341  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] Amazon Coin - Unlimited and 100% Premined! Only ONE WAY TRADING. on: February 21, 2014, 08:18:06 AM
Its not a scam, its just Amazon exploiting the Bitcoin popularity and selling gift cards wrapped in a digital coin shape. Yes you get 10% discount on the App.
342  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / [ANN] Amazon Coin - Unlimited and 100% Premined! Only ONE WAY TRADING. on: February 21, 2014, 07:36:40 AM
I just wanted to start this thread so we can make fun of discuss Amazon's attempt to utilize people's confusion about digital currency and profit. So Amazon has made these "coins" that are basically "gift cards" you PAY REAL FIAT MONEY to buy and they have zero resale value. You can never ever sell them. Why The F would anyone buy these coins? Well stupid people are everywhere and they would.

There is no mining and there is no algorithm.

Very white paper. Such class. Many greed.

Amazon even made a Logo for it!!

Image used under copyright fair use.

Premine:

100% by Amazon!

Pools
None! Easy!

Exchanges
None.
Trading uses the latest Crypto technology that is ONE WAY. You can only BUY this coin but you cant SELL it. And there is only one place you can buy this and thats Amazon themselves. No exchanges. Have some coins and want to sell? sorry, You can only BUY this coin you can NEVER EVER sell it. This is just like a GIFT CARD but you can only buy apps with it.

Faucets
None

Promotions
Millions of Android phones automatically got updated to show this coin.

---

And you thought some crapcoin developers on bitcointalk are scammers? think again. What really gets me is the LOGO and creating confusion about digital currency. Amazon could've simply called these "gift cards" and not "coins" and not create logo like an altcoin.

Amazon, please reconsider this attempt. No so classy.
343  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Alt coins to avoid? on: February 21, 2014, 06:26:39 AM

No Guts, No Glory!

Though I prefer to invest in coins that have survived for more than 6mths.

I say Bitcoin, Worldcoin, Vertcoin are worth investing, in that order for both risk and reward!

WorldCOIN?Huh that has one of the worst reputations here. lol
344  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Alt coins to avoid? on: February 21, 2014, 06:26:04 AM
You dont avoid or not avoid. I dont know what you mean by avoid. Are you going to hang out with coins? Are you going to EAT them? Are you going to pass by them in a narrow hallway? Maybe its a language barrier.

You mine these shitcoins based on momentary profitability (find using coinwarz etc). Then as you mine you convert to BTC and every few hours you switch coins. For every MH/S you should be able to make 0.010BTC/day. And 0.015BTC if you spend hours and hours reading and finding new coins on these forums. Thats all that matters.

Altcoins are temporary tools to make you BTC using Graphic Cards. Thats all they are. Pure tool, solid junk. They are designed to pull those precious BTCs out of the hands of those who were smart enough to mine BTC in 2009.

NONE of these ALTCOINs will be a "currency" in the future. Well BTC, DOGE will and maybe LTC.

Once you mined the most profitable altcoin, and converted to BTC. Then you can think about if you want to buy an ALTCOIN or keep the BTC (aka avoid altcoins) . You will lose a lot of money on PAND garbage before you hit one DOGE and make 10% so be careful with trading.
345  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][NYAN] NyanCoin - ★★★V1.2 Released! KGW Implemented! MANDATORY UPDATE ★★★ on: February 21, 2014, 06:07:30 AM
I also think KGW sucks because when difficulty is low, BIG HASH RATE jumps in and difficulty does NOT rise quickly so they mine TONS AND TONS of coins really fast and dump them on an exchange and leave. If they suddenly and eventually leave then difficulty does not come fast enough and stays high.
346  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][NYAN] NyanCoin - ★★★V1.2 Released! KGW Implemented! MANDATORY UPDATE ★★★ on: February 21, 2014, 06:04:21 AM
I have used several markets and I think the order goes like this:

BTER.com <-- Solid, lots of users.
coinmarket.io <-- Best user interface, fast, solid, responsive but doesn't have many coins
CoinedUp.com <-- fast, lots of trades, user interface needs TONS of work
...
...
...
AllCoin.com <- Holds deposits for hours, user interface looks nice
...
...
...
Cryptsy <- Tons of users, (but it may be faking the transactions like Wall Street does, Google "Program Trading" if you don't know what that is)Holds deposits for days and sometimes never arrive unless you show proof with TX ID.
347  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Darkcoin remains incredible stable despite Bitcoin and Altcoin crash on: February 21, 2014, 01:58:54 AM
So that means dark is a better coin???

So then memory coin is 5 times better then lol.

All these coins are the same crap until they are directly traded for USD Euro etc. Fiat still rules because a private entity doesn't create them (like dark), but governments do and they are owned by the people collectively.
348  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Premines and why they are bad on: February 21, 2014, 01:40:32 AM
It's funny when I see people say 1% or 0.5% is ok but 5% is too much.

