341  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: March 03, 2024, 10:08:10 PM
The mistake Manchester United made, was not to use the same tactics(counterattack and counter-defense) Chelsea used against Manchester City. Ten Hag would have used such tactics against Manchester City because that's the only way to hold them to a draw match.

Manchester City is not a team to play a defense game against or come out to attack without being strategically aggressive towards them.

Manchester City are desperate and determined to win all their tough matches for this month. I just hope Liverpool or Arsenal will be able to stand them to a draw because they don't want to lose or draw any of their remaining premier league matches

Rashford scored a wonderful goal at the beginning of the match, roughly around 7 minutes in. As I watched it live, I enjoyed that goal because I didn’t expect it to come. The confidence he displayed to score that goal was absolutely sensational. I never thought he would take the shot from outside the 18-yard box, but because he had his target in sight, he was able to meet it with confidence.

Looking at everything, Rashford is one of the oldest and most senior players at the club in Manchester United right now. Although he plays as a forward, he has been with Manchester United for around 8 years. During his time there, he has scored 128 goals in 391 matches since his first-team debut. Unfortunately, I didn’t get to enjoy the Manchester United game because of that first goal around 7 to 8 minutes into the first half. They were focused more on protecting their home than pushing for more goals, and it ended badly for them.

Around 55 minutes into the second half, Foden was able to score in a similar way to Rashford, from outside the 18-yard box, cancelling the lead Manchester United had. Foden scored for Manchester City a second time, and just when we thought the game was already wrapping up and there wouldn’t necessarily be more goals, Holland was there, hungry for goals. He ended up pushing the ball straight into the net, resulting in three goals for Manchester City.
342  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Reps summon Binance boss over alleged terrorism financing, others on: March 03, 2024, 05:53:04 PM
Well, we know the present government is known for leaking confidential documents, and based on what Mr. Onanuga stated in this piece, it is clear that the FG is attempting to fine Binance, but the issue here is the actual amount and when they want to file it. "Nothing has been finalised yet", but trending reports contain an atom of truth.

Well, I think, for a start, the recent action regarding Binance is a good approach by the administration. Issuing a 7-day ultimatum to the management of Binance Holdings to appear before the committee was another positive move. Today is already the 3rd of March, and by tomorrow, the ultimatum will expire. The truth of the matter is, at this point in time, the government needs to address tax collection, which is crucial, and also regulate the activities of some of these online exchanges. Personally, I believe that’s what’s necessary.

However, it’s evident that the government has only recently begun to address this issue, with talks of summoning the management and seeking accountability from online exchange platforms. What I expect from the Federal Government right now is to refrain from playing politics around the Binance issue. While it’s essential for the government to benefit from the volume of transactions on the platform, it should also focus on regulating the activities of the exchange platforms responsibly. Asking for taxes is a common practice worldwide, including in the United States. Therefore, the government’s failure to do so earlier indicates a lack of proactiveness.

It’s crucial for the government to keep politics out of this matter and focus on the real issues. They should regulate exchange platform activities responsibly and ensure ease of doing business for users in Nigeria. Citizens should not feel restricted in their online activities. The government should create an enabling environment for both companies and citizens. It’s about the welfare of the people, and nobody should be compelled to operate in an environment they’re unhappy with. Therefore, I expect the government to prioritize the citizens’ interests and create a conducive environment for all.
343  Economy / Economics / Re: Saving don't make wealth on: March 03, 2024, 02:03:33 PM
Savings and investments are both important, and in my own understanding they're supposed to play different roles in a person's income, what is not good economically is spending all your income as they enter. The best thing is for a person to have a budget and determine what goes where, how many percentage for investment, savings and basic expenditures, with this maths the person will not spend on unbudgeted items , except in an emergency.

I know that managing our outflows and inflows, as well as controlling our budget expenditures with our income, will greatly benefit our financial capacities and life as an entirety . However, personally, I feel that it’s one of the most difficult tasks to undertake. It’s not easy, especially if you live in a country where you face numerous unforeseen circumstances, and the money you earn barely covers your needs, let alone your desires.

