doesnt matter

if you lose all of this invsetment and everyone wants their btc back

will you raid bitfunder user balances to repay this loan

ukyo answer

Uh, No?
We are talking 1.5BTC per day at absolute max.
BitFunder easily makes that.

Btw, I would appreciate you removing '[BitFunder]' from the title of your asset post on here since it is misleading people and you are not actually listed on BitFunder.

You didn't state if the private investment opportunity was legacy market or bitcoin. Would be helpful to know.

"Opportunities" technically. Some of it will be for some new things for WeExchange. So part of it is definitely for Bitcoin related activities.
Other parts are just offline business opportunities.

343  Economy / Securities / Re: [BitFunder] Ukyo.Loan - Paying 0.05% daily. on: July 19, 2013, 12:40:09 AM
I am paying 0.06% weekly this isnt the best returns

also if you go backrupt will u pay back this loan with bitfunder funds

I don't foresee any issues with bankruptcy.
As long as BitFunder or other things produce daily BTC income, covering this should not be an issue.

345  Local / 跳蚤市场 / Chinese/English translator needed - Part Time Job offer on: July 18, 2013, 04:57:00 PM
Hello,

I am in need of a Chinese/English (or more) translator.

Looking to pay in BTC on a weekly basis.

Duties will include:

Helping to translate my sites into a Chinese friendly version ( BitFunder and WeExchange )
Support Tickets / E-Mails in Chinese

And any other related needs.
I am looking for a native speaker/writer fully fluent in Chinese and has excellent English.

Currently, once the site's are translated, I would expect very little work. (Depending on how popular we get with Chinese users.)

I would also ask that you have Skype.

If you are interested please PM me with a weekly BTC price. (Please include your skype name also)

Thank You,
Ukyo

Operates BitFunder and WeExchange

Thoughts
Many people have asked to 'invest' into BitFunder or WeExchange and have been denied.
You can think of this as a sort of round-about investment for now.

Interest:
- Shares shall pay an interest of 0.05% daily.

Shares value:
- Shares have a face value of 0.01 BTC
- Shares retain a minimum of $0.1 USD value each.

Should any event make Bitcoins become valued at less than $0.1 USD per Bitcoin or impossible to be transacted, you may request to redeem your shares for $0.1 USD instead.

Redeeming Shares:
- Shares can be redeemed at face value anytime upon request.
- Redeeming shares may take some time to liquidate positions or procure more BTC.

Description:
I have been presented with an interesting opportunity that I would prefer to not sell off other investments for.
This loan is for private investment purposes.
This loan is not tied to the success or failure of any business, investments, or opportunities.
This loan should not be defaulted on unless personal bankruptcy is officially declared.
Consider it a personal loan.

Buyback
The issuer reserves the right to buy back shares at 110% of the last 30 days average market price.
(Why a buyback? Because sometime things just have to end. Smiley

You can request refund of the loan at face value anytime.
Redeeming bonds may take some time to liquidate positions or procure more BTC if no liquid BTC is available.

349  Economy / Securities / Re: Lab Rat Data Processing, LLC (LabRatMining) Official Announcement on: July 17, 2013, 05:06:17 PM
2) The total network hash rate will hit 1500 TH/s (1.5PH/s - peta hash) by that time.
3) Lab_Rat will only ever deliver equivalent of 100MH/s per share. (contrary to stated plan)
4) These shares will continue to be worth 0.15 BTCs each with no growth (or reduction).

The problem is right here. You can say that BTC0.15 per 100MH/s is a great price right now (network at ~250TH/s), but when the network reaches 1500TH/s, 100MH/s is worth then 0.15*250/1500 = BTC0.025, an 83% devaluation.

The only counter measure to this is if bitcoin price continues to go back up. Wink
350  Economy / Securities / Re: [BitFunder] Asset Exchange Marketplace + Rewritable Options Trading on: July 16, 2013, 11:27:20 PM
How come weexchange does not include transaction fee for withdrawals? When I withdraw with 0 transaction fee my transaction takes forever to make its way into the blockchain.

Due to the defaults and the inner workings of bitcoind not allowing an easy way to set a per-transfer tx fee (Last I looked) is the reason why.
We have been working on a new bitcoin setup with additional security added in that will allow users to choose a fee to pay (or none).
This will be available with the new weexchange site.

