341  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin vs Taxes on: July 19, 2017, 02:58:50 PM
Most of countries consider Bitcoin as an asset or intangible property ( as by IRS ). Bitcoin's treatment as an asset makes the tax implication clear. However, taxation on bitcoins and its reporting is not as simple as it seems. For starters, it is difficult to determine the fair value of the bitcoin on purchase and sale transactions. Frequent traders and investors could use "first in, first out" (FIFO) or "last in, first out" (LIFO) accounting techniques to reduce tax obligations.

Well it's complicated but I think the best way to include taxes on Bitcoin transactions would be to add them up to the miner fees and charge them per each transaction that moves over the blockchain but I don't know how practical this could be since we are all not living in the same country and our laws regarding taxes might vary.
Miner fees are much better than taxes. As you know government taxes are more than miner fees. So it is better that bitcoin is taking fees on transactions etc by miners. I would prefer that miner’s fees are much better than taxes. Taxes would decrease the demand of bitcoin in a market. If there is no demand how bitcoin will run?

Taxes would in no way affects miner fees as they are both independent while an indivudal is earning bitcoin for his job or activities or even sale, the miner is collecting his own fees for making the transaction possible so in the case of tax, both of them will be taxed because they are both generating income. For those whose countries have taken a position, there is really no way out of it but for countries like mine, we just need to keep hoping the decision is not taken any time soon in to keep enjoying our interest free investment.
342  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Has anyone ever tried medicine to control impulsive gambling? on: July 19, 2017, 12:33:02 PM
Whether anti-depressants or not, I believe that would be for someone who is going through rehabilitation as a result of gambling but aside that, I don't see why any one should not be able to control himself/herself in gambling. For me, I have not met someone who uses medicine to curb gambling neither do I as well. I go with gambling to win and when I lose I move on. Its a purposeful adventure to me.
343  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Target Coin - World's FIRST And ONLY Bonus Paying Crypto Fund on: July 19, 2017, 09:57:45 AM
I have a suggestion(it might sound stupid).
Would it be nice if the people involved in the sig campaign and twitter campaign receive their revenue in target coins(if they want to).I`m not sure if this is possible, but i would be a nice option for the people involved in promoting Target coin to directly invest their earnings into this awesome project.

This is actually a good suggestion and I think answers has been provided to it but it also come with its own deficiencies in the sense that when there is too much Target coin in circulation, immediately after the distribution and listing, people tends to dump which might lead price crashing for a developing project, it might no longer live up to expectation due to that singular act but if it can ensure to be released into the market on a gradual basis without flooding, then its a good idea.
344  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: is bitcoin wallet based company is going to close or it will safe.. on: July 19, 2017, 09:14:18 AM
Hi experts,

i am storing 10 BTC IN MY ZEBPAY bitcoin wallet. two days back i received one message like please store ur coins into paper wallet  or offline wallet.
so is it means the company is going to shutdown or what happening..iam in confusion ..
can anyone have idea about Zebpay..please share with me..

If I am the one, I wont even wait for the message to come before saving the money in a paper wallet not to talk about being informed about it yet you are asking whether you should do it or not, with all the discussions around the forum for a couple of days now if not weeks, everyone knows the right thing to do even if you have 0.01 btc, you just have to keep it where you have control with the August 1 knocking on our doors not to talk of 10btc which is a whole lot of money.
345  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: How Long Does Liqui.io Take To Touch A Support Ticket Usually? on: July 18, 2017, 09:07:22 PM
Hey dudes, Green here. Anyone have experience with getting issues resolved on the liqui.io platform? I did a dumb thing with a deposit and sent a ticket to support a few days ago, but I havent even gotten an initial response. Nor have I gotten a response from the telegram support agent, or by PMing Liqui's account here on the forum. Its about 4 hours shy of 6 days since I sent the ticket with no response Sad was going to wait a week, but meh, whats a day at this point, LOL Cheesy

i sent eth to an adx address, btw  Cry the withdrawal page is indicating to me that im probably not going to get my money back, the warning is clearly posted, but I was hoping someone would do me a solid and simply move the funds to my account balance, the proper wallet, or return them to me (its 1.5 eth). I figure they have the keys to their wallets, I hope so at least, LOL, so it should be a relatively easy function for an admin to execute. I want to see if they keep the funds simply because they can; truth be told I dont have recourse, I didnt heed the warning Sad well, in time at least. kids, turn autocomplete off, dont do what I did Wink

