After all even the decision of seeking for others' help is still on the gambler's hand and nobody else can make this decision for him. If the addicted person doesn't accept or ask for help, nothing can be done to overcome the issue, because he is actually reluctant in doing so intimately. Or in other words, he doesn't want to get ride of addiction at all, because he knows once he stops gambling definitely he won't feel that pleasure sensation anymore. So it's a really hard decision to make and one of the main reasons so many gamblers struggle in getting free from these chains, like you mentioned.
Which is why people should look for help at the first signs that they are not controlling their gambling anymore, and this is relatively easy to know, gambling is supposed to be engaged in for purely entertainment purposes, so if you are not getting any fun anymore and if you are instead suffering then this is a clear sign there is something wrong with your gambling and you need to stop immediately and look for the support of your family before it is too late. Sadly that won't work. The dopamine they have or they get every time they play gambling is the one who keeps them away on getting professional help or confessing to someone that they need help regarding about their situation in gambling being addicted on it. So the outcome of most gambling addict stories always end up in the worst case scenario, like they lost everything on them before they even realized that they should stop. Are you able to provide studies that underline your argument? I actuallly dont think that the the outcome of the most "gambling careers" is something you described. Many seeking for help before they loose everything, which is a good thing. But of course there are some gamblers that end in the worst scenario and herethe government need to set some smart regulations to prevent it. |

I would say long term hodlers are more willing to gamble at a high Bitcoin price.
I honestly believe that many players do not "think in BTC" when making deposits at the casino but primarily in USD. For me, for example, it's very simple: I gamble a fixed amount in USD per month and usually use Bitcoin for that. It doesn't matter if the Bitcoin price is $1 or $100,000, the USD equivalent remains the same. By the way, this is also a very simple method to avoid spending too much money. If the budget is used up, I also stop playing for the respective month. And it is usually used up quite fast  I completely agree with your point. I really would like to see a scientific study regarding this topic with the question if gamblers really calculated with the higher USD price or if they are still used to lower exchange rates. In my opinion changing such a behaviour takes some time and many will loose more money (or BTC) then they want to. |

This could benefit those who keep gambling, particularly now, when, as you said, most gamblers are spending 24/7 in their homes gambling due to the pandemic, making them more vulnerable to gambling addiction. It's a serious problem that most of us can't even regulate or discipline ourselves when it comes to gambling because we have the mentality of making a quick buck. May I consider defi trading to be a form of gambling as well? If that's the case, money drive us insane. It keeps me investing in coins that have no guarantee of going x2. So be cautious about something that involves money because it will make us greedy for profit, particularly now that the pandemic has hit and we don't have any good sources of income; many people have lost their jobs, and they are thinking of gambling to benefit rather than saving.
I don't think that trading and gambling are the same thing. Sure both of these can be addicting but there are lot of differences. For example, with gambling we know our odds beforehand and we are either losing or winning, there is no stalemate or something like that. As for trading, we are not only winning and losing. The price can move against us, but as long as we are not selling we are not making a real loss. We still have the coin and can just hold it for a long time until the price recovers. This doesn't mean however that we don't need to protect ourselves from addiction, both trading and gambling addiction is very serious. Why exactly do you think that trading and gambling are different from each other? Are you only reffering to short term or lond term trading? I mean trading long-term can be seen as some kind of investment,but in the short term luck plays the higher role and you can only make money if and only if you have inside information. |

We will introduce a p2p trustless trading mechanism soon. BCH has tested well for weeks and we can now increase the offerings. That seems to be a good news. Maybe it would make sense to create a seperate chatroom for these issues, because I suppose there will be many requests and sometimes the chatroom is so crowded that it could lead to some troubles, if everyone write exchange deals in the genereal chat. |

Um mal so in die Runde zu fragen: Wer von euch macht denn heute Nacht beim XAVA-Sale auf Pangolin mit? Die starten dort mit einem Preis von gerade mal 0,035 USD pro Token bei einem Gesamtmarketcap von 100 Mio Token. Daher denke ich, dass der Preis am Anfang ziemlich steigen wird und es schwer wird, den Token für den günstigen Preis zu bekommen. Ich bin schon sehr gespannt, wo der Kurs morgen stehen wird.

