341  Other / Meta / Re: Why is merit not common on trading discussion board on: April 20, 2024, 05:40:46 PM
Just because merit/post reatio on a certain board is low, doesn't mean that automatically needs a dedicated merit source as you have to take into consideration quality of discussion as well.
I think having a dedicated merit source for a board isn't bad either as that merit source can look for high quality, useful posts on that particular board and send merits to the members who make good quality, helpful posts on that board.

I believe most boards should have a few dedicated merit sources so the members who make posts in those boards may get some merits. Like most local boards have dedicated merit sources who send merits to the helpful posts at those local boards.
342  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcoin Core 27.0 has been released and the forum should update it on: April 20, 2024, 05:34:06 PM
Actually this is not true for the torrent link  Wink
I was about to share the torrent link of the updated version of Bitcoin core but then I tought it would be great if Theymos share it on the top of the forum.

@achow101 has posted today about the latest releases - 25.2, 26.1, 27 - hence I expect the forum link will also get updated soonTM.
Thanks for letting me know, I haven't seen achow101's post and that's why I created this one. However, I hope that soon Theymos may update the Bitcoin core 27.0 and its torrent on the forum.
343  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to be more visible in the forum as a beginner on: April 20, 2024, 05:30:14 PM
You can’t stop these newbies from posting into that board if they feel they have serious information to share, most especially if they have seen that most of the posters there are not knowledgeable enough.
Yes, I agree, the newbies always want to target those boards which are not so tough for them and that's why it's not possible to stop them from posting at such boards. The forum allows them so we also should not worry much about those newbies.

I believe that if they continue posting in non relevant boards then it would be hard for them to learn about Bitcoin. In order to learn Bitcoin properly, they have to visit the boards where information about Bitcoin is discussed, and those boards really help out newbies.
344  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Where best to enjoy this forum... on: April 20, 2024, 05:23:17 PM
I have been using this forum on my desktop and laptop and so far I have never had any issue. Even on desktop I have zoomed the forum a lot so I can see the text fully without losing focus.

A few times I have used this forum on my smartphone but the experience on mobile screen wasn't good at all, and I found it not enjoyable.

I prefer to use this forum on either my desktop PC which's the main device that I use to browse this forum,  or on my laptop when I want some portability.
345  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which block marks the halving? on: April 20, 2024, 05:14:21 PM
Which block marks the halving? Which one do we celebrate? Is it 840000, 840001, or 839999?
We all already celebrated the block 840000 and that's the block which marked the new halving. At that block the reward of mining block was reduced to half and that's why it's the halving block and we all should consider it the mighty block of this year.
346  Other / Meta / Bitcoin Core 27.0 has been released and the forum should update it on: April 20, 2024, 05:08:15 PM
Bitcoin Core 27.0 was released on 16th of April 2024 but the forum is still having the old version which is Bitcoin Core version 26.0. I'm creating this post to let administrators know that the forum's version of the Bitcoin Core needs to be updated to the newest version.

Bitcoin core 27.0 was released on 16th of April, that was a surprise release before the halving, that's why most people aren't talking about it because most of us were deeply interested in halving event  that we haven't even thought that Bitcoin Core's new version will be released before it.

Here's the link of release status of Bitcoin core 27.0: Bitcoin Core 27.0 Released

Here's the link to download Bitcoin core 27.0: Bitcoin Core Download Link
347  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: joya.casino biggest scam they scam me with 1145$ on: April 19, 2024, 06:22:41 PM
Unfortunately it seems their signature campaign has been halted suddenly. Maybe they've been hacked/stolen internally or from outside, or maybe it is an exit scam.
Most new casinos run signature campaigns for sometime and when they don't see any results then they most probably give up on the idea of signature campaign. That could also be true in case of joya.casino, however as now they have an scam accusation against them, then I also think that they might have been either hacked or they are trying to do rug-pull and scam exit with the players.

The casino seemed a good one in its initial days, and it attracted some players who liked that platform, but after a few months of operation they got an scam accusation against them. Why would a legit casino ban an account of a player when that player just want to withdraw his/her funds even he/she has completed the 1x wager requirements.