For example, many of us earn five, six, or even seven-figure incomes, yet we often find ourselves spending almost all of it. This happens because we’re constantly confronted with various challenges in our society, such as inflation, insecurity, an unstable market, economic downturns, and numerous human and environmental factors.

But Just as a farmer diligently tends to different crops in the field to ensure a successful harvest, individuals should nurture their finances through saving and investment. Savings can be likened to the soil, providing security and a foundation for growth, while investments are the seedlings that hold the potential for maximum growth. On the other hand, expenditures act as parasites when not managed properly, affecting both savings and investments.

As financial managers or individuals seeking to navigate today’s economic reality, we must adopt the mindset of a farmer protecting their seeds, taking all necessary measures to prevent parasites from infesting them.
344  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you had this gambling experience? on: March 02, 2024, 11:52:50 PM
I’ve always had considerable interest in all the games I’ve ever placed a bet on. Why put money to bet on games I have no interest in? I’m worried enough about the ones I’ve got interest in and hoping for a positive outcome.
But I’ve also known people who place random bets with small amounts. They’ve also had wins and losses as well.
Perhaps some individuals who gamble could have some extra money that they could literally play around with. It’s wholly dependent on the individual and how he/she chooses to gamble.

The OP is stating the situation when he bets on a game without putting much effort, he will actually win. But whenever he puts too much thinking about his games, he couldn't get the results that he wanted. Well, in this case, it is all just a coincidence. I guess, the OP is just feeling that the situation is against him. But it is all in his mind.

We tend to overthink things and try to correlate the situation with some beliefs and convinced ourselves something is affecting our games for no reason at all.

This is a funny discussion, but it’s also very realistic. I think our superstitions begin to form in our lives when we start to attribute meaning to events gradually. This fixation causes us to interpret occurrences in a certain way instead of keeping our minds open to different possibilities and properly analyzing information.

Well, dude, it doesn’t matter. The gambling sites don’t know how you feel at any given time. Your decisions are your own, and they won’t care whether you win or lose. If you feel that overthinking things helps you make better decisions, then it might be because you believe it does. However, by doing so, you might be ignoring your instincts, which can also play a role in gambling, as I’ve learned from experience. Instincts often come from the information you have about what you’re gambling on.

But as to whether overthinking things leads to losing, I don’t think that’s necessarily true. Gambling is all about chances, and most of the time, it’s a 50/50 or 60/40 situation. You can’t be sure if you’ll win or lose. You’re just making decisions based on the information available to you.
345  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: March 02, 2024, 11:42:20 PM
Personally I think Chelsea's main problem is their management. And if you notice, Chelsea's misery started after the change of management. The message should not only blame the coach. We will not see the good condition of Chelsea if the internal conflict of their management is not resolved.

In the management of Chelsea, I don’t want to believe that the problem solely lies with Pochettino alone, but I also want to believe that the management has a role to play. This might be the reason why they have not been performing as expected this season. I feel they need to do more, especially after tonight’s match, where even Real Madrid had to settle for a draw with Valencia, just like Chelsea had to settle for a draw in the West London derby.

I see Chelsea struggling to meet expectations, although they have performed well in the Carabao Cup. They reached the final, but unfortunately couldn’t win, as Liverpool, the Reds, have been the winning champions of the Carabao Cup for a while now. This demonstrates their capability, although they fell short.

In my opinion, what the management needs to do is to pull themselves together, work as a team, support the manager, Pochettino, in his role, and ensure that everyone, including the assistant coach, works collaboratively. This will make the club more effective.

Quote
I don't want to go into the argument that Thomas Tuchel is a bad coach or a good coach. But Thomas Tuchel was successful with Chelsea. Thomas Tuchel helped Chelsea win the Champions League despite being a mediocre team. I don't understand why Chelsea management sacked such a successful coach.

