I can vouch for both Virtex and Liberty Bit - I've been using both for a couple months now and have deposited and withdrawn bitcoins and CAD with no trouble.

Liberty Bit has much lower fees and better options for deposit and withdraw, but they're also much smaller in terms of volume and mostly a sellers market (most of the filled orders are buy orders, making for higher prices). It also has much lower market depth - so it'll collapse / explode faster than Virtex - this can be a good or bad thing depending on the day and what you're holding.

I would consider STARTING with Liberty Bit because it's easier to deposit funds and the rates are lower. Once you've bought some BTC, move them over to Virtex and holding some funds in both. That's what I do :p

Cheers
Zac

Lost enough BTC to Satoshi Dice, Gambling with BTC is dangerous because it doesn't feel like real money.. Read up on the guy who lost his life savings.

Link? Yes but one could argue that casinos use even more elaborate schemes to render the gameplay instinctive and thoughtless, first of all every casino exchanges your dollars to chips so it doesn't feel like real money, secondly rumors of casinos pumping oxygen into the ventilation systems, removing clocks/windows, giving free drinks to players, free rides etc are pretty widespread so I think it is safe to assume that we create an environment which is a lot more safe.

True Story: I got punched in the head by casino security once while abroad and it's not like I'm an incredible douche who seeks to troll people in public, I think it was completely uncalled for and unexpected. Getting in fights abroad isn't that fun.

Lol on the Casino story.. True enough - Casinos do throw a lot of dollars at separating fools from their money; free alcohol specifically targeted to the bigger money tables is certainly one of many.

I'm not saying don't play - just saying don't forget that you're playing with real money. Best of luck to all!

Amazing how things have exploded.. I bought a few bitcoins last November -- almost feels like a whole different currency now.. The increased valuation is certainly changing the face of Bitcoin.. No longer a relatively small community with a significant portion sharing common goals -- Mainstreaming has it's ups and downs.
