And checking again I have info for mine they come on dec 1st.

pretty fast since they are not due to be shipped until dec 7th.

they sold a huge amount of s-7's.  I wonder what the markup was.

Or should I say I wonder what the lowest price for them really is.

I think they could sell these as low as 700 usd and turn profit on them.

They were able to keep the S-5 price at high levels I wonder if they can keep the s-7 above 1000. As a side note sales on hashnest have become slow.

They are listing cloud s-7 at 5.49 btc  which is  a lot more then a batch 8 s-7 it is not selling well.

Diff will cross 82 bill in 10 days.

wow, my batch 7 shipped today !

edit : I belive they have noticed the high increase of diff and they have decided to ship them earlier.
Still isn't enough for them to ROI with this diff increase lately.

any one else get a notice for batch 7 shipping?

And not burnt cable, but scorched 6 pin that I don't like to see. I think the prescribed method of having to power the hash boards then the controller is pretty damn stupid.

top notch chinese quality!!! Grin

at a minimum, you are not being fair.
all iphones are being manufactured in China as well-do you have complains about the quality of these?
I suggest to complain about particular cases, not unfairly generalizing, but, hey, say what you want, of course.

well he said he hot plugged his controllers he may have killed them off doing this.

The problem is the instructions can be interpreted to do just that.

My first thought was that would work if you had 2 psu's  I then said fuck that can't be right. I will plug every pcie cable then turn the  psu's on.  If the hash rate is fucked up I will reboot.

Much more sound to power up  the gear that way.

People need to start gathering more information before doing things like hot plugging live current into the controller. Arcing is never good.

It happen regularly that people think they need to unplug the controller, then power the boards then hot plug the controller. Its not what it says and since its indeed ambiguous, people should really ask before plugging something live. :S

It just mean in the case where there is a need to use multiple PSU, flip the switch to power the PSU that power the controller last/at the same time as the other PSU(s).

I have my multiple PSU on the same power bar anyways so when i want to power something multiple like this, i just flip the power bar's switch and done.

Multi PSU works just fine this way.

Also good way to do it.

33925  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: AntMiner S5 Chain 2 stops working after a few hours on: November 27, 2015, 06:48:40 AM
I think your psu may be too weak.

you can try a lower freq  say 300 vs 350   if the board does not drop it means the psu has enough power for 300 freq around 920gh

and not enough for 350 freq around 1150 gh

what is the exact make  and model of your psu
33926  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S7 is available at bitmaintech.com with 4.86TH/s, 0.25J/GH on: November 27, 2015, 06:15:34 AM

Are you hot plugging the controllers?

Ie turning on the psu plugged into the hash boards with the controller unplugged?

Then plug in a hot pcie cable into your controller?

Yup Yup

Yeah that is how you scorched the controller jack.  You arc the d c power .

The instructions are written in a way that more then one person has done what you do.

Never never never never never do that.

1    Plug in all pcie jacks with psu turned off.

2.    Turn your psu or psu's on.
3.    Look at your hash rates if they look like shit  do a soft re boot via the system reboot  option.

Then s5's
Now an s7

He has been pretty honest. I may order more soon.

sounds very unlikely...which PSU do you have? Did you install the jumper?
re burning PCIe by plugging into controller-that's just pure trolling as controller does not consume enough power to burn a PCIe cable.
You might have burned a connector (maybe!) if you inserted it backwards, but that's it.

maybe you needed consultation or read more about it before trying something.

Jumper? Can you explain?

Using AWP batch 2, which comes with 2 less pci-e which kind of sucks.

And not burnt cable, but scorched 6 pin that I don't like to see. I think the prescribed method of having to power the hash boards then the controller is pretty damn stupid.

33929  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Converting a 50 amp 240V line for mining questions on: November 27, 2015, 05:45:53 AM
240v line completed.  Very easy.

Good luck with it.

I gather you kept the pdu and put in a 20 amp circuit. This way the pdu will not be over loaded.

You can do three s-7's on it with no issues.

My speed jumped up to 1.5 Th so i thinking it wants to work now.

