341  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cock fight game on: November 25, 2022, 08:13:14 PM
It's awful when in plain XXI Century people still support animal fights. It is even more despicable having someone making money from that. Cock fight is just like a dog fight, it is f%$7&in&/%$/%&$ horrendous. I apologize to tell you but, people who favour this sort of activity should be behind bars for life.
I personally despize people who support animal abuse. I mean, what is wrong with people!? We already enslave animals on industrialized farms. Every day thousands of animals die so that we can eat. Isn't that enough?

Now, animal fights only exist due to the people who place bets, so if you are one of those, I strongly encourage you to refrain from doing so. We have come to a phase in our Human development, where we do not need that sort of savagery anymore. It is not just wars... How the hell are we supposed to build a better world for our children when things like this are not banned?
342  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Qatar world cup Final Predictions on: November 25, 2022, 06:32:55 PM
incredibly, no one is predicting to see Portugal coming to the final. Well, I'm portuguese, and I do not believe that Portugal willeven go to the quarter finals. In my view Portugal is not a steady team and Ronaldo is already a 3rd age player that cannot play the whole game. Of course that I would like to see them conquer the cup, specially because this would bring one more record to Ronaldo, but I'm afraid chances are pretty slim.
343  Economy / Gambling discussion / Qatar world cup Final Predictions on: November 25, 2022, 02:55:22 PM
I thought we should start a thread where we could speculate about who would be the teams meeting in this year's Soccer world Cup final.

I was innitially predicting to see England vs Germany at the final, but the wway Germany demonstrated to have their team, it doesn't seem to me that they will get too far.

From what I have seen from the first matches, I believe there is a strong chance of seeing a Spain vs England match at the final of the world cup.

So, what are your predictions???

Keep them coming!
344  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Buy Bitcoin before the banks and governments do on: November 25, 2022, 08:52:55 AM
Old fashined governments are still struggling with the idea and what Bitcoin represents. For them, it threatens their stability and control and their monetary policy. So, if they want to keep their control, they will either buy into it or they will severely restrict it by creating heavy regulation specifically designed to prevent the average joe to buy it.
345  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will the Government use the Blockchain as a tool for control? on: November 25, 2022, 08:26:04 AM
~
Ok, so you went straight to the point. Governments do not want to have anything with it as it is a decentralized technology and they like to stay in control. As you say, they won't even want to use blockchain for their CBDCs... so in that sense, what would they use this technology for?
Well it depends on the country and their government, each of them are very different based on their own geography and economy.
For example when Venezuelan created their own CBDC called Petro it was meant to basically raise funds and make some money for the government that was running low on budget. It failed because of that.
When Chinese created their own CBDC it was meant to be used for fact payments and to compete with bitcoin adoption. It only gained success after they started limiting people's usage of bitcoin.
There are other cases but they are not released yet but the one we are working on is meant to be used for import/exports based on my speculation (which can be wrong) but we have to wait for them to be released.

Well, that's why CBDCs can spell disaster for Bitcoin. Once governments start implementing their CBDCs they will surely limit the access to Bitcoin by using the government's digital coin. Many governments want to restrict the use of Bitcoin and that is the order of the day in many countries. Bitcoin threatns their control and they will regulate at their own pleasure to restrict access to cryptos.
346  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will Ethereum keep its leadership in the crypto smart contract industry? on: November 25, 2022, 08:20:39 AM
I think Ethereum has had an interrupted reign in smart contract and it has large amounts of users of its smart contract. But even before the merger happened the Ethereum network started to see less patronage than it use to get before. Back then it was so much that the network gets congested. I think this downward spiral has to do with the transactions fee on Ethereum.

Ethereum high transactions fee was slowly reducing the amount of people using because there are other networks that has good transactions speed and very affordable fee than the Ethereum network. Now with the decentralization going away on the merger I don’t know how much longer Ethereum can hang up on its position.

BUt that's exactly where it shows it is not neither will be ever a good network. Ethereum always had the problem of incredibly high fees and to solve that it had to rely on other cheaper and faster networks to have it done in the cheapest way. The eth network has to rely on sidechains and Layer two solutions to be able to provide a cheap and fast network. So, basically, ethereum would not work if it wasn't for other solutions. If it can't solve what we need to have solved it is not a good network and will replaced by a new and better network very soon.
347  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Will Ethereum keep its leadership in the crypto smart contract industry? on: November 24, 2022, 07:29:19 PM
The Ethereum blockchain is currently the most used blockchain when it comes to Smart contract, NFT and Metaverse development. It achieved its leadership while it was still a decentralized network.

