Noob Question - How do I download the update without sending the coins to an exchange, deleting the wallet and then installing?
Just download and run the installer v2.49.08 - BACKUP WALLET.DAT FIRST! Dan

You should be getting about 50% of that, due to the litecoinx shares not included Dan

How can I install the XC TOR Stick to usb stick so that it is bootable?
you need to make a bootable USB drive with the tor stick Image and then boot your pc from the USB you can then choose if you want to instal the OS in the system or just go in as a trial. if you go in as a trial every time you will need to downoload the whole blockchain of the wallet again. I would intall it so in a partition or a second HD of your system. The OS in the torstick is LUBUNTU and it will start automatically TOR and the XC app on your Boot each time How large stick do I need for all the block chain data? Currently 8GB would work, but I would suggest a 16GB stick, the ISO has about 70% of the blockchain already downloaded, an updated ISO is coming this week and then the tor sticks will ship Dan

If I have a backup of my wallet.dat, do I need to make another one when I install a newer version of the wallet? Or is one .dat file compatible across all versions?
Yes it is compatible... however new private keys are created when using private transactions. so you will want to maintain a current backup at all times

I was trying to use COIN CONTROL, and send some coins in a "PRIVACY mode" transaction Coinz went out from a totally different address , not from those I've selected in "coin control"
Why? Can't these 2 things ("coin control" & "PRIVACY mode") be used together?
Not in this release but it is on the list of things to do.

Question:
I want to update my wallet, do i just download the latest version and copy the new xcurrency-qt.exe file over to my folder (on windows 7).
The latest versions come in an installer. All you need to do is download it and install it in your old directory. As a precaution, you should always backup your wallet.dat file before upgrading though just in case.... Yes you should always maintain a backup of your wallet.dat and due to the nature of private transactions, you need to backup regular. An updated wallet with a backup function is in the works currently

Let me see if i understand this correctly, there will be some day in the future that every XC holder can get (not buy) shares in XC inc. In the period before everybody has a choice to buy XC inc shares directly or by buying XC before that moment & receive them for free
What i want to know is whats happens after that day? Am i free to spend/trade that 10 XC but can i keep my XC inc share? If so, isn't there a big risk many outsiders will choice option b, drive the price up, only to dump a day later?
My current thinking is that if you spend/trade your XC, then you loose your share's. Dan Thats makes a lot of sense & will prevent all kinds of possible problems. But how you can keep XC inc completely seperate from XCurrency (in a legal sense) & at the same time use some tech to realise that link will probably require a 3th party. Collaberation with other coins/contract suppliers makes more sense now, thanks Very good point with valid concerns, which is why nothing is etched in stone at this point and everything is open for discussion. I'd like to get as much feedback as possible on this issue in the forum or please contact me via XChat or email. Dan

I seem to not get more than 8 connections for some reason, how do I fix this?
Can anybody help me? If your using UNPNP then I believe this is the default setting, you can use -maxconnections=64 via startup (in your ,.conf file just use maxconnections=64) and configure your router to forward the port to your wallet IP address Dan Where can I find my config file? it isn't in my appdata. By default you, don't need one with XCurrency. You can create one and just put "maxconnections=64" no quotes Thanks. Did you read my PM btw? Yes, those items were added to the list, thank you :-)

Thx Always on point.. I did not know that there was a close group of testers before the release either.. and I think that seeing the scope of this tek hick ups are to be expected in the beginning.
There is NO OTHER coin that takes privacy to this level, the decentralized trustless solution is far more complex than anything else available today - Your not just mixing with a single xnode, your mixing across an adhoc mesh network of xnodes[both autonodes and real users] at the same time.. So the complexities of the system have brought up some issues, which are being resolved in the next update Dan
