3422  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin as a source of income? on: May 19, 2017, 06:35:22 AM
Today many people rely on bitcoin, in the sense that they are now focusing on the world of cryptocurrency, leaving their jobs

Is there something like this, is there any special tips because i want to focus but not yet dare?

Should be before you decide to focus on bitcoin then you should have more financial preparation for investment, because in the world of cryptocurrency, this all can not be predicted

To focus on bitcoin you do not need to have a financial preparation first or a regular job. Bitcoin gives you an opportunity to earn online without having a capital from your pocket. Focusing on bitcoin doesnt mean that you will use your whole day on bitcoin. Just like me I am working on the day and I am doing signature campaign and trading at night.
3423  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin for all levels of society, without any difference on: May 18, 2017, 08:45:32 AM
Bitcoin is decentralized so that whoever you are from wherever you are rich or poor, you are free to use bitcoin for any purpose. Bitcoin is freely used for anyone. anywhere

What is your response with this opinion?

Yes bitcoin ca be used by both rich and poor since it is for anyone. But being poor has its disadvantages and they are the people who will use bitcoin the hardest way. Poor people does not have the resources to access bitcoin such as computers, internet and many more. And even if they can access they have no money to purchase bitcoins. Thus the perfect term for bitcoin would be that bitcoin is for people who can meet the conditions.
3424  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin is the new era of currency? on: May 18, 2017, 08:33:11 AM
I think we could call it the new money in the internet,
And yes we could buy some stuff using bitcoin if the seller would agree to use bitcoin as a payment method,
There are some shop that is already accepting bitcoin as a payment method.

If bitcoin can survive the problems that it has this year then it could be the new era of currency. But if it cannot handle all the pending transactions sooner or later bitcoin will be overtaken by other alternative coins. We just hope that bitcoin could survive the problems it has and will be accepted by many countries around the world. More power to bitcoin.
3425  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Evolution is a hoax on: May 18, 2017, 08:14:25 AM
Why there are still monkeys around if they were part of our evolutionary beginnings ?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cz0gFarCfBE

Evolution is not a hoax. All living creatures on this planet started from a single cell organism which for millions of years have evolved and took many forms during the different phases. But possibly the only hoax there is the theory of Darwin that we came from apes. Of course even if the theory of evolution is true monkeys will be monkeys and man will be man since we do not came from monkeys.
3426  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "A Buck an Address" on: May 18, 2017, 08:02:41 AM
...

Average Joe Gold and BTC Guy just went browsing at blockchain.info in a recent block to see what sorts of FEES are being paid.  Almost all of the trx that I checked were in the range of 575 - 850 Satoshis / byte.  Very high!  Even very low amounts being sent had high fees.

It is possible that I am interpreting something incorrectly, if not here is my new Working Rule of Thumb sending BTC:

$1.00 / address (+/- 650 Satoshis for a very simple trx).

$3.00 for a typical transaction is way too much.  Only amounts, barring emergencies, over (say) $100 are worthwhile with fees that high.

"A Buck an Address"

A whole new world.

(Edited for spelling)

That is already how the bitcoin network works now. We cant escape the sad reality of the fees being placed on the transactions. Let us also accept the fact that the fees will also help the miners to increase their capacity to process the transactions on the mempool. Look at the mempool right now hundreds of thousands of transactions are pending thus we need again to set higher fees so our transaction can be prioritized.
3427  Economy / Economics / Re: African country adopts Bitcoin as primary currency on: May 18, 2017, 07:56:10 AM
Uganda would be the first african country to regulate Bitcoin. If it regulates,it would be followed by kenya. In nigeria, due to failure of local currency, most people have started using bitcoins.Since africa is such a big continent having many countries,it would be much useful for bitcoin progress if they adopt bitcoin.

Well in general african some african locals do not have the access to internet daily and probably advertising it there would be hard but if Uganda can improve economically then chances are some of them can even try to adapt btc. Because btc is not taxable and the budget does not come from anyone and you will generate that without taxes instead of borrowing in some world banks.

Well even though the majority of the African locals doesnt have access to internet but it will not be a hindrance to btc users in their country. But of course if we talk about using bitcoin as their primary currency that will be troublesome since internet access and computers or smartphones are needed to make transactions. But if they are decided the state could do something to make it possible.
3428  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: To all the trolls and morons who claimed blocks weren't full... on: May 18, 2017, 06:53:31 AM
so blocks aren't full?  this is temporary?  high fees and slow confirmations will go away in a few days?

I'm so sure.

no, i am not saying that.

blocks are full, this is not temporary, fees are rising at an alarming rate, confirmations take too long if you are a newcomer and don't know what's what. there is a lot of adoption and it means a lot more transactions are being made

but none of that means there isn't also any spam attack. you can't possibly say we suddenly got a massive adoption of users "spending their bitcoin" leading to 200,000 transactions in the mempool and then it plateaued.

ok, cool.

