I here all you mining geeks hate on masternodes. It's high time you get with the times and evolve with it or be left with your dust.

Yes!

deep onion has the most posts in my watch list. when i sign in to bitcointalk, deeponion always shows up with new posts. i can always count on deep onion being in my watch list with new posts unlike all the other projects i am following. this is a great sign that the community here is very active which means a shit ton of positive growth/support for this project.

343  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Was Satoshi's coding ability considered bad? on: June 17, 2018, 05:08:55 AM
It was pretty good: I'd give it a grade of B+. The worst problem was that there were only a few, huge files, but if you ignored that then it made a lot of sense. It was written in (then-)modern C++, clearly with a lot of care. It was clearly not written in a stream-of-consciousness manner. There were very few bugs that you could blame on lack of programming skill.

My personal suspicion in this area is that Satoshi was never (or not recently) a full-time programmer, but he was pretty familiar with computer science (maybe a student or academic?), and he'd read some comprehensive C++ book just before starting on Bitcoin, so he made full and correct usage of C++ features in a slightly messy way.

Agree.

Another important fact to consider is that satoshi never meant to roll out the code in 2009. His/her/they chose correctly to take advantage of the 2007/2008 US led monetary crash which caused the highest level of distrust in government to enter at that date and move forward perfecting the code.

the best advice that you will receive if you are thinking about mining: expect to get frustrated and do not expect to get ROI

any thoughts on the z9 mini? will they get a roi worth the risk?
345  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Advice for somebody thinking of starting to mine? on: June 17, 2018, 04:26:25 AM
I have been helping run a 25+ PC mine that owns some rigs of our own and hosts other rigs that we order and build for customers. Has been about 5 months going strong. Here are some points I tell people that want to start mining. This all applies to non-ASIC mining.

- Have a good group of people that mine who are willing to help you out with advice/question answering.

- Have a want to improve your knowledge of new coins, mining software, and techniques other enthusiast miners are using. There will be some days where you want to give up. You will probably put in hours changing settings in a computer and the issue will not be resolved. Some computers will simply not work sometimes. It is good to have spare parts sitting around so you can replace parts. I have replaced every single part of a computer to ensure I had no bad parts, and it still did not work. I ended up putting EthOS in the rig and it worked. Might have been a Windows installation issue. Still not 100% sure

- Cooling will be around 25% of your electricity costs. It is very important to keep the computers cool for the longevity of the computer's life. Sometimes the GPU fans will literally warp and will affect the Hashrate of the GPU because it is not getting the airflow it needs. The GPU will eventually completely die without proper cooling.

- Dust. Keep your space clean. Also important for the longevity of the GPU.

- Electricity cost in residential areas are ridiculous. Call your Electricity provider and see if they have a payment plan that is better than the one you currently have.

- Do you have enough circuits to support the amount of PCs you will use? When I started mining in my house, sometimes a blowdryer would trip the circuit breaker, or even multiple breakers. If your electricity lines are old they will be less efficient and get hot, resulting in both energy loss and fire hazard.

- Be sure to cash out when you feel like a genius for mining a certain coin. Unless you are already well off, cash out a little bit every now and then to cover your costs.

- Mining is loud and hot. People often don't understand how loud and hot it really is. Be sure your spouse is ok with it XD

That's about all I got now.

Be sure to keep up to date with new mining software and techniques people are using. For example, some coins will announce a fork in a week, and if you don't update your miner before the fork you won't be able to mine it.

Good luck! Let me know if you decide to use any of this advice Smiley

Thanks for the list!

I laughed hard when you said the bolded part - - - so true!

I just checked out that on the pool
it is more profitable to own than a solo
up to +20%

https://simplepospool.com/

super Linda POS poll
(3% fee, but there got for about 20% more than solo)

this winter think linda - 100+- sat

I agree. The one click mobile master node will be interesting to watch how it evolves. If the team can pull it off, expect 100 sats to be the low end.

thanks for the info, I'm new to this project and the industry, excited to learn.

Welcome to linda. The community keeps getting larger.

wow, the liquidity is horrible. It keeps going down. What gives?

