341  Economy / Speculation / Re: How is it possible to squander $18 millions ? on: October 08, 2015, 06:03:18 PM
Yep, they got the 18 mil of "FREE" money.

They gifted themselves with some Eth premine. How much they made on that is anyone's guess.

Why work and produce when people are anxious to throw money at you?

Now Vitalick is setting the scene for "community takeover". Once the money is gone its up to bagholders to continue on. So typical.

People need to quit buying into these schemes. These scams schemes only put more nails into the cryptocurrency coffin. The final result could be the demise of Bitcoin and like its not already took enough hits.
342  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum Kali linux on: October 08, 2015, 05:45:55 PM
I'm sure Electrum will work fine in Kali. Not sure why you would choose Kali. It's really big and plum full of penetration software. It is commonly used by those wanting to break into wifi networks and others. You better know what you are doing with it or you may find yourself "hacked" or tracked down.

No one is totally safe but putting your wallet on a linux OS is safer particularly if that OS is dedicated to the wallet and not used for anything else and kept offline except for transactions and updates.
343  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Google Voice Outside Of The US - Your Own Personal USA Phone Number! on: October 08, 2015, 05:08:02 PM
Received a notice from Google for the accounts you set up for me.

"Hello,

We'd like to make sure that the information on your Google Voice account yaddayadda@gmail.com is accurate and that you still own the forwarding phone number (2**) 7**-5***.

If you want Google Voice to continue forwarding calls and texts to this phone, please verify it by October 29, 2015. To re-verify or remove this phone, please visit your Google Voice phone settings through the desktop site at https://www.google.com/voice#phones.

Even if you don't re-verify your phone, your Google Voice account will still stay active. You won't get calls forwarded to this specific phone, but you can use it again at any time by re-verifying it. If you have other forwarding phones turned on, calls will still be forwarded to them.

Please note that this is a no-reply email. If you have additional questions, please visit our Help Center at https://support.google.com/voice/?p=verify_forwarding_phone.

You can also leave us feedback at https://www.google.com/voice#feedback.

Sincerely,
The Google Voice Team"

I'm a little creeped out. Don't recognize the forwarding number and I never set one up.

That is interesting. I just checked my invoice for a dell bought a year ago.  No charge was itemized under the warranty or service plan but it does show 4 codes.  Basically, the invoice just shows the package price with everything itemized with code #.  If I was charged the fee it was hidden in the price.

The dell was my first brand name desktop and I can't say enough good things about it. All my custom builds had issues. Sometimes you just get tired of screwing around with stuff.

Codishmama/papa/homo/lesbo/tranny is an Attention Whore period.

I thought it was funny for a while. Now, its just sad.

347  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is there any real difference in Vitalik of Ethereum and Bobsurplus of crapcoin? on: October 01, 2015, 03:44:34 AM
alot of these people have great intentions and some good ideas.  unfortunately when they get the money in their accounts some or most of them decide to spend it on nice shiny things rather than coding.   eth had some great promises but i surely would have thought by now they would have something to show for it rather than say... ooopps we ran out of money, heres some bullshit code, its up to the community now to work for free to make it happen.

At least Vitalick gives a timeline for community takeover. Most give no warning and disappear with the moolah leaving the community to pick of the pieces. It does put Eth one rung up from most community takeovers.

If that's any consolation.

They don't call them "Hitler's revenge" for nothing. Another win for the motherland.
350  Other / Politics & Society / Re: 14 year old Muslim teen gets illegally detained in Texas for homemade clock on: September 18, 2015, 02:37:02 AM

Would You Think This Was A Clock?

This was the actual picture of what the 14 year old boy Ahmed Mohamed brought to his 9th grade class, that went off without warning in the middle of his class in his school bag. We had another picture up in our earlier post, which was not the actual contraption. The school called the police and he was arrested until it was determined that the invention posed no danger.

While some might be able to determine that it posed no danger, most likely would not have been able to tell.

HHmmm....

Here's a bitcoin related idea: We could have an anonymous fundraiser, maybe using that Lighthouse thing I keep hearing about. The funds would be paid out to people who carry a clock with exactly this design into government buildings. I mean, it's easy money and it's nothing to worry about because that obvious doesn't look suspicious at all, right? There should be an extra special bonus for carrying it with you to visit the White House. Oh, and make sure it beeps occasionally, just like the original.

Priceless!

I think the little bugger knew exactly what he was doing. "I'm going to school with a clock that looks like a bomb. This will be a hoot."