To their credit, the funds are still sitting in the token wallet, unmoved. they dont seem to have a sweep/ hotwallet forwarding daemon for the token wallets. i legitimately think they simply havent gotten to me yet, but we will see how this turns out.

so the question was, is this normal for liqui? site says typical 24 hour turnaround, almost at a week now. is this par for the course, or am I being ignored?

You obviously saw the warnings but either by omission or error the mistake happen in which I feel that's what they saw and decide to ignore your claim and focus more on others that have some more pertinent issues. The only thing you can do here is to wait until they find a reason to answer you and because its not a fault on their own part but yours. Hopefully you get your money back when they respond.
346  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will bitcoin eventually kill Altcoin? on: July 18, 2017, 07:45:32 PM
I don't see bitcoin killing altcoin because its what make the crypto currency interesting. If we have no Alts, then there is no need to trade which will then mean we there will be nothing to act as push or pull for the price of bitcoin. Aside that, I see enormous pressure if bitcoin is the only crypto currency which I doubt bitcoin will be able to handle couple with the new alts coming in every day as much as one is going down, several is taking over.
347  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Investing in ICOs... is it possible to profit? on: July 18, 2017, 06:12:12 PM
After reading about ICO investment I got all excited about popping a few quid here and there into some good looking ICOs and then turning nice, Porsche buying profits in a few months time...

After reading this read https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1530158.0 I was feeling less sure...

Is it really possible to come out on top with ICO investment? And if so.. how!?'

Or am I just delusional and being drawn in by the nectar of the ICO Venus fly trap...?

Its very much possible only if you do it right with proper understanding because not every one with great team or nice precedence will turn out well like the coindash recently and also wish luck is on your side. If there is no way to make profit, there wont be any ICOs coming out every now and then because no one will invest them. The bottom line is that anything you want to put money, be sure to do it intelligently.
348  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I'm panicking, tell me it will be OK... on: July 18, 2017, 05:22:15 PM
For I would say its normal to panic even the best of us panic, I did too at some point but what really matter is did we allow that panicking to get to us thereby making a rash decision in which you get to blame yourself eventually as to why didn't you wait a little bit and that's exactly ehat will be going on in the mind of many while those who bought will be rejoicing that they made the right decision. In conclusion, it will not always be rosy but at the end, everything will be Ok.
349  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What should I do? on: July 18, 2017, 02:17:48 PM
I leave many of my BTC in trading wallet,
Why?
Trading platform would do the home works to
Find best solution.

I dont know to avoid forking with which wallet Smiley

This would be an easy way out but at the same time not the best way out even me myself I wanted to take the back seat in this by concluding that after all, I wont be the only person affected but then realise that I will only be responsible for myself and not any one else couple with various warnings on the forum and even from the bitcoin website which suggested otherwise. Its better to be safe then move it back than to lose a whole lot of money due to being lackadaisical about things like this.
350  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: You lose only if you sell on: July 18, 2017, 12:47:53 PM
Absolutely right, you only lose if you sold it at lower price.. Unless you gain profit why not, but if you feel that this is not the right time yet to sell those coins because of some news you heard without solidity or solid proof then its up to you to keep it or sell it. Profit is still profit and yet it is still your choice to make in the end.

