341  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi’s Place, U.K. Bury, Greater Manchester on: March 23, 2023, 07:08:25 PM
Congratulations on this initiative!

I think Opening a Bitcoin Hub in the UK is an interesting and ambitious project. By focusing on education and promoting the use of Bitcoin, you can help advance the adoption and understanding of this innovative technology.

Good luck with your endeavours!
342  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: 21 million units what is the reason for reaching this value? on: March 23, 2023, 07:00:46 PM
I think it is very relevant to limit the total supply of Bitcoin to 21 million units, the creators of cryptocurrencies are trying to prevent inflation and maintain the purchasing power of cryptocurrencies over time to create scarcity and ensure the long term value of cryptocurrencies and This is different from traditional fiat currencies, which can be inflated through government policies such as quantitative easing or deficit spending.

As the Bitcoin supply approaches its limit, miners will rely more and more on transaction fees to maintain their profitability. This creates a positive feedback loop where higher transaction fees encourage more miners to join the network, which in turn results in greater network security and stability.

The limit of 21 million units in the Bitcoin source code is a key feature of the cryptocurrency that has helped promote its long-term value and stability.
343  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Forever on: March 23, 2023, 06:53:42 PM
Today, knowing both worlds, it is the only currency that I trust, it is the only system that I trust and I will dedicate my life to carry this forward. Bitcoin forever.
I remember the times that I made fiat transaction and it failed, going to bank several times before it was solved, this happens twice to me before.

It is true that fiat is flawed, but we still so much depend on it because people like to support what the government support. We still use fiat for many reasons, some people that are into crypto and receiving salary or wage in bitcoin or other crypto still depending on fiat and they convert their salary or wage to fiat for spending.

But fiat makes us lacks freedom from government, bitcoin gives the freedom. Fiat is also decreasing in value, unlike bitcoin which can be considered as a speculative asset and a  store of value.

I like your enthusiasm but bitcoin has not yet broken the financial system.
Nothing can break the fiat financial system. Bitcoin was not created to breake the financial system. It is just an alternative and we have many types of money, bitcoin belongs to one type which are a valuing asset.

We might see a big change when CBDC has been launched by the government, it's either they will ban Bitcoin or they still consider to accept it.
CBDCs are not different from fiat, why would bitcoin be banned because of CBDC/fiat when the fiat are existing before bitcoin.

Why is there always concern among some governments or central banks about the potential impact of Bitcoin on financial stability?
344  Economy / Speculation / Re: why Bitcoin Dumping ? on: February 24, 2023, 02:03:20 PM
All of these possibilities exist. Some of them are very high and maybe due to some whales and trading companies dumping their coins to reduce the price. For me, correction is normal. For BTC, I'm sure it will rebound, the name of the market is that the price will definitely go up and down. You will get know when you trade with a good knowledge .
345  Economy / Economics / Re: Is there a way to invest in food related industry to recoup market inefficiency on: February 24, 2023, 01:57:04 PM
When making investment decisions, one should attempt to understand the factors that will impact your investment. One way to do this is by looking at the correlation of food commodity price and the S&P 500.  In general, food commodity prices and the S&P 500 are negatively correlated, meaning that when food commodity prices are high, stock prices typically fall.

if  invested in an asset that was positively correlated with food commodities, then you would see a higher return as compared to investing in an asset that is negatively correlated with food commodities.
346  Economy / Economics / Re: Cheap food: can you beat this price in your country? on: February 24, 2023, 01:46:50 PM
If you live in a city, you have plenty of options. You might have to get a little creative and ask around, but if it's free or very cheap, that might be worth the trouble. If you're more interested in great food and interesting experiences than simple sustenance, that's wonderful—but it's also the fastest way to empty your wallet.
347  Economy / Economics / Re: does bitcoin help in your economy? on: February 24, 2023, 01:41:14 PM
If we have invested with BTC. I think there are many reasons to believe that over time, the use of bitcoin will continue to help our economy and that of our families. Increased profits can lead to an increase in the level of expertise in this business, which also has a positive effect on the economy.

e.g. yes, As the value of bitcoin rises, those holding their coins and waiting to sell may see the value of their investment increase. At the same time, even if people spend bitcoins to buy things with their digital money, it is still a boon for many businesses around the world.

In short, yes, bitcoin can help.

FUD is a very strong force in the market right now and it seems to be contagious and in my opinion as a user I don't feel worried about my funds. There are many reasons for someone to use Binance, but the most important is security. i see everything is fine only the situation is no different than before it's just that i hope it won't be shut down by any regulator.
350  Economy / Economics / Re: Tesla’s stock prices dropping fast on: December 14, 2022, 09:19:58 AM
Overall, I like following Elon Musk because he's interesting and he has a lot of cool projects going on. However, he's not the best at handling Twitter. Sometimes it's hard to understand what he means and his short-worded tweets can lead to confusion among readers.

