What's the major difference between these two actors in the crypto industry?
What the difference for me is first the analysis using of these two types of people in cryptocurrency; trader and investor, which the trader for sure is more on technical analysis, like more on analyzing a chart, while the investor part is more on fundamental part since they are more for long term part.
Most of the investors will look forward to the long term, effects on it in the future, events, news are important for them.
While traders will make only money, even how worst some cryptocurrencies are, they will more base on what they see on their chart.

While that is a fact, its more of a fact that a trader look beyond historical movement of prices to trade he also analyse what's happening in the real world in order to make a good decision.
342  Other / Beginners & Help / How to Differentiate Between Trader and Investor on: May 25, 2020, 08:22:04 AM
Well, everyone in a race is out for something specific. They are obviously in for the prize, whatever it may be.

In crypto, both investor and trader is in for the meat, I mean for profitability. This profitability is measured in terms of ROI.

But, the business system of the trader is different from that of the investor.

But what I personally see to be the major difference between the crypto investor and trader is the length of coin holding of the two. While investor is in for the long term, the trader is in for the short term.

Anyways, let me allow you to comment. What's the major difference between these two actors in the crypto industry?

If anyone has a truly innovative or groundbreaking idea in this space, I’m pretty sure it wouldn’t be very wise of them to share it here on bitcointalk for everyone to see.

Ideas that aren’t new that I’d love to see are those such as a truly decentralized exchange. We could also use easier ways to store bitcoin on your phone but are safe.

1. I'm an entrepreneur that doesn't believe that a new idea should be concealed. It should be made public so that input from others could help to refine it.

2. A smart device that could mine and also operate as a smartphone will be an innovative idea.

Taking advantage of the fact that we are celebrating the Bitcoin Pizza day.
That as we know was born here in the forum.

Let's take a look at this tweet to meet the guy who paid for a pizza with 10,000 BTC in 2010.

https://twitter.com/AtomicWallet/status/1263863697413484544?s=19

I would create my own business a Pizza shop that accepts payments with BTCitcoin.
As we are in Coronavirus time I would offer my products for delivery.

After the Coronavirus I would offer live seminars: easy and fast how to use bitcoin, its pros and cons.

For customers who know bitcoin:
They are free to choose their favorite mobile wallet.
Regarding the time of the transactions, it would accept payments with x confirmations.

I remember that I used Bitrefill once and it accepted the payment without the network having made all the confirmations. It would work for.
It is just an idea that could improve it.

That's certainly impressive.
This  idea can be applied to adjacent markets too especially online shopping.
.
Online shopping and bitcoin payment.

I'm not sure if it actually exist, but what's about organizing Bitcoin future adoption by partnering with different retailers. They made Bitcoin of of the possible payment method at their shops and get promoted for this. Like a quid pro quo.

Is this a contribution or a comment.
Why can't we have a business that's only accept payment with cryto. Yes, this will truely be innovative

Just like in this forum. People whose purpose is learning new knowledge have great benefits. As a beginner that wants to use bitcoin, forget the past of bitcoin were you know that a lot of people made profits from trading bitcoin but focus on the ecosystem of how money works. A world where we can have control over money and activities like elections using the blockchain to have a free and fair election in places like Africa, Asia, America, etc

If you've been following discussion on this platform you would noticed that using blockchain for election will springs up problems.
Who will be an umpire of a decentralized system of blockchain when used as an election technology?
346  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Your Best trading platform is? on: May 21, 2020, 04:53:54 PM
It is true that coinbase is highly recommended for trading, but in my opinion coinbase is not the best. The best is binance exchanges for now
as a trading platform, because of the many features of binance that Coinbase does not yet have. Binance promotion  many  IEO projects are
very potential, can provide big profits for investors. So from that until now I am still comfortable using binance for trading.

Is it possible for one to invest in token on by analysing what  happen on Binance?
347  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Your Best trading platform is? on: May 21, 2020, 04:50:50 PM
Its good seeing coinbase on the top. I had used coinbase but trade is not available in my country. So i start treading on hitbtc. Hitbtc is good exchange but they demand high fee and low security. So now i start trading on binance & kucoin. Those are good.

