341  Economy / Securities / Re: [Investment fund] Gamma Bitcoin Fund [Closing] on: May 28, 2013, 08:56:02 AM
Does anyone have contacts at Bitcoin Magazine? It would be really cool to see an article about the successful closing of GBF and an interview with Ludvig...
That might be a bit more then I deserve but I am happy to give an interview if there's interest.

10557.516 BTC has been paid out in total.

For anyone else who was confused like me, and also for clarity, I believe that this is the total payout of the fund since it announced it was closing, including the partial payouts received in November, February and March. As a result, if you're using the investor list to work out the fraction of this number you'll be getting, the most recent payout will be about 80% of the figure you calculate.

Regardless, thanks DeaDTerra. Even though I joined the fund at about the worst time possible, I still made a net profit of a few coins. It feels like a lot more than that, however, as I'd written these coins off as lost. Thanks again for being as transparent as you have been about the whole process.
This is indeed the case, I added all the payout to get to total paid Smiley
8450 Bitcoins was paid in the latest payment.

It sounds like I should be concerned at this point that I've seen no final-payout transactions on my Gamma address, DeadTerra? I received the two partial payouts in February and March without a problem...

Same here so my guess/hope is they are still going out.  Wink
There are currently some unconfirmed that do not show up in blockchain.info,
Please be patient they have been sent out but have yet to reach your node.

10557.516 BTC has been paid out in total.
This is 46.3% above the closing value of the fund.
According to my calculations most people should have made a profit around 5-15% in BTC depending when you got into the fund and up to 60 times your USD investment (also dependent on when you invested).
All in all, I would like to say that this was a happy story Smiley
Thank you all for the trust,
Thank you for understanding all the delays,
Thank you for forgiving my mistakes and letting me learn,
Thank you for knowledge and experience you have given me.

Overall this has been a great journey for me, I have learnt a lot and gotten to know a lot of people, of which some I am now close friends with.
Even though this chapter of my Bitcoin journey is over, a next one begins.
On the 7th of June I will be going over to 100% Bitcoin as the school term finishes.
I have already gotten some work offers but if you have some cool project you want to share, or some cool projects you think I could help with then please contact me!

Best Regards
Ludvig

346  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: May 27, 2013, 04:02:16 PM
isnt asicminer in china? how will this affect the company? or even more affect us the share holders?
Risk: Regulation by chinese authorities.
Opportunity: Promising huge market... Especially, if mining (and selling ASIC hardware) is not so attractive in the future, AM still has huge investment opportunities in a potentially huge market.
Who knows? Maybe in 5 years Friedcat will sell Bitcoin-ATMs in China instead of Blockerupters.

how possible is it that chinese authority will regulate or even illegalize bitcoin at all ?

since deadterra is selling of more than 2000 shares, i'm a little afraid that he might have some insider information to that and now takes profit before shareprice is going down ...

2000 out of 18,000.  I would be constantly selling too..

You aren't grasping how a passthrough works. The great majority of shares in G.ASICMINER are already "sold", DT just holds onto the direct shares on behalf of the people who bought them.
To clarify,
People deposit/withdraw the shares back and forth into the PT.
I do not sell nor buy any shares for other then personal ownership.
As you can move shares back and forth there is no need to introduce/sell new shares to expand the PT share base.
The reason why I sold roughly 5000 Shares over the last couple of months is due to that I am liquidating the Gamma Bitcoin Funds position to make payouts to the investors before closing the fund.
I did not sell because I had some inside info or such, in fact I am quite bullish on AM.

Someone definitely wants to plummet the price on btc-tc  Shocked

I don't think so...  What could be happening:

BTC/USD is moving in a positive direction, so people may be cashing out some... I cashed out some myself to pay some bills.

There are several large holders that both in public and private, are liquidating some of their holdings having seen ASCIMINER reach more of a "fair value".  Some people would probably sell PT shares to buy direct shares.  Myself and others prefer direct shares for a majority of their holdings, I keep maybe 10% in several PT's for liquidity and day trading.

Other people often try to buy before the DIV, get it, and sell after... and then have 6 days to mess around... I have noticed this trend before... although lately with crazy high dividends the buying tendency outpaced the buy, get div, sell crowd.

Still some others have hinted that they are indeed trying to keep the price "stable" to avoid a boom and crash.  I doubt we will fall below 2.2 a share... and this 2.5 ask wall will probably be gone if next week's div appears to be as good as I hope it will be with USB sales.
Actually it is me that's causing all the price movement, sorry!
I am liquidating Gamma Bitcoin Funds position to pay back the investors Smiley
The market seem to be very resilient, I have moved over 2.5k shares in less then two days and it has almost not suppressed the price at all.

Don't take all the credit! https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=213729.msg2242801
Ofc other people are also selling.
I just said that the wall mentioned as mine.

Gave you the much needed trust!

So what can we expect with the fund going forward? When will we receive the next payout?

Did you get my email I sent last week about changing my payout address? Just want to confirm. Thanks for all the effort!
I am pretty sure I did,

ASICMINER hit 2BTC/share.
Excellent. I wonder how many shares we have left to sell off. DT must be busy at the conference now but I hope he is keeping an eye on the sales. Thanks guys!
We have roughly 2800 shares left,
I do keep track of the price but I do not want to loginto BF due to security reasons.
//DeaDTerrra
Cool, so we sold 1/4 of shares in 2 weeks. That is good. Yes best to wait until you are back home safely.

Mother of GOD:

Gamma fund is going to be nicely profitable in BTC, and a huge success relative to anything else.

I'm quite sure that had I personally managed the BTC I have in Gamma, I would have done a LOT WORSE.

Thank you, DT!

Agreed, DT didn't give up on us when GLBSE crashed.  He deserves the highest throne in Valhalla.
Thank you for trusting me and supporting me through thick and thin.
I have made som bad decisions and I have learnt a lot.
I am happy to say that we made it out a head in the end and that I will be able to talk away with only positive things to say about my experience and the people I have got to know Smiley
Thanks a lot guys!
If anyone has their ways around Stockholm, I would be more than happy to meet up Smiley

We have roughly 700 shares left to sell, then we will have a pay out of about 8000 BTC.
