341  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is a Standing Desk the Right Choice for Traders? on: October 09, 2023, 06:48:52 PM

In the world of cryptocurrency trading, where every minute counts, the choice between a standing desk and a traditional chair can be a topic of hot debate. I've spent 15 years on trading floors, and I've experienced both sides of the spectrum. Standing desks have their perks, offering potential health benefits and increased alertness, which can be crucial for making quick decisions in the volatile crypto market.

I didn't know this could be a topic and I haven't got your point of making quick decisions by using a standing desk.

It depends on the user's desires and requirements. A desk that can change its highest can be a good option. If you think you want to work standing or sitting on a chair you can do that. Sometimes I also feel like it would have been convenient for me if I could change my body position frequently when working in front of my desk. I have seen this kind of desk is available in the Amazon store.
342  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do You Use Crypto Signals? on: October 09, 2023, 06:38:53 PM
Absulouty, not because most of these paid groups don't provide any analysis, facts, or related events behind their predictions. They just want you to buy the token that they have already bought before giving the signal. If you notice closely most of these projects and low cap coin so when their followers buy that token from the market that token gets a slight pump and that signal group claims how good their predictions are. A knowledgeable person won't join this type of group.
343  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do you have any methods to do it? on: October 09, 2023, 06:08:38 PM
I am in crypto for a few years and i have good knowledge of the crypto markets and their behavior. For the past few years, I am mostly invested in some top crypto project and held it till I get decent profits. You can say i am a holder. Now i want to try something different. I want to try day trading methods to generate a daily income from the spot market.

Is that even possible to earn 50$-100$ every day with spot trading? If yes then what methods you are using and how do you manage your risk?

What is your portfolio, I must say that profit mostly depends on a person's portfolio, that is how much he has and how much ability he has to lose in trading at a time, he should cover himself.

The amount of $50-$100 needs a decent portfolio, through which you can generate this earning. above $15k would be better for it. How much experience do you have in crypto? If you have gained much experience and know the trading strategies then losing pressure will be less and the target is achievable, but if you are not experienced enough then it will be almost risky at some points.

But you have always been ready for a loss, some days you get more than $100, or also you can lose more than $100, so consistency is far more important, I hope you understand what I mean!

I can not totally agree on that. Having a strong portfolio is important but this is not the only factor that will give you an amazing result. A good money management strategy and having the courage to make the right decision in time are some key factors that should be on our minds. Without proper money management your portfolio can be at risk so I wanted to know the overall strategy. The plan to enter a trade, exit from it and use a money management strategy.

I am looking for CEX actually. Though i do not like them nor hold any funds there but sometimes i need to use them.
Hope you are ready for some KYC  Roll Eyes
Anyway, If this is your preference, I would suggest going for the top names of CeXs that you already mentioned or better yet use CMC exchange rankings >>>> https://coinmarketcap.com/rankings/exchanges.

Out of curiosity what's the catch here, arbitrage trading or p2p and trying to find a good source for cheaper coins??

If that exchange has a good reputation then I have no problem with KYC but at first, I need to make sure they do support deposits for native segwit addresses. I saw that some CEX have a mandatory KYC policy where they don't even let you look at the supporting network for your deposit first. I know we can find it on the internet but all the sources are not reliable. Some exchange

Are you limiting your search to CEX or you are also looking for decentralized exchanges?

I am looking for CEX actually. Though i do not like them nor hold any funds there but sometimes i need to use them.

There is bitMax, Kraken and Bitstamp. But I don’t get why you can’t use the four exchanges because they are the most popular ones around and would be better than others.

You can look at this link for others https://bitcoinops.org/en/compatibility/

I am not sure about bitmax or bitstamp but kraken doesn't support deposit for segwit address. I looked at it before and bitstamp is not available in my region. By the way thanks for the link. I think I need to look for any dex that supports P2P transactions for that network.

346  Other / Beginners & Help / Exchange that offer depositing bitcoin from segwit address? on: October 08, 2023, 08:15:46 PM
Do you know any exchange that accept deposit from bitcoins native segwit address beside binance, coinbase, gemini, okex and kucoin? I tried to find one but most of them support deposit only from bitcoin legacy address. I sometimes use binance but from the past few days having trouble to log into the platform and i don't want to use any from other 4. So if you are using any exchange that provide decent service and support native segwit deposit drop a comment.