Losing is actually a relative term because for those who sold at $1800+ because they are scared price might go further low but they bought at 2000+ then I would say that is a loss but not for someone who bought in the era of 700$ and was scared if the price will go back to what he bought so he decided to go with the less massive of massive profit he has made then that is not a loss for him in any way.
351  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Buy now... or on July 31st? on: July 18, 2017, 11:19:30 AM
It was late, the price is pumping again. And for sure the price of bitcoin before the end of the month will be up again. This is my opinion and I have no assurance for it, we dont know whats going to happen.

The issue about bitcoin is that it is never late to buy and even the pumping we are seeing now, there is no guarantee that it will be sustained till the end of the month when the speculation and the panics would have reached the highest level. If on the other hand the price is being sustained on the increasing front, then I would say the price as at now is the lowest we can get until further notice. So, anyone who is still contemplating buying low, now is the time to do that.
352  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Where are those hardcore ETH believers now? on: July 18, 2017, 09:34:31 AM
Bitcoin price is expected to crash while August 1st is coming. Aside from that, when Etherium shines the stage with it's unbelievable high price, I see many post about Etherium will replaced bitcoin etc.

Now that bitcoin price is crashing, where are those Etherium enthusiast now that I should expect to transfer with this crypto? Show your support and buy at the dips of Etherium. Or just afraid that Etherium also suffers red lines?

People who think ETH will replace BTC are just by passers who just wants to create unnecessary heating of the polity without any basis. The moment the situation of things becomes favourable for ETH, they make the noise, or when the situation became unfavourable like the price crash witnessed now, they also shout unknowingly to them that its just temporary and you don't get to see them when thing starts to take shape all over again and that is why there are scanty of those threads around.
353  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think Coindash is a biggest scam? on: July 18, 2017, 08:59:52 AM
The team of Coindash say that the ICO website was attacked yesterday
what do you think about this?
do you think this project have opportunity to develop?
the dog shit team!!!

Whether they admit to it or not, the fact remains that it has turn to scam and that is what we have in our hands. Although, it is really hard to believe that even ICOs that are not as having a team strong as CoinDash was able to make it successfully but I don't see it as the biggest in the industry because the effect is not even obvious in the scheme of things currently or because of the influence of August 1 has overshadowed any negative happenings.
354  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: COINDASH Website HACKED - Don't Invest!!!!!!!!!!!! on: July 17, 2017, 04:50:13 PM
This is so serious to deal with at this time when the market is still trying to adjust to the issue of August 1 then this people are coming with this again. In as much as I am not sure its an insider job, but I still feel this people should be made to be accountable for their negligence and if they are found guilty of compromising then they should face the full wrath of the law. Imagine the amount of life savings that have gone down the drain.
355  Economy / Speculation / Re: Beanie babies/Bitcoin bag holders be like: on: July 17, 2017, 03:28:37 PM
First shoots of recovery popping through now, back above $2000. I don't think there will be further epic collapsing as some predict.

Thats what people are failing to realize with this news that has filtered the air waves concerning Segtwit and I would be worried if price didnt drop  because of the uncertainty surrounding the current and events that will be happening. Aside that, I have looked at the price and discovered that the reason for the panics is because we all get used to increase in price and not the other way round and the earlier we realize that much of what eventually happens to price depends on us.
356  Economy / Speculation / Re: You should by Buying BTC NOT Dumping it! SMH on: July 17, 2017, 12:45:33 PM
It's hilarious to me that finally the price of Bitcoin is sub-$2000 after being at an All-Time-High, and people are dumping their coins instead of BUYING.

You shouldn't be selling your Bitcoin AT ALL, and acquiring as much as possible, you want to know why?

Because if there is a Hard Fork and a new Blockchain is created with Segwit activation, you will end up with FREE SEGWIT BTC. That's right, you will still have your Bitcoins PLUS the new Segwit coins on the new blockchain. If you have 10 BTC, you will have 10 BTC + 10 Segwit BTC. So if you were smart you would be acquiring as much Bitcoin as possible, especially while it is cheap, before the Hard fork.

That is my opinion.