Well, the truth is, working as the Chelsea manager comes with a lot of responsibilities. For instance, tonight, we saw Chelsea fans putting pressure on Pochettino due to the outcome of the match. This makes it even more important for the management to support the manager during times like these. I believe it is crucial for the management to come together and analyze why things are not working properly. Finding solutions collaboratively and providing support to the coach will be essential. So, I feel like this is the direction they should take.
346  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: March 02, 2024, 11:25:59 PM
As I said before we cannot judge Real Madrid based on this match because there is a possibility that they will '.throw away the match', a team can do it when they are in a safe position without competitors so they only focus on important matches. This week Real Madrid will play in the Champions League so maybe this is the reason they don't play extra because they want to build up their stamina and avoid injury. We can see that in the last 5 matches in La Liga, Real Madrid have drawn 3 times and I'm sure this is not a coincidence they were just playing around, but if Girona and Barcelona are only one point behind then Real Madrid will not do this because it's clear it's risky.

I least expected that this game will end up a draw and not a straight win by the Real Madrid club. After I had watched the match to the fullest, I went on to look at the match fixturings by both teams, and it showed Real Madrid's prowess over Valencia including the last one which was 5 over 1 goal won by Real Madrid. Because of this, Girona has move some points closer to them as the second position club to 7 points instead of the 9 points expected by the Real Madrid if they had won.
347  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: My Response to a Foreigner on Expatriates: (Nigerian Graaduates are not Valued) on: March 02, 2024, 11:16:58 PM
So now make we clap for you abi wetin. Before we start to shout racism, remember say Dangote refinery employed more Indians than Nigerians. Your rant on linkedin is not going to change government policies, I’ve never seen Nigerian policy makers made decisions from opinions shared on social media. The man shared his honest opinion and you did the same. I don’t believe it is about race, companies will do what they think is in their best interest and governments do what they believe is in the best interest of the nation. Company way nor want employ we people go pay the fine.

It’s quite surprising to me whenever people talk about expatriates and the way they are treated, especially in companies. I don’t quite understand the perspective they’re coming from, but I’ve seen videos every day on social media and heard stories of how they’ve been maltreated by foreigners working for companies in the country. There are numerous complaints and incidents of project managers or supervisors mistreating laborers, with the unfortunate trend being that the project managers are often foreigners, while the laborers are citizens of the country.

I don’t support any of these actions. It’s wrong for anyone, whether inside or outside the country, to bully workers simply because of their race. The company neglecting such behavior in the name of retaining foreign workers because they supposedly provide better results is unacceptable.

To company owners, I believe this is the wrong approach. Maintaining equality in the treatment of all workers, especially in companies with diverse workforces, should be a priority. For instance, in my company, it would be a standing order that nobody is allowed to mistreat others based on differences in nationality or language.

However, it’s important for people to understand that private companies operate differently from public ones. The main difference lies in how they are governed and managed. Public entities are overseen by the government, while private institutions often prioritize merit and results based on the experiences gained abroad. That’s why you might find foreigners in top management positions in some companies—they bring expertise and insights from their own countries to enhance project outcomes.

Unfortunately, many of our people tend to react negatively without giving employers the opportunity to provide context or express themselves. Instead, they rush to judge based on social media posts.
348  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: WHY ARE NIGERIANS UNHAPPY on: March 02, 2024, 10:21:54 PM
This question conveys a lot of opinions. Whilst some people would blame it on the state of the economy or the bad leadership or some might go as far as saying the political juggernauts at the top are responsible for the state of the nation, I would personally like to see this situation is emanating in a chronic manner as a result of the overconsumption of other people’s lives. This , I’d like to say is the root reason because if everyone can learn to overlook how classy and prosperous others are and instead focus on what you have and strife to achieve your own goals instead of trying to live or mimic someone’s lifestyle, I believe things are practically going to get better .:: for me, happiness is a choice and how you chose to achieve it depends on what happiness truly means to you

I agree with your assertions on these issues, especially regarding deriving happiness from oneself rather than necessarily from the achievements of others around. If we observe the current state of life, especially for Generation Z, it seems like everyone is in a sprint race, aiming to outpace one another in a seemingly competitive world. Unfortunately, this has led many young people astray, taking directions that land them in trouble, perhaps by accumulating too much debt in pursuit of a lifestyle that isn’t theirs or trying to keep up with peers rather than focusing on personal growth. Many young people solely focus on outward appearances or what others think of them.