But the thing is, a lot of people say "oh its just spam" as if that was the primary or sole cause of the capacity exhaustion.

It maybe just a spam attack or it was capacity exhaustion but the problem is still the same. The problem is that the blockchain is overloading with transactions and the miners cannot cope up with the huge traffic. This is possibly the worst event in the bitcoin history and we will expect that we will no longer be counting hours before confirmation but days or weeks.
3429  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin transasction time and fees - What are the solutions ? on: May 18, 2017, 06:40:36 AM
The current unconfirmed transaction is 210000 and keep growing like crazy, we'll surely hit the million pretty soon.

I would like to know what are the current solution that are available and how and when they could be implemented.

What are the solutions to lower the transaction fee that are currently really high.

I've looked around the forum for answers, but it just confused me more.

So if you could brief up what options are on the table, what will be done, what can be done, and when it could be done, I'm sure that would be some really useful information for a lot of people. Smiley

There are many reasons as to why there are hundreds of thousand pending transactions it could be an attack from outside or it was an internal issue. When talk about an external attack those spam attacks were done by some huge company that are willing to pay and lose a huge amount to destroy bitcoin. Second is that the internal cause which maybe brought by the miners themselves. The miners may be placing bitcoin on the edge so that when bitcoin is about to break they enter the picture with a solution but behind it is a dark intention.
3430  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: RANSOMWARE impact on: May 18, 2017, 06:29:16 AM
I think the bitcoin will fall because of RANSOMWARE,it is impossible/Difficult to track who did this and in futur Bitcoins will be considered as a motivation mean for such act

I am afraid bitcoin is already on the edge of its existence. Aside from the multiple spam attacks that caused hundreds of thousands of transaction pending in the mempool while the consensus was far from being reached, bitcoin is breaking. Coupled with the ransomware attacks that placed bitcoin to a corner and was being called a hackers money it is only a matter of time before it will be replaced by other cryptocurrency if the problems get worse.
3431  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Dinosaur asteroid hit 'worst possible place' on: May 18, 2017, 06:15:57 AM
That was a nice discovery and I do hope to watch the documentary film on that one. This evidence will now give additional evidence that the dinosaur were killed and became extinct because of the asteroid that hit the earth. But there are more things to discover about the history of this planet and as man walks on this planet they will learn more things that will help them develop and at the same time protect this planet.
3432  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If BTC really survives over the next days... on: May 18, 2017, 05:50:15 AM
...it will prove it's the king of crypto

Bitcoin is under pressure this days and the reason is the hundred of thousands of pending transactions in the mempool. Aside from that there are movements coming from this new coin the so called TBC or the billion coins, they have announced that later this year they are going to launch the fiat exchanger to several countries across the globe. Unlike bitcoin this coin does not suffer from volatility since they are programmed to increase in value daily. If bitcoin cannot solve its recent problems then we will experience a tremendous shift from bitcoin to TBC.
3433  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Bitcoin Core Developers won't compromise on: May 18, 2017, 05:40:07 AM
I am so confused as to why the scaling problem isn't sorted. This might put off a lot of non techno lay people entering the Bitcoin space because they are used to dealing with cash, fast in and fast out. Bitcoin has huge value but all the DEVS and Miners need to get out of their own little spaces and really think about the common good for everyone to be able to easily adopt and use Bitcoin for everyday use.

That's not going to happen anytime soon, they have no intention of doing something like that as long as they have a huge gain from the situation as it is now and I think we're all aware of that.

The bitcoin miners both from different codes including the core developers will be put to the edges and will agree to something when bitcoin is already at the brink of extinction. Later this year a new cryptocurrency will replace bitcoin if it cannot solve its internal problems. Just like bitcoin this coin has already made some move to establish fiat exchanges across the globe and it hope to replace bitcoin.
3434  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin price is recovering! on: May 17, 2017, 01:29:18 PM
Good news dude !
Bitcoin price is recovering little by little .
From 950 $ some hours ago to 1066$ now !
Buy now till it's under 1100$.
 https://blockchain.info/markets

It's actually made my day because I was contemplating whether to sell or hold until I saw minor increases sporadically and I said hold on let me see what this means until I saw it climb back up past the $1000 mark.

Just keep on waiting. Bitcoin price will be recover soon. i know that waiting for this is gonna be worth it. Do not sell your btc in just low price. keep holding on it dude. Smiley lets think positive for the fast recovery of the bitcoin price right now.

Bitcoins price is not just recovering but it is climbing up in the sky. When you look at the charts at this days the current price of bitcoin is at 1800$. This kind of value is not just a recovering move but rather the potential of bitcoin to grow even stronger and can increase in value. The only problem left is the huge traffic of transactions that caused a huge pending of transactions at the mempool.
3435  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Bitcoin Core Developers keep on making bitcoin more valuable? on: May 17, 2017, 01:22:59 PM
This is objectively wrong on so many levels.

