I don't think the price is artificially kept low. But I do agree that the DEX is the culprit. The current DEX is complete and utter shit and completely useless for any serious traders.
If Waves ever gets a serious DEX that can appeal to masses of traders and investors it will start gaining traction. At that point we'll see the price of Waves increase because they will be needed to trade on the platform, which would then have a larger volume of transactions. Furthermore, due to increased activity the mining revenues will increase substantially. This will have two effects, on one side it will increase the amount of Waves sold as it will be a form of "dividend" for miners. On the other hand, people will re-lease the mined fees to get even more fees. Overall, the price should be going up though.
However, this depends massively on the quality and speed of the DEX.
Another point that would greatly help Waves would be a better GUI for the platform. One that would make it stupidly easy to create tokens and to actually use them for voting and other contracts. What is currently missing (in crypto in general), are smart contracts that a donkey could program. Waves has a unique starting point for this due to the fact that it already uses a "platform" of its own. Whether or not they will successfully leverage it is an open question though.
I feel the same. DEX needs improvement, certainly the charts, and when you're orders are executed, it doesn't show up immediately. It's more like etherdelta and need to be something like trex, functionality wise. Once that happens, we can see waves easily going above $10. Just look at Binance before the crash. |

This big correction was due for sometime. From here on Eth can go under 200$, but it mostly depends on where BTC finds the bottom. Unfortunately everything is still tied to BTC. And if BTC drops the ripple effect is felt all across alt market.

I invested in LBRY on 22nd june when it was pumping from 17th june 11.27 worth of bitcoins and at that time LBRY reached 92 cents, Now my bitcoins are worth 2.5 and I am one the biggest bag holder of these, Guess it was my start in trading and I have learnt the hard way, I thought and believed this to be a great project but I don't know why this particular project has not recovered, All other altcoins have been recovering but not this particular one. Guess I will remain the bag holder of it till my 30k+ lbc becomes same worth as I invested in.
ouch!! im really sorry for you loss BUT it's not a loss unless you sell!! i was in a very similar situation in 2014 when i bought vericoin almost near its top and held the bag for a long time you gotta look on the bright side, even though your down on your BTC investment, the price in BTC is going way up so your recouping your losses just because BTC is worth more. my advice to you would be to accept that you are a long term holder of LBC and you should try to avg down by buying and trading. ..last little bit of encouragement..i sold all my vericoin early this year for a 2 BTC gain just because i held over the years and staked and traded the coin actively. if you just keep your head up and dont give up and sell you will get back in the green. just be grateful that you are bag holding a legit project and not one where the dev bails and coin goes to zero Appreciate your advice. LBC is not a good coin, but it ain't very bad either. I'm certainly positive that it will go beyond 92 cents again within six months. Just be strong and keep holding. Waves is one of the better projects available in the market right now. It is still a cheap altcoin and i personally believe that it is undervalued. I think that it will replace ethereum in coming years and you can expect high returns from your investment.
Yup, i am also thinking in the same way, so I bought some coins and saved in my wallet. I will not use that coin to trade I keep for long term investment. I am also hoping that this coin will replace ETH in the future and very soon this coin will take off and the price will start to increase. Many new projects are developing based on this projects, so they will make this coin to become famous in short time. You can lease those coins and make some money while holding. Apart from that if you hold waves in liteclient then you get airdrops from new coins, and sell them for some profit. It's win win situation. |

Not really no. I feel like everyone has this backwards. If this were stock in a company, the price of the stock is directly related to the value of the company (how much it has in assets).
Tezos is the opposite of the majority of these ICO's, the money isn't just handed out to the team who created the whitepaper, it is managed as funds for the network by a non-profit organization. You can think of the tokens as being directly backed by these funds in a way.
For most ICO's particularly all the ERC-20 garbage as of late, it's not that. They take your money, put it in their bank accounts and give you something useless in return.
And don't forget these area all micro-cap investments anyway. Linkedin the website was bought for 26 BILLION. Even at 200 Million for Tezos, it's just a tiny tiny marketcap with decent financial backing. Other projects are tiny marketcaps with tiny financial backing!
Look at Ripple or Bancor. It stays low level due to huge market cap. No, Bancor was a classic example of everything that is wrong with the garbage ERC-20 tokens. It was just a bad unworkable idea with nothing actually behind it. I think I recall 40 lines of code was behind the poorly conceived idea http://hackingdistributed.com/2017/06/19/bancor-is-flawed/ Tezos was in the works back in 2014 (code wise) and conceptually prior to even that. It has a tremendous code base and a large development team. A 200 million or 2 Billion of even 200 Billion market cap for a global system of currency will look like nothing. Part of me is just thrilled that folks in this space can somehow think Tezos and these other projects are even in the same universe! That confusion might allow me to invest a decent amount into it before it blows up. most of the people here dont have any clue about what they are investing in. I wrote in Bancor thread weeks before the ICO that this "business idea" makes no sense. Also Bancor is just an idea of an app on top of ETH. Comparing this with tezos is jsut insane. tezos is a complete new blockchain / ecosystem/ with a (small) potential to be a game changer aka bitcoin and/or eth killer ripple had huge gains this year. it makes sense that it can not gain more now. Also there is no real usage of ripple until now Truly said!! Comparing tezos with other ERC20 tokens or ripple makes no sense. Tezos has different purpose, whereas ripple has nothing. |

Panic started because the price w.r.t to average price drop of other coins is more steep. The reason is that Decent team had almost an year to deliver, and they came with a less than impressive product. I am holding some decent, but will refrain from buying more, and probably wait for some good update. Please research before posting 1. Eth smart contract was hacked, aot Aeternity. Many other project have losses too, due to this hack. 2. Zack was never CTO, he was a developer who left. So what is the point if it's delayed or not delayed. 4. Chinese got their AE tokens through other enterprise which is closed down. AE again has nothing to do with that. |
