341  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Should Ethereum and DAO be bought now? on: August 08, 2016, 09:24:32 AM

I also saw on reddit that most of the developers will support ETH only. So there will be fewer support for ETC.

The ETC users have to employ their own developers. That could cost them some money without big holders.

The DAO hacker is rich enough, he has over 3 million of ETC, he can pay the developers to develop for ETC.

Even though he is rich, he will not care about the benefit of the Ethereum community. He is in for the money only.

That could be right. He can short the ETC now and make a lot of money by shorting like he did with the ETH.

If bitcoin is becoming a blobal currency, i'm sure it will make the price of bitcoin increase so high and many people will using bitcoin around the world.

That is happening now. The bitcoin transactions have increased steadily over the years and the block is almost full.
343  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum mining still profitable? on: August 07, 2016, 09:13:59 AM
No no
ETH not profitable anymore to mine
Except you got free rigs and electricity

true statement, if you pay over 40 cent per kwh of energy. most of us pay 15 cent or less, so ETH mining ist still profitable atm

If you use some kind of undervolting and reduce the frequency of the core or memory, it is still profitable.

Miners tend to overvolt and overclock. That will make their ROI faster if their electricity price is low.,

The difficulty of the ETC+ETH is still rising even at the uncertain times. It seems people are very confident.

The hash rate for the Ethereum is at a new all time high now. So the big miners think the price will rise again.

It looks like it. There are more hashing on the Etherum, even though miners might now ROI in the future.
344  Economy / Speculation / Re: 2016 Bitcoin Predictions on: August 07, 2016, 09:12:10 AM
In 2016 the bitfinex hack occurred two time which brought a more bad situations both time for bitcoin because of that hacks the halving remained ineffective and now when we were expect the effect of halving to be start in the coming months then once again it delayed.

I agree with that. The Bitfinex hack damages the reputation of the bitcoin exchanges and people do not  buy bitcoin.
Bitcoin network could either be hacked by stealing BTCs, or shocked to death triggering panic and drops in BTC value. I hope this helps the Bitcoin community to develop a currency that's really resilient to attacks.

When the bitcoin price is lower, the exchanges will not be too affected. It will be killed by hacks, internal or external.
345  Economy / Economics / Re: Next generation money on: August 07, 2016, 09:08:11 AM
The total majority of Bitcoin holders think of their favorite toy as the next step in the evolution of money (less so for active users). I don't deny the technological innovation in respect to the blockchain and the decentralized nature of how new money is created through mining. With that said, I still don't think that Bitcoin did actually revolutionize the concept of money itself. Gold as money existed long before fiat, and it was "created" in a decentralized way too, so nothing particularly new here as well...

I have an idea what could be an entirely new form of money (actually, it is not my idea), but first I would like to hear from you, guys (and gals), what you think about the truly new money that is yet to be invented or implemented

I think that there`s no need to revolutionize or invent brand new money.

Bitcoin is the future and it`s working great.

Why don`t you share your idea?

The bitcoin will be developed in the future, it will evolve and adapt to the new environment so it is the future money.
346  Economy / Economics / Re: How many coins did you have during the rise? on: August 07, 2016, 09:06:32 AM
i think i had a good amount of bitcoin when the price of bitcoin was raising but still i have these bitcoin i not sell it in the previous days while people were really doing panic selling lost a lot  of money with spreading news about he news about the bitfinex. now the price of bitcoin is raising again and hope that this time it is going to cross the 1000 USD level easily.

I think the effect of the Bitfinex hack will die down very soon. The hacker will be caught and the price will rise.
347  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: August 07, 2016, 09:04:17 AM
I think we can all see what is coming.  ETH is dead.  ETC will go back to being the only chain (like it was before the hard fork).

Sure it will take time because there is a lot of big money in ETH they won't give up easily but it is just a matter of time.

Even the foundation will grudgingly slide back to the original chain (and probably quietly admit they screwed up).

It is like someone has started draining the value out of ETH and putting it directly into ETC.  Nobody is more surprised than me at this.

Crypto is nothing if not constantly surprising us.

That can't happen, because it is mathematically impossible Cheesy

Furthermore, when ETH goes over to POS in 7 months, well, stuff looks very bad for ETC.

There is no firm schedule for the PoS on ETH yet. I think the PoW will last for another 12 months at least.

349  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I think Ethereum will be finished after this attack on: August 06, 2016, 08:16:05 AM
looks like the new drama that this attack has created in ethereum world has only made it better for making profit, so far the classic version which is called ETC has been rising over the past few days and doesn't seems to be slowing down any time soon even with all the threats that is being made against it.