Online businesses are growing rapidly due to their ability to reach a wide range of customers quickly. Your offline business's targeted customers are based in a certain region while an online business can help a company sell their product on a global scale. Its cost efficiency in storage, salesman, security makes it the first choice for a company. You don't need to store your product in a warehouse as you can sell other products through a website. This is why dropshipping businesses are popular on the internet.
The dropshipping business was indeed popular, I was also dropshipping a few years ago but finally had to stop because of the online store policy that was fruitful and gave us only a little profit and the online store system that did not really support dropshipping.

In addition, there is a new phenomenon currently making waves in my country,
namely about TiktokShop which is a live-streaming platform for selling online at very low prices and can even get free shipping.

But when traced deeper, TiktokShop does not fully comply with the regulations in my country because it turns out that many foreign goods enter at very cheap prices and local goods lose out on the competition.

Finally, the Tiktokshop closure regulation has been running since September 4.
But I don't know what the regulations will be, maybe there will be some more adjustments.

https://www.thejakartapost.com/business/2023/10/04/tiktok-to-stop-sales-in-indonesia-after-social-commerce-ban.html

I have seen some people livestream on TikTok to sell their products. In my place some sellers do this kind of live selling in face and took orders for their products. Dropshipping is still a popular business and there isn't much regulatory action towards it. This TiktokShop you are talking about is still new in here but due to its popularity in the country i think this will also take it's place in the market.
348  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Common mistakes by unskilled traders on: October 08, 2023, 04:59:47 PM
Many newbie and crypto enthusiastic think trading is easy until they lose on the first day, 1 week,1month, 1year and they finally quit.

A newbie trader's fatal mistake is entering a pump trading group or non-VIP trading signal group. In many cases they get trapped and lose funds because of misleading signal instructions

Being lazy about studying or having minimal literacy just enters an altcoin pair without reading about important event updates - developments on these coins are also very important to expedite trading activities in seeking profits.

Trading is not as easy as newbies see. Many pro traders spend their time all day following news events related to coins, politics, economics, development, technical and fundamental analysis. The bitterness and sweetness of a trader is not measured by profit, but by how tough you are in carrying out the tough routine of collecting analytical material.

Some people are just trying to follow the shortcut which causes financial damage through their poor trading skills. All these paid singular groups usually emerge in the bull market when most of the projects start rallying following bitcoin. You won't find any of these groups in the bear market because their predictions are based on their emotions.

Some people think trading is all about technical and fundamental knowledge about the market which prevents them from recognizing the importance of other factors like new events, development, politics etc. They got easily attracted to some flashy ads on social media and some self-proclaimed YouTubers.

If used correctly, social media will be a positive input to support trading. For example, Twitter, there is a lot of important event information on Twitter, we can use it by following the coin project account. Every coin project must have a Twitter social media account which they usually use to update each event and its developments.

Discussing YouTube related to trading activities is actually very helpful, especially for newbies who like to find information through video explanations. There are many videos related to trading and technical analysis that we can learn there by directly watching YouTube traders in action. However, unfortunately there are also influencers who do not educate and trade in a careless and misleading manner.

All the crypto projects have their presence on twitter for a specific reason. Twitter is widely popular in the western world and a new startup project wants to attract investors from that part of the region. This also makes Twitter an attractive platform for scammers. So your investment should not be based on any research from twitter though it is advisable to invest in any project that has an active twitter handle and keeps its community updated.

YouTube has become more like a place for influencers to gain followers by sharing unique and attractive ideas. People easily get attracted because they often discuss something that no one knows. Most of them are paid influencers and add little value to their analysis.
349  Economy / Economics / Re: Deposits-in the bank or in gold? on: October 08, 2023, 02:34:51 PM
How to save savings in inflation, there are many deposits provided by the bank, but banks often go bankrupt, does it make sense to buy gold? How is gold bought in a bank and interest is issued on it?

The title seems misleading because you cannot deposit in gold you can invest in it. The title can be "keep your savings in the bank or in the gold?".

Anyway I think the OP doesn't have good knowledge about finance. If the bank is providing 5% interest and inflation is also 5% then what is the point of holding fiat in a bank? On the contrary the price of gold is increasing over time as are its widely acceptable assets. TBH it doesn't matter if it's gold or any other assets you are investing in. The point is to keep your savings on assets not in the bank. A bank can go bankrupt, and your savings can be lost when gold is a physical object that won't lose its weight over time.