But, as the saying goes, there is no smoke without fire. In the case of Nigeria, it’s evident that many are facing economic crises. Whether we acknowledge it or not, the truth is that the economy is struggling, and people are trying to adjust their livelihoods. Some find it difficult to adapt as the economy declines. Consequently, we see a society where people struggle to maintain a particular standard of living, yet find it challenging due to being accustomed to the benefits of a better economy in the past. The same applies to the youth.

My advice to anyone out there is to take a step back and assess reality. They must readjust themselves to face the truth.  The truth of the matter is, nobody is concerned about your circumstances and everyone is burdened by the current economic situation. Whether you used to drive a car or now use public transport, whether you had a thriving business or are just starting one, it’s essential to adapt to the present reality. Find ways to make yourself happy and contribute positively.

If you previously accommodated many guests at home, consider reducing it. If you were generous with money, reassess your giving in light of the current situation. If you used to spend extravagantly on unnecessary things, reconsider those expenses. It’s crucial to live within your means and prioritize essential expenses. Thereby exploring opportunities to increase your income.

It’s time to adjust to the current economic conditions and make necessary changes for sustainable living. Remember, adapting is key to surviving and thriving in challenging times.
349  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: Don't allow politicians to use you on: March 01, 2024, 10:31:39 PM
Dis one don teach people lesson OP, I no tink say people go allow such government into power again because many people feel say d president na person wey no how youths dey use decentralized currency to improve d economy but he turned against decentralized exchange as d problem of d country economy.

Well, I believe say u no how those our Naija politicians use to enter power without people voting for dem, dat is why u see some of dem dey use people anyhow like say d position will b forever and, I no say dis government will not succeed to bring d youths down because Naija youths have gone beyond were  all those old politicians can bring dem down for their selfish interest.

Firstly, I believe this is a wake-up call to President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu regarding the economy of the country and other aspects of life for the average Nigerian. With a distinctive certificate in economics and having played a significant role in building the legal framework we have today, many people saw Tinubu as the economic development maestro, expecting that his government would address the economic challenges and hardships facing the people today. I know it's a long-term endeavor, and I acknowledge that many people in past governments and conferences have immensely contributed to the development and shaping of our nation.

Now, the most surprising part is seeing that the government is not even able to properly monitor or regulate activities going on in the Binance P2P exchange. This also implies that they have not been able to generate taxes and revenues from these online platforms for exchange, which is quite surprising. However, for a country as significant as Nigeria, we expect our leaders to exercise due diligence and prioritize the interests of the state, ensuring that any contracts or agreements made, whether public or private partnerships, protect the interest of the state before anything else.

Only God knows exactly what we have lost in these exchanges for a long time. Meanwhile, I think this is a good approach to ensure that they properly monitor the system again, especially since large amounts of money are involved, as stipulated in the video from the beginning.
350  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: February 29, 2024, 11:44:36 PM
Rather difficult to explain what exactly happened but in my opinion this is a kind of trend that happened because previously almost all teams in Laliga experienced it except Real Madrid, we know Barcelona experienced it last month but now their game is starting to improve well maybe Atletico Madrid is in this situation. Currently Atletico Madrid will focus on the match in La Liga because they will maintain a position in the top 4 moreover they are not in a safe position and Athletic Club is under those who can catch up anytime only 3 points adrift. Now the question is whether Atletico Madrid can survive in the top 4 before the end of the season? I mean if their performance does not improve in the near future they will lose that place.

Well, Athletic Club has continuously shown that they have the strength and deliverance more than Atletico Madrid does. Judging from their last five matches played together, at least three of them were won by Athletic Club, leaving only two aside. The last time Athletic Club faced Atletico Madrid was at home in their stadium. Despite this, Athletic Club was able to secure a victory with a 1-0 advantage. Now that they have returned to their home ground, Athletic Club has shown the capacity to understand what it means to play at home. With that, they defeated Atletico Madrid with a sweet-sounding 3-0 win, resulting in an aggregate score of 4-0 in the Copa del Rey competition.
351  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Don’t play gambling with drugs or in half sleep on: February 29, 2024, 11:31:00 PM
This is completely evil and playing even while drinking alcohol is unwise. After all, it comes down to money and our mind must be completely clear. By drinking even a glass of beer we reduce our EB. Of course, a lot of players come here to relax, but I never allowed myself to even make the minimum bet while drunk. If someone hopes to win constantly this way, it's just ridiculous. Of course, everyone decides for themselves what to do and how to relax, but I am absolutely sure that I will never do something like that.

