So how is trading on exchanges going to work, exactly?  With a total supply of ~2.8 quadrillion, even if every unit was worth just a couple of satoshi, that's still a pretty huge potential market cap.  Will it be traded in blocks/batches?

I think Mi/mega iota is likely the base unit for trading in exchanges.
Yes, I would prefer Mi to be used over Gi.

Using Gi would not give enough room before parity with BTC.
342  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [IOTA] IOTA Speculation on: July 19, 2016, 11:47:01 AM
hoe much did the ICO raised for 2773.. Trillion iota's ?

~400k USD

so the price was around 0.0004 btc per Giota.

Thanks.
Think it was more like 0.0005, 1btc got around 2Ti.

What I would't give to go back and tell myself to buy more than 1btc of it lol Wink
yeh was a nice deal for early adopters. But i think the exchange price will be more realistic than this open trading. It will rise for sure though.

I'm interested in what you think the opening market cap will be once it hits exchanges.

I love to see "This user is currently ignored."

Don't quote the two sockpuppets, they're boring.
Your call on ignoring them, not mine.
344  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [IOTA] IOTA Speculation on: July 19, 2016, 10:48:04 AM
And if no big businesses bite because transaction costs are offloaded the customer IOTA disappears into the alt coin black hole like so many others
Why would a business offload transaction costs to customers? They would be more competitive if they used a fee free infrastructure.

Come on, do try harder!

What entity would pay for such a troll?

Seems Child_Harold sold ~6x more than he originally had. So even with frozen funds everyone that didn't bother with escrow or verify that he indeed had the sums he claimed has lost about 80%

sad, but ... escrow guys!
Yes, I think they know this now.

Poor effort!

Just curious as I've noticed sell orders being posted here in the thread. Aren't there an exchange for this to be done or a simple website perhaps where simeple BTC/IOTA trading be created?
Wait a week or so and this will be the case, I am sure.
349  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [IOTA] IOTA Speculation on: July 11, 2016, 01:39:22 PM
I keep up my offer, WTB 500G for 5 BTC.

That are +2500% from the initial ICO.

I'll buy all your BTC at 2011 prices. See how relevant it is to try to buy something for 25% of current market price. Any promising project should have a working and vibrant OTC market to distribute the asset.
Actually a trade has recently gone through at that price, so his offer seems quite relevant and your post not so much.

Attacking people for filling the bid side of an OTC market and not simply matching an ask is rather annoying.

Cryptoknightt, as we are so close to launch, surely you will now be accepting trades with escrow?

It's only a matter of days until trades can be completed, so you wouldn't be without BTC for long.

Let me know.

Sorry for being out of the loop, but are transfers confirmed irreversible yet?

think that Iceland might be able to cause an another surprise. France need to cope without two first-choice footballers and this could be a problem for france. Iceland are in high spirits now and they might take advantage of it.so my betting tip will be like +1.5 Iceland

This Euro is full of surprises. I can see Iceland moving forward and upsetting France in the quarterfinals, as wales did it with Belgium. Small teams giving best of their games.
I can also see Iceland pulling off an upset.

Iceland vs Wales final would be great  Grin

What was the price of 1 IOTA in the ico stage?  Btw, what is with giota, I mean only 1 billion iota was sold....

the price of the ICO doesnt matter anymore. We are in a different planet now.
It does matter - this is a speculation thread. Anyone wishing to speculate would be wise to find out where it started.

I'm suprised to see it trading so low, to be honest.

Give it time, sellers will sell into stronger hands.
