341  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Uber & Lyft to accept Bitcoin on: December 01, 2017, 10:57:38 PM
Lyft is still hanging in there? I amr eally surprised ocnsidering how dominant Uber is in the field. Lyft is only trying to stop them from becoming an absolute monopoly. Grin Grin Grin
342  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin be replaced by another cryptocurrency? on: December 01, 2017, 10:50:30 PM
Bitcoin will never be replaced. You can't just take over the newtork and make it into a new currency. It will always be here.

I think what you meant to ask is will another cryptocurrency ever become more popular or widely used than Bitcoin? I would have to say this is a possibility because no one knows the future.
343  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: PhD on a topic in blockchain on: December 01, 2017, 10:45:49 PM
Getting your Ph.D. on Blockchain related papers or whatnot, writing your thesis on the Blockchain is a sure way to impress your professors. This is a hot industry and people all over the world are developing it as we speak. Just imagine how impressed your school would be to have an expert on Blockchain graduate from their school compared to some general field which is not as important in today's economic landscape...
344  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should I invest In Bitcoin? on: December 01, 2017, 10:42:13 PM
I think it is a no-brainer to invest in Bitcoin right now. Open up an account at LocalBitcoins and you can buy some within a few minutes. Just check whichever option is best for you, usually, most people go with cash deposits and then you are good to go!
345  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "Everyone already knows about bitcoin" no.. no they do not.. on: December 01, 2017, 09:56:25 PM
Not only do most people not know about Bitcoin, but by my estimation I would say only 1% or less of the world's population has ever owned any Bitcoin at all and of that maybe half even understand what it is about.

And of those 0.5%, maybe 1//10 actually understand the underlying technology. And then maybe 1/100 of them is even proficient in blockchain technology. These numbers are of course not scientifically proven, and are only my estimations. Tongue
346  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Criminality and Bitcoin on: December 01, 2017, 09:41:54 PM
I think more crime is committed with crypto these days (not only Bitcoin) than even the USD dollar.

Think about it, most crime online these days is done using BTC or now, more recently Monero. It offers full anonymity whereas other options simply don't and can lead to you easily getting caught.

This is why I think there needs to be some form of regulation only against scammers in the crypto world. The police need to crack down on illegal activity to make BTC and crypto more attractive to the general public.
347  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Trading Strategy on: November 26, 2017, 10:30:36 PM
My trading strategy is simple. Buy, and don't sell until the price is higher than what you bought it for.

See, the problem with most traders is they panic. Panicking is your worst enemy. IF you do that, you are bound to lose all your money eventually. It just doesn't mix with trading.
348  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Help, scam or not? on: November 26, 2017, 10:28:24 PM
Hi guys, someone has just messaged me on facebook asking if i wanted to learn more about bitcoin... I don't know much but this seems a bit dodgy to me, so I've come to this forum for your guys thoughts? Here are the messages she sent me

HER:

We are giving people the opportunity to come and be educated about bitcoin for 30 mins in our office and chesterfield and in return we will give you a free lunch at wether spoons for 2 people x
Is it something you'd be interested in?

ME:

Sounds good so far, may I ask why you are giving people this opportunity?x

HER:

To educate people and make them know what bitcoin is about. We mine bitcoin so you can make money easy. I have a wallet for my little boy it's easy money xx
Crypto currency is the way forward. And bitcoin will be worth 10,000 a coin soon. So rather than buying bitcoin s you can mine them xx

ME:

I'm kind of familiar with mining, although I've heard I'd spend more money on electric keeping a miner running than I would make bitcoin?x

HER:

That's why we do the mining here for You, mining at home doesn't make financial sense. But the only profitable way to mine is In a farm and that's what we do. We mine whatever is profitable at the time. If you give me a few details I'll book you for a appointment and you'll get a free lunch for 2 and all this info x

I don't know if I'm just being paranoid, or is this an actual opportunity ? Would be great to hear from you guys, thanks a lot

Based on my opinion on what is going on there, I don't see it as a scam yet because I have attended a bitcoin introduction gathering before and it was all  about meeting people and all fun which I enjoyed there was a lot of food and drinks at the venue as well. Although, everything discussed is something I already know but getting to know about other people into bitcoin is something I see as an opportunity.