Hi Jose,

This issue has already been resolved. Smiley

As for time, we are working towards localization.

Thanks!
Ukyo

Today I've been getting "Error: An invalid or duplicated request has been submitted." about a third of the time trying to make valid buy/sell orders (that have enough shares or BTC to cover them). Often happens if make the buy/sell order after cancelling a previous one.

Yes, this has happened to me constantly. After I cancel an order, I have to reload a fresh page in Chrome, then I will be able to post another order. Some bug here.

Also, I have requested that server time be posted somewhere on the top of the page, or users are given an option to set times to display in their local timezones...

hopefully these suggestions help =)
353  Economy / Securities / Re: [BTC-TC] Virtual Community Exchange w/ Options, DRIP, 2FA, API, CSV, etc. on: July 12, 2013, 05:18:36 PM
Hmm...  a couple of things, maybe.

You could send a text message via Twilio if the user has a mobile phone on their account, and have the user respond with a confirmation code.  Once that code is sent, the password reset email could be forwarded to the client.  This has the benefit of being able to automate.

Or you could require users to sign a message using the bitcoin address associated with the account.  If that's successful, the email can be sent to reset the password.

edit:  I hate security questions and answers, because the same ones seem to be used for every site, which isn't very secure.  Chances are good that if the attacker got access to the user's email address, he did it via the security questions and a little googling.    I always enter a random string into the answer field and save it in my password manager.

I built up a list of about 10~20 so far. Will keep adding.
Was also going to allow custom q/a's too.
354  Economy / Securities / Re: [BTC-TC] Virtual Community Exchange w/ Options, DRIP, 2FA, API, CSV, etc. on: July 12, 2013, 05:13:57 PM
It would be nice to have a recovery key like on inputs.io in case you lost your password or 2FA. That way manual recovery is not required, but you need to trust the user to save the key securely.

Here's the rundown:

- Password ... can be reset via forgotten password process.  (sends an email with link... the usual)
- PIN ... write it down!
- Google 2FA ... we display the QR code and secret key before you turn it on.  Either write it down or print it.
- Permanent withdrawal address locks ... do not turn it on unless you really want permanent.

I have a lot (A LOT) of requests pending right now for reset and lock removal requests.  I think I'm around 3-4 days behind.  This is because ~3 days ago a hacker obtained control of a user's email account, requested a PIN reset, and thus used the user's email to take total control of the BTC-TC account.  I've been investigating and trying to find a way to prevent this going forward.  The user was a gmail user, they could have used 2FA on their email and prevented it.  But that is not my focus because other email providers do not have 2FA.  My focus has been trying to figure out a way to prevent reset requests from ending in compromised accounts.

This is especially true with PIN and 2FA reset requests.  It makes me sick to think that someone would turn on 2FA, then because that user's email gets compromised I might hand over full account control via reset request.  Ugh.

The alternative for me is to not allow reset requests.  And I don't think that's a good idea either.

I think instead what I'm going to do is setup an interface on the site where you can request PIN/2FA/Withdrawal Lock resets.  When you submit the request, it will go into a queue.  That queue will have a 30 day countdown.  At intervals during the countdown, emails will be sent out and updates posted in the portfolio page regarding the pending action.  Then at the end of 30 days whatever the requested action is will be taken.

I will also most likely offer an accelerated countdown to users willing to post an escrow of 150% of the value of the contents of the account, to be held for the countdown period in place of the account itself.

However inconvenient this may be, it should take care of 90% or more of the compromised email account issues.  Hackers simply won't be able to quickly profit anymore.

Can anyone else think of improvements on this plan?

Cheers.

Hey Burnside,

Normally I don't post in your thread but I do have a suggestion! Smiley
I am adding in security questions to both weex and bf. This is a good way to let people prove who they are and a simple db/code add.

Cheers! Smiley

Same here, i have also problem on Weexchange with 2-Factor. They have strange interface for that. Hope support will get me out of trouble, but i am already waiting for about 14 days Sad

Well, now you tell me your having a 2-factor problem.
Your pm's only asked about the lockout message, and then stated you couldn't login. (Which is why I just responded to you asking if you recently enabled 2-factor.)

