3441  Economy / Economics / Re: Thoughts for the day - Past and Futures on: July 22, 2019, 05:56:53 PM
I enjoy chatting the trading activity of Bitcoin on several venues. I don't bother with any altcoins or tokens.

Something has caught my eye looking at the 4hour chart using candlesticks with Bollinger overlay. It has tightened up considerably while trading very flat in a small non-volitile pattern. The RSI is neither indicating over or under sold conditions. The appearance of a 10k support level suggests with that, that a push up is waiting for a trigger. And I suspect this will be within the next week.

I hereby suggest I am only hypothesizing and am in now way suggesting as fact this will occur at all. But I enjoy trying to make sense of the motions. Maybe I need to suggest just some fun bantor.

Thought for the day - One need not fabricate proofs to prove ones existence. Or as Judge Judy likes to profess, you don't have to think to tell the truth.

Please note that many traders are going to explain the same chart from different perspectives.
One can say that the motion indicates a selling movement and the other the opposite. This is what makes the market volatile an it excites investors.
3442  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC - Pump or Dump on: July 22, 2019, 05:53:27 PM
well, now the price of BTC is back past the price of $ 11k, and is approaching the price of $ 13k I think this is a small pump. it's just that, the pump that is happening right now is only happening to bitcoin. I think, this year the price of bitcoin will pump big.

As we getting closer to 13k again, whales will get more ready to sell and drop the price again.
This is what I hate with Bitcoin blockchain. There are a lot of whales that hold huge amounts of bitcoin and they will always control the price and the movement trend of BTC.
3443  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-07-22] Iran Announces Gold Backed National Cryptocurrency on: July 22, 2019, 05:27:06 PM
With all those incidents in that happen in Hormuz, their would be always a challenging situation between Iran and the US.
Having said that, if Iran will be in favor of bitcoin then I would not be surprised if I see positive comments from Trump side with regards of Libra and Facebook, even if those two projects are totally different.
3444  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Man won 12 times in lottery on: July 22, 2019, 04:55:22 PM
He probably made a good algorithm to decrease the possibilities of not winning, but he took a big risk of getting money from his relatives to by all those lottery tickets.
In my opinion, he was lucky enough to win the price from the first attempt, otherwise he would be in very difficult position and in high debt as well.
3445  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Impossibility of a gambling system (Why methods don't work) on: July 22, 2019, 04:42:17 PM
The reason why methods don't work is because you are out of luck. Most of the gambling is based on luck and one needs a very good luck to earn a fortune in gambling.
There are some strategies such as the methods but even that requires luck since many people lose their money despite applying the strategies.

So, if you don't get the methods work because of luck it is not about methods...
With your point you indicate that you don't need any method to win in gambling you just have to be lucky, which is a statement that I totally agree. No one can implement any specific strategy/method to win money from gambling.
3446  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: TRONbet of TRON Network!!! Do you guys try the gambling site of TRON? on: July 22, 2019, 04:38:35 PM
hi guys, i wasn't online over the weekend on tronbet, is it correct that they are now "wink.org" ? my browser redirects me to this site and i'm not sure if i can use it securely  Huh Huh i haven't read anything about this change.

They changed to wink.org.
I didn't get the reason of that change... It seems like they changed to a brand new economic model.
Does anyone know some basic differences between ANTE and WIN?
3447  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: July 22, 2019, 04:35:37 PM
Do you football guys consider Ronaldo or Messi to be the greatest of all time?  I think messi tends to get overrated because people love that he is a short guy underdog while Ronaldo is a physical beast.

In my opinion, Ronaldo is the greatest player.
Considering how they did in their national teams, Messi haven't won any trophy with Argentina, while Ronaldo has won Euro and Portugal is competitive in every tournament.
I have a feeling that Ronaldo is going to retire in a later age after getting transferred to a club in China.
3448  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: July 22, 2019, 04:26:10 PM
Watford narrowly lost to Ajax last night, have you guys seen Watford’s new kit sponsored by sportsbet.io? It’s the company I have in my signature.

