Carra23, it might be a good idea to change [x/x Slots] into [x/x Slots], if there are any slots left. I thought the campaign was full and put it under the wrong subsection (and it might confuse other people as well).

Done.

hmm, online but not accepting anyone into the signature campaign or updating the thread. possibly just a ploy to get people running around with their signature for free advertisement.

He is offline. Probably sleeping.

You may change yours, though.

Be very wary of alt accounts often with the same number of posts and activity points.

I think 4 or so of the above accounts are shills/alts. They won't make 50 quality posts.

Which ones in particular?

catena5260
fsdfs
deepestfear

Notice the equivalent post and activity numbers. Check their post history too! They are mostly short, useless, fluff posts to build up a post count.

fsdfs has most of his posts in chinese. Can't say if they are good or not, unless you can read chinese too.

Others at least are not simply one liners. Maybe they just don't like to spam post a lot every day?

Add moko666 to the list too.

The others (if you read through the posts) post replies that have no content whatsoever, they are fluff posts, made consecutively one after the other. Otherwise there are quite a few posts made in giveaway threads, with an address or username to claim free bitcoin. It is clear they are alt accounts, to whom they belong to, no one will know (but possibly all to one person).

Add me to the list too. I am a robot that is posting spams

Please be specific, are you saying i may change my signature because i will not be accepted into the signature campaign? if so, that is fine, i won't argue with you or bug you about it, and i certainly understand, but i do need you to clarify because i am not a mind reader. Thanks

350  Economy / Speculation / Re: will bitcoin hit under 200 usd this year ? on: September 30, 2014, 08:55:37 PM
Smiley

according to
http://www.coinwarz.com/calculators/bitcoin-mining-calculator/?h=2000.00&p=1500.00&pc=0.10&pf=0.00&d=34661425923.97690000&r=25.00000000&er=378.50000000&hc=1500

which i use to compare price of 1 bitcoin and the price of electricity to generate 1 bitcoin, using latest bitcoin miner spec on the market. I get result that 1 bitcoin at this moment cost around 125usd in electricity  alone. this without maintenance/internet/human cost.  this mean no rational miner should be selling under 200 usd.

but do you think btc trader will sell under 200 usd.

Thanks for your input
 Wink

I just spent 700$ to acquire some stock. Let's say it is 10 dollars a piece so I have 70. If you think it doesn't make sense that I will sell it for 8$ just because it cost me 10$ to acquire then you don't understand what happens everyday in the stock market. It doesn't matter what it cost to purchase/create etc.. if it becomes worth less than that you will still sell it if it obviously losing value.

So two things, yes they will sell for less than it cost to acquire and yes they will stop mining.

Thank you for your trading tip.
but if they stopped mining, then selling pressure also reduced.

btw if Power Cost ($/kWh) at 0.3
1 bitcoin is 372 just  for the electricity ATM.
Cry so sad for them miner there

Selling pressure doesn't reduce because a few miners stop mining. Bitcoin mining is linear, and the rate of production is constant, so logically, another miner will be there to mine the coin and reap the reward. if bitcoin dies, i will mine and hoard them all and revive it. I'm sure there are a couple thousand other people who would still be here, helping me. We're the bitcoin lifer's you see, while many are just here for the buck, not even understanding the technology's basic principles, we are here for the long term, for better or for worse. I was here when bitcoin was 30 dollars, i'll be here when its 3000 dollars

Hello everyone! Our team wants to create new perfect and perspective BITCOIN EXCHANGE. We ask you to share with us your opinion, ideas about exchanges that you know: their advantages that you like, disadvantages, which are annoying you. Thank you for your answer.

Use HMAC(Or other MAC based Signing Algorithm) To sign API calls, with a timebased nnonce. It's a good way to rate limit your api and stop bruteforcers. also enforce strict call limits and ip bans. white list only known applications. make users have to request access manually, and optionally only from verified accounts. Anyone who refuses to verify their identity only wants access to your api for one thing: to hack it. Don't be stupid like mintpal, myself and many others. Do like cryptsy and arm your application to the teeth with Hacker crushing diamond tipped razorblades.

Also, pay for a security audit of your code up front. Don't trust the developers to deliver you bulletproof code. They may deliver swisscheese disguised as gold. If it looks pretty, don't trust it.

price is continuing to fall which means 1 of 2 things:

bear trap

bitcoin dying

either one is as likely to be the truth at this point.

354  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: First Bitcoin Experience? on: September 28, 2014, 12:16:17 PM
I first heard about bitcoin in 2011. i downloaded the wallet software and installed it. i opened and ran it and it was so slow. i closed it and forgot about it for years. i was convinced it was just a scam. then in 2013 i saw a news story about it, and ive been around here, for better or worse, ever since.
355  Other / Meta / Re: Question about Bitcoin Scammers on: September 28, 2014, 12:08:13 PM
I see lot of posters on this forum with this under their username

Trust: -4: -1 / +0(0)
Warning: Trade with extreme caution!

Can someone explain what these numbers mean?  I seen this in quite a few posters.  The thing is i see they still have logged on recently so wouldn't that mean they aren't scammers b/c a scammer wouldn't even log on to that account anymore?  I'm confused.
It all depends. It means that the person has done something untrustworthy. For the most part these are your basic scammers, ripping people off for their coins. In some cases, its just people doing something dishonest, like breaking a contract or not fulfilling a contract fully. These aren't scammers, but they are distrustworthy. at any rate, you shouldn't trade with people on the forums at all. even if you establish a relationship with someone on skype and think they are your friend, you should never trust anyone online ever. Don't make any deals without escrow. Some scammers have admitted their wrong doing and repented and/or paid back their debts. Most have not. This does not mean you can trust the ones who have paid back, it just means that they either paid it back out of a guilty conscience or are turning over a new leaf, but it does not make them trustworthy.

How is it debatable? From everything i saw, he took the money claimed a hack, then got scared and made a partial payback to his customers. So where'd all the money come from he used to payback the customers, if all of the money was indeed stole in the hack? the facts didn't add up on that one, atleast that's my opinion on the matter.

Is there a website being built for OSC?  If not, I would like to volunteer to build one in HTML5 and offer the hosting as well.  I reached out to Bryce about building a site for OSC, he said sure but I don't have a way to DM him.  Please PM me.

i just renewed the domain this morning. if you're serious, hit me up and i'll hook you up with ftp access.

Isn't it interesting that the church doesn't like free speech when people choose to oppose them, but embraces free speech with great enthusiasm when it likes to spew out it's hate and bile against homosexuality for example.

Isn't that interesting. Cheesy

Actually, no.  Only a tiny minority of people who call themselves Christians spew out hate and bile against homosexuality, as the basic tenets of the religion aren't very oriented toward propagating hate and bile...

Exactly! A tiny minority. The same as the tiny minority that stick their cocks in religious statues.
So why all the hand wringing over it in this thread?
I think that both have their right to their opinion and both have the right to protest when the other group is not advocating ideas that they agree with. Yes what this kid did was very immature and likely will not ever get anything changed what he disagrees with but he was within his rights to express himself this way

I agree with everything but the last part. he was not within his rights. He was trespassing, and desecrating a venerated object.
360  Economy / Speculation / Re: when will btc be 1000 dollars again? on: September 17, 2014, 01:24:17 AM
Up hundreds of % from a year ago still. Expect $1k again soon

Winter is coming

You're more optimistic then i am. I was thinking we might stay in the 400 to 500 bounce for the next 6 months atleast. I really don't see another wave of mass adoption hitting anytime soon, and the chinese seem to have lost interest in hording BTC
