GLP is a psyop.
343  Economy / Economics / Re: A less volatile cryptocurency, what would it take to regulate its own market? on: April 09, 2013, 05:58:34 PM
One way to create a less volatile currency would be to float the block reward according to hash rate. So as the value goes up it becomes more profitable to mine, more coins get produced and inflation should stabilize the rise. But you would need to determine a target hash rate for the network, and I don't think there is any other way to do this apart from pluck an arbitrary number out of the air and have it rise over time in accordance with Moore's Law.
344  Economy / Speculation / Re: $222 is the new $2.22 on: April 09, 2013, 05:29:21 PM
OK, but after that we will have to move on to $500 being the new $5.

346  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: A piece of Bitcoin history. Video card that found Block 210000 on: April 09, 2013, 04:32:37 PM
It would still be nice to see a pic of it. Plus, it would be good if you could highlight any unique distinguishing features, such as serial numbers, for future provenance.

A lot of work went into this glossary and I appreciate it. We need to spread this info. I'm working on a personal website about cryptocoins; I'd like to put these terms in a database and provide an alphabetical glossary there. Would that be okay?

Yes, that would be fine.

351  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin (or the love of Bitcoin) the root of all evil? on: April 09, 2013, 01:23:51 AM
Thanks for the link, but I still don't get it  Huh. What's the main point/s of the OP?

[EDIT]

Ah, I get it, you've taken a manuscript and replace the word 'money' with 'bitcoin'.

To be honest Elwar, I like the post, but I don't think I understand the point you're making.

359  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why cant I reply to any posts? on: April 07, 2013, 03:23:53 PM
Well thats annoying..

So i will have to search these forums for 5 hours and write 5 totally pointless threads, until I can ask for help? Rethink it..

I have a problem, i have setup Litecoin and got a pool(s) and worker(s) and running with CGMiner and it says it's working and stuff, but the websits of the pools doesnt update or show any progress.. like it hasnt even been running.. any fix?

If you look at the bitcointalk stats here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=stats you can see the newbie board is the second most active on this forum. Create a post in the newbie board with the title 'Help CGMiner not updating' and I'm sure someone will help you solve your problem.
