341  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LTZ] LitecoinZ - The true Litecoin 2.0 on: January 20, 2018, 01:52:55 PM
It is likely a hot trend, by now we have had BitcoinZ , Litecoin Z. then in the future we might have Ethereum Z, Dash Z, MoneroZ, etc.

Could be Wink zksnarks developers team made an excellent work for anonymity and equihash algo killed ASIC farms and made again mining coins decentralized

Hey dev, people are getting confused because you're linking to the node, not the wallet -- https://github.com/litecoinz-project/litecoinz-wallet

I linked the instrunction of the node because the wallet is just a Java GUI and doesn't work without a node,

From the README.md:

Windows
Download Windows release binary here
Download parameter file here and uncompress the content inside the folder "C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\LitecoinZParams"
Manually edit the litecoinz.conf file inside the folder "C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\LitecoinZ"
Run litecoinzd.exe

Do you need a Wallet GUI?
A Java Wallet GUI is available here.

I know it could be written better and I will create a new one detailed only for windows. but at least Newbies should give him a reading Wink

Maybe it's because I'm new to crypto, but I failed to see why LTZ is better than ZEC?

Not necessarily better, but different. How is it different than ZCash?

Is it even competing with ZCash?

no one said LTZ is better than other coins. It's another coin. That's all

How is it different then? Why would people use it instead of ZCash?

I made to you a question... why could people use all other forks of the coin you mentioned? If you check on the github almost all equihash coins are a fork of it.

Im all about a new coin succeeding. I dont believe this to be a scam coin "yet" and im willing to give it a chance. Very hard to be a scam coin without a way to sell it, its not on any exchanges yet. And the premined in error 250k coins in the grand scheme is not enough to put it in the scam category.

So ill give it a chance and mine for awhile hoping for some movement. All coins start someplace. I do think the Dev team, Dev needs to give us some sort of road map...what the plan for exchanges etc? Is this a community coin or a dev coin etc.

Thank you. The roadmap is being prepared and I will put it on the LTZ website. I apologize to everyone, but I did not think it was necessary a public roadmap as it is on Bitcoin and on Litecoin I did not find a roadmap. However, I apologize for my ingenuity and I promise it will be available soon.
How about GUI windows wallet , which is easier than the current wallet, been released? Thanks dev.

Good question Smiley The GUI is under development, but it is not easy to do everything without having a second of peace. LOL

Why are the pool blocks no matching the block sizes minus the fee. Shouldn't every block be 49.9 Numbers are all over the place and different every time. Where is the difference going? Dev?
And it is the same for every pool mining this coin

LTZ has no devs fees, and looking quickly at that blockchain I see no issue: https://ltzexplorer.magnificentpool.com/block/0000000a6d3ccf1871b175f805f05ebb38ad868b0f07739533008b92997fa206

Could you provide some block hash to check?
349  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LTZ] LitecoinZ - The true Litecoin 2.0 on: January 19, 2018, 12:30:21 AM
I was told about 250 000 premine in discord. Let's go guys, there is nothing to do here )))

250,000 are coins not block! only 5000 blocks were mined before launch. After launch ~1900 new blocks were mined from miners. Thus as you can see there is much more that you can do here, if you are really interested to do it Wink

Let me do German translation please

Dear Headshotsepp,

thanks for you help. You could start forking official repo https://github.com/litecoinz-project/litecoinz and create a tranlation of the README.md file (eg README-de.md). When ready you can create a pull request to the official repo.

If someone else would like to do the same in other laguages are welcomed.

Thanks so much!

352  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LTZ] LitecoinZ - The true Litecoin 2.0 on: January 18, 2018, 05:55:05 PM
Interesting coin, in my opinion! But I want to learn more about this amazing coin, where is your roadmap?

Since it's evidently the true Litecoin + zk, maybe it = whatever LTC does + whatever ZEC does - time to amalgamate

That said, the repo has been busy but surprised to see keeping exact same major. minor.patch as Zcash. Not interesting coin to me but then again, I was that guy that thought 2014 was the time to dump all my BTC Sad

Check better our code on github. We have some more pull request not yet implemented in ZEC and we are working on backports from Bitcoin 0.12+

We are also working on a native QT interface missed in others ZEC forks

We are open to new ideas, so if you have some let us know or, if you are a developer and you like to contribute, start to develop them by yourself pulling the code on out repo.

Thanks

357  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LTZ] LitecoinZ - The true Litecoin 2.0 on: January 18, 2018, 01:52:45 PM
We're finding a block every 4-5 minutes on https://equipool.1ds.us/getting_started

Let's give this coin a chance! Smiley

Thanks Smiley

We hope that every person in this community, instead of just criticizing or comparing this project to others (where the porting is nothing more than a copy and paste even without changing the name to executables), could contribute to its success, with suggestions new features, support for development and help us running nodes and seeds for having a full decentralization.

Can we get a couple of updates to the ANN thread?

1. Detailed instructions for how to set up a wallet on Windows. I've received a lot of requests for help with this but I run on Linux and can only help a little bit.
2. A list of pools where people can mine this coin? While I don't mind posting in here every once in a while, I don't want to spam the thread to make sure people are aware my pool is available.

Windows setup wallet is described on https://github.com/litecoinz-project/litecoinz/blob/master/README.md

Could you please take a quick look at this document and check it more instructions are needed?

About the pool, because they many of these are not "official" I'm a little bit scared of sponsor them until good user feedbacks. What happen if they don't give back to miners coins? People could think LTZ is guilty... do you agree with this worry ? Wink

Thanks

If you say "Pools where you can mine LTZ", people shouldn't assume that the coin has anything to do with any pool.

Done Smiley BTW what about the README.md? Is it enought for windows users or do you think they need more details?
