Hi I have reached the 1440+ confirmations but I'm not forging, when I click on not forging it tells me my effective balance is 0 any ideas?
I read back a couple of pages and see someone else asked the same question, I assume now that my first outgoing transaction to myself needs to hit 1440 before I start forging? |

what are the benefits of creating an alias? will it make my account more secure? sorry noob with nxt / nfd here
An account number has an entropy of 64 bit. You only need to find any secret which produces the same account id to login and get the coins. That's not really easy but that can be done with some years of cpu time. Any outgoing transaction publish your 256bit publickey of your secret. When your public key is known, an attacker have to find exactly the secret which has this public key. That's much harder to find. Because of that, the advice to make at least 1 outgoing transaction like assign an alias, send a message or a coin to yourself... Got it, thanks for the clear info. Hi Guys, I have received PM and checked my Hash which is correct, i do not understand though how to check my AccountId and my RSAccountId Do I need to log onto the test system to check this, sorry if this is an obvious question for most Thanks If you already have Nxt, just use the password there to test it. If your account ID match with the one in the list, it's correct Thanks, and if I don't already have NXT do I run the NFD client and then I should see my details in there? Yep. Launch the client, enter your password and check your account number. Perfect, thanks for your help I'll do this as soon as I get home from work |