The developers can't implement scaling on their own.  Miners have to agree on scaling, so the arguments about scaling just show that the network is decentralised enough not to be controlled by one group.

Furthermore, scaling has no relation to fiat.  The supply would still remain fixed.  No one can just create Bitcoin like the Ethereum or Ripple devs can create their respective "cryptocurrencies".

Bitcoin is supposed to be an effective store of value as well as a currency.  The two should be able to work together.

The author was funny and you are right in speaking that scaling has no direct relation to fiat currency. The most probable reason why the developers wanted to make bitcoin more valuable is because they want to earn more from the fees. The higher the fees multiplied by the high value of bitcoin the result would be big profit. In the end it all comes down to profit.
3436  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why There's No Shootings In The US Anymore? on: May 17, 2017, 01:17:32 PM
It seems like all those mass shootings in the US have stopped for now. Maybe it's because Obama is no longer there ordering them?

What's your opinion?

Mass shootings are not duly because of the president it maybe because of some personal reasons or grudge that causes a person to make a rampage and will engage in mass shootings. Possibly today there are no case but later on possibly another case will occur. But hopely there will be no more victims of mass shootings and hope that the  schools can have a strict security so that students who carry guns cannot enter the campus.
3437  Economy / Economics / Re: Can Bitcoin be effectively used to curb corruption? on: May 17, 2017, 01:12:05 PM
I came across an article online that is quite interesting and it goes thus;

"Bitcoin brings a lot of hope to the table. The digital currency, which was launched with an aim to destabilize crony capitalism, certainly sounds revolutionary. And it has indeed shown how a money can survive only on public consensus, without needing government and central banks. It is now being used for plethora of purposes: to buy essay, goods, products online, as well as a mean to simplify cross border remittance.

The real beauty of Bitcoin, however, is its underlying public ledger system known as blockchain. The trustless system automatically executes, confirms and stores transactions on a public database; it leaves no scope for a middlemen or government or any financial authority to take participation in the ongoing transaction, ensuring that the system remain authority-free, hence decentralized.

Bringing the power of blockchain technology to government offices sounds like a far-fetched fantasy, but the open source nature of Bitcoin could make it possible. Imagine deploying public funds entering into such an open system, where money could be allocated to other government subsidiaries, and be used for many public welfare initiatives.

With every transaction going into a public directory, watchdogs can easily trail money to check on its conclusive spending. Private and public sector banks, as well as income tax authorities, could utilize blockchain to create private chains. These chains could then be attached to the main ledger as its branches. It will save money in terms of data handling as well.

If every single government office house enrolls into such a system, there would be no corruption. But again, all policymakers need today is intention."

What do you think? Do you think something like this can actually work effectively if implemented? What are your views or other ideas?

It is very feasible since the blockchain is like a public ledger wherein you can trace transactions coming from an address. It can be done if all government agency as well as every government official must have a registered and official bitcoin address so that when he makes purchases it will appear on the blockchain and the people can monitor how are their taxes are being used.
3438  Economy / Economics / Re: How to double your money using BTC? on: May 17, 2017, 12:59:22 PM
The easiest way to double your money using btc is gambling but it's very2 risky, high risk high return though. For more safety you can try invest and trading, of course both also risky but if you know how to do it, you can easily earn profit.

I am always telling people that the safest way to double your money in bitcoins cannot be found in high yield investment program, not on gambling sites that will eat your balance if unlucky, not on trading sites if you do not have the skills. But rather you can only double your money by just holding your bitcoins in your wallet and wait until the value of bitcoin grows or doubles.
3439  Other / Politics & Society / Re: NASA | A Year in the Life of Earth's CO2 cycle on: May 17, 2017, 12:48:48 PM
An ultra-high-resolution NASA computer model has given scientists a stunning new look at how carbon dioxide in the atmosphere travels around the globe.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x1SgmFa0r04

This is an awesome video. This kind of innovation will be very useful not only in determining the movement of carbon dioxide on the earths atmosphere but also on how to save the earth from global warming. It could be also be useful in scouting other planets to colonize in the future. This is another breakthrough in science.
3440  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is the anonymity of Bitcoin causing problem globally ? on: May 17, 2017, 12:42:24 PM
Bitcoin is anonimous. But not really. You can't buy bitcoin without giving your identity. But this ransomware is a different case. The hackers can't be trace on his btc address only. That's why the authorities still have no idea who the hackers are. I think its the perfect hacking in history. Because no trace at all and it worldwide. 150 countries, absolute incredible.

Yes it is true that even if bitcoin is anonymous but the moment you use an exchanger to convert your coins into cash or to use your cash to buy bitcoins the site will first require you to submit some legal identification for verification. After which you can be allowed to do some transactions. The wannacry ransomware on the other hand uses some kind of code so they can remain invisible to the eyes of the searching authorities.