You can read about the kit deal they made with Watford here - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1458034.0

Wow that great news for sportsbet.
It is going to increase adoption and awareness for the cryptocurrency betting.
I hope that after Watford there will be other teams that would have sponsors crypto casinos in their shirts.
I consider it a good exposure for crypto since sportsbet's payment method is bitcoins. We need more exposure for bitcoins. By the way, any idea how much money they are spending? I bet it's huge!

I think that they are spending a lot of money as they are exposed to the Premier League which is a league that has a lot of viewers during the period.
Watford is a good team for sportsbet as it would be one of the cheapest teams that accepts sponsorships in the league.
Let's see more initiatives like this one and more people will come in the industry to gamble.
3449  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2016/17 on: July 22, 2019, 04:22:23 PM
Bale is supremely talented bit he has a few things that aren’t good for potential suitors -

Age
Injury record
Wages

I wanted to see him in the Serie A and especially I think that he would be a great addition to Inter.
But, as news come he is going to join the Chinese League. It is a good opportunity for him to gather some money before he retire.

I don't know how people can't love hive.

I want him back to Juventus. 💓💓💓

Omg. I hope he will never join JUventus again.
He is so overrated and he is lazy to work hard and be a better player. He showed so stagnant in Manchester United and I think that it is time to join a middle-low club. If he deserves it then he can come back again to Juventus.
if we look at individual statistics then we will know how Pogba's performance as a midfielder and he is still very good at it, but if you see the player's quality only from the number of assists and goals maybe he will look like you say.

It is a midfielder's job to score goals and give assists, isn't it?
This is what increases his price not if he runs a lot of kilometers in a game.
He didn't make any good statistic while playing in United, this shows to me that he is stagnant.

He is so overrated and he is lazy to work hard and be a better player.
I mean, he's a world cup winner, champions league finalist, top teams like Real Madrid and Juventus want him, he's probably among the top 10 best midfielders in the world...I don't see how he's overrated. And tbh, we don't know him personally and we don't train with him on a daily basis to know if he's lazy to work  Roll Eyes

He is indeed a world cup winner, but please tell me a game that was critical for France and he helped the team winning the match.
Also, we don't train with him and we don't know him personally, but if he was working hard the difference in his performance would be exceptional and would differ a lot from his teammates. I don't see it happening though.
3453  Economy / Economics / Re: Using credit cards to buy bitcoin in the bull run on: July 20, 2019, 05:13:50 PM
If you were going to do this, what card would you use?

Do any credit card companies have restrictions on bitcoin purchases?

Which cards offer incentives and bonus dollars for purchases?

Try to avoid buying cryptocurrencies with credit cards.
You will fall in the trap of spending money without controlling the amount of it. Also, I think that their not any current card that gives you bonus and incentives for buying crypto. Given that, there is no point in making buys with them.
3454  Economy / Economics / Re: The future of the market on: July 20, 2019, 05:11:22 PM
It seems to me that it is very difficult to predict even the nearest developments in the cryptocurrency market, since we all expected an equivalent increase in prices for Ethereum, along with Bitcoin, but all these predictions were not crowned with success.
Not yet but it will soon be there if you'll be able to wait and see how things will be done, the market still on it's up and down movements and there's no actual assurance if what direction it will be going and when the market will boomed and bring good things to our investment what we can do for a while is to keep believing that it will soon be there for us.

There are many factors that impact the market and this is the reason which makes it difficult to predict it on what direction is going to move.
It is not only the cryptocurrency development but political regulations for example. If one country decides to adopt a cryptocurrency then its price is going to increase significantly and vice versa.
3455  Economy / Economics / Re: How can I start a business that offers crypto services? on: July 20, 2019, 04:57:19 PM
What would the process look like?

If I registered a business name and then got some business loans to buy more coin. It would be a HODL business. Or a boutique crypto investment firm. I just want that loan to buy and hold onto a bunch of coin and watch it soar. There would eventually be a legit service to offer through the business but at first I just want a giant loan to buy a bunch of bitcoin.

