3401  Other / Meta / Re: My topic about bitcoin pool was delete. on: September 17, 2020, 11:32:46 PM
What was the topic about? Did it break any one of these rules? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=703657.0

You may want to post a version without the references to the pool in your post. You might be able to salvage it from bitcointalk.org/?action=drafts
3402  Bitcoin / Electrum / Android: can't delete invoices? on: September 17, 2020, 08:02:19 PM
Haven't filed the issue because I don't know if its just me or not but yesterday I went through all (about 20 invoices) to delete them all and checked my wallet before and they're still there in the send tab?

Anyone else experiencing this on android (im 8.0)
3403  Other / Meta / Re: The captcha for logging in is impossible. on: September 17, 2020, 05:59:03 PM
There's a link at the bottom of the login screen: https://bitcointalk.org/captcha_code.php and get a captcha code..

Any IP information, provided you're not banned, is only stored on the forum for 6 months afaik so if you sign up on clearet and use tor to login beyond that, you'll have only tor ip and your nearest city information stored after 6 months.

There are other ways to get recaptcha to accept you afaik. One of those is to pay for a captcha service to solve it for about a cent or try to move your mouse in natural movements while you have the captcha screen open.

(you could also buy a months subscription of a vpn to register for about $4 afaik) I've just tried solcing a captcha through one and it took 2 attempts (although I missed a bus on the first one).
3404  Other / Meta / Re: Proposal for making these threads sticky in "Beginners & Help" section. on: September 17, 2020, 05:47:01 PM
As much as I'm inclined towards have those thread sticked in the B&H section I'm equally on the negative side of it. I mean there will always be accounts who are lazy enough to not read those threads and create a new thread asking the same question regardless.

Yeah I think a lot are made on the meta section WHERE THOSE THREADS ARE PINNED so I don't think it'd help anything.

So I doubt it'll help here and I'm a bit against stickying threads as I think it can look untidy...
3405  Other / Meta / Re: Suggestion: disable Press board & lock topics unattended by OPs in past months on: September 17, 2020, 02:25:57 PM
Perhaps we should go on to define the difference between a notable source and something that isn't.

A news site in Europe or the US that has a lot of history and traction (ie the BBC, the guardian, the independent etc) could be listed there but other topics maybe not.

I wouldn't be against a "press bot" that scrapes certain sites for a mention of bitcoin or cryptocurrency in the headlines of NOTABLE newspapers and posts the date and headline with the link in the body of the post for users to discuss.
3406  Economy / Economics / Re: Boris is right a second lockdown could cripple UK economy. on: September 17, 2020, 01:57:44 PM
But it's fine for the Cumbrics (Manchester and Yorkshire) to have to go through a month of a lockdown?.

Nimby (not in my back yard) culture has returned then apparently....

So their intent was just to cripple the North... Nice!

Phasing in and out of lockdown might be possible for reducing spread. A month of people socialising like normal followed by a 2 week lockdown (or even people socialising like normal and isolating for 3 days afterwards)...
3407  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Buying coin..? on: September 17, 2020, 01:37:42 AM
However long the bank payment takes to process.

For me it's virtually instant but I'm in the UK so I can't say fir the US. You could check your bank account or phone the bank.
3408  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Don't trade if you're inexperience rather stake your coins. on: September 16, 2020, 10:22:26 PM
I had a tiny trade account that had $93 in it i think and I took too much risk (because its my risky part) and brought that down to $7... I have since gone from 7 to 75 so it's getting back near there - it wasn't much to me anyway so I didn't mind running the test, I've changed strategy and put $15 into each position.

Your best bet if you have more than $1000 in crypto, start trading with $5 per trade, rely on as many positive indicators as possible to try to trade continuation patterns if you're able to spot both of these. If not it's fine just to hodl or stake.

As a warning, pick high cap coins to stake - anyone can get burnt with them too if you're not sure on what you're doing.
3409  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] ChipMixer.com - Bitcoin mixer / Bitcoin tumbler - mixing reinvented on: September 16, 2020, 09:55:02 PM
I got one question, do I have to use Electrum wallet, or is using Chipmixer possible with all wallets, desktop wallets as well? I mostly use some brand on desktop.
[/quote

All wallets will work with ChipMixer provided they're using the bitcoin blockchain (eg not binance's bep2 system).

