What's the point of "communication" if the end result does not change?

So, you had a year's worth of communication from BFL? How did the communication change the result from January to March, if no shipping? What about the communication in March? Did it change the end result in April? I highly doubt it, because I have BFL stuff on order too. Nothing has changed, month to month. So, communication with nothing new is absolutely worthless.

Why do you need an update every other day? To communicate that nothing has changed? That's worthless.

Obviously, nothing has changed since the last update, so what is there to report? That more people are waiting for the refund? That Yifu isn't doing jack?

I really do not see the point of all this vitriol. You want personal, up to the minute service? Get a dog that will hang around and give you updates every minute.

My concern isn't that Yifu isn't doing jack (as he cleary is, lots of proof that he does indeed send refunds), my concern is that steamboat isn't doing jack.

He's taking multiple weeks for a job that other groupbuy organizers had handled and finished within a few days. That alone is reason enough to be concerned. There is no reason _at all_ for him to not have received a refund from Yifu by now.

In the meantime, we just need to get people on board so we can put legal pressure on him if he choosed to keep doing fuckall.
342  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Liquid Synergy Designs Inc. -ASIC mining hardware on: September 10, 2013, 11:37:01 PM

You ever think he might be trying to find a way out of this & is still in limbo of what he can devulge to us Huh

Just do what you gotta do,I have confidence things will work out.Until Y I FU ships chips or refunds, what choice is there.................

BTW,I waited over a year for my BFL unit & had communication the whole way from BFL/Josh.To me this is "a walk in the park "  Roll Eyes

I don't see how he should take 3 weeks to get the chip refunds in order, while SebastianJu and Zefir handled it to full conclusion in a matter of days.

Stop glorifying steamboat, he's doing a shit job.
343  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Liquid Synergy Designs Inc. -ASIC mining hardware on: September 10, 2013, 11:14:21 PM
Unacceptable, steamboat is very much at fault here.

He's showing a continued disregard of his responsibilities, to say it with his own words.

It's been a week since I submitted my refund request, and I've heard nothing from it. Nothing at all.

We're still gathering people to pursue legal action if necessary.
344  Other / Meta / Re: Suggestion: private key as added security feature for accounts on: September 10, 2013, 11:11:18 PM
An extra layer of security by means of proving ownership of a BTC address controlled by the user, for any security-related action (password change, email addrss change), seems like a very elegant solution. Especially for this forum.

Probably should make it optional (but urgently recommended upon registering) because true noobs usually don't have a BTC address yet. It's a very good improvement on the initial idea of verification-by-email, I guess.
345  Other / Meta / Re: Proposal: E-mail change should require e-mail confirmation for added security on: September 10, 2013, 10:38:20 PM
The chances of both your e-mail address and bitcointalk account being compromized at the same time, are very small, I'd say.
346  Other / Meta / Re: Proposal: E-mail change should require e-mail confirmation for added security on: September 10, 2013, 06:27:03 PM
I disagree

This message was posted by the one who took over my account, who, surprisingly, gave it back to me. Sort of thank you, I guess?

Account was compromized.
348  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Liquid Synergy Designs Inc. -ASIC mining hardware on: September 09, 2013, 08:11:24 PM
nightengale, send me a PM with your details (chip order, batch number, email address). I'll add them to my sheet of people who are waiting on their refund and are done waiting. A few people from that group are ready to pursue legal action if needed. With more people on board, it will be easier to get his details from John K.

I'm not saying we're going to do that just yet, but we better be prepared for the worst. So far steamboat hasn't done awfully much to regain my trust back. I have yet to hear anything about my refund request.
349  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Liquid Synergy Designs Inc. -ASIC mining hardware on: September 09, 2013, 11:12:28 AM
So, steamboat, what's the tally? Have you gotten a batch refunded yet? Or are you still waiting for them to deliver so you can build your rigs?
350  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Liquid Synergy Designs Inc. -ASIC mining hardware on: September 03, 2013, 10:30:45 PM
There is no specific deadline in Avalon's literature, ie Sept. newsletter, the online refund form has no deadline either.  Zefir has a Wed. deadline for his group buy only.
My ignore list is growing.

cheers.

Did you think for a moment about why Zefir has the Wednesday deadline? Because after that, Yifu receives the chips, and he might very well send them out, making refunds impossible.

I'm not willing to take that risk and would've liked to see steamboat make a stand before this Wednesday deadline. I'm not sure why steamboat is choosing to take a giant risk with our money, while all other groupbuy hosts have acted in a timely manner to avoid the risk of not receiving refunds.

In terms of hashrate, they all were capable of reaching 750kh/s with overclock, no overvoltage.

They ran 24/7 for a few months at ~720kh/s. They never ran at higher than stock voltage. Temperatures were kept <70C, but duging high summer (40C outside), some did reach 79 C.

I can guarantee the 720kh/s hashrate for being 24/7 stable when cooled properly (2 120mm fans per 4 cards).
352  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Liquid Synergy Designs Inc. -ASIC mining hardware on: September 03, 2013, 09:20:31 PM
Still nothing from steamboat? He was online about an hour ago.