Am Freitag geht ja Avalaunch mit $XAVA an den Start. $XAVA kann erstmal nur mit $AVAX gekauft werden.
Was haltet ihr von dem Projekt? Wie seht ihr die Entwicklung des $AVAX Preises diesbezüglich? Wie wird sich der $XAVA Preis entwicken? Wird sich der Kauf am Freitag lohnen?

Bei einem Listingpreis von 0.035 USD und einem Max Supply von 100 Mio. XAVA würde sich ein Total Diluted Market Cap von 3,35 Mio USD ergeben. Vergleichbare Projekte auf bspw. Polkadot (Polkastarter) sind in der Regel dreistellig. Es wird wohl aber schwer werden, die Tokens für 0,035 USD zu bekommen meiner Meinung nach. Aber wie immer: Keine Investmentempfehlung. DYOR! |

Was ich nicht so ganz nachvollziehen kann ist, wie man bei wirklich guten PoS-Alternativen noch auf PoW setzen kann. Klar, der Energieverbrauch ist geringer als bei Bitcoin, aber der Ressourcenverbrauch ist immens. Einziger Wehrmutstropfen ist IMO, dass die Festplatten in der Regel nach dem Mining noch verwendet werden können.
Wer setzt denn auf PoW? Und welcher immense Ressourcenverbrauch? Nen Pi mit ner handvoll Festplatten halt ich für überschaubar.... Die Festplatten müssen hergestellt werden. Ist natürlich nicht so problematisch, wenn lediglich alte Festplatten verwendet werden, die sowieso ansonsten nur rumgestanden hätten. Die wahrscheinlichere Variante ist jedoch, dass es die Nachfrage nach Festplatten massiv erhöhen wird. Edit: Wikipedia sagt: Die Idee des Proof-of-Work ist, dass ein Dienstnutzer zuerst selbst etwas Arbeit verrichten muss, bevor er den Dienst in Anspruch nehmen darf - Damit ist das Proof of Space and time eigentlich ein versteckter PoW. |

Aber welche Assets sollte man denn dort haben ? Was wäre das beste oder welche Asets sind Vorraussetzung wegen Gasfee usw. Habe mich damit noch überhaupt nicht beschäftigt . Spätestens wenn man deren AGB durch liest, sieht man das eigentlich überhaupt nichts zugesichert wird. Auch der Hinweis auf den angegliederten Verein „Grundeinkommen e.V. zielt meiner Meinung nach nur darauf ab, das es zu einer Verwechslung des seit langen etablierten Projektes "Mein Grundeinkommen e.V. (gemeinnützig)" kommt. FINGER WEG ! Bei dem Punkt bin auch stutzig geworden und habe den Verein "Mein Grundeinkommen" gegoogelt. Das ist schon fast arglistige Täuschung, was die Betreiber damit probieren. Auch sehr schade, dass eine sehr interessante Idee (Grundeinkommen) hier so arg missbraucht wird. Schade. Oder trudeln die Token ohne mein zutun auf meiner AVAX-Wallet ein ( ähnlich wie beim BAG-Airdrop)? Falls Letzteres zutrifft: Gibt es schon einen Zeitplan wann man mit den Token rechnen kann? Wie schafft es Doge eigentlich trotz des sehr hohen Volumes Transaktionen in so einer guten Geschwindigkeit abzuwickeln? Wenn ich mich richtig erinnere, habe ich letzte Woche gerade mal 1 Doge bezahlt, was ich als relativ günstig empfinde. Habe mich mit der technischen Architektur hinter Doge nie beschäftigt.

Even if you are playing online if you have a habit of shitting while playing that will not make a difference.
When I was reading I laughed a little bit. Sorry. I had this picture in my mind that you are gambling and you shit yourself, after you lost your complete money you stand up and say to the other person just "sorry". Okay, maybe it is a serious issue and not something where you can do somes jokes about. |
