In as much as the media plays a critical role in raising awareness they can also be the reason for the down fall for cryptos especially if they don't do their research nor understand how crypto works.
But I agree with OP they media has an important role to play in all this.

My worst nightmare on gambling is that when the time I deposit a quite huge amount money in a gambling sites. And I lost all of them, eversince I never play again because I learned from my mistake that no matter what luck you havev, skill and even experience is futile because it is impossible for you to win there.
I think the worst part for any gambler is being on a good run and later becoming greedy and losing all you have won trying to win more, but good thing is we learn to become less greedy from the experience. And I can relate to your situation because I have gone through this before and we all get to wish we never gambled.

The probably with crytpo is we have to many proclaimed experts and its difficult to pick out the most authentic trading advice because at the end of it all they have no proof of successful trading to show they are not just talking from without but actually making some money too.

I like to think of bitcoin to be a 3rd generation currency and the only time it is likely to be phased out is when it we have a new currency to displace the current digital currencies but since this is a new tech this is likely to be around for more than 5 decades, maybe a century who knows... ![Tongue](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/tongue.gif)

bitcoin price now is under 7000 it will go under 5000 it is real or FUD..who is manipulate this market...
I do not think it will go this low because any thing below 6000 dollars will trigger massive buys and for your information bitcoin is already rebounding from the dramatic drop, just hope the momentum doesn't stop now.

If i'm looking to make my first crypto purchase, which one would you suggest buying and why? I love ETH because it's established but still not as expensive as BTC, but I also am hearing about TRX (TRON) nonstop...
If lets say I have $500 to start with, what should I buy and why?
I think you are better off buying eth because the coin is established and known by many crypto users which means it has a ready market as compared to tron which is something am hearing for the first time but if you don't mind you can invest in both to diversify your portfolio.

I agree with the OP we have to adapt to this new trend by avoiding moving and reacting with how the price is moving on a daily basis...the best strategy is buy and hodl this way there is less panic, you get to be less exposed to FUD and panic and get to live a happy stress free life.

By now you should know that potential activity means nothing since the introduction of the merit system which was introduced to improve post quality from forum members and as a side benefit reduce account sales" My advice lock this thread now.

I think bitcoin because it does reduce unemployment and knowing many young people are interested in technology it means the blockchain did come at the right time and the young generation gets to do what they like and earn some money at the same time.

It can't happen since BTC is here from the beginning, or maybe in a few decades so it's easy to see it coming.
It could happen if money from btc is moved to another altcoin and the marketcap will show this development which means bitcoin will be displaced from its number one spot but having being on the market the longest I would want to see bitcoin go all the way as the king.

The most important factors are:
1. Concepts 2. Team 3. Whitepaper 4. Increased Capital
Always do research on an ICO before investing and do not forget to invest your funds for your funds are ready to disappear means do not use the important money and money that you really need.
Thanks for the advice but you know one problem I find about this investment guide Very few of these ico projects have the actual product running after funds have been raised especially if it involves real life interactions with people and because ICOs have no proper regulations these guys can pretty much go Scott free 😥

So all these ltc developments are as a result of bitpay not accepting litecoin payments ![Roll Eyes](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif) Btw i wonder why litecoin isn't supported by bitpay...anyway a new competitor is born and if this litepay project proves to provide fast payments and becomes popular I see this technology expanding to Bitcoin.

man where are you looking? Bitcoin is 10 times more than you wrote, Ethereum is slightly over $500 as we speak. You should double check your info before posting ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Was so surprised to see the bitcoin price so low but am sure OP just left out a zero when typing it and for Ethereum prices after that massive eth sale have not yet recovered but I would like to know where is it trading as high as $650 might be a good exchange to trade other altcoins ??

Bitcoin continues to be pounded by negative news. Unconfirmed reports about Twitter following the footsteps of Facebook and Google in banning cryptocurrency ads pushed Bitcoin’s price below $8,000 on March 18.
I would like to think its because of the laws of where these companies are physically located ( the usa) and banning some of these crypto advertisements is a way to avoid any legal pressings which they could be affected by should one of the citizens invest in some ico that is advertised through their services and turns out to be a ponzi.

You cant guarantee safety of a wallet if you use and hodl bitcoin on the same computer but as far as I know blockchain.info is among the well known online wallets and you could start from there.

We shouldn't recommend coinmarketcap.com to anyone. They are still advertising ponzis on their site. They should know better! No respect for us or newbies at all. Right now I find this garbage site in banner at top: https://profitablemorrows.com/As far as I am concerned they use Google Ads for advertisement, so, if you want to blame someone, blame Google Ads. I don't think coinmarketcap wastes it's time verifing all the ads that display on their website. You right I haven't paid much attention to their ads because when I visit this site its for specific data only.
Op trying using an adblocker if you still trying to avoid these ponzi projects but still want to use coinmarketcap, hope it helps

Usually I go with icoratings when it comes to finding a good ico but don't take their word for it as its our due diligence to see the project stands out and passes to be a good ico of the month.