To fix a stuck 2-factor, do a password reset, and pm me the reset code. (Don't actually change your password.)
I will get it fixed up for you.

Also, WeExchange has a new website, and has been beta testing its new trading system that has huge BTC trading volumes and proper market prices available for CAD and AUD.
If anyone is interested, pm me. Smiley

356  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BitFunder.com has been hacked and IT IS BitFunder's fault on: July 10, 2013, 02:47:17 PM
Does this one (http://www.maxoutput.com/authenticator/) is good to use with 2-factor ?
It work with bitfunder, then I would add 2-factor on weexchange and now I can't login again, weexchange is very "unstable" like a "beta website"  Angry

Most likely you failed to enter the password when setting up 2-factor on weexchange, and the page reloaded changing your 2-factor code after you had already scanned it, and then you locked yourself out.

If you need help with this, pm me.

Thanks,
Ukyo

The only thing that remains to do is the shares that are still in the issuer's account to not receive any dividends.

Which is being worked on. Smiley

358  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Group Buy]12 KNCminer Jupiter's 15 Sold [Closed] Jupiter Pool on: July 08, 2013, 10:42:59 PM
I took a look at Bitfunder, but am not that familiar with the details of listing shares of miners (specifically what the costs / caveats / issues are of being listed).

1. Are there additional costs associated with this? (Listing fees, mgmt fees, etc)
2. Are there any restrictions on shares? (Lockout timeframes, sale fees, who can buy/sell, etc)
3. How is EOL handled for the fund? (Yield < Power costs)
4. For a mining pool, how are hardware failures handled? (Direct dilution across the pool, specific person is SOL, share retirement, etc)

Sorry if these are elementary questions. I have experience with stock options (employee and "general"), RSUs, stocks, bonds, etc, but have never worked with something like this in the bitcoin space, and don't feel informed enough about it to vote "+1" or "-1".

Thoughts?

Hey guys,

1. I have offered to waive the listing fee for you guys, and there are no management fees.
2. None.
3. That is no different than how it is handled currently.
4. Also, same answer as how it is handled now.

BitFunder is just a means to be able to account for, and trade your shares.

Hope this helps Smiley

Hi Everyone,

Just a quick reminder to everyone; please enable 2-factor authentication at bitfunder. There have been reports of people having lost shares due to some cross-browser script. A fix has already been applied by Bitfunder to prevent this but still. Without 2FA you can only buy and sell shares but not transfer them to another user. This is for your own protection. This incident happened some time ago already but apparently some sites have news articles about it now.

Cheers!

We have even added some additional anti-cross-site scripting to help protect everyone from this, as well as a few other things and accidental resubmits.
I still advise everyone to enable 2-factor.

Cheers,
Ukyo
360  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BitFunder.com has been hacked and IT IS BitFunder's fault on: July 08, 2013, 10:13:16 PM
Am I the only one finding your excuse for not refunding victims here a little disingenuous?

The 'htemp' hack has been documented by many people, and the root cause was a clear defect in your security model.  But you won't own up to the failure because somebody might pretend to be hacked?  You have a clear trail for anyone who had funds transferred to the 'htemp' account.

I don't see how you can justify not compensating victims in this case.  Considering the huge fees you are collecting on trades you should take a day's income and make your mistake right for the victims.  If you want to require 2FA for compensation in the future, that is a different matter.

The issue was not from a cross-site post, but from a list of user/passwords that were used by an abuser.

There was a cross-site vulnerability which has now been fixed. (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=130117.msg2685210#msg2685210)

The users effected by 'htemp' and 2 other user accounts had their accounts directly accessed by a 3rd party on first attempt who were testing a user/pass list which looks to be stolen from another site.

There was only 2 reported incidents of any account hacking via cross-site scripting, which were indeed credited.
Since the 2-factor requirement for transfers have been in place, there have been no further reports of abuse.

I suggest using a different e-mail/password combination on different bitcoin based sites out there, as you never know who else out there get's hacked and they never tell you.

Our system logged a botnet of over 5,000 account attempts one after another. The majority of the matching ones had 2-factor enabled which stopped their account loss.
Those known users were already contacted weeks ago to let them know of the situation and their vulnerability and that the should change that password combination on other sites.
