341  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: can i mine any altcoin with any miner ? on: August 01, 2015, 08:59:49 AM
In short, no. Altcoins uses different languages that they code in. Bitcoin uses SHA-256, litecoin uses scrypt and so does dogecoin I believe. You need to purchase a miner coded specifically for what you are planning to mine.

345  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Looking for new coin created for my own 3-5mill usd business on: July 31, 2015, 06:46:52 PM
I wouldn't risk it. Making your own coin is a real business on it's own. You have to create your coin, grow it to a stable price in order to really be safe with this kind of stuff. Even bitcoin doesn't have stability. I really wouldn't recommend accepting a self-created coin with no base value. Primitive as it sounds Tongue I'd suggest using your country's currency until crypto-currency fully develops and is accepted everywhere.
346  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Scrypt Miners on: July 31, 2015, 06:23:53 PM
You have to look on company websites that sell scrypt miners for release dates for new miners.
347  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Altcoins mined with CPU on: July 31, 2015, 06:16:17 PM
Don't recommend mining with CPU regardless of coin. Get a nice GPU if you would like profit. CPUs have been outed in bitcoin and litecoin, most other altcoins also don't give you profit for their speed. I suggest you invest 200$ in a GPU if you want to get started mining for profit. (With altcoins)
348  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GPU Crypto Mining on: July 31, 2015, 06:09:36 PM
Well, the comparison is pretty general, you can (I don't recommend if you have no cooling system) use all of your cores to mine with AMDs in general. It lowers the lifespan of your GPU, but you do get more hashes. Depending on what GPU you get (don't recommend going back more than 3 generations on the AMD scale if you want profit) the KH/s vary. Keep in mind that mining bitcoin on GUIminer gets you Megahashes, which are equivalent to altcoin mining's Kilohashes. Your profit depends on what GPU you use and what coin you mine. Smiley Heff a good dey.
349  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Litecoin is the new Bitcoin on: July 31, 2015, 06:00:30 PM
Litecoin is reliant on it's big daddy counterpart at the moment. That is why it crashed when bitcoin went into a nosedive. My speculation is that it's days are numbered...
350  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Is mining with a regular computer profitable? on: July 31, 2015, 05:54:06 PM
Depends what alt-coin you want to mine. At the moment, Litecoin and Dogecoin, right now, not profitable without a newer AMD GPU. So, in short, nope.
