As someone who started to purchase Bitcoin at over 5 USD three years ago and watched it drop to 2 USD I find a certain deja vu regarding my current Monero position.
Bought at $3, watched to drop at $2. Now if I am correct with Monero with my buy / hold / average down strategy
Even if in the end you did not win, the strategy is correct if it is +EV. I'd wager $100k on a coin toss any day if I'd be paid back 300k. The monero position is about the same size  it would not be the first time nor the second time where I have purchased an asset, watched it drop by over 50% held and / or averaged down for huge gains down the road.
Russian stocks 1998: Bought, -75% in 2 weeks, Bought more. (I was about 50% invested, so huge overallocation in an exotic market). IIRC, they gained about 1000% in a year so I also did quite well. |

so when does the online version come out?
Most recent target date stated was 11/30 I think. Yes. It has been changed once, when the online version team got their assignment in order. Originally it was last Sunday. But don't expect that all will magically be transferred. Some elements of the game (building editor comes to mind) will continue to use the "non-online" methods for months. The greatest differences now happening are: - easier character administration (can change their own data and trade without admin). - as a result of the above, unlimited creation of new characters. On IRC you asked about what you get for a house.
1. A property you can resell later, potentially at a profit
2. Higher participation in the labor poll (moneritos paid to you each day) as a resident.
1.& 2. The King sold one house for 260 XMR that according to the public building records was erected at a cost of 104 XMR. Money was not "lost" in building a house since they bring income both when owned and when rented. Of course the land whose value had multiplied since building, paid a part in the equation. 3. Also owning a (certain type) of house is a minimum requirement for promotion from L3 (currently) or to L3 (in online version). |

The building restrictions are strictly adhered to
The town architects reviewed the plans and humbly pointed out that: - the entrance level restaurant/club is too risky to be windowless. Our methods of lighting cannot make it but barely bearable. Opening a row of windows to the south gallery room is risk free and with thick curtains the club can be sealed dark upon need, but not doomed to be dark when not needed. - stained glass has just entered the Kingdom, and could be used at a surcharge of 550,000 m/sqm. Perhaps it fits in parts of the windows, maybe the top parts. luxury rate of 190%
Now this is impressive. We have a committed defenders against barbarians who are even more after our city now  second only to HM's own living arrangements
What the King can comfortably spare for the head of a visiting retinue is <100 sqm. So second only is starting to feel a courtesy word here.. |

CK Building Editor / Admin Guide tab has a new, updated Building Cost Calculator. The previous one served a full 50 years!
This is mandatory reading for everyone who designs buildings, and all admins of course who approve them. Changes in costing: - Door and staircases are now clearly in different rows according to their quality. The price of carpentry has slightly increased. - The labor related to windows is not imported anymore and benefits the local economy. Stained glass windows can now be used. - Gilding is directly supported. - High arch up to 12 m and cupola are now possible, given appropriate structural design. - Architect and building inspector fees automatically calculated. - Luxuries support local economy by 55% instead of 50% before. - Gives direct inputs to both City Map /BUILDING REGISTRY tab and Characters / T_MON & N_STONE without need for intermediate calculations. Yeah, the "point of maximum pain" is already reached, and many have (not) taken it and sold. The others are seeing their old coins as a sunken cost and making new plans for new acquisitions at levels they previously could not imagine.
Like I did not think in June that the 0.0015 wall would ever be needed to rise, much less that it would fill.
I'm sorry ... I disagree. I know you've been optimistic all the way down from .004 but I just think the emission, anon coin bear market, the large botnets who run the majority of the mining ... it could prop up for a month or two for current investors getting more. But then continue downward to .001 or less. I think what we're seeing is one whale buying other whales sell orders. The miners will continue to overcome those small fry people who are accumulating with the emission curve for a few more months (IMO). If / when they run out of ammo before getting more people on board I think we could see a massive dump down into the 0007 - 0009 range. Maybe I'm dreaming ... but if that happens I'll be picking more up. For now my real world fiat needs are getting taken care of. Ah, actually we agree. I referred "the point of maximum pain" as emotionally, not that the lowest price had been reached. What I mean is that (imo) hardly anyone is emotionally attached to the uptrend anymore, and could not (and would not) feel any worse if it goes to 0.001, even though the (as big) slides from 0.0045->0.003, 0.003->0.002 or 0.00225->0.0015 felt very nasty. Now if it indeed drops to 0.00075, I don't believe people will feel like jumping the bridge, which they definitely would have felt at 0.004 if presented with 0.002 (and when it did happen). When price is not going our way, we stick to the fundamentals. Everyone would like GUI, DB, and emission to be fixed, but while they aren't, there is still no viable alternative in the privacy coin segment. If there was, then Monero would have a hard time. Now that the price is having a hard time is just something we have to take as a fact, and act accordingly, buy, sell or hold. Unlike in previous times, there is now great money to be made in Monero. Percentage moves are large and volume is there. Situation is good for those who have any assets outside their XMR bag currently. |

We have decided that the current perimeter will suffice until the Centennary Jubilee, and during the remaining years it will be quite tightly built. The threat of barbarian invasion looms constantly. Every 2 years, a die is thrown, with 6.25% chance of invasion happening. This threat will go away only at the close of the Centennary Jubilee. When the hordes appear, we only have 2 years to make the final preparations, and then it's the time for battles. The influx of gold to the royal coffers will be hampered or stop altogether. Staking of stone as well. There will be great costs for raising an army of peasants to fight on the countryside, borne by His Majesty who is the Lord of all the lands apart from the capital. If this does not stop them, the die will decide if the city walls can be held. In this case there will be lots of medals granted to fearless Commanding Officers of our troops. If a breach in the wall is made, we can still fight in the city, but that will be not only bloody but also very costly due to our beautiful and luxurious buildings. If this happens, an online conference in IRC will be summoned and we must decide whether to ransom away the barbarians or let them loot the city. The die will decide the amount of the gold ransom asked. If we can find the payers, very good. If not, the city is sacked and all the great buildings will be stripped of their luxuries, and this deficit marked in the BUILDING REGISTRY. If the luxury level is not repaired in due time, the buildings will stay permanently in the lower level. The importance of Citadel is twofold. Maximum 200k until sold out (price per stone 250 m). - The proceeds will be used for defence improvements and maintenance of the soldiers. - When hopefully stone is some day left unsold, it will be earmarked for building the Citadel. It is fitting to announce this good news, although it does not relate to the Jubilee per se: A few years ago, the Town was selling land in the C chapelry and promised that 10% of the proceeds will be raffled out to one character. We raised 2,200,000,000 m from this land, so a cool 220,000,000 m is now raffled out.... .....and the winner is: Lord Karl. Congratulations! Lord Karl has been the largest buyer of these lands, so it is Lady Fortuna's joke to refund him such handsomely. The new admins should be taking their positions very quickly. there are plenty of bleep coins with beautiful wallets and their marketcaps are below 1 million usd.
A low market cap does not make a coin desirable. The contrary, actually. If any of the other CN coins would take over XMR marketcap, then it would be really bad. I can't see it happening though since their community is smaller, and all the devs are in XMR. Just stated the fact. Taking over DRK would indeed be a good thing. Regardless of what is decided concerning the emission, I am staying with XMR. The fundamentals are still on its side, since there are no serious contenders in the true privacy niche. The price is so cheap that buying more starts to be a real option Investing 1% more of my wealth to XMR at these prices is quite many coins  |

Citadel has been under construction for 25 years, and still does not have much except the bases of the outside wall (outside wall is intended to be 10 m and is now 6 m high, in addition we need the garrisons, etc. and the central castle. As should be known to those in the hospitality industry, the hotels need a licence to operate. This should ensure their profitability. The current city area is beginning to feel crowded, but we are so afraid of barbarians that we are thinking to not increase the area until in the online version after the centennary Jubilee. If this will cause the price of land to increase, at least our Majesty is not among the beneficiaries, since we have practically no land left for sale. This can be ascertained from the City Map/Land Grab tab. Please if you feel you can do without a certain piece of land, list it for sale via smooth's RE agency. Building regulationsMany have felt that in the "Cathedral quarter" the buildings should rise to maximum height of 16 m due to the Cathedral towers being 17 m. So now be it official. The max height in everywhere else is technically 20 m. I can't recall any structure being that high, except the Royal Palace tower, and the ( topmost parts of the) planned Luigi's shopping centre in the opposite side of the square. And yes the obelisk that has a 4 m high pedestal, plus the construction of 17 m, with the total height of 21 m.

Due to Monero's slide, it's become smaller and smaller percent of my portfolio, and I am only one of the quite many (some of whom I know, some of whose existence I know without knowing the identity) people who make calculated bets with Monero. It's even frustrating to be one (or even The) main cheerleader, when bigger players exist in the shadows and sidelines. So yes, it is still in whale hands. Bagholder-whale hands Time to rebalance that portfolio, don't ya think? Something a la The Permanent Portfolio (Harry Browne)? Buy more XMR?
