342  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Blocksize: Should we take a step back and look at spam from a different angle? on: September 06, 2015, 09:46:49 AM
I think the network already does something like this.
If you try to send an output that you just received, it will have lower priority.
343  Other / Off-topic / Re: What do you wish you could buy with btc ? on: September 06, 2015, 09:36:46 AM
I saw someone mention some things about wishing they could buy gas and food with btc ...
I agree with them both, food especially.

So what about you guys ?
Anything that you wish you could buy with btc ? (legal things of course LOL Cheesy)
I wish flippa start accepting bitcoin so that I can buy websites and domain and pay my fees for enlisting my sites in btc

You can use Bitcoin at Namecheap to buy domains.
344  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: New Cryptocurrency Social Media Network on: September 06, 2015, 09:35:31 AM
What does it have to do with cryptocurrency?
Maybe if it ran on Ethereum it would be cool.
345  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What's the next big thing? on: September 06, 2015, 09:30:03 AM
bitcoin is dead, use your BTC to buy ETH.

I use Ethereum to power my 3D printed, Ruby on Rails, pumpkin spice skinny latte startup. But you wouldn't have heard of it.
346  Other / Off-topic / Re: Monese - All you need from a bank, without the bank on: September 05, 2015, 06:51:56 PM
Yeah I saw an advert for Monese, it seems like they are trying to offer all the benefits of Bitcoin, or using Bitcoin underneath, or or or....WEIRD!  Can anyone explain more...?

I guess we'll find out when they launch.
347  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Starting a fund to create an underwater Bitcoin Artificial Reef! on: September 05, 2015, 03:04:44 PM
Maybe you could put a QR code underwater for the divers to send donations too.
I'm not sure how well the phone would work underwater though.
348  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Malware on: September 05, 2015, 02:59:38 PM
Linux.

No anti-this and anti-that software. Ditch Windows and use Linux, you'll avoid most of these types of attacks.
If you are looking for a linux version that has a windows feel I suggest Linux Mint, you can use wine for most windows programs but games have a lot of compatibility issues.

Don't forget linux is free :http://www.linuxmint.com/

Is linuxmint more secure than ubuntu?

What are the differences between the 2?

What about keyloggers, webcam trojans, clipboard stealers, kernel malware and screen capture malware?

Linux Mint is based on Ubuntu.
There isn't much difference between the two.
349  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you want human body parts and organs to be bought & sold with Bitcoin? on: September 05, 2015, 02:55:31 PM
Absolutely not !
Since this is illegal trade , some criminal may seek bitcoin as payment method since their transaction is untraceable rather than using local currency. Hope this will not getting more spread out globally because it will make difficult for law enforcement to do their job to track some crime

Bitcoin is not for a particular country so how do we decide which country's laws does Bitcoin choose to follow? Anyway, it's not like it can be enforced.
350  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin stress test on: September 05, 2015, 11:50:55 AM
My transactions are still going through fine.
351  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you want human body parts and organs to be bought & sold with Bitcoin? on: September 05, 2015, 11:50:14 AM
To be honest, I'm not in the market for body parts.

I for one, welcome our new XT overlords.
353  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Malware on: September 05, 2015, 09:19:04 AM
i would love to use linux but my wifi stick doesnt have the drivers for linux

I bet there are drivers around. Sometimes you have to search to find out what hardware you have and not what it is labeled with.

On my reserve laptop the wifi use intel drivers in windows but it was produced by broadcom so i had to get broadcom drivers to get it working in linux.

About linux security...   I have an old laptop with ubuntu.  It is formated corectly with a partisjon for each user level and cryptated. I have lost the password and it is impossible to get in. No live cd can start and it is no way to get to the disks. Even a mini linux on a usb stick cant read the disks.

Do you need to recover the files, or do you just want the laptop working again?
You should be able to just use a program like dd to clear out the disk, and then you will be able to install an operating system again.
354  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What happened to the guy that got permanent brain damage from mining a few years on: September 04, 2015, 10:20:48 PM
This was surprising, never read about this...  Also curious about what he's up to now. Probably mining Bitcoin again Cheesy

Also very curious to know what kind of temperatures his room was in...

anything over 100 with no wind is getting dangerous for long periods

not that hard to heat a room >100

That's 37C   Shocked
I don't think I've ever been somewhere that hot in my life, and I use a computer with AMD components.
355  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If CoinWallet.eu is stressing BTC... Do you support stressing CoinWallet.eu? on: September 04, 2015, 10:15:02 PM
coinwallet.eu is under "stress test".

Somebody get this man a beer.
356  Other / Off-topic / Re: Knife or Gun. which would you choose on: September 04, 2015, 09:03:57 PM
This actually was nicely covered in a Korean movie I forgot the title: a guy was a superpro with knives, he can do with them everythig: throw in a target from big distance with great success, he killed a tiger with just a small knife after the animal attacted him, he literally could do all sorts of things with a knife ... Then one day a bad guy with a gun appeared and just shot the knife master, shot him dead. Thats all.

Well that's depressing.
Is it a full feature length film, or just some YouTube video?
357  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] SpaceChain.io l The bitcoin mixing service you were looking for. on: September 04, 2015, 09:00:01 PM

Our Stats
Total Mixed Bitcoins:
88.403699 BTC
Total Participants:

Since when do you guys started this mixing service? Are the stats on your site faked or have you been mixing bitcoins for long? I cannot see any traces of your service anywhere in the web so I'm a bit skeptical about the coins your site states that you've already mixed.

I don't believe in your service's stats.

hahahhahahaha. If that wasn't damning enough:

Our Stats
Total Mixed Bitcoins:
53.549068 BTC
Total Participants:
248

Guess they unmixed some coins!

Nice find.
Has anybody successfully used this service to mix coins, or does it just steal them?

360  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: CoinWallet says Bitcoin stress test in September will create 30-day backlog on: September 04, 2015, 02:03:49 PM
Should also expect some price volatility along with this.

It will be a good time to buy some more  Wink