Guys! 0.5% premined of one coin could be worth 1,000,000x more than even 1% premined of another coin. It really depends on how long the coin will be mined until finished. If a coin takes 400 years compared to another that takes 42 weeks to be fully mined.

Another funny excuse is promotion. Bitcoin was not premined and yet it took the world by storm.

But again to developers point, if your don't like it don't mine it dint trade it. That's the beauty of unregulated world. Developers can lie cheat hide steal, there is no regulation. But isn't that what the entire community was dying to achieve? Freedom from regulation and central control and governments? And still when your coins vanish from the exchange first thing that comes to your mind is to sue them out call the cops. Resorting to the very first thing you thought is useless government control.
349  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: MultiMiner Remoting & MobileMiner: Your rigs. Your coins. Your pools. Your way. on: February 21, 2014, 12:40:18 AM
I will.

About the crash issue I think it needs to be a secondary service that runs in the background in Windows and checks periodically to see if Multiminer is running. I think my crashing is a bfgminer issue and related to the catalyst drivers.

So far I love the app for ease of use and less crashing compared to cgminer. I just wish there was a better way to get coin difficulty and price data other than coinchoose and coinwarz. Mine never shows the difficulty, profitability and price and I have it hooked to coinchoose.
350  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: MultiMiner Remoting & MobileMiner: Your rigs. Your coins. Your pools. Your way. on: February 20, 2014, 08:42:25 PM
nwools, Any update on allowing coin-switch from the mobile app? Is that on your to-do list?

Another request will be the ability for the APP to restart Multiminer. Three times Multiminer has crashed on me in the past 3 weeks I have been using it and stopped mining. While this is significantly better than CGMINER which was crashing once a day wuith the same exact miner settings, the ability for the app to restart itself or restart the PC would be great.

I also marked it to start when windows starts but I dont think it is working for me but I am not sure as I barely restart my rig.
351  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: MultiMiner Remoting & MobileMiner: Your rigs. Your coins. Your pools. Your way. on: February 20, 2014, 08:37:11 PM
I have a silly request but one that still could help me.
When say there is an update and MuMi closes and reopens all my setting go back to default like say I drag the border between my devices and my listed systems running MuMi on it so I can see all the rates and such.
Can there be something added to let it keep my settings if MuMi is restarted or closed and opened??

+1 on that. Plus an optional automatic update without human intervention is even a double +1. We trust you.
352  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][NYAN] NyanCoin - ★★★THE FIRST OFFICIALLY LICENCED CRYPTOCURRENCY!★★★ on: February 20, 2014, 05:53:14 AM
I have no idea why multipools jumped here, nyan atm pretty lossy to mining. Im here at least 72 hours, and recieved just 16k nyan. Its lower then 0.09 btc per day for my 10 mh, even more worst hash spending against LTC or half-dead forks.

This coin is done, lets move on. coins are only lasting 3~4 weeks now compared to 6-7 months a year ago. Soon coins will only last a day or so.

There are 3 things to avoid when promoting a coin:

1) Avoid getting on coinwarz and coinchoose
2) Avoid getting on Cryptsy (other exchanges maybe ok)
3) Stop replying to this [ANN] thread so you get least attention

And of course NEVER EVER mine or trade a coin that was premined, even 1% is a lot.
353  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][PAND] Original/Rare Pandacoin! [COINEDUP/CRYPTORUSH/SWISSCEX/OPENEX] on: February 20, 2014, 05:16:07 AM
So is this CryptoRUSH or Crypto-CRUSH?

All the BUY orders on coinedup from 0 to 19 Satoshi add up to less than 2 BTC. Basically anyone who has 2 BTC worth of PAND can technically crush this down to ZERO. Doesnt look like this coin needs it though, its going down slowly on its own.

Keep selling guys, lets clean up this altcoin market!

Avg life of these coins is less than 4 weeks now before they become zombies like FAST or some other coins that just dont die like NET.
354  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A philosophical question about Crypto, calculations, "math problems" and rewards on: February 19, 2014, 08:27:48 PM
the difference between satoshi and brooklynite:

Satoshi had an original idea using known cryptographic primivites in a novel way to solve the byzantine general's problem, published it in detailed form, then implemented it and released it to the world.

Brooklynite had an unoriginal half-baked idea that doesn't really solve any problem, published it in half-assed form, then whined about Satoshi's idea on the very forums that satoshi started.

Seems pretty clear to me why POW is the standard.  Let me know when you have a working implementation of these "ideas" of yours brooklyn.

Good points and I accept your criticism. I am however playing devils advocate here. There is no whining. If we dont address these fundamental issues within our community how are we going to sell our ideas to the world? We are still starving for acceptance and fighting powerful governmental rejections. As one of the only people into Cryptocurrencies in my circle of friends and colleagues, I see we have a long way to go here with many left to join our cause. By starting this thread and arguing the counterargument, I am in fact soliciting responses from the community, things I have not thought of coins I have not thought about that rokkyroad for example noted above. Bitcoin was the "Orkut", Litecoin-Scrypt was the "myspace" and we dont have a "facebook" yet.

I do disagree with you in some areas. Satoshi's ideas may have been pure and ideal, but the implementation of it is far from perfect. The massive power consumption requirement and distribution of coins based on computing some useless math is an absolute mistake and is taking place every day in modern countries where in some poorer parts of the world people are struggling to keep a single light bulb in their homes and distribution of power to remote areas is still far from 100%. Furthermore, all of this electricity consumed, 100% of it, is turning into heat. Something our atmosphere cannot afford to keep.

The GPU computing needs, (as opposed to a base system that would distribute coins regardless of your computing power) is benefiting no one but these entities: 1) Global Foundries and 2) ASIC makers like KNC, Antminer and BFL. Not even AMD is profiting because most price gouging is done by retail stores. Global Foundries is also using the technology AMD spent billions on R&D on to create newer chips for 65nm, 25nm and 20nm SHA-256 ASICs and now gridseed for Scrypt. These are all based on the same technology AMD created and Golbal Foundries is utilizing (who knows if with license or not).
355  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][FLAP] FlappyCoin ★ 0 PREMINED ★ COPYRIGHTED ★ MANY GIVEAWAYS ★ V1.0.0.2 on: February 19, 2014, 06:53:44 PM
So is FLAPPY on any exchange yet?
356  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Netcoin | Scrypt | **No Premine** on: February 19, 2014, 09:30:26 AM
Saw some decent NET/XPM action today, so I sold a bunch of NET for XPM.

NET/BTC jumped up too,  but not high enough for me to trade.   Close,  though.

Yea it had a good bounce but dropped again since then. This time it runs to 1500 it wont drop back and most will sell.

It's pretty sad that a great coin like this falters and junk like potcoin and meow are hot these days. Those would never become  a "currency" in the future but NET may be.
357  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Vertcoin-Adaptive N-factor Scrypt-No more ASICs-[EXCHANGES/AMAZON/ATM/MERCHANTS] on: February 19, 2014, 03:23:03 AM
I seriously thought VTC may show at least some form of resistance on its way down once it hits 25,000 Satoshi. But it cut through that like butter.

Let's see how smooth it runs siren below 20,000 Satoshi.

I have to admit I usually don't get tricked very easily but man this VertCoin crap seriously had some thought built into it to fool the crowd.

Funny to see those date going down a century for a coin that only may last two months to dead or in other words when the alt-miner-software guys finish dumping.

I lost a little bit on this but I admit it was my own idiocy even getting into it.
358  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Vertcoin-Adaptive N-factor Scrypt-No more ASICs-[EXCHANGES/AMAZON/ATM/MERCHANTS] on: February 19, 2014, 02:43:57 AM
wolong wants to kill vertcoin?  asic miners for n-factor are there?

seriously do you believe every shit on the internet?

please dump all your coins, then strong holders can buy them.

strongholders? are there any? If you are one then share your VTC account number. No one seems to be holding on to this except and I'm starting to feel like a total idiot.

These are all shit altcoins. Im tired of watching every single one of them get dumped with a couple of very rare exceptions like doge.

How could anyone say any coin will go yo when new copies of it are being made every second in the magnitude of thousands. Who is buying these except a few speculators?
359  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Vertcoin-Adaptive N-factor Scrypt-No more ASICs-[EXCHANGES/AMAZON/ATM/MERCHANTS] on: February 18, 2014, 09:18:42 PM
So its still over 20,000 (thats 20 THOUSAND with a "T") of Satoshi for one single VTC?

I cant believe it. This coin has got some resistance man.
360  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Vertcoin-Adaptive N-factor Scrypt-No more ASICs-[EXCHANGES/AMAZON/ATM/MERCHANTS] on: February 18, 2014, 09:17:22 PM
not sure if you guys have seen this   Angry

https://twitter.com/GameOfDeception/status/435798224696131585

What's bad about that? if you love VTC so much then you can buy even more after he dumps and the price falls.

Because he's not just trying to bring it low, he want's to destroy it... luckily he and his e-penis are to small to succeed if we play it smart... IF WE PLAY IT SMART

How do you destroy a cryptocoin?

You can't. All you can do is making it unprofitable but the coin is still mineable and you still have your VTC.

Moon is practicaly dead. No mining no trades.
