Great, just great!!  Cool

So payments in all bitcoinshops with Gulden with the browser plugin and/or https://nocks.co/ and payment in Euroshops with Gulden via the https://nocks.co/pay website. Am i correct?

You can pay an IBAN using your Gulden or BTC. In the near future we're adding some other cool features that will make instant-payments in EUR-accepting shops possible through existing payment methods most, if not all, webshops use.

For now, this will have to do Wink

That was quick!! Was going to donate .4 btc today. This android wallet is the most exciting update for me.
What is the feedback with the new iOS wallet, has anyone from the community tested it at a bitcoin merchant?
@Buerra is development still being done on Nocks or is all the focus on the mobile wallets?
Mobile wallet dev work is still being done by dev team, nocks are just acting as the "publisher" so that we can submit to Apple through an actual company.
Nocks team is still free to work on all their own projects (which I believe they still have many of and are working hard on), mobile wallets not interfering much with that, though the Nocks guys are of course assisting us in various ways with testing etc. as well Smiley

We're helping out with the mobile wallets, but we're definitely still developing Nocks. This first part of our roll-out has a lot of 'wires' that we need to connect. Most of them are compliancy and legal, technical part is being worked on very hard and we're getting very close to completing that. It all depends on how fast we can get all the needed approvals from third parties to go live with this new update. We're getting close to our own set deadline, I'm still confident we can meet that date.

Funded with 2 packages although it got over the 8 minutes confirmation time and i do not know if you guys received it, this is the address i send it to , 3A8yWMA5REAMTiNHTujEaJrG5eFvGfZiyJ

Funds were received, but the order timed out (no broadcast communicated from the BTC network within 10 minutes), so the order wasn't processed and communicated further to Rijk.

From where/what wallet did you send the Bitcoin?

We can refund you so you can redo the payment if you want to. PM me your BTC address so we can refund it. Sorry for the inconvenience!

Happy new year all!

Some great developments for Gulden the last year and i'm sure 2016 will be the year to get more into mainstream adoption!

Some questions about the funding of the Gulden app for Android:
The IOS app is already in place and "ready" but you need funding for the android version, Why? and why 3btc? is someone else building it?
3btc is "allot" of money to fund and im willing to donate if there is more info about where the money goes.

Thanks

What Gulden needs is a investor/investment like digibyte managed to get, worth 250 000 greenback's. That is 581 bitcoins at todays prices. 3 btc is a drop in the ocean if you look at it that way but the team might need to look at getting big Dutch investors involved to help push this along.

Happy New Year to you all!

Or simply 11 people that want to ante up .2 BTC for 50.000 NLG Wink

Still, I find the number of NLG for sale on Bittrex quite large, 13,3m.... Is there any historical data on this?
4,5 percent of the total available coin supply. How's that a lot?

That's right, 4,5% is not that much, especially in this stage of development.

Does anybody have the URL of the site where all kinds of charts on NLG are kept? It's not in the OP. I remember there was also a chart on the total number of coins on Bittrex.

Do you mean nlgstats.nl?

Just keep in mind that when searching on Google for "Guldencoin", the Bitcointalk forum is the first choice out of 375,000 returns. When searching for just "Gulden" Bitcointalk is the ninth choice and still on the first page. Searching for "Dutch Crypto"? Number six. Just saying...

You know how many people search for 'Dutch crypto' on Google? Nobody. 0.
You know how many people search for Guldencoin on Google? Zero people.

Start thinking like a user that doesn't want to be a part of this 'Bitcoin' forum where trolls flourish like locust and where people are stuck on a level that actually explains why scams make people money and why Gulden suffered an attack. If you want to be a part of a project that is actually making something that anyone can and would want to use. Then you're in the right place. If you want to whine about silly stuff, plenty of other places you can go for that.

Or.. Or you could actually build the place where all of the people that have an actual problem with the forum(s) and build one you like and want to grow. If you don't want to do that last part either. Then there's no point in bringing up the matter and if you do, you're really just here to be a moron.

It's surprising that this coin afloat despite the huge premine**.

Apparently a lot Dutchmen remember the good old Nederlandse gulden (officially until 1999) and do not know what crypto currency must be transparent and honest  Wink

Or, despite the huge premine and still afloat, this says something about Gulden in general...  Wink

Ok, how about Electronic Gulden? it is also a coin from the same developers?
But it looks like a clone with the same name and same premine  Cool

Just curious who was born the first Smiley

So I guess the kids are still running around freely on this forum Cheesy
354  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NLG] [GULDEN] Gulden.com — vimeo.com/gulden/gulden-for-ios on: December 13, 2015, 10:21:44 AM
The iOS wallet allowing payment at all bitcoin merchants will go a long way to convincing people to hold at least some NLG to use in the future. Great move towards easier adoption but I want to see the wallet released officially first.

I also can't imagine we will have to wait long for the next Nocks update on the heels of this as it's been 4 months in the making. Aug 20th was last development update.

Yeah, we're working hard baby! I don't think most of the people here would realize the importance of what we're building and the possibilities this brings for Gulden. Anyway, hopefully we'll open up a whole new line of thinking and options for all users.

