Proof of Time; be rewarded for the time you are connected to the network

Does already exist: http://timekoin.org

It is all about incentives.

I am about to draw a concept that will reward stability. I'm pretty advanced, although it has some level of complexity Wink

Would this work like POS? Seems interesting, might start "mining" it.

Who cares if anyone cares right?

Do you?

I believe if we all just stuck to one algo and made ASICS super accesible, we wouldn't have this problem. But since we do have this problem, I think the way to go is X11.
345  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is this "heartbleed" bug I've been hearing about? on: April 11, 2014, 03:56:40 PM
Alright, so basically it intercepts payments?
Through this bug , your information over the ssl sites are not encrypted.

Okay, thanks for the information guys!

Make it X11 and this coin may indeed dominate.

Basically. I don't see a point for new coins to be script really.... I'll still mine it even if its script, as long as I can at least.
347  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Most efficient distribution strategies on: April 11, 2014, 03:52:24 PM
It seems to be a mixture of POW/POS and actually physical distribution. Also, getting on exchanges ASAP, and press releases would also further distribution IMO

How bout Greenland?

How is Greenland any better than Iceland?
Isn't green a better word than ice? Who'd like to live in an Iceland anyway?

Are not both places rather cold?

What is your definition of cold?

Does it change that much between those places for it to be relevant?

What do you think?

Does his opinion matter ?

Does yours?

Openssl is a library that is shipped with a lot of OSes and basically allowed an attacker to dump 64Kb of your memory and it could do it in a loop this would allow access to entropy and store variable like SSL private keys. This is really an issue of putting too much trust in a single library.

Ahh okay, thanks for explaining it to me. So with this bug, they could steal your wallet private key?

The short answer is no.

They could potentially steal any information posted to a web site which had the vulnerability.  In some cases, they could steal the server's certificate, which might allow them to impersonate the server (better phishing attacks).

Then why is it saying Bitcoin could be stolen? How des that work?

Checked market caps, seem BTC is at $422 or so. Looks like BTC is bouncing back!

Just asking about the process. Are you told what topics to write about or do you research them?

356  Other / Off-topic / Re: How to deal with stress? on: April 11, 2014, 02:56:24 PM
Stress is a symptom of an underlying problem. Trying to deal with it directly is like closing the barn doors after the horse has bolted.
You need to identify the cause, then take steps to remove it. Once the cause is removed, you will stop feeling stress.

If you're really keen on dealing with this, I suggest some form of therapy. CBT is excellent for identifying the causes and then finding ways to address them directly in ways which you can manage (CBT is especially good for anxiety). Other forms of therapy may suit your individual situation more though. Even counselling can help a lot (never underestimate the power of just talking to someone). Just dealing with these things will bring an immediate sense of relief sometimes and give you the motivation to keep going, especially, if like me, you tend to avoid doing so normally.

In the meantime, spend some time trying to identify what it is you're doing which creates this stress. Perhaps it's not a situation, but rather the way you deal with it.
Meditation can help too, but can often be frustrating when the underlying causes aren't being addressed
I would strongly advise against trying to "kill your emotions". Try rather to live harmoniously with them. Waging war on yourself isn't the way to peace, just more suffering. There is nothing wrong with emotions. We just need to learn not to be carried away by them.

Good luck. I hope things improve for you soon.
That is your opinion. I'd rather have my brain think about science related things all the time, than spend 1 minute a day on emotions. For me, emotions are a huge flaw in manking.

Emotions are what separate us from robots, allowing us to solve and do things that robots cannot.

358  Other / Meta / Re: Why do all the sr. and hero members with negative trust hate on the trust system on: April 11, 2014, 11:12:24 AM
http://www.woodlaw.com/cases/butterfly-labs-and-bf-labs-inc-bitcoin-miners <-- got anything to add to the case against BFL? If we can't resolve the trust rating issue with Mods doing more we can punish a company that is both abusing this forums policy on spam and nailing to the wall in court for fraud.

What would they be classified under? Idk if you can really bring that to legal status...

Read the case filed here: http://www.woodlaw.com/sites/default/files/casedocs/2014-04-04%20Complaint.pdf

Pretty much outlines what 100s have already posted in these forums and is now going to be argued in court.

The point to their abuse of the trust system is to mainly drive more traffic to their site to get sales. This sort of spam is in direct contradiction of the rules of these forums but I guess the only real way to combat that is put out as much information as possible on who BFL has being carrying out business and let the community decide. It would be helpful if more of the community here did use the trust system appropriately and people like Josh_BFL would have had a -3000 Trust rating over a year ago when the scams he was pulling became apparent.

Wonder if they have to be "pre-ordered" to court  Grin

(disregard - I see ipominer's previous response that the site uses the last price, which is why KAR is shown as selling for 20000)

Ahh. I wish exchange sires, profitability sites, etc. Used top buying price as usually the high prices you can get aren't as easily liquidated.