-snip-
Since we're in the era of the internet, we could find many things that we can consider as money sources such as online selling, reselling or jobs. If you explore more for sure you could find a well paying job. If you really want to aim for a higher job, as you said government has a free education in public schools.
In this modern era of the internet, online business is growing rapidly and many offline sellers are starting to switch to online sales.
Some of the advantages of selling online are that it does not require an official place or shop to reduce taxes, Online sales marketing is easier and there are many ways that can be done to promote online sales.

But the problem at the moment is the skills of each person, if the government provides training for each field needed to build their work, then it will be the right way.
As well as cooperating with many companies that need new workers so that from the training program there are outputs and inputs that are mutually beneficial.

Some of the trainees are also expected to build their own businesses and create new jobs.
Being a businessman will provide many opportunities for others as well.

352  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is regulation of cryptocurrency exchanges essential for mass adoption? on: October 08, 2023, 01:50:49 PM

The leading cryptocurrency exchange Binance which is supposed to take the lead in regulatory compliance seems to be having troubles with many countries already due to one regulatory issues to another ranging from licensing, operating within the legal framework of the country and compliance to regulation in general which have caused their exit from countries like United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Switzerland, Japan and others.

True, but Binance is trying to hide a lot of information, starting from its headquarters and ending with many reports that talk about the misuse of customer funds.

Not only binance most of the centralized exchanges are involved in this kind of activity. They are no better than FTX, they just aren't caught yet. I think the SEC is planning something for binance and they have evidence against it. The resignation of binance CEO from led me to the conclusion that he knows binance can be accused in the future and charge huge penalties.
353  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Announce your story with Bitcoin, first purchase, sale, business, education ... on: October 08, 2023, 01:18:25 PM
I can see many people don't like this topic and think it's not adding any value. Talking about someone's journey to bitcoin isn't that boring. Most of our stories are unique, and there is something to learn from them.
I believe they will feel their stories don't add any value after reading this thread and they dislike this thread because it helps them to recognize their thread value.

Three more stories: buying bitcoin, salary in bitcoin, building a house with bitcoin.
My bitcoin journey has started again
I want to fulfill my mother's dream of building a house with Bitcoin.
I recently convinced my employer to start paying me in BTC, it has been great

First I thought it was really motivational to share our stories with others and learn something from them. But what I realize is that some new members are trying to use this as a trend to get merit by seeing some of their earlier merit. Thats why for the past few days news members have been coming to the forum and creating a topic of their own to share their bitcoin stories. Their behavior seems so innocent that they knew about bitcoin for the past few years but recently learned about this forum!
354  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: HODL is purely a mental challenge on: October 08, 2023, 01:13:03 PM
This will be the solution since for making busy theirselves on their day job they can make them forget some things that can distract them on decision making to hold. Maybe on trading strategy it depends on the skills of traders since daily traders can still possibly earn more than bigger if they are good on trading. Holding is risky option but if this is done in right time and proper mental assessment for sure we can are successful earners since we have bull run seasons and that time can make us earn huge profit if we have long patience to wait.

If they do short term holding then its not a bad thing since the trader could decide for his self if what timeline he could able to sell his coins and as long as he earns then everything is fine on selected settings.

Holding can be risky if you are thinking about holding something that doesn't have massive support from the industry. Holding assets like gold, silver, bitcoin always seems profitable in the long term. Day trading can be profitable but it requires extensive knowledge about the market and experience. Despite that there isn't a guarantee that all of your trading will be successful.

However day trading requires time and patience, which can be challenging for many of us. A full-time professional trader can be a good profession if your earnings are sufficient to cover your family expenses. Even if you have a great skill and earn enough money to maintain your economic stability, it is advisable to have multiple income sources, as sometimes it can be dangerous to have only one income source.
355  Economy / Economics / Re: Agriculture vs oil on: October 07, 2023, 09:21:00 PM
We know the oil market is booming and countries with oil resources are really making a huge fund out of it and sometimes they do it at the negligence of another local natural resource.

But, of course, the agricultural sector, though not given the proper recognition and the required investment is one sector that contributes seriously to the development and dependence of most nations .

No matter how blessed a country is with oil minerals, if its agricultural sector isn't working and she has to rely on other country for her food and agricultural resources then in event of war or political differences they might suffer.

Agriculture vs oil, which is the big deal when it comes to the economic strength of a country?