Unfortunately, right after the merge, Ethereum lost its decentralized feature and is now one of the most centralized cryptocurrency projects in the industry.

Given that we're going through a debate opposing Centralized vs Decentralized, do you think that Ethereum will still keep ahead of the competition? Aren't there a lot of chances of Ethereum being overcome by an alternative decentralized network?

What is your take on this matter?
348  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The History of Bingo on: November 24, 2022, 06:30:24 PM
In Spain it was quite a popular game, but I would say that nowadays it is played less and less, and the last blow was the pandemic. According to what I heard, the first decline was when smoking was banned in bingos. In the old days, the smoker who was addicted to bingo would spend the whole night playing, chaining one cigarette after another and combining it with alcohol.

Now with online gambling, it's a game that young people don't play, and in any case, if they ever do, it will be online, but very rarely.

Same in Portugal. It was losing its ground before the pandemic as it was only popular among older folks. Besides, a lot of Casinos opened in the country and this also hugely affected bingo houses. The regulation for tobacco was also pretty destructive to Bingo houses but they were still able to survive after that. Once the heavy regulations that was put in place due to the pandemic was lifted Bingos got a lot of affluence once again, but as said they were not able to captivate the interest of yonger people. Young people lost their interest in Bingo as soon as online gambling was made possible.
349  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA 2022 world cup on: November 24, 2022, 06:21:29 PM
The match between Portugal and Gana was also a great game. Portugal had to struggle a little bit with the African team. The struggle was such that for instances I thought the game would come to a draw.

I have to say that Gana did a surprising match and that they are a team that can cause some concerns.
All and all Portugal ended up having the best, but Gana was a strong opponent. with their quality of football, I guess they will go far.
350  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will the Government use the Blockchain as a tool for control? on: November 24, 2022, 02:55:26 PM
10 years ago, blockchain was just the technology behind Bitcoin, a currency used by the Drug lords in illegal markets on the Dark Web.
Bitcoin was never any of that!
At some point around 2013 the illegal usage began to grow because some newbies were lied to about bitcoin's anonymity but even then bitcoin was not a currency that is used for illegal activities.

the hypothetical implementation of CBDCs,
It is not hypothetical when a handful of CBDCs are created and in use and more are in testing phase ready to be deployed.

blockchain technology has been highly regarded as a technology that can be used by the government to help them with financial policies and a lot more.
Has it really? I don't think so. Some government have jumped on the hype wagon but not to help them with "financial policies".

Quote
Rather than that, they will use it as a tool for control and monetary policy,
But the governments are already in full control of the monetary policy. What do you think CBDCs are going to change?

Quote
How do you see governments making use of the blockchain technology in a few years?
I don't think governments have any use for blockchain technology because this technology only works best in decentralized mode but the governments want to centralize that which means it makes no sense in their hands.
This is also why CBDCs aren't considered "cryptocurrencies" and some of them don't even use the technology. After all D stands for digital...

Ok, so you went straight to the point. Governments do not want to have anything with it as it is a decentralized technology and they like to stay in control. As you say, they won't even want to use blockchain for their CBDCs... so in that sense, what would they use this technology for?

351  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A reminder about the media on: November 24, 2022, 08:53:21 AM
I'd like to remind those of you who feel wear down by the  market and the media headlines make them feel even worse.
You wake up, check the news and get served a bunch of FUD about bitcoin. Then you go to youtube and get another dose because most bitcoiners there turned into bearish haters.
Here's a quick reminder that they're wrong every time and always follow the trend.

Bitcoin due to hit $90K 'in coming weeks' despite pullback — Latest technical analysis
https://cointelegraph.com/news/bitcoin-due-to-hit-90k-in-coming-weeks-despite-pullback-latest-technical-analysis

Stay strong and don't follow the media Cool

You should actually pay attention to the news. It is more than known that usually they just produce FUD content. However, it can actually be very helpful information as you should do exactly the opposite of what the news tell you and you should be in the money.

Big investor groups control the news, so the usual trader or user will shake everytime he hears the news and his actions will also be influenced by the news. That's how they play it, so you should hear the news and do precisely the contrary.
352  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How many of you believe in Litecoin? on: November 24, 2022, 08:18:38 AM
I like Litecoin as I use it for transfers but I don't hold a lot of it. I believe on it that it will eventually have its time to shine again. Honestly, I'm happy to see it back at top 13 and might go higher soon. Because the last time I've seen it, was it's like around top 24 or higher than that rank.