Thats true and your opinion is right based on the assumption that there will be a split eventually but the split cannot be confirmed that it will happen as even the bitcoin website had to put a disclaimer in the release that was made recently that split MAY happen. Also, I think buying bitcoin now is actually the best thing to do because I am optimistic that after Segwit's activation, we might not see price down to this again which means the opportunity is gone.
357  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do you deal with stress? on: July 17, 2017, 11:14:33 AM
I got into altcoin trading just recently, a week or so ago.
Honestly I never dealt with exchanges before and this is all new to me but it's both fun and very stressful. I'm not a big time player, in fact I started out with nothing and just mined some Hush, sold that and bought ARK/Waves/Shift/Espers. I own maybe $500 worth of coins right now lol, but I plan to increase this.
However stress is getting to me. I keep checking the prices, trying to buy low and sell high and I do that at work now as well and even dream about it. I dreamed Espers was getting pumped and my exchange closed Espers trading and I woke up all pissed off and sweaty and cursing the non existent exchange.
I'm not very interested in the tehnology I just want to trade as I find that a lot of fun. But I need to deal with the stress somehow Grin
When it comes to crypo trading, you just have to be on top of the web page and even refreshing every now and then because the rate at which price changes is something that one could end up making loss just by not being timely. But the way to do that is to use bots but you need to understand and study it very well as it could also be an haphazard decision to make but it will save you the stress of having to check the direction of price every time.
358  Economy / Speculation / Re: Every online coin is dropping like Crazy today on the charts what happened? on: July 16, 2017, 08:27:58 PM
http://coinmarketcap.com/
As high as 29% on some CryptoCurrency just today alone.

BTC dropping? I always say what goes up too quickly will drop just as fast.

BTC is not stable at all from the chart on the last 30 days. From $2800 to $1850 low today?  Poor guy too anyone who had 100 BTC. Just lost $100k in the last 30 days.

~G~

The issue here is that while BTC is independent of all other alts, the alts are not independent of BTC and thats why the pump and dump happening for alt is not in anyway affecting BTC but the reverse is the case when it comes to BTC and just again to solidify the dominance of bitcoin in the crypto world that no matter how they try btc will still be leading while others follow.
359  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: HELP: Banksters are conquering Uruguay. This could be the beginning of the End. on: July 16, 2017, 07:05:36 PM
This is really unfortunate on how government have turn into by forcing everyone against their will and thats what they are doing. But with adequate check and balances, I dont think that will stand only if you have a weak opposition as well as judiciary. But at the same time there is no way government can control cash because it would mean embarking on a futile exercise because how do they now stop those coming from the rural areas who dont even knows how the banking system works from carrying out their transactions?
360  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why does every single BTC exchange suck?! on: July 16, 2017, 12:44:00 PM
It's not helping anything that transactions have become slow and expensive, but on top of that every single exchange I've used ( Coinbase, Kraken, Bitstamp, and Localbitcoins.com) have massive flaws and limitations that in my opinion are damaging BTC's progress in a big way.

Coinbase is the only exchange who's got a nice set up, easy to use and just makes sense (plus an app worth a damn).  However they crash far too often to be considered legitimate in my eyes (website is down for hours with billions of dollars in limbo).  I work in the financial industry and love BTC, the blockchain tech, other crypto's and all that they represent but for people who aren't financially or tech savvy...how is this ever going to work ?

I now have two friends in the past couple days who simply could not figure out how to set up an account at any exchange, even Coinbase's easy set up process error'd out for one friend and now they've both given up.  I can't be alone in complete frustration with this joke of a set up.  Bitcoin is supposed to be easy, instant etc. While the banking system is archaic, the exchanges are not much above a DOS program at the moment.

I understand your frustration as I have witnessed such my self in some exchange sites where they just go offline for several hours and without any notification of such to their clients or users. It does not happen in the Fiat world but at the same time not every blames fall on them because they just needs to keep up to date with security mechanism to be put in place to stand attacks against them since every now and then, they are targets of attack which could being a lot of serious issues if that is successful.
