Transaction malleability (by itself) can't be exploited to steal, that's just the nature of the problem. So silk road 2.0 are either not competent or not being truthful, or both. There's more to this story.
They are absolutely incompetent for keeping all of the funds in "hot storage" knowing fully well of the malleability issue.

I'm pretty sure that these same gold dealers will sooner or later change their mind on bitcoin and start accepting it as a means of exchange.. especially when the fiat currencies become obsolete.. no gold dealer will wanna accept wall/toilet paper for gold! https://coinreport.net/digital-currency-gold/

When will New York update their Regulations for Bitcoin?
I think sometime this summer or at the end of this year
|
|
|
Main purpose behind regulating is that the governments around the world wanna setup a fence around the digital currencies and then monitor everyone.. https://coinreport.net/ny-existing-regulations-bitcoin/"At the Washington conference, Fincen director Jennifer Shasky Calvery, said that there are a lot of digital currency exchanges that are not registered on the Fincen network. Companies who have registered are “doing a great job” by reporting any suspicious activities/transactions..."

That's Avalon.. they were a total scam.. i feel sorry for anyone that fell for them. (not to say that bfl is far off with their reputation in the gutters... )

bloomberg is too dramatic ..

I think it's for the best you found about it now as when it was first announced you would of paid a much higher price than you would be paying at this moment haha i like your perspective! I did use this plunge in prices as an opportunity to buy a few more bitcoins

This is pretty much old news now. Lots of threads about it here. is it? i must've missed it

BTC-e is not in Russia.
Never said it was...
|
|
|
What would be illegal about it, and do they actually do that?
It is illegal. Because, those mining rigs don't belong to them. They should just manufacture the devices and then ship them to their customers. Yes. They do that regularly. There were some threads here a few months ago. Links? You sure it just wasn't FUD? How could they prove they were being used? I'm not too sure if BFL was using their customers miners to mine for themselves.. that's quite a statement.. and if true.. BFL deserves the law suits that they're getting.

Earlier, the exchange rates used to be:
Gox > Bitstamp > BTC - E
Now, it is:
BTC - E > Bitstamp > Gox
Again it is confirmed that BTC-E is the most reliable exchange.
I'm looking more towards Bitstamp for the latest trade prices. But BTC-e is a good exchange.. i hope russia doesn't go crazy on them

It is a shame, however, how Mt. Gox has caused the market to falter.
I'm using this opportunity to buy a few more bitcoins and have been telling my friends the same (of course that is if it makes sense to them)... people need to realize that the best time to buy is when an asset with great fundamentals like bitcoin is coming down in price (especially for mtgox reasons). This to me is a bargain at current prices... prices might fall a bit more but it's still good time to be buying in my opinion. +1...I always try to buy on bad news. and that's the best way to buy

Patrick Byrne is slowly winning my heart.
I think i know exactly what you mean... at first i thought this guy just wanted some publicity with bitcoin.. but i think it's a lot more than that.. he just might genuinely wanna support it all the way

Nice i like patrick i think he's on to something good!

hits just keep on coming.. https://coinreport.net/drugs-bought-sweden/of course this magnitude of illicit act would never make it on any news network had the dealing been done with Fiat currency... looks like authorities all around the world are having a fields day with bitcoin lately.. whatever gets them on news i suppose...