On what parameter do you conclude that an exchange platform is good when its poor in security and the charges is also too high.
That means all the assets on their custody can vanish within seconds.
348  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Your Best trading platform is? on: May 21, 2020, 04:46:54 PM
I dont use Coinbase beacuse trade in it is so complicate. I use Binance and Huobi Exchange to hold me asset and trading. There are a good exchange with high security, high liquility, many trading pair and easy to use

I also don't use coinbase because my country isn't yet supported but I don't think coinbase is complicated, it is similar to other exchanges. The special thing about coinbase is its high liquidity, it is probably the highest according to the statistics on coinmarketcap.

In what ways is coinbase complex? How do you expert an exchange/trading platform to be.
Which exchange is simple to you.
349  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / The Best Crypto Idea to Explore. on: May 20, 2020, 03:55:10 PM
All entrepreneurs in the house gather here so we can discuss what we are good at..

Entrepreneurs are good at conceiving and developing innovative ideas in order to explore market opportunities.

If you're an entrepreneur in the house, which crypto idea do you feel we could explore, develop and innovate on that'll surpass  the businesses already existing in the industry?

* To me, a blend of something like trading and exchange.

Well, let me allow you to think and comment on this important discussion.
350  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The One Biggest Lesson you've learnt from Bitcoins Investment on: May 15, 2020, 05:49:33 AM
My biggest leasson was to not get involved in any schemes, ways of getting money fast, multiplying an investment and so on.
Whenever you send your coins to a centralized exchange, a cloud mining site, you name it, you put them at risk. Bitcoin is going to appreciate in value by itself, you don't have to do anything with it. All those things that people are told, that you have to put your money to work to profit, that you have to differentiate, are not worth a penny.

So, from a perspective of someone who held coins for 5 years and built a portfolio from scratch:
Don't try to reinvest your investment, don't overthink it. You're already in one of the most risky, volatile and also profitable markets in the world. Don't let some fools tell you that you have to day trade, gamble, buy altcoins, invest in a ponzi scheme, mine, cloud mine, stake, and so on, to make money!

If I'm to heed to your advice based on your experience the question will be what will you rather advice me to do if I have a little funds I want to grow?
351  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Your Best trading platform is? on: May 13, 2020, 05:23:39 PM
Binance became the best Trading Platform I chose. Because many features are provided by Binance. I also trade Future which is more convenient than other platforms.

and the latest from binance right now is Spot P2P to make buying and selling crypto assets very easily. Payment methods can use direct bank transfer.
I have also become an official P2P Binance trading partner as one of Indonesia's verified merchants.
https://zaky-cell.com/

Congrats for being a verified trading merchant of Binance in Indonesia. You mentioned reasons why you choose Binance over other but you fail to mention the security of the reputable platform?

How secure is Binance?
352  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Which Trading Exchange Platform Has Been Hacked ? on: May 13, 2020, 05:05:16 PM

“This was a significant loss for Bitstamp, and it cast further doubt on the safety and integrity of the bitcoin ecosystem. However, it could have been much worse, and we are determined to use this as a learning tool, and as a basis for making improvements in our technology, security protocols, incident response planning and so forth.”

Source

It is questionable whether Bitstamp would have taken these measures if the hack had never taken place.

Well, the information gathered from the press are not always true as some entrepreneurs will just like to use to gain public trust again.

On the other hand, negative incidence occur in life so we could learn to avoid certain mistakes or improve how we do things.

But, why don't we prepare from the onset against hacking?

I want us to rate crypto exchange platforms based on these parameters.

* Global geographical usage.
* Never hacked before
* low transaction fee.

Which of the cryto trading exchange meet this criteria.

-

The OP is asking what exchange fulfil the above parameters, and I can say very few of them.
But most exchanges that fall into this set of parameters are smaller to medium exchanges.
Because most good exchanges have been a victim of hacking at least once.
But I don't think, the criteria of never hacked before and low tx fee would be vital in choosing an exchange.
Those exchanges that have never been hacked is only waiting their time to be vulnerable with these hackers.
I guess what matters most, is how the exchange reacted after the hack - did they refund their clients or not? Or did they continue their operations and rectify the prob fast?
Also, most exchanges with low tx fees are those with low trading volumes also. So it is really not convenient to trade in those kind of exchanges.
Do you want to wait for days and days just to fulfil your order?

Hackers are only after the big exchange and trading platform and not against smaller ones.

Is the aim of this hackers to steal only the coins or there are other things that is their pursuit as they hack sites?

Google is the one you need, you can see some by searching this query and I will give you a samples regarding on what you are finding kindly read it below.