When the deadline passes, I think it's pitchfork time.
353  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Liquid Synergy Designs Inc. -ASIC mining hardware on: September 03, 2013, 03:46:13 PM
Why would anyone send you their information?  You can't do anything.  Also your tone doesn't exactly lend you creditability. The only option is to wait for an update from steamboat.  Getting mad isn't going to solve anything.

Because when we have a group together who can communicate quickly amongst each other, it's way easier to pursue actions against steamboat if it has to come down to that. Lone buyers may not want to take on the entire task for a few hundred/thousand USD, but when you tally it all together, there's hundreds of thousands of USD in this groupbuy. Together we stand strong.
354  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Liquid Synergy Designs Inc. -ASIC mining hardware on: September 03, 2013, 03:05:48 PM
Agreed. Steamboat's assembly has precisely NOTHING to do with THIS group buy. None, nada, zip, zilch. The terms of THIS deal have been breached, meaning we're entitled to a refund, and Steamboat's silence on the matter is nothing but cowardice.

Put me on the list in support of legal action against Bitsyncom; Yifu G (individually and in his capacity as an officer of BitSynCom); and if we don't get a very clear resolution very shortly from Steamboat, against Steamboat, (individually and in his capacity as an officer of Liquid Synergy Designs, Inc).

Playtime is over. It's time for results.

Send me a PM with your email address, I'm gathering people who are fed up with steamboat's lazy approach that causes us nothing but damage. Also add the chips + batch + paid BTC amount.
355  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Liquid Synergy Designs Inc. -ASIC mining hardware on: September 03, 2013, 12:29:58 PM
Yifu hasn't specified a deadline. All he said is that on Wednesday he will be sending chip batches to cover June orders.

SB already stated that he will be offering refunds if Yifu confirms that refunds will be available.

I don't have assembly with SB and burnin is offering refunds for assembly, 50% now or 70% if you are willing to put it towards his new Bitfury project.

The deadline is that Yifu will most likely send the batches that didn't request for a refund on Wednesday. Steamboat has to make any refund requests to Yifu before this time, and it doesnt seem he's doing so atm.

With about one day left for him to make inventory of those who want a refund, and no news up until now, I think steamboat is heavily neglecting his duty to mitigate our damages (well said, cardcomm). Due to his delays, I think he has now made it practically impossible to setup a refund operation on time.

I have requested a refund multiple times now, only to be sent off with a "we don't accept refunds now" message, while all other groupbuys have already finished receiving theirs.

I'm sure I'm not the only one who thinks of this as utterly unacceptable. Those who agree with me should send me a PM, so I can make an inventory of those who are dissatisfied and ready to take action if necessary. For any action we might want to take in the future (for instance, obtaining steamboats identity through John K., if it needs to come to that), it helps to stand strong with a large group of people. Please include the amount of chips and BTC you have tied in this groupbuy, as well as your batch number. Also, include your email address so I can easily mail the entire list if need be.

I'm not saying we're taking action just yet, and i sincerly hope we don't have to, but we need to be prepared for the worst. We've seen it go south way to many times in other Bitcoin related businesses.

^ several big buyers have responded to me and are added to the group. Keep them coming and please also include your email address.

And if people want their chips refunded, I believe Steamboat is obligated to do so. To do otherwise would simply invite future lawsuits agains Steamboat himself, alleging that he failed to take proper steps to mitigate damages.

Still no news from steamboat.

Refund deadline tomorrow.

We're all getting screwed, probably for his profit.

I'm selling 11 Sapphire 7970 Vapor-X OC videocards.

Mining is no longer profitable with the ridiculous (~0.28$/kwh) where I live.

I'm based in Europe, but will ship worldwide. Shipping costs are for the customer.

The price is 2.9 BTC per card.
359  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Liquid Synergy Designs Inc. -ASIC mining hardware on: September 02, 2013, 09:59:40 PM
It seems to me that a couple of people, alfabitcoin and boxman90, who are for whatever reason not personally satisfied (and will never be) personally satisfied, have decided upon themselves to take over this thread and turn it into a complete bitchfest about anything and everything.

If there is no communication to their liking, they bitch about it.

If there is no e-mail from Steamboat, they bitch about it.

If they're some e-mail from Steamboat, they bitch about it.

If there is some sort of small error with the board on some other thread, they bitch about it.

If the difficulty increases and they see their ROI threatened, they bitch about it.

Let's just call it for what it is. Cold feet when the going gets a little tough. Plain old whining.

Let's have a little more whining please, because that will make everything better, will help you get refunds, and it will make the boards hash better. Maybe Steamboat will come on here, and give you a little hug, so you'll feel better.

Hey, if you would have raised some valid points against our concerns, we could've had a nice discussion. But no, all you do, is bitch about it.
360  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Group Buy] Avalon ASIC Chips (SebastianJu) Batch 6 ordered (Closed) on: September 02, 2013, 07:37:23 PM
SebastianJu, have you or Zefir had any contact with steamboat?

It seems he's the only one not participating in requesting refunds. I read in one of your or Zefirs post that you would collaborate with other group buy organizers. Has he written back to you guys?