Even though it sounds funny, it's a serious matter. How can you allow yourself to be drunk and at the same time gamble, using your hard-earned money for it? It's kind of surprising for anybody to resort to that, especially when you know that you might lose in the process, unless it's an inspiration you get separately that we don't know. When you combine drinking with gambling, it also goes to show that you haven't really been able to control certain aspects of life, especially regarding addiction. You can be addicted to substance abuse and, at the same time, be addicted to behavioral addictions like gambling. I would classify that as being careless and also see it as the most difficult thing to do in life. But well, I am not the one experiencing it, and I cannot judge. However, I can advise that one takes good care of oneself and tries as much as possible to avoid doing both at the same time. For me, it's absolutely unnecessary.

Quote
And the fact that OP’s friend was playing in the morning the next day is complete nonsense, he is probably so addicted that they don’t think about anything other than that. Starting your day with this is not constructive and thoughtless. I still like to think a lot about the tactics of my game and bets, I get a lot of pleasure if they start to work.

You see, gambling is probably one of the last things I would attempt in the early morning when I wake up. I mean, I have other things on my list, like saying my prayers to God as a spiritual person, meditating, having my breakfast, and then going through my schedule for the day, which includes other extra activities that I have added to my time. After that, I'll check my checklist and my diary, then have my meals. Afterwards, I'll do some more creative things before considering anything like gambling. The same thing will happen later at night, gambling would not be something I would do before I sleep. I definitely prefer things like late-night reading and, as a spiritual person, I would also pray. But gambling at dawn and before I sleep would be a definite no-no for me, honestly.
352  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Nigeria's Economic Problems: Government Ban Cryptocurrency on: February 29, 2024, 11:17:38 PM
The main cause of the problem is because our government failed to make the country to be less relying on foreign products. We are importing goods more than necessary. In technology we lag behind and the foreign nations are innovating new products that we continue to import.

And the most devastating part of this is when I heard that most of our exports are being bought from us with the equivalent of naira, whereas those imports that we bring into the country are bought at the dollar rate. I think that was what I heard from one of these interviews I've been listening to about all these economic crises in the country, from a seasoned lawyer.

Now, I can't imagine if this is really true because what this means is, if we are taking out our exports and allowing those buying it from us to pay in naira equivalent, but then when we come to buy from them, they sell it to us in dollar equivalent, that means we are suppressing our currency. Because what that means is, there would be more demand for the local currency by these buyers that are coming into the country, which will only weaken the local currency.

Then, what do you expect about inflation when, at the end of the day, we buy those products in dollars? So, if we are importing and we are buying in dollars, what that means is there are a lot of people looking for that dollar currency, which will amount to them holding it. And that is why you find situations whereby even people who would not really need dollars are hunting for it, and they can easily get it from the BDCs.

Quote
Federal government needs to tackle the reasons we rely on importing goods. We need ways they can encourage and create a good environment of increasing productivity in Nigeria. Electricity is bad and has gotten worse again during this dry season as usual. They should start by providing constant electricity. Many companies left the country because of bad electricity. There is much more to discuss about this than Electricity.

Exactly, if the Federal Government aims to empower our local market, then we must also have stable electricity in the country. According to many scholars of the economy, it is said that MSMEs (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) contribute more than 40% of the revenue generated by the country's GDP, which is about $200 billion.

Now, imagine if we can digitize some of these MSMEs, it will boost our economy even more because the country will provide an ease of doing business to those business owners. But when faced with a situation where even basic electricity is not guaranteed, what can we expect of the economy of the country? It is definitely going to be a quagmire, as it is right now.

Quote
So the government are not solving the primary reasons but going for secondary reasons. They wanted to control the parallel market and which they have just achieved like the CBN rate. Exchanges and others are restricting people that have ads from selling if not following the rules of the CBN, making the CBN to be indirectly using the exchanges to control the P2P price. Naira has increased in price now, but things in the market are still expensive and not reducing in price at all.