At the point where you need to start getting worried is where the issue of security is of concern or if the cost of getting to the venue is too much on your part and finally if they start telling you to invest in something you have not seen and promising excessive returns. In short the summary of the matter is that the moment they are promising what is likely not to be true, then its surely a scam.

This sounds just like a timeshare scam. They trick people to going into a meeting for "30 minutes" but it ends up being a few hours and then if you leave early you do not even get paid. I would not go to this "meeting" if I were you.
349  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICO's are finally coming to an end! on: November 26, 2017, 10:26:21 PM
ICOs aren't coming to and end. I don't know where you came up with this, but if you just look around there are still plenty of them going on right now including Angel Token (click my signature for more info!).
350  Economy / Speculation / Re: If you still think BTC will never reach $50,000 ... on: November 26, 2017, 10:17:00 PM
Well I think it will not only reach $50,000, but a lot, lot higher than that. IT is going to happen very fast, although I think there will be a crash soon because most people are ignorant about BTC and this is when crashes happen.
351  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: RECOMMENDABLE EXCHANGE on: November 26, 2017, 10:10:53 PM
I use Altcoin.io - Decentralized Cryptocurrency Exchange -  http://www.altcoin.io?kid=JMAHG
Is it recommendable or 'I use'? What your facts? How long this exchange work? With Polo, Bittrex etc work hundreds of traders. How many traders on this?

All top 5 are recommendable. Each have own  solved problem but all for their have excellent trading volumes

If I use something that is not a obligation for you. Across 23000 traders finds that Altcoin is for them. I don't trust Bittrex, Polo and your etc exchange anymore because very often disable people account without reason and the fee is to big . I work with all but find Altcoin most promising because the team behind them and their support service is amazing and fee is low. If you want to try you can be my guest here  http://www.altcoin.io?kid=JMAHG Peace. I just want more and more money.

Could you make it any more obvious that you are simply copying your referral link here trying to get signups under you to make money from them? You should not be talking bad about other exchanges because guess what? Bittrex is way better than altcoin.io right now which is brand new and cannot be trusted. We should work together as a crypto community and not talk bad about other exchanges for no reason just to post our affiliate link here for our own profit.
352  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bounty campaigns for ETH? on: November 26, 2017, 10:08:22 PM
I am looking for bounty campaigns I can join that pay in ETH, anyone got any recommendations?

Most bounty campaigns do not pay in ETH. They pay in either Bitcoin or their ow token, although I highly suggest staying away from ICOs or bounties that pay in their own token because most of them are scams.

With that said, one campaign that is currently paying in ETH is my campaign. See my signature? Join the Angel Token campaign and use your ETH address to apply and get paid weekly in ETH to post here on the forum.
353  Economy / Economics / Re: What is the best way to invest/grow your Bitcoins? on: November 26, 2017, 10:04:21 PM
I can tell you from sheer experience the best way to invest or grow your Bitcoins is to simply buy and Hold them. There is no reason whatsoever that you should need to sell them or try to trade to grow them. Just hold and your net worth will eventually skyrocket. Just look at this past year and how high the Bitcoin price has come. It truly is incredible.
354  Economy / Economics / Re: What will happen if the government know bitcoin in your country? on: November 26, 2017, 09:57:12 PM
I guarantee you right now that the government, all governments know about Bitcoin by now. It is no longer a secret. People who have not heard about it, I just don't understand how this is possible. It is being advertised on all media platforms now. At least, cryptocurrency is. And this fact alone means most people should have been exposed to BTC already.