Volume traded and liquidity are not interchangeable terms.  Roll Eyes

Volume traded is the only snap shot that an investor can make to liquidate their funds if needed. Yes, looking at the btc buy orders are another way
but as you know, those buy walls can and will be removed as people sell off only to put buy orders lower in the satoshi value hence lowering the true
liquidity value one can expect.

If you want to exit, JL has (last I checked) close to 60BTC worth of buy orders near market on Barterdex. Should be more than ample liquidity for you.
[/b][/size]

lol, not even close. why do you think i post here and give my opinion? i have a vested interest in the success of kmd. maybe you kmd people should give a little more respect for those that actually invested more than 7 figures instead of thgose that hold dust or even got free kmd!

So you have a large bag, quit bitching and actually work on improving the future prospects of KMD.

lol, if you only knew...

And maybe instead of bitching on some random forum (and using words/phrases that you don't actually understand the meanings to), you should use those millions of USD to provide liquidity and set an example for the rest of the millionaires (that wouldn't even know where to find this forum) and show us poor bastids that only had "working wages" to invest how it's done....

I have purchased more in the last 24hrs than binance and bittrex combined

but there are just not many people willing to sell at current prices.

so you bought 69% of all volume, lol Cheesy Cheesy

Volume traded is an indicator of volume traded and not tied to liquidity at all.

If there are 100 BTC worth of buy orders and 1 million KMD in sell orders, then there is liquidity ("how easily assets can be converted"); however, if the 2 sets don't meet in the middle, then there is low/no trade volume during a period of much liquidity.
Conversely, there can be a billion trades of the same 10 coins, during a period of low liquidity, that will produce a high "volume traded" amount (a perfect example of this is last Nov with UNIT coin when Craptopia used bots and microtrades to jack up the "volume" and the price by 3000x and the entire market [both buy and sell combined] was less than 0.5 BTC because they hadn't even allowed deposits yet).

I agree. Furthermore, these same 10 btc disappear when a sell off takes place. The bottom line is to have millions of traded volume when a project is on multiple exchanges.

I do agree that I or you could go on an exchange and buy our sells and sell our buys causing an artificial "liquidity" number. Point taken
355  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: | STRATIS | The first blockchain developed for businesses |Full POS on: June 16, 2018, 11:40:44 AM
Personally I'm just picking up a constant flow of STRAT. There is blood on the streets, the prices are dirt cheap and I love to increase my bags.  Cheesy I saw a couple of guys here selling STRAT for buying bitcoin green and staking that instead of STRAT. lol Besides them I trade shitcoins and pump them profits into this blue chip coin. I'm not selling STRAT for anything. Wink

I am not selling my stratis. However, I am buying bitcoin green. Stratis could be called a shit coin also along with the entire crypto landscape. Promises on paper is no different than a "shit coin" as you described. There is a place for a lot of projects as the ecosystem evolves. Masternodes are the future.

It will be necessary to study in more detail the project itself and team if it is. I wonder what the project plans and goals, as well as methods of implementation and implementation. The coin may be issued purely for speculative purposes and does not carry anything of value. But a lot of good reviews from beginners. I wonder what it is, they are paid for it or not?

This project is evolving to be a game changer. I'm not saying it will replace btc but I am saying that bitcoin green has a place in the crypto ecosystem.

Lets face it, btc's energy consumption to maintain the network consumes more energy than most 3rd world countries. Solar, wind and other non-pollutant
energy sources are needed. Staking is that direction to go. As bitcoin grows, it will have to make a choice regarding the energy consumption. Who
knows what the dev will do. All I know is bitcoin green has the correct idea. The community keeps growing.

I'm not an investor that comes on bitcointalk to shill a project for personal gain. I love the direction of this project and invested in it. The future direction
and adoption of bitcoin green depends on the community. I would like to see the dev visit this thread more often and dialog with all of us.

The specs are great also. 21m total coins and only 3m coins in circulation. That's a winner to me. Add the masternodes and the project elevates even more.
It would be nice to be on other exchanges but that takes time and lots of btc to bride these centralized exchanges. Dex exchanges are the future.

I say , look, read and decide for yourself if this project fits your risk level. If it does, great! Jump in and buy some and start staking. If you are not comfortable, no problem - read more and see if anything sparks your level of interest enough to enter the green community.

hip hop and away...
