Bitcoin drops $2,000 in value as South Korea announces planned trading ban
The value of bitcoin plunged 13.5% in the early hours of Thursday after news hit that South Korea is planning to ban cryptocurrency trading.
News of the ban follows the raiding of local cryptocurrency exchanges by police and tax authorities over alleged tax evasion, as one of the key nations driving the demand for bitcoin and other virtual currencies attempts a clampdown.
“There are great concerns regarding virtual currencies and the justice ministry is basically preparing a bill to ban cryptocurrency trading through exchanges,” justice minister Park Sang-ki said.
This is usually normal in crypto currencies as news and event always have impact on their prices, south Korean ban on bitcoin will only affect it temporarily as we noticed during the clamped down on exchanges by the Chinese government last year, there was a drop in the price then before the price rallies upward later. I think South Korea is just trying to regulate the crypto currencies not totally banning it.Stop spreading the fake news and creating panic situation around bitcoin investors.The current fall in price due to the increase in price of altcoin but soon the bitcoin will bump as it normally happened over history. |

Hi Guys
I've been in the crypto scene for many years now, first time post here over a dilemma I am facing.
So, I am fortunate enough to make 600k from buying and trading Bitcoin and other crypto assets, and I don't know what to do with the money. Personally I think this is the year I will become a millionaire, as I can only see the marketcap of all coins growing. But friends close to me think I am an idiot for not selling yet, and if it were to collapse to zero, I would never forgive myself. But they don't know the market like I do, and I do believe that it is only the beginning. They say I should sell 95% buy a house, a car and live a nice lifestyle. I am frugal, have always lived within my means and never spent any crypto money as of yet, but I am tempted to start spending some of it now. I am 26 years old, rent an apartment and drive a car worth less than most peoples pushbikes.
My portfolio currently looks like this....
43% Raiblocks
40% Oyster Pearl
5% Enigma
4%Dash
1.5% Bitcoin
and tiny holdings in Waves, Lisk, Stratis, Game.....
I think that both XRB and PRL can double easily this year.
This is not based on greed btw, I want to make enough money so I can buy my siblings houses and see them mortgage free.
What would you do if you were me? When do we call it a day and give up trading?

I think this year is Ripple's year. Watch out bro Ripple is falling,many people were trapped in ripple's hype and now the price is crashing under the earth.It is not a good idea to invest on a centralized coin.I think this is Ethereum's year and you already can see the price of ETH is going to moon. |

Bitcoin isn't a daily necessity nor a currency that can be used anywhere for any sort of transaction without issues, bitcoin is more of something we can say is investment. Many would also say bitcoin is a luxury I don't know how. Maybe in the future we would be able to use Bitcoin in daily life and then we would actually need bitcoin currently it is just more of an investment.
But bitcoin was invented to be used as a currency without any help from third parties over the online.But many people thinks bitcoin as an asset so they keep on investing and holding they don't want to sell it because the price will increase in future. |

Maybe the current price fall of bitcoin is due to the South Korea's ban but it is not the only reason because many altcoins are popping up so the people are just changing from bitcoins to altcoin.I don't think the South Korean ban will have a big impact on crypto currency market.

Maybe crypto currencies will takes the place of banks in future but it can't be replaced 100% so the traditional banking will be there always but less people will going to use banks in future than now. |

The chances are less because the availability of ethereum and bitcoin is plays a big part in the prices.Bitcoin availability is 21 Million but ethereum us unlimited so they can make as much as ethereum they want if they do the supply will be high and the demand will be less so bitcoin will be high in my opinion. |

Now I hope you can help me with the following question.
I have eth on coss.io and would like to transfer a part of it to gate.io, but do not see whether that would be possible / how to do that.
Is that even possible? Or can I only trade ON the website where I have my wallet / cash out from that website whenever I want $$?

If you want to transfer you must have ethereum wallet and address in gate.io never try to send to other coins wallet like bitcoin or litecoin then you may lose your ethereum.But as far as my knwledge MEW is the best wallet for ethereum so you can get MEW wallet easily but don't forget to store your private keys which is essential to access your ethereum later. Or you can keep your ethereum in coinbase wallet too and it is easy and convenient than MEW. |

hi i just read that china might ban bitcoin mining.
what do you think will it affect btc price? lower or higher?
If china banned bitcoin mining there maybe not enough miners which can handle the current heavy load on blockchain network.So it increase the transaction fee further more but the proble will be resolved soon because there are more miners started to emerge all over the world. |

Yeah surely bitcoin will reach the 20K but it needs some time to recover because of the rapid growth of ripple.Many bitcoin investors moved to ripple to make quick money but they will cashout when price starts to fall so they will reinvest on bitcoins soon when the ripple hype gets over. |
