341  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What is the risk of holding Bitcoin? on: November 06, 2017, 05:15:53 PM
Well the obvious risk of holding bitcoin is that the price falls and you lose money, if you are confident the price will increase then another risk is volatility, if you invest all your money and urgently need to access it you may have to end up selling on a downspike. The other major risk is somehow losing your funds via hacking or some other method.
342  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Time to Bear the Loss? on: November 03, 2017, 11:29:33 AM
People who bought altcoins with their bitcoins are in a deep and huge loss due to the rise of bitcoin value, there are possible two options for them now, either keep holding their alts and hope that one day they would be able to recover if the alts pump, but with this option, the time invested could be too much.
Second option would be to sell the alts and bear the loss, of course with this option they will get back a very small percentage of the initial bitcoin investment, but there would be a possibility to invest in other coins and maybe recover their loss, or even just keep holding their left bitcoin and in time of course, its USD value be enough to overcome the loss.

What do you think about these option? Are you in this situation too? What do you plan to do about it?

I do find myself in this situation to an extent but fortunately I'm not very heavily invested in alts, I've managed to day trade with the holdings I did have so that even with the price crashes I've nearly maintained my amount of bitcoin at current prices so I see no reason to sell now because if alts recover as expected I'll profit a very nice amount
343  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will be 10k in the next 6-10 months! on: November 03, 2017, 11:27:31 AM
Actually, it was expected to hit in 2018. Now that we've witness the recent price rise, I think no one will doubt about $10k by 2018 and also because of recent movement we can now say confidently that $20k is possible to reach in few more years.

It is getting to the stage whereby 10k in or before 2018 is just a formality and the question is more of how much higher can it go, 15k? 20k?
344  Economy / Speculation / Re: "Bitcoin will implode"... on: November 02, 2017, 02:10:32 PM
he is just trying to take price down to buy more bitcoin. that what they do for years on stocks. But this is Bitcoin community and they can't play like stocks.

May be stocks are all what he understands. Smiley It is interesting that all these attacks come from the establishment guys, the guys who have the most to lose if Bitcoin is successful.

If he is an oil tycoon then what does he really have to lose if bitcoin is successful? I actually think that most billionaires etc who make such comments probably have little financial interest in bitcoin and are purely speculating out of their own interest, they're rich enough already, it doesn't matter to them what happens with bitcoin.
345  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: what do you think about pump and dump? on: November 02, 2017, 02:07:50 PM
Pumps and dumps is a common thing in trading. You should be ready to face this situation as this will test your emotion how you would react in a critical situation like when you see the value of your coins is falling.

It is common but realistically you shouldn't end up in a situation where your coins are really falling hard due to a pump and dump because that probably means that you bought at the top which you really shouldn't do.
346  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: long term invest in bitcoin on: November 01, 2017, 12:06:35 PM
Hello everyone
I have around 2400$ and I have the idea to invest them by buying bitcoin. I plane for a long term investment (few months to year). Best time to buy BTC and best strategy (I heard  about a hard fork will happen soon) ? Other ideas to invest this amount of money for the indicated period of time ?
Thank you

It is difficult to give an exact price to buy at because no one can say with certainty what will happen with the price, right not bitcoin is very bullish so I would expect a downturn in price soon. If you plan to hold for a few years then you shouldn't have to worry too much about maybe paying a couple hundred dollars more.
347  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: is it better to invest in bitcoin or ethereum ? on: October 31, 2017, 01:42:38 PM
I believe eth has more room for growth but given current trends it is really hard to look past bitcoin, it is on a big bull run so right now bitcoin is better.
348  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Share where you invest on: October 31, 2017, 01:41:27 PM
I'm investing in ICO. ICO nowadays have future, so the price I bought is low, then after how many months, price will pump.

The trend of most ICOs lately actually is for the price to be lower than ICO price on initial launch so many are avoiding buying in to ICOs at the moment unless they show great promise.
349  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: WARNING DeepOnion is a SCAM, proof inside! on: October 30, 2017, 01:02:58 PM
Deep Onion seems more and more like a ponzi scheme each passing day. The latest changes basically say to everyone who holds coins that they shouldn't sell because they'll profit more and to new investors they have to buy to profit, it is all pushing a false economy for developers to dump their own coins.
350  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Kyber Network To Collaborate with AppCoins on: October 30, 2017, 01:01:04 PM
Do you think actual price is nice to invest ?

thanks Smiley

Yes, it's under 2x ICO price and at about the lowest it's ever been. At its peak it was about 6x ICO price. It seems likely that in Q1 of 2018 the price will pump once they release their product.
351  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Dogecoin. 2017 will be $ 1 in December. on: October 29, 2017, 11:45:03 AM
This coin has a very big supply and very big annual inflation. There is no way of reaching $1 in our lifetime.
Well, never say never, Korea could blow the USA out of the water and then the dollar would become worth next to nothing and 1 doge might just be $1. Also a BTC would be about $100m  Tongue but other than some ridiculous fall in value of the dollar as described then yes I agree it will never happen, the supply is to big.
352  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Missed the crypto train, time for a $5K gamble on: October 29, 2017, 11:42:59 AM
Interesting to read that you are fully aware that bitconnect is a ponzi scheme but you're still willing to invest. If that's your decision then I'm not really sure what advice you are looking for but for your sake I wish you good luck and hope that bitconnect does not collapse before you recover your investment.

Hello, I would ask that my posts/stakes be checked for the most recent week of the signature campaign. It says that I did not make the required posts but I believe that I did.

Thanks.
354  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Has Dogecoin reached it's full potential (Price)? on: October 28, 2017, 02:15:19 PM
Hi all new to crypto thusfar fell in love with i have myself some well-known coins. and i have a question: Has dogecoin reached it's price potential or will we see it's price grow (tremendously) over the couple of years?
-Altcoiner707 Grin

Certainly I don't expect DOGE to grow tremendously, there isn't much room for it to grow given how large the supply is. With new development it could rise in price but not much more than maybe 100 satoshi at maximum.
355  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICO Legality on: October 28, 2017, 02:13:59 PM
To my understanding most that ban ICOs are doing it because they are very under regulated and so investors are very much under risk, they ban ICOs therefore to protect their citizens who want to invest.
356  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Are you going to keep your BTC on exchange during the upcoming forks? on: October 27, 2017, 11:52:19 AM
Any BTC I have currently is on an exchange, as long as they support the fork and will credit the forked coin then I will keep it on the exchange for ease, for example with bittrex and BTC gold. If they will not credit it (which I would be surprised about) then I will move it to a wallet. It is just easier this way
357  Economy / Speculation / Re: bitcoin can drop 2000$ before end of this year on: October 26, 2017, 01:18:40 PM
I do not see this happening, in fact I don't really expect to see bitcoin fall below $5k before the year end but that is far more feasible, only some doomsday scenarios would lead to a price of under 2k.
358  Economy / Speculation / Re: Price Back to 5,700 and rise more on: October 26, 2017, 01:16:36 PM
It is surprising to me to see bitcoin recover so rapidly, I suspected it would happen ahead of the fork again next month but I did not expect it to be quite so rapid.
359  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bubble or Not? on: October 25, 2017, 12:59:54 PM
Bitcoin is strange because it seems like it is always in a bubble but then it also seems to always recover so rapidly once the bubble is burst, there is ever growing support for bitcoin and I think the crashes in future will be less significant and less often.
360  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: job and trading together.. on: October 25, 2017, 12:57:47 PM
Juggling a full time job and trading daily is very difficult and can be very stressful, it is mentally stressful and draining having to leave positions open when you have to go to work and not being able to check on them.