Before thinking of it going to $500, it should take time to be around $150-$300 and be stable there. And it will happen based on how bitcoin will move too.

Yes, Litecoin is one of the most useful coins when it comes to transfers. Its super fast and its transactions cost is very cheap. I have also use it for doing transactions exactly beacuase it has this great property. Comparing with stable coins it is lightningn fast,  its safer and as cheap as.
353  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will the Government use the Blockchain as a tool for control? on: November 24, 2022, 08:11:10 AM
CBDCs are already here, it’s no secret that governments around the world who were anti-bitcoin and even those who were on the fence about cryptocurrency are now publicly having discussions about CBDCs.
Like they say, a good thing in the hands of a bad man could very well be used for evil. The most common use of blockchain for government would be electoral process and health care sector, which in my opinion is a very good development. I don’t see how they can use blockchain technology to further their wars and make bombs. The blockchain is an open book so I think any malicious act that may be attempted could easily be traced back to the source thus discouraging such actions.

I do not think that governments around the world are interested in using blockchain technology to improve the electoral process. If they did they were already using it, as we already have the means and tech do do it. Besides, using it this way would not allow them to manipulate elections, which I think they always do. As for the health industry, proposals are being done and there are already a few projects specifically dedicated to this industry as is the case of VEchain.
354  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Will the Government use the Blockchain as a tool for control? on: November 23, 2022, 09:06:27 PM
10 years ago, blockchain was just the technology behind Bitcoin, a currency used by the Drug lords in illegal markets on the Dark Web.
Today, the blockchain is seen as one of the technological wonders of our time. The way blockchain technology has been seen by society has been growing along the years. From the slums of the dark web to the hypothetical implementation of CBDCs, blockchain technology has been highly regarded as a technology that can be used by the government to help them with financial policies and a lot more.

In a few years, we will probably see the entry of CBDCs as state digital currencies supported by the blockchain technology, but this will not be something good. Rather than that, they will use it as a tool for control and monetary policy, so I do not think that what they want to do with it will benefit society. Much to the contrary, they already know what the potential of this technology actually is, and they will use it for something nefarious.

How do you see governments making use of the blockchain technology in a few years?
355  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / How many of you believe in Litecoin? on: November 23, 2022, 08:23:04 PM
Litecoin has always been one of my favourite cryptos. It was the first crypto after Bitcoin, and it was the third crypto I mined first.

Nowadays, I do not mine cryptos any more, but I'm still hoarding Litecoin as I believe I will still make 10x or plus more than what I have invested. After Bitcoin, for me, it is the best.

So, how many of you still believe in Litecoin and think we will still see it go past the $500 mark again?
356  Economy / Gambling / Re: Crypto raffle game idea | feedback required on: November 23, 2022, 06:50:18 PM
Looks good. Its not that there's many people interested in raffles but I guess that as a business model it looks great.
I would only add, as someone aleady pointed out, to use the blockchain to get to the winners. Instead of using some random software, you can use the BTC blockchain.
357  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA 2022 world cup on: November 23, 2022, 06:40:38 PM
wow, Spain vs Costa Rica was a heck of a game. One more surprise in the World cup.

Spain was very powerful and simply smashed Costa Rica. The spanish squad was way superior and demonstrated they are a team to fear. For the looks of it, they will go to the next phase ahead in the group. Spain is very promissing and should go way further in the cup. We can maybe see it on the finals.

What do you guys think?
358  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: November 23, 2022, 02:29:33 PM
Ok so, Manchester is going through a rough phase. They already released Cristiano Ronaldo and the club is now for sale. Cristiano is apparently dealing with Real Madrid and they might just grab him. As for Manchester, there is still no one interested in buying the club. Will be this the end of Manchester United?
359  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: USDT or BNB? on: November 23, 2022, 02:21:03 PM
I guess that if it is to be used as an investment, BNB will be a better option as it is extremely undervalued at this point and will most probably have more than a 2x increase once the market enter its Bull phase. On the other Hand, USDT can give you an edge if you are looking to increase the number of coins you have portfolio.
360  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New play to earn games that actaully earn you coins on: November 23, 2022, 02:18:23 PM
You can get a few coins from GODS UNCHAINED. It is not a new game but they recently added daily rewards which allows us to get a lot more earnigs. Thing is, you will need to lose some time and play a lot to earn good cards a build a good deck.

Once you are able to build a strong deck, it will be easier to get rewards.