Now, what will this mean for governments? Well, they absolutely do not like it at all. Bitcoin represents an existential threat to them, because they have no control over it. Money is the main way governments track their citizens. Crimes as well, are often or usually solved by tracing or following the money, as they say. Without this paper trail it is going to become much, much harder for governments to oppress their citizens, which is a great thing.
355  Economy / Economics / Re: Crypto now worth more than visa! on: November 26, 2017, 09:52:07 PM
I don't think it is best comparison at all. But cryptocurrency have big future as we can see right now. Big companies already interested, many governments too, there are enough hype in the mass media already. Ordinary people talk about bitcoin. There will be big price corrections as in the past but overall economics needs it.
Exactly, comparing cryptocurrency to Visa in this manner serves the sole purpose of fabricating hype. Sure we're growing at a rapid pace and by the time you are reading this we might have already hit/surpassed a marketcap of $300,000,000,00 but we still have a lot of internal issues that we have to fix before we should get extremely excited. But all in all I think this is yet another confirmation that bitcoin and cryptocurrecny is here to stay.

I think the fact that Bitcoin's value overcame PayPal recently is the most significant. PayPal is something almost everyone has used/uses to make payments online. The sheer fact that BTC alone is worth more now just goes to show that, as you say, cryptocurrency is here to stay.
356  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin or gold? on: November 26, 2017, 09:49:21 PM
Bitcoin is hands down at the very least, equal to gold in terms of value. Why?

Well, gold is , always has been and always will be a great store of value. This will never change.

However, Bitcoin is the digital equivalent of Gold and ultimately backed by the network of miners who produce them and this takes a lot of time and energy and thus provides significant value. Not to mention it can be used easier and easier everyday that goes by.
357  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoins got me my X. on: November 25, 2017, 11:57:43 PM
Congratulations on quitting your job, living free, and not answering to anybody.  I one day want to be on that same boat but I have to continue to work at it and accumulate bitcoins and altcoins to make it one day.  It will take a lot of calculating which altcoins gain at a faster pace and converting those altcoins to bitcoins.  One small step but I am getting there.

Bro... you want to know how to get in the same boat? The answer is simple... you need to quit your job NOW.

Do not wait until the far future. There is no guarantee that you will even still be alive tomorrow. If you want to quit your job, then it has to be now. Not tomorrow, you need to change your life NOW!
358  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Where does Bitcoin came from? on: November 25, 2017, 11:56:23 PM
Bitcoin comes from code, essentially. It is a code that makes sure only 21,000,000 Bitcoin (BTC) will ever be created. This underlying technology is called the Blockchain. The Blockchain is like a sidewalk. Imagine walking down the sidewalk OK? Each block is like the Blockchain, and each coin has it's own blockchain, if that makes any sense. Tongue
359  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: minimum amount to start trading? on: November 24, 2017, 09:16:21 PM
I can tell you right now you should not trade more than you are willing to lose, because chances are you will lose everything.
360  Economy / Economics / Re: Value of bitcoin on: November 24, 2017, 09:14:18 PM
everything have their own advantage and disadvantage,
if we're comparing it to actual money aka fiat,i think it would be better to use fiat at the moment.
right now Bitcoin can not be used by people wholly, what i mean is it has a limited supply and a high fees.
if people use it in their life replacing an actual money,i believe the fees would be huge and it's much more than taxes that we need to pay daily.
plus it's not easy to use for them who do not know about computer or computer savvy.
lastly if we want to use it in our real life,we need to have a physical form.
Bitcoin is good as digital currency,no more than that right now.
we need actual money to value it and keep it alive,at least for now it does not fit to be a real currency based on its technology and system.

Well that's your own perceptions mate, and based on my insights here bitcoin is the leading currency regardless of type whether digital or fiat currency. No wonder how it will influence people's live in the next 10 years, we might notice the changing effects of global adoptions of digital currency in terms of transactions and usability. So we can't exactly have into conclusions that it would not fit into real currency, because technology and system always have developments.

Yeah it truly is amazing how people don't seem to realize things evolve and so does technology and Bitcoin is an example of a revolutionary thing that has come from an even more revolutionary technology (Blockchain) and we should wholeheartedly embrace it. Smiley