In the end, Musk is a shrewd investor who knows how to play the game. He's smart enough to realize when he needs to make a few sacrifices for the greater good. At the same time, this Twitter incident has given us some great insight into how Musk's mind works. That alone might make it worth it.
351  Economy / Economics / Re: This could be the biggest news in 2022 on: December 14, 2022, 09:13:02 AM
I think this trend is likely to increase in the future, especially if more ties can be built between Bitcoin and traditional currencies. We'll have to see how this first investment pans out before we fully understand the ramifications, but it looks like a promising step towards mainstream adoption.
352  Economy / Economics / Re: Central Bank of Nigeria to limit cash withdrawals on: December 12, 2022, 05:11:48 PM
I think the decision is well made to limit cash based economic activities to control the current situation in the country. meaning that banks are trying to protect the interests of the state in the midst of the current economic crisis especially for more pressing matters to be taken care of by the government such as job creation, empowerment, good infrastructure, etc.
353  Economy / Economics / Re: Binance's Alleged Crypto Audit Failed, Its Auditor Refused to Vouch For It on: December 12, 2022, 05:03:55 PM
In my opinion Binance does have the best interests of its customers in mind, but investors and traders should be aware of the fact that auditors cannot verify client funds, only how they are held. As far as I can tell, this is standard for most exchanges. This doesn't mean that your funds aren't safe on an exchange, but you should pause to consider how these exchanges hold their customers' coins.
354  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Strong Hands Are Buying on: December 12, 2022, 04:48:21 PM
The more bitcoins available, the easier it is for people to buy. The lower the price, the easier it is to get it especially for The strong hands.

The question is whether this will increase the level of resistance higher for each dump, especially during the current period which is very vulnerable to correction??
355  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What Bitcoin unit look like in real life on: December 12, 2022, 04:35:38 PM
if i'm not mistaken, the best way to use the bitcoins is to keep them safe. Because the more you transact your bitcoin, the difficulty nature of bitcoin transaction increases and it will be easy to loose your bitcoin value. So as you get more number of bitcoins then keep it as safe as possible. And try your best to use them only for trading or paying bills.
356  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think about TON? on: July 22, 2022, 02:20:42 AM
I've invested some money in it and waiting for its growth but it's kinda stable rn. Also I'm wodering should i invest more moeny in it or no. When do you think it will grow and will it grow at all? Really want to hear the opinion of some more experienced traders

In my personal opinion, I think TON will grow as time goes on. It does seem a bit stable rn but as more and more people use it the price will slowly rise. I'm confident it'll reach $7 in the future. Of course there's no way of knowing exactly when it will happen.
357  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will exchanges control ETH after it becomes a PoS cryptocurrency? on: July 22, 2022, 02:07:45 AM
I think, There's no telling how the crypto market will be affected, but there are a few factors that could mitigate the fallout. For starters, decentralized exchanges have been on the rise for the past year or so. One of these was even hacked for hundreds of millions of dollars in cryptocurrency, yet the market responded unfalteringly. Why? Because decentralized exchanges place power in the hands of the individual with no third party entity to siphon funds from multiple parties.
358  Economy / Economics / Re: Sri Lanka Economic Crisis is Getting Worse on: July 22, 2022, 01:52:52 AM

Quote
“Today in this country we have a fuel crisis, a food shortage, we have the head of the World Food Program coming here and we have several matters to discuss with the IMF,” Wickremesinghe said. “Therefore, if this government leaves there should be another government.”

Saturday the 9th of July the Sri Lankan palace finally became the final point where everything broke and was unavoidable. The crisis that befell this country is getting more and more unstoppable, plus the impact of the pandemic and the death of the tourism industry due to terrorist attacks in 2019. Protesters burst into the palace. Sri Lanka's president and prime minister inaugurated himself and fled by plane.

Some of Sri Lanka problems which I summarize as follows:
  • Debt swells to $51 billion
  • Corruption has increased dramatically
  • High imports to meet needs are not supported by exports to global markets
  • Gasoline out of stock
  • Breakthrough inflation reaches 60%
  • Civil servants are not paid
  • Power failure
  • School closed
  • Hospitals as health facilities are also collapsing
  • Silenced freedom of speech, and
  • People experience experiences from all sectors, especially the economy in supporting their daily needs (food, drink, clothing, and housing).

From this incident, a corrupt government that only cares about personal interests on the basis of ambition will lead to destruction. An unbalanced economic system and uncertainty about campaign promises are the main weapons.

What do you think about the economic crisis in Sri Lanka?

Source:

It seems clear that an economic crisis can have many effects on different populations. For Sri Lanka, the 2019 crisis has hit the people hard as inflation of basic goods and currency depreciation has left 7 million people there as 'invisible poor'

Although a particular example of this economic crisis may have occurred in Sri Lanka which you raised as a topic, this, but this impact is also not only in that country but also in other countries in my opinion.
359  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / BTC or Gold Investment? on: July 22, 2022, 01:45:15 AM
To me both look good, investing in gold first or BTC later, but I'm confused by the current market conditions especially in terms of ROI, who is the fastest to move on?
360  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto Market analysis on: July 20, 2022, 05:31:13 AM
Although we can't know for sure what the future of SOL will look like, I'll try to give you a little opinion: I think it's bullish. Looks like they have some interesting things planned, and I think they're going to do a lot more than hang on.