I totally agree, big brother knows all the information the OP is looking for. I'll just say that the first major hack of some crypto exchange was recorded back in 2011 and it was related to Mt.Gox (2600 BTC lost), after which was followed the biggest in history Mt.Gox again in 2014 (850 000 BTC hacked). In 2016 Bitfinex is hacked for $77 million at that time, and in 2018 Coincheck is hacked for $500 million in NEM tokens.

For global usage we know that Coinbase, Binance, and Bitstamp are probably the most famous, As for fees, I don't think there's much of a difference - although I'm not a trader, so I can't say for sure where it's best to trade.

I'm not disputing that I don't have an idea of what I'm talking about but my main focus is the trading and exchange platforms that satisfy those parameters and can we conclude base on that that they are best exchanges/trading platforms.
354  Economy / Trading Discussion / Which Trading Exchange Platform Has Never Been Hacked ? on: May 13, 2020, 08:19:38 AM
I want us to rate crypto exchange platforms based on these parameters.

* low transaction fee.

Which of the cryto trading exchange meet this criteria.

For an exchange and trading platform to be good, it has to be secure.
For it to attract users then transaction fee should be at a low rate and be secured.
The wider the geographical usage the higher the volume of transaction too.

Which crypto exchange and trading platform had been Hacked?

I learnt that Huobi has never been hacked before in the history of the trading platform operations.

Well, among the ten number of choices I only use Coinbase not only for security but also I have trusted the platform since I started here. The rest perhaps be good as well. Before my friend who introduced me in the crypto world uses the same platform so to make things easier for me when I was new I decided to use Coinbase as well for immediate assistance if I don't understand some things in the platform. Indeed, it will be our own discretion on which or how many of them we will use for our activities because I know any issues that they may have will surely be addressed in no time to maintain the trust that we have on them.

Thanks for this experience.
You mentioned trust as the reason why you use coinbase right. I think trust is also based on some factor?

Why do you have so much trust for Coinbase exchange?
357  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Your Best trading platform is? on: May 12, 2020, 03:05:14 PM

2. What is special about coinbase that almost all the website are ranking it to be the best crypto trading platform?

I think Coinbase affiliate program pays the most for new sign ups so most of these rankings are fake and only serve to attract new referrals.
It's like those fake hosting rankings where Bluehost, HostGator and the like always come first just because they pay the most in the affiliate program. But in reality, they have probably the worst hosting service.

BTW, what about that ugly image in your post? Was that really necessary? Grin

As for the image, every image has a message its passing across. As a crypto analyst you should know this.

See the signals
See the histogram
See coinbase
See smartphone device and
See the green colour

Then what can you infer from this in relation to trading?
358  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why You choose Crypto Trading instead of Forex Trading. on: May 12, 2020, 07:07:49 AM

  • Crypto markets never close, forex do for retail traders
  • When you're not trading, holding a deflationary currency is better than holding an inflationary currency (in theory)
  • Less professional competition for now

You've a great remark.
The forex market is 24/5 is 24 hours everyday for 5days and there is no trading in weekends.
The crypto market is 24/7 that means 24hours in seven days and there is no stop.

I feel a currency platform that trade non stop should preferable as you can trade anytime of the day and any days of the week.
359  Economy / Trading Discussion / Your Best trading platform is? on: May 12, 2020, 07:01:06 AM
Crypto exchange platforms.

I've been studying the exchange platforms available for crypto trading and I saw a list of ten top crypto trading platforms from Cryptodetail.

I'll list below in order of rating.
1. Coinbase
2. Binance
3. CEX.IO
4. Localbitcoins
5. Bitfinex
6.Bittrex
7. Kraken
8. Coinmama
9. Changelly
10. Prime XBT

In that ranking order we can see that Coinbase is the top and probably the best trading platforms. I found out that coinbase doesn't only offer trading services it also license other businesses to use its API for crypto payment related transaction.

I want us to discuss on the following areas.

1. From your experience which of the trading platform has great features and epic user experience (UX) that new traders should learn to use.

2. What is special about coinbase that almost all the website are ranking it to be the best crypto trading platform?

. Fundamental always affect crypto and we can noticed that, but always have even a basic guide on technical so you would have idea how to move or creatw such action when right time for buy and sell is imminent.

I believe both trades are affected by price movement which is technical analysis and politics and trends which is fundamental analysis.
A combination of the two will ensure that there is an optimal advantage to a  trader.

There are people that trade based on political news while there others that trade based on price movement.
A hybridization of the two will be perfect.