Why are we making this comparison? Both are essential for our economy. When agriculture grows and cultivates crops for our economy on the other hand oil keeps the wheel of the economy running. Some people think extracting natural resources from the ground is damaging our environment and reducing farmland. This can be partially true but that doesn't mean our food cultivation has decreased. Technological advancement and research in the agricultural sector give us highly productive seed for crops.
356  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The most risky adventure you must avoid on: October 07, 2023, 09:00:19 PM
There is one adventure that i will never try in trading is opening a future position with high leverage. Future trading with high leverage can multiply your profits significantly but it will multiply your risk as well. I prefer to trade in the spot market so that if price goes down I can lower my average and exit that trade in break even. Even I can hold that position for as long as I want which reduces any risk significantly.
357  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How long to learn trading? on: October 07, 2023, 08:55:15 PM
I spoke to a tutor who teaches trading, and he said for his lectures, he teaches for an extended period of nine months for anyone who wants to learn trading from him. Please I like to read the personal experience of some traders here, how long did it take you to learn to trade profitably, and what was the hardest thing to learn? did it take you weeks, months or years? Do you think that trading can be learnt well in a short time like three weeks for a quick trader? Can someone who is a proffesional trader just go straight to the point pointing out what is needed to make a successful trader to a newbie to learn quickly?

You can learn about price action, chart, indicators within a few days but this will not be sufficient to make you profitable in your trading. Experience is one of the crucial factors that matters most. Someone might have great knowledge about every thing related to trading but have failed to make any profit from the market. If you want to start trading then gain basic knowledge about trading first and start with a small amount. You will gain more knowledge and experience along the way.

That tutor you are talking about seems like a salesman to me. If he is that good at trading then why does he need to teach others and charge money for it? If he is motivated to spread his knowledge to others then why don't he open a YouTube channel and share his experience with others? I try to stay ten steps away from this type of salesman.

In case someone uses his BTC and ETH or other address in the forum and he only have access to his ETH address or any other address from a different blockchain.

I think it depends a lot on the account at stake to be recovered.
Although the pinned posts clearly say only BTC there is at least one case of recovery via ETH:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5284615.0

Sometimes we lose access to our seed phrase if we are not serious enough about our account security.

Same thing I asked OP about, if you can't keep your seed safe, then what about your coins?
Thank you for the concerns, I really mean it. It's not that I lost my seed or something, its just I wanted know know, if by any chance someone looses it. I am serious about my account security. But despite everything, we still see, people loosing their seed, coins, account even with the highest security.  Smiley

I have a ballet cold wallet that can be used to secure user funds and as long as my wallet is not exposed to someone, I don't think I need to worry about anything. It's a steel plate and you can keep it safe like you keep your gold and diamonds if you have any.

BTW, I can see you are new to the forum and I expect you are in the industry as well. But you are not a newbie and by observing your account, sometimes i can see you have gained basic knowledge as well. So it should not be hard for you to secure your asset.

I understood that it was very rare but not impossible. I don't have much interest in account recovery so may I know what factors they look at when recovering someone's account? I think it's not like you just sign in with your BTC address and they will give you access to that account.

I have learned my lesson before by losing a few thousand dollars. One time it was because of my carelessness and another time i wasn't careful enough to read the whole procedure (it was with a different blockchain where every time you use your Priver key to gain access to your account you will get a new one and your old one will be invalid).

I mean you have a good point, but I guess it wasn't really that bad to go for early profit as long as it is still a profit even though it wasn't a big amount of profit, profit still profits so it is still good enough, also it wouldn't really matter since you're going to have the opportunity to reinvest your money again in case the market price drop again if the market price starts to skyrocket again arent you going to sell your Bitcoin, I believed that there were just some investors that doesnt really have the plan to sell there Bitcoin which I think is a good move but isn't a waste since your investing in cryptocurrency or Bitcoin in order to make a profit right? probably some are going to save not only for profit, but let's be honest we all invest just to make a good amount of profit, so if we did make a good profit aren't you going to sell your holdings?

I also agree, whether to hodl or sell in short term as long as the person is in profit it is still a good trade/investment.  It would be better if one is knowledgeable with trading to exercise trading then holding since trading can greatly increase an investors position if all his actions is a success.  There might be more risk involve but if successful the investor can reap more reward or profit.  Short term holdin isn't also a bad thing as long as he is able to rinse and repeat his action.  Besides profit will never be realized if we don't sell our stash.

If you have another profession and cannot dedicate your time to trading then it is advisable for you to consider the DCA strategy to build a portfolio for you to hold. Some experts say holders profits are greater than interday traders profits most of the time. Holders don't take much loss if they have great portfolio management skills and have the patience to hold their assets for enough time.