I'm wondering if his friends knew and if any of them will squeal on him.
351  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Any decent ways to gain interest off your Bitcoin? on: September 16, 2015, 06:57:15 PM
No.

Exactly this! OP don't be crazy! Don't let the greed takes you over. Hold your bitcoins in the cold storage and be happy that you have them and that nobody can scam you.

There is no good and sure investment possibility in the Bitcoin space at the moment. Just many scams and ponzi schemes!

Trust me!

Best advice!
352  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is it true that Bitcoin is dying? Should I invest? Where can and how do I buy? on: September 16, 2015, 04:04:41 PM
You should be worried. Buying btc as an investment is a gamble.

Worst case scenerio would see your 8 grand turn into 4 grand or less in the future. If you are prepared for this possibility and can afford it then go for it.

Your best bet is to sign up with a bitcoin exchange and buy them there. Other avenues will be more expensive.

355  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why isn't Peercoin more popular? on: September 11, 2015, 03:07:25 PM
Why aren't many altcoins more popular? No real world use as a currency.

They are just something for us kids to trade back and forth like we do with our marbles.

Regarding Peercoin: Quality coin with a quality developer.

BitJane was never more than a sheep to be honest. you can't really blame her in my opinion.

She was complicit and needs to be brought before the courts.
358  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What happened to all the Doge threads? on: September 04, 2015, 01:58:02 AM
No Doge hate here.  Just pointing out one of the reasons for its decline in price and popularity.  Last I heard any hype on Doge was the race car thing. Been quiet since. Devs and community cooled off I guess.

Besides, I appreciate the lack of doge-shilling so its all good.
359  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What happened to all the Doge threads? on: September 03, 2015, 05:52:50 AM
Dogecoin devs did not do doge bagholders any favours when they decided not to cap the number of doge produced causing the price to crash and pissing off the community.

It's been downhill ever since.

(4) Design and issue your own cryptocurrency
Create a tradeable digital token that can be used as a currency, a representation of an asset, a virtual share, a proof of membership or anything at all. These tokens use a standard coin API, so your contract will be automatically compatible with any wallet, other contract or exchange also using this standard.

The total amount of tokens in circulation can be set to a simple fixed amount, or fluctuate based on any programmed ruleset.

I guess we don't have enough altcoins.  Now everyone can have their own!  FLOOD THE MARKETS!  Let's make sure that crypto is so unbelievably flooded that it's just going to be one giant cluster and then Big Brother can step in and ban the shit out of them and then make us use their Crypto cause all the other ones have been diluted to shit with algo switches, merged mining and whatever the hell else.

600 + altcoins with at least 52 scamcoins listed on coinmarketcap but let's build a cryptocurrency that lets you build a cryptocurrency ontop of the cryptocurrency.

Not mineable cryptocurrency's are garbage.

Most premined cryptocurrency's are garbage.

All this IPO garbage is more....garbage.

Why don't we just piggy back all the altcoins INTO ETH so that we can just have one giant, centralized umbrella running all of our decentralized coins.

The cryptoworld is getting... laughable.  All these amazing, great and innovative ideas that are supposed to revolutionize an already revolutionized concept. However; instead of building on the concept, let's just fork the shit out of everything.

How many altcoins do we need? Over 9,000?  10,000?  10,000,000?

It seems to me that all the people who missed the Bitcoin Gravy Train are trying to just create their own gravy train.  Have many of these amazing developers tried to develop for bitcoin?  Did the Bitcoin Foundation turn you down so you had no choice?

Also;  as for developers getting paid -- You guys are creating (or at least trying to create) a currency and then saying you deserve to get paid for your hard work through our support but yet I don't really see a thread that begs for developers to crap out a new altcoin every week.  Pretty sure we have plenty of currency floating around.

And if Bitcoin has "problems" that should be "fixed" why not fix the problems that Bitcoin has instead of making an entirely new currency?

It makes me think in 5 years I go to buy a starbucks coffee and i'm cycling through my smartphone for the 7000 crypto wallets I have to find the one they accept as payments.

(Some sarcasm was implied here -- However; in my defense, taken directly from CoinMarketCap: 617 Currencies / 53 Assets / 1956 Markets)

617 currencies is pretty freakin sarcastic.

Are there even 617 fiat currencies in existence?  If there aren't, 617 crypto currencies is a clear indication of straight up sarcasm and dilution.

Concept is nice... dilution isn't.

I love this post!