Now, you can imagine the lack of priority in the government's policies or activities by attempting to ban P2P services in Binance and other cryptocurrency activities. It was alleged that over 20 billion worth of transactions moved through that window in Binance alone, and the country is not able to monitor these transactions. It's quite unfortunate, really.

I think we should be proud of what we are against, proud in the sense that the country should be able to properly regulate and monitor these activities to boost the economy further and make it easier for people to invest through these platforms. When you can easily access transactions, especially foreign exchange, it becomes easier to do business in those localities. Many more developed countries are properly regulating these exchanges, and it should be relatively easier for the government to control or regulate activities on these online platforms since we already have regulatory agencies like NIBSS responsible for this.
353  Economy / Economics / Re: World fight over resources don't live in country where is a lot natural resource on: February 29, 2024, 10:52:49 PM
Try to not live in country where is the a lot resources.
Even the food oil gas and other natural resources.
Becouse nations and group of people fight over this.
And If you stay there you will be in the middle of the power greed and corruption.
Very wealthy people want always reaources to control and you live there when countries fight over resources it's like you are innocent person wrong place wrong time.

If you was born into risky country just look around If there is resources and good feritile land and good resources like oil then grow up and Leave right to way becouse sooner or later If your country not strong and stable like Canada or USA you run into problems wars and corruptions.
Don't be victim always check your surroundings and escape best countries will be stable consumers but not producers

I can say that I am a living testimony to this fact. I call it a fact because that is what it is when you live in a country abundant in natural resources, especially if the country is underdeveloped or in the process of development. I'll give an example with my own country, Nigeria. In Nigeria, there is an abundance of crude oil, and because of that abundance, the government has heavily relied on crude oil exports, which has made our economy vulnerable to fluctuations in fuel pump prices and has deeply contributed to our economic downturn.

In Nigeria right now, amidst the economic and security crises, I can confidently say that Nigeria is one of those countries currently suffering at a worldwide scale. If you look at it clearly, all these issues stem from the natural resources endowed in our country. The government has decided to overly depend on these resources without looking for alternatives, even though we have alternative sources like agriculture.

Due to the discovery of crude oil in Nigeria, which was discovered in commercial quantities around 1956 in a village called Oloibiri in the Niger Delta region of the country, country has continuously relied on crude oil up to today. I can say that over 80% of our revenues, especially export earnings, come from oil revenues. This is why there is a lot of corruption among government officials, with everybody seeking to own an oil block or other for personal benefits, names which we don't have to mention.

Now, imagine if Nigeria were a developed country like the United States of America or the United Kingdom. Do you really think there would be that exploitation or corruption happening at such a high level? This corruption has caused a serious gap between the leaders and the followers, in the sense that the leaders do not really understand the economic hardships that the followers or the masses are experiencing. And even if they do, they don't care because all they are focused on is how they can secure their own bags without bringing a permanent or long-lasting solution to these problems.
354  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin was created to reform money and provide financial freedom on: February 29, 2024, 10:34:22 PM
We are also expected to adopt bitcoin and use it for our own financial benefit, this gives us the financial desires we want to have or see come through with the use of a digital network being made accessible to everyone for their privacy, its so what a pity as well seeing others not getting it right with the use of bitcoin, thinking otherwise on why it was created, those using it already knows what they stand to benefit from it which they are already seeing.

I personally believe that starting Bitcoin has been one of the greatest milestones in my financial journey. Bitcoin has granted me the financial freedom, profit, and privacy that I yearn for as a human being.

Another remarkable aspect of Bitcoin is the confidence it instills in me. Unlike the uncertainties I faced in the fiat market, Bitcoin offers a sense of comfort. Its decentralized nature ensures that neither certain people nor governments can manipulate its value arbitrarily, providing a sense of security.

However, for those of us engaged with the Bitcoin community, there are currently rewarding opportunities, such as the ongoing bull run. Failing to capitalize on this favorable market trend may result in missed financial gains. As Bitcoin's value continues to soar, investing a substantial amount now could yield significant returns.

