Attention Devs
Earlier I sent a PM to Rat4 to no avail, so I will post here as well. Thank you for making the changes to the BlackCoin.co homepage so quickly. Moving the "Buy Blackcoin" section up to the top of the page will help first time visitors just learning about BlackCoin.
I have one more request I hope you can implement before next Wednesday. Our press release will target North America and select European countries. Our release will go to some of the top financial websites, and their readers are interested in investment opportunities. Unfortunately these readers have short attention spans and if the information isn't right in front of them they can get distracted very easy. Can we have a real time ticker on the front page that gives the value of BC in USD, EUR, GBP, CAD, and AUD?
AAaaaand it's fixed http://www.blackcoin.co/(huge thanks to maarx for fixing this) Very nice....however I don't find it clear enough..IMHO it should say somewhere current 1 BC value is or =....or something maybe it's just me....or maybe others think the same...

Hi, about a week ago, I had some help via a couple (JamesR1 and XbladeX) of members here with some issues I was having setting up my config files. I know that this will probable seem very simple to most of you, but I am having a nightmare getting my head around it. With BlackFriday looming around the corner, I would like to get myself up and running if possible. Original enquiry: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=469640.msg5896117#msg5896117I have entered my BC Address via My Miner over at Blackcoin Pool.com Here is my sgminer.conf file text: { "pools" : [ { "url" : "stratum+tcp://blackcoinpool.com:3333", "user" : "MyBCAddress", "pass" : "xxxxxxxxxxx" } ] , "intensity" : "13", "worksize" : "256", "kernel" : "ckolivas", "lookup-gap" : "2", "thread-concurrency" : "24000", "shaders" : "0", "gpu-threads" : "1", "gpu-engine" : "900", "gpu-fan" : "30-90", "gpu-memclock" : "1200", "gpu-memdiff" : "0", "gpu-powertune" : "0", "gpu-vddc" : "0.000", "temp-cutoff" : "95", "temp-overheat" : "85", "temp-target" : "75", "api-mcast-port" : "4028", "api-port" : "4028", "auto-fan" : true, "expiry" : "10", "failover-switch-delay" : "60", "gpu-dyninterval" : "7", "gpu-platform" : "0", "log" : "5", "no-pool-disable" : true, "queue" : "1", "scan-time" : "7", "tcp-keepalive" : "30", "temp-hysteresis" : "3", "shares" : "0", "kernel-path" : "/usr/local/bin", "no-client-reconnect" : true } Here is the text contained within the Launch - Scrypt.bat file: setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100 setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1 del *.bin Color 0A sgminer I then double click on Launch - Scrypt.bat that is in the sgminer-4.1.153-v2 that I downloaded from sgminerwindows.com, but always get this error message? https://i.imgur.com/isH2xXF.jpgAll the files that are contained within the sgminer that I downloaded are these: https://i.imgur.com/ZRpHa23.jpgMy card is a AMD Radeon Sapphire HD 7870 Can someone let me know what or where I am going wrong as I have been trying many different settings this evening, but nothing seems to work. I recommend you use GUIMiner-Scrypt..it's much easier to set-up https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=150331.0

For those who didn't saw it...if it's true...Dogecoin pooled out another nice publicity stunt: What do you mean if it's true? It's in the news, all over the subreddit, it's definitely true and hilarious in my opinion. Can't wait to see this thing in real life. because it is in the news...doesn't mean it's true.. ex: http://www.theguardian.com/news/blog/2011/jul/04/fox-news-hacked-twitter-obama-deadanw...it was just to show an example of a imaginative and very nice publicity stunt... and it's good for all alts and even BTC as it adds more exposure.

why can't the wallet have an option to only be unlocked for staking but not allow for any transactions to be SENT? then ppl could leave their wallets unlocked to stake without worry of being stolen.
Good point we will try ask rar4 for that feature.Something like transaction password block That is already in there. I have mine unlocked and can't send transactions without entering my pass. Check again people. I just did, and not for the first time. No password is required to send from an unlocked wallet. And yes, I'm using the latest release (windows client). I brought this up weeks ago in a cautionary post, before Soepkip had his coins swiped, and then subsequently. For the future health of the coin and anyone owning it, let's tie up this loose end. Just to follow up with a couple more details and confirmations on this. 1. If you unlock the 'new' way, via the <settings> dropdown, you're wallet is up for grabs. No password is needed to send out your coins. 2. If you unlock it old-school, via console, you will unlock for staking. It is a 'mintonly' command, fortunately. Thank god someone was thinking. 3. If you do #2, then initiate a send but cancel out before entering password, your wallet 'lock' symbol will close, but your staking light remains 'green' and mouse-hover will indicate you are staking. 4. If you do #1, then go back to the console and enter the command 'walletlock', same result as #3. (as someone else rightly pointed out). 5. Only remaining question is, for #3 and #4, is the wallet in fact still staking as indicated? I am waiting to find out. So far apparently not. But we shall see. Conclusion: if you just do #1 and walk away for the day, you might have a very nasty surprise waiting for you when you get home. Even if no one has physical access to your computer, it can occur through a variety of exploits that someone gains remote access to your system. Then, my friend, you are most certainly fucked. Finally, if you don't already, consider using a password mgr. Among other things it will allow you to enter your long-and-random-as-fuck password without entering keystrokes. And be sure to keep a backup of your password database! if You do no 2...the stacking works...just received few fractions of coins Well yes, it's supposed to work that way and does. You will also be staking by doing #1. The open question was more about #3 and #4. So far it looks like client is misreporting, and in fact at that point you are locked and not staking, in spite of the green light. Not a major issue. Security is. Looks like you're ok with #2. No doubt future releases will add features and heightened security. Be sure when you unlock in console to immediately delete history. **footnote for experts: there is always a possibility that, in spite of deleting console history your password is retained somewhere in memory and retrievable by someone clever enough to get in. It's beyond my skills to verify that, but would be glad to hear a report from someone capable of analyzing the matter in detail. actually no2 might be dangerous also.....just checked and my transaction passed without password...... I then did walletlock command..... wallet is locked now and the stacking icon is green...will have to check if it is really stacking....I came to the same questions as yours...will try to report if I will get something... Strange. I confirmed earlier that #2 demanded my password. What client are you on? Could you restart and reconfirm please. I'm on the latest windows qt. v 1.0.5 just retested the no 2 and worked as You described......however before I was staking for some time and I don't know why it didn't asked me for a pass...

You're right..thx for warning...just tested it and as Jabulon said it works.. If you unlock Your wallet with settings>unlock wallet then you can send BC without inputting the password.... to fix you can write walletlock in console.... the stacking seem to continue working but now it's impossible to send the coins without password THIS SHOULD BE FIXED I suggests 2 level unlock; 1st-for staking and 2nd for transactions

I just turned 38 today (technically, in 9 hours). BC si a nice Birthday gift I am using IconicExpert's method of slow buying atm. I invest 0.01 BTC at a time. I lose money in the short term but it will help blackcoin in the long term. Do like me. IconicExpert or others, please restate your method, it is too painful for me to do it on a smartphone. Would you mind explaining what this method is ?

Hi Ziploc, BlackCoinPool.com is the officially supported BC pool. BCPool.co (which was renamed BlackCoinMiner.com) was created and is maintained by me. Ok thx for the info...is the BlackCoinMiner.com having the same concept as the Black Hole ? ie: multimine and pay in BC ?

We all know that the Multipool's going to do great things for BlackCoin, once it's released. However, I don't think everyone realizes how much of a difference it's going to make. The numbers thrown out for yesterday's (March 19, 2014) mining ranged from 10GH/s to nearly 400GH/s. It's quite safe to assume that the massive dropoff near the end was caused by the frontend issues the site was having (for those that weren't there, the miner pages were entirely inaccessible for the latter portion of the "launch"). Because of that, I'm going to make a somewhat conservative (depending on how you look at it) estimation of 200GH/s if the pool was as polished as the new version is reported to be. If that 200GH/s was maintained for a solid 24 hour period, that would net somewhere in the neighborhood of $500,000 and $1,000,000 worth of altcoins, according to http://www.coinwarz.com/cryptocurrency. Let that sink in for a second. BlackCoin's current market cap is roughly $1,300,000. That's a ton of buy orders. Not just that... I'm not sure if the devs will pursue the sha256 coins market...that will bring a whole gazillion hashes from BTC Asics to Scrypt ie. Blackcoin... BlackCoin is perfect candidate for that and if it works it will become one of an important coins out there.. Despite what happened with Black Hole Multipool, I'm still giving the credit to Radio for what he have done....building his pool from scratch in a record time and for the idea itself.... guy is a genius but he might not be intimately familiar with cryptos or didn't expect such a hype and didn't think about forking coins, etc..... On top of that and according of what he said and I believe him...he did all that for free.... Big thx to him
