Looks like the time to start modding my S1's to maintain maximum profits as I am now needing to add more hash power to my farm in order to keep my daily reward close to where it was before.

What percentage was the last difficulty increase? Knowing that should give me a good figure for how much I need to increase my hash rate.
I think I would rather see the 4 Ph/s over the 3.4 we are pushing now...if the pool doesn't grow with the network, the pool WILL get left behind.  Undecided

never ending story.

are you new here?

If I understand the question correctly, you are asking how long a piece of string is. **Answer at end of post

The best way to work out your new required hash pwr is what you got pre diff change Vs what your getting now V Pools Current Peak Hash pwr V your current hash power V your budget V your expected end game with BTC.

The new Diff has nothing but something to do with your current earnings on slushes pool, (Time in a round <Time in at end of Round) V pool hash V your current hash power.
Slush is luck at end of day, we have good rounds and some bad ones, I think pool hash pwr on the short rounds only lessons your earnings but on long ones the converse.

So look at your new earnings and how much you are willing to Gamble.

A piece of string is twice middle distance to end.

isn't that what I just said?

it lessens your chance of learning lessons

All we need now is a security expert who will look at the code and confirm there is no cheating from the devs side. Any volunteers?

+1

my post gets deleted on this thread for the exact same reply
thanx Slush, way to repay a 3 year veteran on your pool and an early funder of your projects

Wait 2-3 days and buy the upgrade?

I am at least 2 weeks from being able to make my next purchase...most likely a couple more S1 units and mod those so that I can push ~1 Th/s but on 1/2 the watts!

I am picking up a small scrypt asic setup to keep my "mine" diversified and versatile!

...and, by the time those are paid off, will you have enough to buy the next latest and greatest, will it ever end? no.

Actually, I should be able to keep my toes in the mining game for quite awhile so long as I make smart investments.

It's just good to know what percentage increase I am needing to shoot for just to keep up with what I have, if not increase any.

its either, quit while you are ahead, or all in.

hope you got free electricity
349  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Shares but no pay....? on: June 12, 2014, 05:10:18 AM
Not quite sure I understand this.... I have shares for this block but no money due?

22233   2014-06-11 11:29:18   14:52:33   39161790803   944613   0.00000000   305249   25.00810801    4 confirmations left

You have shares but they are stale, your hardware must have quit or network down.

this answer, 99.95% of the time this is the correct answer.

Quick question, is 100 Mhash/s good? I'm using a GTX 670 as the GPU, and I've gathered that they are much worse than AMD for hash rates, but I still seem to be getting a tiny estimated reward of around 0.00000050 BTC even after several hours of constantly mining the same block (it's been going for nearly 6 hours now, whereas I started mining about 3 ago).

only 3 years too late for that kickass gaming card to be any good for bitcoin mining.
351  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Trezor: Bitcoin hardware wallet on: June 11, 2014, 04:34:12 AM
is this already launched?
what's the price?

It will be launched in July. Price will be announced then.

so... 3 to 7 weeks. Good news everyone!

Our supplier has confirmed that they are on the right track to meet deadlines mentioned in the old announcement: http://satoshilabs.com/news/2014-05-08-trezor-metallics-shipping-classics-eta/

thank you for this update. this is good news.

Just wondering if it is mandatory to use myTREZOR with this device

For the moment, myTREZOR is the only wallet working with TREZOR.
Some other wallets are working on integrating TREZOR support and we strongly encourage that so people can have their choice.

Anyway, many people like myTREZOR for its simple interface, accessibility and security... We will be adding new features that are being requested, as mentioned in earlier posts.

That is unfortunate, as I was lead to believe that Bitcoin Qt now known as Bitcoin Core as well as MultiBit, Electrum, and others would be able to be used with Trezor, when i preordered almost  a year ago.
Thank you for the fast reply.

Oh look 10% done and already an hour into the block.

how the hell would you know this?
358  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [2000 TH] Slush's Pool (mining.bitcoin.cz); TX FEES + VarDiff on: June 04, 2014, 01:57:43 AM
I wanted to check my old account balance but I think my account was disabled for being unused for a while. I can't submit a ticket because it says my username doesn't exist. What else can I do to get in contact with someone?

the submit a ticket username/password is separate from your mining account user/pass and it is recommended to use a different one.
so just register and submit your ticket.

Repeating the same rant again, my confirmed reward has been above the threshold for some hours, but payment is not happening.  Ticket raised with Slush support.
Payment made.  All good now.  Thanks Slush Support!

Cheers

Highly unlikely support did anything for you...
If you really get this nuts over late payouts, you should def throw your miners on Eligius for a month... 4+ days of no payouts happening repeatedly will teach you how much to embrace the consistency of payouts here...
At least I get the good feeling that raising a support ticket helped fix it.... Smiley
As the payout process is supposed to be automated, when it doesn't happen something in the process needs to be fixed, or an alert raised for 'human intervention'.
It's good to know that it could be even worse....

Cheers

you get the good feeling of clogging their support with useless tickets

Bitcoin address labels
Account labels (instead of Account #1, Account #2, etc.)

This is planned for next release.

Tx Fee override?

Our conclusion of long discussions is that mytrezor won't allow custom tx fees. mytrezor is aiming mostly to common users and overriding fees can lead to unpredictable behaviour while sending transaction. As I know from teams of other clients, "I sent transaction and it is hanging unconfirmed. What should I do now?" is the most common reported issue which we want to avoid.

Fair enough!

I know a lot of people have said this already but.... YOU GUYS ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Smiley Smiley Smiley Smiley Smiley Smiley Smiley

YOU GUYS ROCK!!! indeed.
I would like to say also that Tx Fee override would be a desirable feature, and the "aiming mostly to common users" problem could be overridden by a warning upon activation of said feature.
