341  Economy / Speculation / Re: Total speculator mass in gold, silver, etc? on: July 30, 2013, 09:50:23 PM
$10,000 in three years is a no-brainer  Cheesy

Bitcoin is ten pixels now, but the potential is enormous.

nice picture  Smiley

edit : why compare the value of all bitcoins to the daily/annual forex transactions ? It's comparing apples and oranges... It's easy to compare forex daily transaction to bitcoin daily ransaction (= 30 millions...the difference is big enough!)
342  Economy / Speculation / Re: Total speculator mass in gold, silver, etc? on: July 30, 2013, 03:25:46 PM
I found 6.8 trillions of $ for the value of all the gold in the world and 800 billions for the silver

That's 2% of your market capitalization of 150 billions

So it's not impossible, but certainly not in 3 years Cheesy

 Shocked ok...
344  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin market trend analysis- so far the most reliable through 2-month test on: July 19, 2013, 03:26:56 AM
hi,
We know that the trend analysis isn't going well.
What we want to say is that Mr. Zhu is trying his best to share his views here and hope this can be a little bit help for you.
And we also know that he cannot be 100% right for the short-term forecast all the time.
We really appreciate you guys spend time reading this and some might have followed this closely.
Yet, you need to think carefully before invest.
We hope people can make money and be happy.
If this caused inconvenience, we're sorry.

the following is from yesterday:

The short-term trend is similar to earlier drop. The trend won’t reverse immediately because of abrupt drop in the uptrend and it needs time to be confirmed. Currently, the price falls too much and we may decide direction after further consolidation. The long-term trend is still dropping slowly downwards. For medium-long term, we may pay attention to price above or under 100$.

We wanna remind our friends that his forecast is aiming short-term trend and one day in advance at most.
So, you still need to decide yourself and just take this as a reference.

Sincerely,
796 Exchange

It was a big mistake, but nobody can be always right. Any analysis is welcome. Smiley
A problem is maybe a matter of timing, it's short term prediction and the analysis seems to be posted half a day after the forecast. With short term prediction, things can evolve fast. When you posted the last analysis, the price was already falling (making the analysis obsolete).

346  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin market trend analysis- so far the most reliable through 2-month test on: July 18, 2013, 10:42:16 AM
very nice post

Predict a rise to 110 and instead having a fall to 80s, I don't know if we can call it a "nice post"... neither "the most reliable analysis"  Lips sealed

two whales with opposing interests ?

Can there be so many whales in a small market like this?

The whale could eat walls both side -> "cleaning the road" before placing his own walls in the direction the whale want

bear trap Grin

(or bull trap?)

Watch carefully and learn.

I try to put the piece together

- indecision, no move -> perfect time for a whale to be followed
- whale sell -> price fall to 96
- plancton panic sell -> giving cheap btc to whale
- whale buy -> price rise to 99.5
- plancton panic buy -> buy expensive the same btc they sold 5 minutes ago

 Huh

Since several people requested for 2H bars i'm going to add such option soon. As regards custom intervals, it shouldn't be hard to implement this, since the backend stores all history data from Mtgox.

great  Cheesy

Feature update
- added support for Underscore library (http://underscorejs.org/) - cool utility-belt library for JavaScript that provides support for the usual functional suspects (each, map, reduce, filter...)
- added bindings to Ta-lib library (http://ta-lib.org) - technical analysis library that includes 125+ indicators.

For details check the documentation at the site.

I tried to use the new indicators but even reading the doc in the site it's not much clearer for me

If I just want to access the main value of an indicator with default parameters, what is the code ?

Take ADX as an exemple, is it something like this ?
Code:
instrument = data.btc_usd
indic = instrument.talib.ADX
debug indic.signal
(I know it doesn't work, but I would like to know how far I am)  Grin

maybe he is buying at gox and selling at other exchanges

Buying @100 and selling @90 ? I hope he has a good strategy Grin

Or maybe just a whale cashing out Smiley

ETF experts estimate there are roughly four dozen APs in the market. These include: Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Barclays, BNP Paribas, Citigroup, Credit Suisse, Deutsche Bank, Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan Chase, KCG, Morgan Stanley, Nomura, Société Générale, UBS and Virtu Financial, which specialises in high-frequency trading.

The banks don't want to support Bitcoin ? What a scoop  Tongue
356  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: CryptoTrader.org [Web based Automated Trading & Backtesting platform] on: July 16, 2013, 10:11:38 AM
Is it planned to add other time intervals ? like 2h or 6h
(or let a possibility to custom it)

Sometimes there is a huge difference between 2 consecutive intervals and I would be curious to test the middle Smiley

I think you deserve an explanation of what happened yesterday:

thanks !  Smiley

Nothing happens when I try to register, is it normal ?
359  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: CryptoTrader.org [Web based Automated Trading & Backtesting platform] on: July 15, 2013, 12:45:14 PM
great tool, thanks Smiley

but I don't understand how to make my own scripts

In your help, there is an exemple
debug data.btc_usd.high[data.btc_usd.length-1] # Displays current High value

If I try it and copy-paste the line in the source code, all I have is
null
null
null
...

What can I change to have the correct values in the backtest field ?

This seems to be a documentation issue. The valid code for accessing current High price is:
Code:
    debug data.btc_usd.high[data.btc_usd.high.length-1]

Thanks for reporting this.

Thank you !
How do you get the high price of the 5 last hours for example (if we are in hourly mode) ? Is there a function or do you have to make a loop ?