Nevertheless, I advise my friends to adopt a Dollar-Cost Averaging (DCA) approach rather than investing a lump sum. This strategy helps mitigate the risks associated with unforeseen market fluctuations, ensuring a more stable investment journey.
355  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Support, do not criticize. on: February 28, 2024, 11:59:55 PM
The truth is that, overcoming gambling addiction is an individual decision and those around can only support the individual to become better.

they leave without gambling for a while since it already having bad effects on them,  and also as a family instead of compounding the issues by criticizing the addict,  you can rather allow them to make up their mind to leave gambling and some times when you have seen that the gambler want to make a positive change,  all that you need to do is to give them all the mental support that they need instead of becoming harsh on them.

Overcoming gambling addictions is some kind of a hard job,  and since it is easy to become addicted but extremely hard to overcome the addictions at some point, they need all the help they can get to be able to beat the addictions eventually.

I appreciate your insights into this topic. It reflects your deep understanding and experience with addiction and addiction is a kind of illogical behavior or, as some people call it, a trauma that individuals engage in. It occurs when someone repeats a particular behavior multiple times until it becomes ingrained in their mind, making it difficult to let go. It then becomes a subconscious drive for them, compelling them to continue engaging in the activities they are addicted to, despite the negative consequences. This repetitive behavior can affect the brain, leading one to seek relaxation through these activities, even though they are aware of the harmful effects.

Addiction have oftentimes resulted to loss of control, where those involved in it find it challenging to resist the urge to return to their addictive behavior. Whether it involves substance abuse like drugs or behavioral addictions like gambling, firstly, you will need to make a solitary decision and intention to stop gambling. Then, seek support from friends and family who can advise you on the best ways to break those gambling habits. They can also assist you in creating distractions, which is one effective method to curb gambling urges. No one will even think that Manchester United will win Manchester City in the next game they are going to play, because Manchester City is way more strong in terms of squad and performance
I am not even thinking that Manchester United can even win Manchester City in their next match, the match won’t even end as a draw. I am giving Manchester City a straight win in the match. Manchester United are really inconsistent, we all saw how they played against Fulham, I never expected them to lose in the match, but they did. Manchester City is really fighting for the league, and I don’t think a club like Manchester United can stop them from getting three points. De Bruyne is back in the squad again, we all saw how both De Bruyne and Haaland played incredibly well in their FA match yesterday, I am sure they are going to destroy Manchester United also.

Guys, permit me to say Manchester City has been supercalifragilisticexpialidocious in their recent outcomes especially the match will watched this night I mean Haaland was the superstar and five star General of the Manchester City club today. Five star general because he was able to score a consistent five goals in an overall six over 2 goals that Manchester City won against Luton Town. That was absolutely amazing and words have failed me trying to express myself on how I felt tonight even though Manchester City was on my club.

In this is what it means to have a promising player a striker like Erling Haaland who knows best how to share a team up and ensure that everybody in joined their game whilst please over the opposition and tonight was not going to be this blooming without having efforts of Kevin De Bruyne. This is what it means for me to always appreciate players that never let that thing down and I appreciate manager's like Guardiola because they will trust which is possible to make you proud and give you goosebumps at periods that you expect to these and is not periods that you release expected it well one of those periods were quite expected but not as much as we got it tonight that was a great outing for Manchester City.

Well I have to mention that Manchester City will win over Manchester United in the next game and I can predict this match even bet on it for a win for Manchester City because those guys are on fire right now and lately Manchester United have been very unconsistent with their performance today they will do greatly well tomorrow they will underperformance as though they are not well trained so meeting with clubs like Manchester City is not going to be a pinch of cake for them unless we will wait and see what happens then.

You can't say Al Hilal is winning the games just because they are good players or because they have good managers because all other top teams in the Saudi League also have good financial situations and they can have buy good and expensive players for their teams.
Even Al Nassr has a much better player like Ronaldo in their team but they can't beat Al Hilal in this season.
That's why I think the main reason for Al Hilal to have good performance is mostly because of having a balanced team and better teamwork compared to the other teams.