This seems like a shady sign to me, it would be great to hear from Joya.casino's representative that why that happened with the player who created this scam accusation post against them. If they want to do business for long term then they should solve the issues of the OP. Meanwhile I also recommend everyone to be careful from that casino.
348  Other / Meta / Re: Why is merit not common on trading discussion board on: April 19, 2024, 02:23:44 PM
If a poster can not earn merit, it is about post quality and boards are no longer reasons for that user. Because after a long time of writing many posts, no single earned merit, it means something about actual post quality of that user.
I'm not talking about single merit but talking about merits that posts/threads receive in board where the merit sources spend more time.

If you check the WO thread, and technical discussion board then you'll see that the number of merits per post in those areas of the forum is much high as compare to that of gambling boards.

I believe that no matter how good quality posts you make, if those aren't noticed or read by the merit sources or the ones who have sMerits then getting merits for those posts/threads isn't easy.

I know there are reputed merit sources who run their threads to help/support such threads/posts, but those members have to wait months to get some merits on their posts/threads.

While the ones who make good and valuable posts/threads in trading discussion board that's the one which OP mentioned may not get merits for such valuable posts/threads and some of those posts get unnoticed.
349  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Stay alert and keep suspect of when someone is helping you out of your wallet on: April 19, 2024, 10:41:29 AM
The only thing you should be careful about is not sharing your seed phrase and private key with anyone. Those are the only ways to enter and access your wallets and transfer funds out of it, if you don't share those with anyone then you're totally safe.

You should also be careful to not send any funds to a wallet address that's not yours because most crypto transactions are irreversible and sending your funds to a unknown wallet will lead to loss of those funds. Never trust anyone with your sensitive data, and never install software that someone sends you.

Your crypto wallets are just like your bank accounts, but with wallets you're the owner of everything however with bank accounts you are just controlling the account with limits and restrictions set out of higher authority. So always keep your crypto wallets, their seed phrases, and private keys safe.
350  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is the game 'Fortune Tiger' or the little tiger game famous in your region? on: April 19, 2024, 10:29:20 AM
I have never played those games and they aren't much famous in my region. Most of the times, I see social media influencers promoting casinos that are the shady ones like 1xbit or 1xbet and games like aviator that most often have huge house edges which most players can't win.

I suggest you to avoid playing those games if you think they are made in a shady way to loot the money of the players. The best games to place bets in my eyes will always be those that are physical matches available on sportsbook as they can't be manipulated by platforms in anyway.
351  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Raptors forward Jontay Porter banned from life from NBA for betting violations on: April 19, 2024, 10:20:13 AM
I agree with Oshosondy, the same topic was posted a few hours ago and that got some replies as well. I recommend you to lock this thread as the 100% similar thread is already present and active on this board.
352  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: ROLLBIT scammed 130.000$ and made me an addict without taking action on it! on: April 19, 2024, 10:15:57 AM
I'm very sorry for your loss but that's not scamming as you have lost everything willingly by betting. Those who play casino games should understand that there's always house edge set by a casinos on those games to be the winner in end.

Only those people who are very lucky might be able to win that house edge, but most people aren't very lucky and that's why they lose continuedly. If I were on your place, then I would never deposit such high amounts for betting on casino games.

Instead of casino games I would more like place bets on sportsbook so even with some losses, I could win by doing more research. In casino games research and strategy don't work at all or at least they haven't worked for me, but in sportsbook they sometimes work.
353  Other / Meta / Re: Why is merit not common on trading discussion board on: April 19, 2024, 10:03:49 AM
I have also noticed that the threads/posts on the trading discussion board don't get many or any merits. What I think is that the merit sources aren't much interested to spend their sMerits on those boards and that's why posts/thread don't get many merits on those boards.

However,  in technical discussion, most merit sources merit the posts/threads, but most of the merits are often given to the ones who already have more than 1000 merits. Only a few newbies or low rank members get merits from those boards.

I know the members with 1000 + merits have deep technical knowledge than anyone else and that's why they get those merits. However, if someone who has deep knowledge about trading, and that person may not get required merits for the posts/thread then that's somewhat unfair.

Another reason for few merits on that boards could be the availability of merit sources on that board. Like in gambling board very few merit sources spend their sMerits and that could be the case with that board as well. I believe a good solution would be to appoint merit sources for that board so they could merit the valuable posts/threads.
354  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: buying bitcoin with a creditcard on: April 19, 2024, 09:56:14 AM
Yes, you can purchase BTC internationally with a credit card and there are many platforms that allow purchasing Bitcoin with credit cards. Out of those many platforms, crypto.com may be the best one for purchasing Bitcoin with credit cards.