That is absolutely right. The miners are making good profit by mining the two version of the Ethereum now.

Miners will merge mine as soon as they can. I think we'll get a parity in price and thing could be stable with merge mining. If no merge mining is official until parity i'd expect the dirt-fork to bite the dust. But that line of thought is likely out of reach for the dirt-fork-amateurs to get their head around in time.

That is a good idea. Is there any plan to merge mine the coins by the developers or miner can do it themselves?

I do not think the Ethereum Foundation will support the ETC any more. They will work 100% on ETH.

Many developers have already claimed that they will support the ETH only, that could be reason for the drop of the ETC.

If the market cap of ETC is higher than ETH, they will also support the ETC. There is nothing concrete now.

351  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: R.I.P Ethereum - The Pre-Mined ScamCoin is dead on: August 06, 2016, 08:12:36 AM
It seems the Etherreum will not rest in peace soon. The trading volume is 150,000 bitcoins. That is more than the bitcoin.

That is because the bitcoin is big trouble at the moment. One big exchange lsot 120k bitcoins due to hack.

The Bitfinex exchange lost 119k bitcoins. It has reported to law enforcement. I wonder how the police will respond.
352  Economy / Economics / Re: Next generation money on: August 04, 2016, 07:51:19 AM
i dont need a lot of anonymity too, i think that bitcoins will definitely be the next generation money and it will be really huge currency in the future

The main problem with the bitcoin is that it is mainly traded in the exchanges. The exchanges are not safe.

354  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin is Becoming a Global Currency on: August 04, 2016, 07:44:58 AM
The price of bitcoin is once again going to decrease in price, and with that situation it is impossible for bitcoin that it will ever become a global currency, for becoming a global currency it will have to attain a stronger stability.

As time goes on, the bitcoin infrastructure is built, the bitcoin price will be high and it will be more stable.
355  Economy / Speculation / Re: 2016 Bitcoin Predictions on: August 04, 2016, 07:40:15 AM
I love the fact that we are so close to the 700 dollar barrier...

Even 2016 seems a strong year for btc, halving was a good promo, and a lot of company are behind the door...

My prediction for this year it's simply: we can touch easily 1000$ or more this year, wait until nov-dec and you can see this good increase

well this should be year of bitcoin for sure resistance is strong for now on 700 but it will go up for sure after month or two it will go over 800 possible to hit over 1k by end of year

The year end bitcoin price will be between $900 to $1000. If there is some very good news, the price will be higher.

That could happen. The price of bitcoin is around $650 for a few weeks already. It will jump to $900 in the next few months.

The  bitcoin price just dropped to $605. That could be the trading price for the next few weeks.

The bitcoin price is around $550 now. That is due to the big hack on the Bitfinex, 120k bitcoins lost.

My badluck i dont have that much bitcoins at that time...actually i was a newbie at that time and collecting from some faucets at that time and i had only few satoshies may be around 0.01btc after a lot of work

I think it is good time to buy the bitcoin below $600. Then we can hold them for the next 6 to 12 months.
358  Economy / Economics / Re: Deflation and Bitcoin, the last word on this forum on: August 02, 2016, 08:22:19 AM
halving will not change anything unless the price of bitcoin expected to increase
Well I agree with you man. But halving do bring 1 change, and that is the miner's profit for mining bitcoin. That is the only change it bring to bitcoin.

You know some systems, when you change one variable, the system gets out of balance. It rebalances and afterwards all (or most) variables are seen to have changed.

Since the halving is only happening once every 4 years that gives plenty of time to stabilize the price, if the price rises as will demand to a certain degree so the deflation will only hit when the demand is unable to keep up with the price rise.

That is right. But the deflation of the bitcoin will continue all the time as there is a limited supply of the bitcoin.
359  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin is Becoming a Global Currency on: August 02, 2016, 08:16:46 AM
I don't think so, because bitcoins is still very young currency and many people can't understand that goverments of many countries will not allow to bitcoin become a legal currency till it's not profitable for them.
Well, bitcoin is not for everyone because not everybody knows how to use computer even with simple functions, this is only for people who usually transact online and bitcoin will give them benefits that they have not experience using their current payment system. It is becoming a global currency in the sense that almost all of the major countries are already using bitcoin and of course when major countries adopt then less developed countries will also follow.

In the future, using bitcoin is as easy as using the fiat online banking. You need only smart phone to do that.