It has taken 4 months so far, but that's nothing in comparison to other companies with thousands or even millions in resources and a lot more time on their hands. Everything is still being built in our spare-time. But nonetheless it's getting done, something people with those resources can't even say Cheesy

So it's taking a lot of time and work and I've been meeting up with people cross-country personally to talk to them and to increase the reach and network of Nocks. It will all be revealed in due time. In due time Grin

Just to put things in a little perspective on why I keep saying that the forum isn't the most important outlet. Just based off of the impressions we get on Twitter @nocksapp. That kind of exposure is far more valuable in my opinion. These are organic results (no Twitter Ads have been live yet).

112691 impressions over the course of 28 days.

Edit: and that spike in views came from the news-pieces I posted about Nocks B.V. being live and the blog posts I posted to release that news.

Slack is not a replacement for a forum as I cant browse the discussions taking place. Lots of "guest" users read the forums that don't worry about registering but want to see what is being discussed.

Great Point.

Nobody said it was a replacement did they? There's not one platform that will be a cure-all and nobody said there won't be any updates coming to the forums either. It's multi-platform, the forums just have to share the spotlight with all of the other places that people are reached. 90% (probably more) of the entire user-base will never read or sign-up on the forums anyway. It plays such a small part in all of this.

Indeed, indeed, indeed.
358  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NLG] [GULDEN] Gulden.com — Coming early 2016: Prime on: December 04, 2015, 01:55:18 PM
Gulden has dropped position from the low 40s to mid 50s on coinmarketcap. Other coins have performed better in price but not in real value as Gulden has added more development where other  coins have done nothing.
This can only be attributed to a loss in community. Slack is not a replacement for a forum as I cant browse the discussions taking place. Lots of "guest" users read the forums that don't worry about registering but want to see what is being discussed.

I think that is oversimplifying a bit, to name a few factors I can think of and by no means an exhaustive list:
1) We had an unfortunate (albeit temporary) setback with the iOS wallet and Apple - some investors will be waiting to see the end result here before they commit further, if iOS was important to them.
2) We then had, as you will know, a huge prolonged public fight (over an embarrassingly silly thing) including a reckless and large sell wall and some crazy pump action, this sort of thing does not inspire confidence and it will take some time for the damage of this to be reversed.
3) We then suffered an attack, which while we responded quickly to it is again going to leave some people somewhat demoralised for now.
4) Due to the above our Bittrex wallet was offline for a few days, which again will make traders nervous for a while until they return, especially the cautious ones who aren't following closely what actually goes on with the coin.
5) This coincides also with a slightly 'dry' period for releases/news - which will soon come to an end but is unfortunately timed with all the other things above and also as the dev team had to concentrate on the attack our latest release has been delayed a bit.
6) Then BTC is on the up which makes some people want to hold BTC rather and/or potentially cash out
7) Finally it is the end of the year, which means that people will be spending money on gifts for their loved ones, holidays, and other things, meaning less money to speculate on NLG with.

All of these things and more will be combining right now, and have left everyone a bit tired and demoralised, yet despite that the price actually has held relatively steady. This is actually a good thing.
Over time more news will roll in, great new releases will come out, the forum drama and attacks will become a distant memory, we will enter the new with a renewed energy and carry on forward.

The high BTC price also makes it much easier for coins with very high supply to 'manipulate' there 'market cap' on coinmarketcap - coinmarketcap remains in my opinion one of the absolutely worst indicators to compare currencies based on.

Regarding slack I don't see anyone claiming it is a replacement for forums, they are different, yes they compete to an extent (they are both communication tools) but they do not have a 100% overlap.
Slack is real time, which allows for faster communication, it allows for better bonding, it is a much better place to actually get to know people, form bonds, create friends or partnerships. You will find people casually talking about stuff on Slack that you would never see come up on a forum. It is as a result also a great incubator for ideas and projects and for spontaneous teams to form for these projects. The realtime nature causes people to be themselves and more honest because there is less time to think about replies. People can get instant help. etc. etc.
At the same time forums are also great, they allow much more thought and much slower communication, so they are a good place to have discussions that require lots of thought, they are also a great place for news to go, where people who only check by occasionally can catch up with goings on. To have the sort of discussion that takes place on slack take place on a forum actually undermines the usefulness of a forum, we have over 14k messages in a single week on slack. Imagine coming once a month to check up on a forum and there are 50k messages, where to even begin? (Yes the topics help to an extent but not entirely)

In short they both serve a purpose, at the end of the day people will use what they are comfortable with, and nobody can force them not too, we cannot force people onto the forums just so that people who only read forums do not feel left out, just as we are not forcing anyone onto Slack.
For now there has been a large swing to Slack as clearly it is what people currently prefer (and also because it is new), but I am sure over time and as the project grows, you will see the forums also picking up again, the two will work together to form a better synergy than either can provide alone. And hopefully other mediums like Reddit/Facebook and whatnot will also play a role.

Malcolm hit the nail on the head right here.

Just sayin' Grin

It's about damn time Buerra. Feels like years since the last update for Nocks.

I feel that everything longer than a week feels like years to you Wink. But all good, we've been working hard and hit some road blocks along the way. It's not been easy to achieve the next update, but we're powering through.

When will this be announced and I will make sure I come to check?

We're only a few steps away, but I would just recommend you follow us/or bookmark the links to Medium, Twitter, Facebook, index.co or LinkedIn to catch the latest updates from now on. We're not using the forums as our main outlet, but the news will hit here as well of course:
