yeah maybe , that's why I'm surprised cause one of the mods told me that in the past when I had a decent amount of btc invested that made my faucet really good so asked the mods and they told me it's ok since the faucet is considered as a VIP reward in cryptogames

My first thought was that it might be multi accounting. But I just had a quick check in the ToS and it might be related to the number of times you can withdraw faucet winnings.

8.3. Continuous withdrawing of earnings from faucet is forbidden and leads to your account being blocked.

and from the faq:

Can I play for free?
You can play for free with the built-in faucet (reward system). The purpose of the faucet is to test the available games with zero risk prior to depositing. The number of faucet requests available every 24 hours depends on your player level with up to 60 requests available for the highest level players. If you want to continue playing, PlayMoney can be used without a faucet request limit. Faucet abuse leads to account block. Continuous withdrawing of earnings from faucet is forbidden and leads to your account being blocked.

hmmm as I remember I was told that players can play with faucet in cryptogames since it has a level system so every player does earn his faucet
there is no point in offering faucet levels in case players can't cash out the winnings , so if that's the case they better remove the faucet for good

They can withdraw faucet winnings if they don't deposit, I've seen many do it in the chatroom. They might be jumping to conclusions as they may have been blocked for an unrelated breach of the ToS.

My User ID is : 1889536

Thanks a lot

That transaction doesn't have 400 confirms it is a double spend. https://btc.com/08ab649f63fcbb202c8eec4638037f5d79d9ce65540b190dd87830545bca593c
It will probably take 14 days for our node to remove it from it's mempool then the pending Tx will not be displayed anymore.

Can I ask a silly question? Well, I am.... How does this increase the bankroll, if those coins are inaccessible to you to distribute? Or do you use it without the users permission and if he or she regain control of that account, then you credit the account again? I seem to be missing the point here. Huh

I know those coins are not actual coins, but just a entry in your internal ledger.  Roll Eyes

They are actual coins held in our hot and cold wallets. If someone withdrew them they wouldn't be there anymore. Whether or not an individual account with a balance is active or not isn't important but the overall size of the bankroll is.

The point of the bankroll is that we have coins available to payout if a high roller gets lucky. The maximum win is set to be a tiny fraction of the total bankroll so if someone wins it, even a few times in a row, we can payout without suffering a noticeable decrease in that bankroll. Over time the house will recover that amount when others come along and lose. So the bigger the bankroll the bigger buffer you have against a big winner. We don't "use it without the users permission" it's all just part of the big pot. Inactive accounts abandoned with balances make that pot bigger.

Yes jackg, if or when the site ever shuts down is the only time we'll ever know how much belongs to people that will come and collect it and how much is people that don't even remember having an account.
3425  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will atomic swaps replace crypto currency exchanges? on: June 06, 2018, 03:31:23 PM
I personally don't think it will replace exchanges per se, but both will coexist. If I'm not wrong, atomic swaps are pretty instant; hence missing the feature of putting up buy/sell offers on specific prices, stop orders, and such. Pretty much the order types that are present on exchanges.

Not 100% sure. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I'm not 100% sure either but I think atomic swaps need a blockchain transaction so wouldn't be instant. I would see it as being used for p2p exchange by people that have a specific need for another currency. Exchanges would still be used by traders looking to profit from market movements.
3426  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: FreeBitco.in - Win free Bitcoins every hour! on: June 06, 2018, 02:57:03 PM
Furthermore the spent you highligthed refers to the amount with which lottery tickets were purchased so I think "spent" is the correct term.

It's playing with semantics but it is still a wager even if it is a very long odds one. That's not really the point I was getting at. As a personal preference if I was doing this I would prefer to do it with a low multiplier on dice as that would greatly increase my chances of not losing the stake.* That's why I feel the using the term spent is misleading, you don't have to spend (lose the wager) to increase the base reward.

3427  Other / Meta / Re: The Bitcointalk 50 BTC VIP club. Where are they now ? Complete list. on: June 06, 2018, 01:19:43 PM
No they didn't change their names. They may have been omitted from the list by oversight. They don't appear on the later list either.

OK, so another theory. Maybe they didn't donate 50 BTC but were gifted the VIP status because of their contribution to Bitcoin and the forum.
3428  Other / Meta / Re: Stake your Bitcoin address here on: June 06, 2018, 01:13:03 PM
Quoted and verified. I always find it strange when an account registered in 2013 is only just getting around to staking an address. Interesting that all your post in 2013/4 were in Chinese but then when the account woke up in 2017 they are all in English.
wow I see what you did there!!!
Do you think English is easy to learn? It took 2 years from 2015-2017 to learn... now don’t you dare to ask which institute.

I know how hard learning a foreign language is, I'm particularly bad at it. When an account here went inactive before the 2015 hack and database leek and then wakes up exclusively posting in another language more than 3 years later, it's worth pointing out. Admin would require a signed message from an address posted in that accounts first life to prove it is the original owner.

@Jet Cash

If you know so much, If you think they're right they say , if you trust yourself ;

Create a zero account and win 900+ Merits... Do this and prove to me 80 merit sources they are doing their job properly... But you can't... You already know that

I do not think to write anything more and I give thanks to friends who help and direct

He already did an experiment to see what it was like starting from the beginning again. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1977706

900+ merits should take a long time to earn, that's nearly 3 years on the old activity system

There are plenty of new members that have been ranking up to prove that it is possible under the new system. I managed to rank up from Sr to Hero pretty quickly.

You would have done better to heed his advice about what makes your posts look like the sort of thing a merit source like him just wants to skip over.

There are a few missing. For example, where is:

Mt.Gox Support
MagicalTux

edit: Forgot Hal Finney Shocked

Not on the list for some reason. https://bitcointalk.org/donate.html

Did they change their names after donating?
3431  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: FreeBitco.in - Win free Bitcoins every hour! on: June 06, 2018, 12:53:08 PM
In the end this means you would have to spent either 70% of the amount earned from free rolls on lottery tickets or wager 3.5 times as much in multiply assuming you have no bitcoins in your account!

I don't know how accurate your calculations are as it is difficult to keep track of your total wagered amount. You would have to start off with an account that has never wagered before to be able to do it.

I do want to point out wagered != spent

It's actually quite easy to wager many times your balance.

That makes sense... I Forgot about that hack..
The 2015 hack would be the only way someone could hack it. As his password would be something very strong probably

This thread is very interesting Bitcointalk history of hacks and vandalism.

More specifically this image:

It looks like where the hash to satoshi's password is it says "invalid" so that makes me think it's been deliberatly sabotaged so it can't be brute forced.
3434  Other / Meta / Re: Any timeline for automatically deactivation of account on: June 06, 2018, 10:39:01 AM

Are you willing to deactivate Satoshi account?
He was last active in 2010
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=3

I believe it already has been deactivated so that nobody is able to hack it. I'm sure if he wanted it back he could easily prove who he was to theymos.

You'll have to get one of the moderators to confirm this but I remember reading somewhere that all the accounts that have been inactive since the 2015 hack are supposed to be locked.
3435  Other / Meta / Re: The Bitcointalk 50 BTC VIP club. Where are they now ? Complete list. on: June 06, 2018, 09:00:24 AM
The baffling thing is that the last update for this list is "April 2017", Is it possible for an account to make a donation after the price of the Bitcoin exceeds $ 1,000?
Source ---->https://bitcointalk.org/donate.html

In April 2013 the price range for BTC was $50 to $230. All those VIP listed above were registered in 2012 or before. I haven't checked the Donator list but it is possible that there was a 10 BTC ($500 to $2,300) donation at that time.

Edit I misread 2017 for 2013. A $10,000 donation is possible I suppose.
3436  Other / Meta / Re: The Bitcointalk 50 BTC VIP club. Where are they now ? Complete list. on: June 06, 2018, 08:31:09 AM
Does anyone know how much 50 BTC was worth when they donated?

It really depends on exactly when they made the donation. If it was in 2011 it could range from $25 to $800. I remember reading in 2013 that the amount was supposed to be around 1 months server hosting costs. The price range at that time 50 BTC would have been $1,500 to $2,500 until later in the year when the run up to $1,200 for 1 BTC happened. I doubt if anyone purchased after that.
3437  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: FreeBitco.in - Win free Bitcoins every hour! on: June 06, 2018, 05:25:44 AM
Do you know the formula or how to calculate?

No.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=320959.msg33423133#msg33423133

I would like to know how much to spend to decide, I don't want to just start spending and hoping for the best before knowing exactly how much.

What is the point if it is going to cost me half of what I got?

That's not how gambling works. Try thinking about how much you might win.
3438  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: FreeBitco.in - Win free Bitcoins every hour! on: June 06, 2018, 05:04:42 AM
it says I have to play multiply BTC or buy lottery ticket, but how much should I spend?

It depends how much you have received from free rolls and what your balance is as all those things are taken into consideration for the calculation.
3439  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in - Win free Bitcoins every hour! on: June 05, 2018, 02:55:15 PM
Adding more games is definitely on the list. RP for deposits isn't a bad idea, I'll mention it.
It's a bad idea, will be easily exploited. RP can be exchanged to satoshi with minimum 100k RP per conversion
but giving multiply btc bonus for deposit amount is more appropriate
then to claim that bonus, user will need to match the amount and play it 25 times over (current bonus term)
it will be just like other casino/dice/games site with a bonus deposit program Wink

I was thinking more along the lines of RP to go with the interest on your balance. wetsuit would need to work out all the costs etc. but for example, we pay 4.08% on balances above 30k sats we could do xx RP a day for balances above 100k. Something like that anyway.

How can we reset it to the original email?

By finding the right thread in the stickies at the top of the board. Recovering hacked accounts or accounts with lost passwords