I will post bask with update.

Thanks for helping.

sent you screen shots of a good order I spent 0.01 on it 20 th fixed.

https://www.nicehash.com/?p=orders

order number F #819184  its on me.

Yep looks like mine.
I used Nicehash for some time. Strang it did not work with this pool at first. Its all good now.
Thanks for looking.

Other pools i was barly breaking even with Nicehash how is it here?

this is a high variance pool.  so when we get hot you can whale.   but we have been very cold.

we hit 5 blocks in the Merry Month of May this year.

We hit only one block for  all the months  since then.

So if we get hot like May of this year you will be happy but if we stay cold at least you got 0.01 worth of hash from me.

I drove 108 miles to my wife's cousins.

Went from my town of Howell, NJ, USA   to  Commack, NY, USA.

We ate a lot of food sat around and talked about a ton of different things.  Then Played 2 board games.  Watched part of 3 USA football games.

Then ate dessert with coffee.  Then got back in the car and drove 108 miles back home. Skipped wine today due to all the driving.

I am tired and may or may not do Black Friday shopping in 10 hours or so when I wake back up.

Although Targets deal is good,  I have a buddy that wants to do it. Maybe we will partner up and do the deal.

Now we had price go wacky today at:

 midnight  332 usd
7:30 am   368 usd
11:30 pm 349 usd

the 332 to 349 is 5% price  but 332 to 368 was 11%   if we can start to get big price swings up from now until the ½ ing  we are going to have a lot of fun.  With buying and selling coins with diff jumps and the like.  So for now I will track my coins and wait for 390 to sell some.
33938  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: S7 controller has nine 18- pin jacks So what can we do with it? on: November 26, 2015, 01:40:52 PM
I just hooked two units together via the rails and then unmounted both control boards and place a single bb board and data port board in between the two miners held in place with  a little velcro.  The original cables the S7 ships with are plenty long enough when set up this way... Smiley
[img=http://s27.postimg.org/z2bmhxs3z/IMG_0128.jpg]
[img=http://s27.postimg.org/3u31km2dr/IMG_0120.jpg]

It would seem to me you could lash together two S7's with a single controller if you were to lay the miners on their sides, so that the "Top Side" were facing each other. Kind of awkward to wire up, but it shouldn't take any "long cables" to accomplish.

It would be interesting to know if the S7 cooling actually requires that the blades be vertical to work OK. While it's obvious what the "expected" orientation is, does it still behave well if it's laid on it's side?

point them upwards top to top that allows for  vertical and hot air raises.

stack them on a box fan  which allows for more air to help fans.  also if fans fail the box fan may save the day.

thats what i did, works great.

thx for sharing the info guys but i noticed they do run slower than individual controller

how much slower?  4800 + 4800 = 9600

are you dropping to 9500 or 9400 or worse?

I theorize the controller is running 4 fans vs 2  so that the pcie runs volts say 12.0 vs 12.1  and thus lower speeds.

I also think 2 s-7s on two controllers give two sets of psu readings  so if one psu is 12.1 and the other is 12.0  one s-7 will run better.

but 1 controller uses the lower reading so it reads the 12 and both s-7s run lower.
33939  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Diff thread Nov 23 to Dec 7 Set up stage- Picks Not Open Yet on: November 26, 2015, 12:09:54 PM
the numbers are too high but if people keep adding gear they will become true.

yesterday we made about 154 blocks  today we made 141 with an hour to go.  so in two days  we will be at 302 vs 288 or  only 6%.

It is a USA holiday tomorrow my we only do 140 blocks.

I am thinking after 3 days say 10pm New York East coast time on Thurs we are about 4 or 5% (I hope)

and to completely  make things more interesting look at price on coin base back up to  332 it was 318 in the morning.

Price is still heading up which is good.  Currently around $341.61 on coinbase.   So price is moving with difficulty some it seems.

As long as price rises with nasty changes guess we will not be hurting as bad.  Will be interesting to see what price does in relation to difficulty change over coming weeks.

Big price move 357 on coinbase!  Oh happy T-day to those that celebrate it.