I believe most centralized exchanges allow purchasing of Bitcoin through credit cards. The following exchanges allow purchasing of Bitcoin with credit cards, CEX.IO, Kraken, Bitpanda, Binance, Bitstamp,  Bitcoin.com and a few others allow purchasing of Bitcoin with credit cards.
355  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: "Jontay Porter receives lifetime ban from NBA for violating gambling rules" on: April 18, 2024, 06:46:59 PM
I think he got what he deserved, it's totally against the rules of game to disclose such confidential information to anyone.

When someone knows about your state of mind, or state of health then that's going to be something which may allow them to use such information for betting purpose these days.

Jontay Porter intentionally disclosed such information and that's something totally unacceptable. I think that lifetime ban from NBA isn't injustice in anyway because such players can do that again.
356  Other / Off-topic / Re: One quote that changed mindsets/peoples mindsets for and to greater heights on: April 18, 2024, 06:04:07 PM
Not bad, you have shared a good quote and then said some good words about Bitcoin and Bitcointalk, and I highly agree with those words. These days like NeuroticFish said, people can easily buy the fruits from supermarket so there's no need to look for the roots, however, Bitcoin and knowledge related to its technicalities isn't like that and that's why I believe you're right that someone who wants to know about Bitcoin and its technicalities then that person should be part of Bitcointalk to learn that knowledge.
357  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Tracking inside of CEXs on: April 18, 2024, 05:56:50 PM
Why you want to track inside a CEX? Even if it's possible to do that then what you want to accomplish by tracking the spot trades of the wallets and withdrawals?

I don't think it's legal to do that unless you're someone from a certified agency, but still if you want to do that then unfortunately there's no public block explorer or tools that allow you to do that.
358  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ways to Appreciate Your Favorite Casino Beyond Playing on: April 18, 2024, 05:49:46 PM
I can't do anything to appreciate my favorite casino beyond playing as my playing on that casino is the best appreciation for them. Because when I continuously play at that casino then the casino might get something from me and that's more than enough for a casino.

Most of the time players lose instead of winning and I believe the lost money of the players is the best appreciation for a casino. I know it seems strange but it's true, because casinos are businesses and if businesses want to service then they need to earn revenue.

When a player lose, the casino get that money, and they survive because of such players. There are very rare cases when someone luck can make them win the house edge of the casinos, but in most cases the player will lose in long term.

Another way, I may appreciate a casino is to discuss about it with my friends and share with them my experience about that casino.
359  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Selling BTC for foreign currencies on: April 18, 2024, 05:39:52 PM
If that foreign country which you're going to visit allows p2p traders to trade crypto then you can possibly do that. In order to convert your Bitcoin to that foreign country's currency, you'll need to first deposit your Bitcoin to a p2p exchange that you trust.

You should also have a solution to receive that foreign currency. You may either have a bank account in that country, or a digital banking solution to receive the fiat currency of that country. Then at that p2p exchange you may sell your BTC for that country's fiat currency.

It's going to be better if you first convert your BTC at that p2p exchange to stable coin like USDT and then do p2p trading to convert it into the fiat currency of that country and receive it in the bank account or digital banking solution of that country.
360  Economy / Economics / Re: The collapse of central banks...Inevitable? on: April 18, 2024, 05:28:40 PM
If the global economy continues to deteriorate, do you think central banks will collapse? If that happens, it will be the end of Fiat for good. In such a scenario, do you think Bitcoin will become the currency of the world?
First of all, I don't think that global economy will deteriorate anytime soon and even if that happens the central banks won't collapse. I know that in some conditions the central banks of few countries may collapse but that won't impact the global economy by any means.

The fiat system has been present for a long time and it won't end anytime soon either. I know that most people who see devolution want to give up on that fiat system but it's not an easy thing as that system is the most dominant system of this time and that's why it won't end soon.

Even if fiat system ends, then still I doubt that the world may accept Bitcoin as the international currency. I know that in most cases Bitcoin could be a great reserve currency but I don't think that it would be ever accepted as international currency like US Dollar.