If you can send to an address you can use it. I'd advise caution sending from exchanges like binance and coinbase without going via another wallet or a throwaway account to ensure you're not going to get banned or something. ]
3410  Other / Meta / Re: ban appeal topic on: September 16, 2020, 09:48:26 PM
I guess the post you were banned for has since been deleted?

Can you find any recently deleted messages to try to work out what it was you were banned for?

You can check these too: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=703657.0
3411  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Question about transactions on: September 16, 2020, 06:57:49 PM
Bitcoins sent to an address must be sent from the SAME address in bitcoin.

For privacy, you can receive bitcoins to different addresses but if you send an amount bigger than the largest received amount for a single address, amounts sent to other addresses will then be used to fulfill the transaction.
3412  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Confused with Electrum 4.0.3 Android Version on: September 16, 2020, 05:33:18 PM
I think it's trying to make the window look like the lightning network one so they don't have to design two.

Itll make the qr code expire in wallets that check expiry and the wallet won't expect to be receiving it but it won't change anything...
3413  Other / Meta / Re: Does Vod deserve VIP status? on: September 16, 2020, 04:55:56 PM
random internet hobos
I like it! 2000+ Activity Rank should be "Random Internet Hobo".

I can't remember what is was but there was a rank above "legendary" for 100000 posts (where it just stopped displaying post count).

Thatd be fun... 10000 merit and 10000 activity (10k activity is 27 years though).

And the vip and donator ranks are special, we can't just be handing them out. You should've dm'd Theymos and ask for a "bpip founder" custom text with a link to the bpip.

3414  Other / Meta / Re: Yeah on: September 16, 2020, 04:47:00 PM
Ohh I thought it was on me coz I'm on a English thread then sees it, it's weird when he does that.

I think that user is deliberately doing that for his fellow Vietnamese, but then English is a universal language that everyone should know how to understand, speak and write, even me I'm not an English native speaker. Though it was not a big deal.

I dunno, knowing a non native eruppean or Asian language is probably helpful, I don't like that everyone's learning English because it makes it harder for native English speakers to learn other languages imo.

I don't know if there's a specific policy of using only English on the English parts of the forum but posting both versions if you can use both can sometimes be helpful for disambiguation purposes.
3415  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Need help regarding DAD token on: September 16, 2020, 04:10:38 PM
I don't think I see a mention of eth? https://dad.one/ (first link i saw on duckduckgo).

They have a Facebook and telegram at the bottom of that page so you could probably message them to get a firm answer?
3416  Other / Meta / Like this. on: September 16, 2020, 04:02:18 PM
Have you got a link to the thread?

Topic subjects can be changed to contain whatever someone wants. I just changed mine to "Like this."
3417  Economy / Economics / Re: Internet shutdowns by governments are bad for corporate marketing on: September 16, 2020, 02:29:14 PM
Loss of Internet isn't really good for citizens or companies alike.

And yeah corporations might be affected if they have to export stuff too and the shutdown lasts a while? Unless things are verbally arranged with freight and Air operators.

I think reducing Internet everywhere (including Europe and the US) would also cause a huge loss of company profits, sure the large companies can get TV and Radio adverts but smaller companies might be fully reliant in social media...
3418  Other / Meta / Re: Why did the forum stop supporting images from imgur's http links? on: September 16, 2020, 01:02:03 PM
It's probably imgur that's the problem. Theymos might want to add some code that tries to get both if it's provided as http.

3419  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will bitcoin transaction fees be too high in the future? on: September 16, 2020, 12:49:15 PM
I dunno
1. Older users are used to adapting their fees to paying a lower rate and can consolidate their btc..
2. New users would just get used to it imo if they're not too high, $2 fee on $500 is a bit like PayPal fees.
3420  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Buying coin..? on: September 16, 2020, 12:36:45 PM
Do you have to use a debit card? You pay much less fees using a bank transfer (and have more control over how much they take).

I think I pay about 0.5% in fees when I last bought with coinbase.. (pro.coinbase.com)
