342  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [UNO] Unobtanium Info & Discussion - Current wallet 0.9.5 on: February 03, 2015, 05:15:59 PM
Is there any estimate how many members UNO community has?  Huh
As far as I know, I am astonished on the number of passive wallets in UNO community.
If you browse through top 100 wallet adresses, there are more than enough wallets that have been passive for months, some even more than 1 year.
Looks like a huge part of UNOs are located in strong hands.

it's 12000 active wallets so should be at least 1000 people, maybe up to 3000
Holding Uno longterm does make sense so it's no surprise seeing people doing that.  Wink

Non-zero Balance Addresses    = 14038

Look out for the teaser @ bitty, someone is daydreaming of picking up undervalued XAI   Wink

Yeah, nice buy wall but I think they will be very lucky if price drops that low - especially with the big updates coming soon  Wink

Awesome update CedricQuotient,

The fees look to be relatively small, in the sense that it does not look prohibitively expensive to spam the blockchain. Or perhaps I'm not grasping the full implementation details, and the data held by slave nodes doesn't go into the blockchain at all.
Can you expand a little on how you reached these figures concerning fees, or if this is still largely open to revision once the testnet has provided some sample usage metrics?

Looking forward to running a system on the testnet!  Wink
Tried to pick values that were reasonable but not onerous for defaults.  They are configurable by the slave nodes, just as miners can adjust their required minimum transaction fees etc. in traditional coin network.

Having these values / fees configurable on a node by node basis is a fantastic idea I think!

Should only take a few minutes to upload the video. Why hasn't this video-centic pimp been uploading videos of his coins yet anyways??  Cheesy

Should only take you a couple of minutes to check the thread and see Joe has been posting videos every couple of weeks.

And he just released a fully functional, staking, Android XAI wallet in the last 24 hours.

"This isn't the coin you are looking for"

Random question.

What does everybody think the XAI price will be in a month or two?

sth between 1 satoshi and 1000 satoshi  Wink

Haha - the self proclaimed crypto guru stikes again. You truly have no idea what you are talking about. I guarantee you it will never hit 1000 satoshi, not even anywhere close.

Right now its getting hard to buy under 10000 satoshi. My advice to anyone would be buy up now at these prices or you will regret it later.  Wink
Man i called the drop down to 5k so please stop hyping your shitcoin

Okay, not going to argue with you. You know best of course.  Tongue

Would you like to make a bet that XAI never gets to 1000 satoshi on Bittrex? Put your money where your big mouth is?  Grin You can even call the stakes...

Not sure where you see a stubborn refusal to fix the difficulty problem when I just mentioned more than once recently in this thread that we have three people working on the 'zmark' chain testing algorithms.

My apologies, I missed that.

Can you briefly explain what the 'zmark' algo is? Is this the same difficulty algo that has been discussed for some time which aims to change difficulty based on demand? What is the ETA on this new algo, days, weeks, months?

Thanks

352  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmark on: January 26, 2015, 12:04:27 PM
Hey I thought this coin was a good  idea along time ago when there was some hash making it go but I stopped a month or 2 ago as why bother when im burning my money (electricity)and still have 20 BTM pending for god knows how long I mean there really isn't a point to this when miners are the backbone of a block chain ..I understand high difficulty but its plain just to high and this is going to die as ive held what I do have and watched it go from 250k sat to 30k and that doesn't fly well cuz its not like this will replace BTC ..this is just looking to find a niche market and turning your miners away will kill it end of story there isn't an argument to be had on it and to do so is just stupid after all the work and wasted electricity...my god man wake up and get the diff within reason that will at least grow and draw some attention to it...or watch it fade cuz as tipping and everything else takes steps forward this is fading and support is fading ...anyways let me know next year when I can get my last few coins out and I hope there still worth half a sat ... Cry

Sorry to hear that the high difficulty has given you a bad experience so far. We definitely don't intend for marking to be a niche market thing though.

Miners will mine whatever is profitable for them to mine, so if we can create demand for BTM then the mining will follow.

Demand would have to sky rocket for mining BTM to all of a sudden become profitable again - I don't see it happening.

Point is without miners there will be no demand for this coin as no one can move it anywhere. I moved some to Bittrex the other day and it took days. That is not really acceptable.

See the circle of doom here?

Not profitable for miners -> No one mining -> No demand -> not profitable for miners etc etc.

Honestly, this stubborn refusal to fix the difficulty problem is vexing. How many people need to keep saying the same thing before someone listens?

358  Economy / Speculation / Re: I AM HODLING on: January 14, 2015, 09:01:14 AM

On that subject, I read once that a common regret that people have had on their deathbeds was that the regretted not taking more risks in life.  I have tried to take that to heart and it has led to some great experiences for sure.  Some may have been seen as "foolish" such as when my husband and I decided to start our own business only to flounder at it for a few years.  But even then we learned so much through that experience and my husband was able to stay home with us more when the kids were young (he was traveling way too much and gone for weeks during the year.)  We wouldn't say we regretted it though and now we can say that we at least tried.  I think those experiences open up our world view and we become even greater risk takers.

It seems in my experience the greatest entrepreneurs in the world have one thing in common, they all were not afraid of taking risk.  And with Bitcoin we the luxury of risking a very small amount.  We don't have to invest more than we can each determine we can afford to lose so really it is one of the greatest opportunities some of us have ever had to be involved in.   This kind of investment with the opportunity to see the kind of rewards that we have potential to see down the road is not often open to those of us with very little capital or cash funds to begin with.  VC's often get the opportunities to get in on the ground floor of some great companies, but by the time the "rest of us" get a chance to invest the true "bubble" or growth period has been achieved.

Well said!

I am hodling...