This is a common misunderstanding in football. Having one or two strong players in a team of weak players does not guarantee excellence. In fact, having a well-rounded and cohesive team of standard, average, and good players is often more effective than relying solely on a star or celebrity player. As a leader or team manager, it's crucial to recruit players across all positions who can contribute to the team's balance and efficiency. Relying too heavily on one standout player can create dependency issues and hinder overall team performance. It's akin to having an "Iroko tree" among other crops, which can pose a general problem for some clubs.

This is a principle that I believe other managers can learn from managers like Ancelotti and Guardiola. These two managers have demonstrated proficiency in assembling cohesive teams, which has propelled them to success in their respective leagues.

The dilemma here is that later on, you may continue this practice and before he knows it, he's already too deep in his situation. So while you are still aware of your your actions, better go back to your personal rules. It is your choice so it doesn't matter if it is ethical or not. At the end of the day, it is your money at stake, so the responsibility is all yours.

You've provided excellent insight as a senior colleague. When it comes to gambling, there aren't any standard rules to follow. What matters most is finding an approach that aligns with your preferences and sticking to it, even if it means not changing course unless it leads to better outcomes. The primary goal of gambling is usually to turn a profit, whether you're in it for financial gain or entertainment. Even if it's for fun, it's still preferable to come out ahead rather than lose. So, whatever strategy you adopt, it's essential to remain committed and continually refine it to strengthen your position within the gambling community.

While I don't personally gamble much, I understand the value of consistency in any approach of life. Since there isn't a fixed roadmap in the gambling world, it allows for flexibility and the opportunity to establish your own rules, especially if they're effective for you or align with your beliefs. It's crucial to stand by what works for you.

So I brought this topic to let us know that in gambling, if you just play it as though you don't take it seriously whether you win or lose then you might surprisingly win an amount that will amaze you one day and it would look as if you're smart or you know how to predict the outcome of events and in most cases, when a gambler wins they doesn't really care much about their previous losses regardless of the amount they won.

So I just felt like making some predictions in sports betting today and the events was about 8 matches, and it all played according to how I predicted them to go and I won the bet though I spent less than $1 just #1000 in my local currency to place the bet and i won close to $23 which is about #32000 in my local currency as well. Congratulations to me as i didn't expect this winning.

I believe this post is pertinent to addressing the question of why people gamble for fun and continue to invest money in gambling. As I tried to explain previously, whether one gambles for entertainment or not, those with financial means often engage in gambling as a recreational activity. They use their hard-earned money without significant concern, even though it may seem like a substantial amount to others.

This perspective is especially applicable to wealthy individuals, as those people will go to great lengths to seek pleasure and maintain happiness. However, being rich also entails various pressures, commitments, and sacrifices. Not everyone can handle the responsibility of wealth, particularly the challenge of sustaining it. Therefore, some individuals may seek unconventional means, such as gambling, to alleviate stress and derive pleasure. While losing may not pose a significant issue, winning can provide an additional boost. In essence, it aligns with the sentiments expressed by the OP.

As it stands now, phone are used to make cool money online, most persons has pHones but they don't know how to make money with it, most persons focus purely in social media, thereby wasting their time and resources in the form of data and airtime,
While some sit at the comfort of their house and make real cash online with their phones,
Making money with your phone is directly making you CEO of Ur own, you do everything at your own pace and time, no rushing you and no extras pressure.

To begin with, I don't believe that Social media is a complete waste of time and you can either decide to take advantage of it or use it wastefully. As a matter of fact, there is no any aspect of technology that cannot be wasted or taken advantaged of. For instance, people have used social media as their fortune in their financial journey using it to make money and I am a testimony of that. I have been a social media manager and have managed Instagram and Facebook pages with large number of followers. I understand what it means to manage information and how it feels to influence the emotions of the prospects and leads as well as crisis management.

So when I log in to those social media platforms, I visit with the intention of managing those pages which at the end of the month , I am paid for.

It's not really as easily said that people sit at the comfort of their homes and make money, but people who do that are very disciplined and hardworking as working from home is not an easy thing to do. Unlike going to the office, working at home requires more discipline to meet up with deadlines.

Ultimately, there are a lot of opportunities that people need to explore in the internet and it is a global village full of opportunities for people ready to take advantage of them.