Sound idea? Yes or no

That doesn't sound like a good idea...
You should never forget that cryptocurrency industry is very volatile and you will suffer huge losses.
Never invest what you cannot afford otherwise you will be in a huge pain. And a crypto investment like you consider it relies a lot of risks in the background that would lead you to economic breakdown.
3456  Economy / Economics / Re: If a pyramid runs forever, is it still a pyramid? on: July 20, 2019, 04:53:03 PM
I have been wracking my head trying to figure this out. I've been watching some schemes on cryptocurrencies and even though their complexity is very high, many all boil down to the same basic principle: a ponzi.

What my question is seeking to address is whether these ponzi schemes are indeed ponzi if a surrounding business takes advantage of it.

Ok, I did not make myself clear.

Let's think 3Dimensionally beyond the simple MLM, ponzi.

1. The pyramid is a hierarchical structure right? Now, imagine it being surrounded by legimate businesses. I mean most "complicated" and smart ponzis are like that and can run for decades. Think Bernie Madoff.

2. From the Ponzi, legitimate and real businesses are ran. In fact, an entire eco-system can be built around the simple ponzi. From investing in other legitimate investments to small brick and mortar SMEs, ponzi money can "expand" to so many horizons.

What are examples?

- apparel
- consulting services
- video content
- tradeshow and "TEDtalk" like events with pricey tickets
- VPN hosting services, etc, etc.

These allied businesses, are not in and of themselves "ponzi" but may have been capitalized with ponzi money. Now, if any of these endeavors "takes off" and perpetuates the ponzi or prolongs it, doesn't that make the ponzi not a ponzi?

Those two doesn't correlate to each other.
If it is a pyramid then that seems that it will stop in the future.
If it never stops then it is not a pyramid.
In my opinion, if there is even the smallest indication that it is a pyramid, thus a ponzi scheme, then so it is.
3457  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Tokenomics of a utility token on: July 20, 2019, 04:49:51 PM
I've been trying to describe tokenomics of a utility token to a non-techie crypto-noob friend.  The description is targeted at a specific project but it might be helpful for others too.  I'm trying to get to the underlying concepts while deliberately keeping it as simple as I can and avoiding describing the technology.  Here's what I've got so far - if anyone has any ideas for improvement I'd love to hear them.

Description of a utility token economy:
  • The economy is an open market with three actors: users, token holders and miners.
  • Users buy tokens on the open market so they can use services on the network.*
  • Token holders are owners of a portion of tokens within an economy.
  • Token holders provide liquidity on the open market - they provide a pool from which users can buy tokens to use the network.
  • Miners run the network in return for fees from all transactions that users make on the network**.  These fees are paid in tokens which the miners may sell on the open market.

As in any economy the interactions between actors and the effect on the price is hugely complex.  Some points worth noting in very high level terms:
  • As the platform matures more users join the economy, raising demand for tokens.  This has the effect of pushing up the price of the token since the total number of tokens is fixed.  Token holders can benefit from this price gain.
  • The supply of tokens depends on how many token holders and miners are willing to sell at the given price, given the demand and market fundamentals etc.

* actually, application providers may buy tokens in bulk then supply them to users as part of a traditional paid service.  In this case the tokens (and the token price) will likely be invisible to the users as developers build application layers on top of the platform.  Note, application providers who buy tokens in bulk while the price of tokens is low will have a competitive advantage over others.

** Note: in the early years of platform development, when there are few users and few transactions, miners are encouraged to help run the network in exchange for minted coins.  The number of minted coins available to miners reduces algorithmically over time based on the economic model coded into the underlying blockchain software.  The reduction is designed to reflect the increasing number of transactions over time as more users join the economy.

I think that it is hard for a newbie in the crypto space to understand those terms.
They don't have in their mind the concept and the environment where tokens are created thus even the simplest terms are hard to understand.
In my opinion, you have cover all the major topics. Maybe a good idea is to describe them with examples of how the tokenization happens.= in order to support your theory.
3458  Economy / Economics / Re: The problem bitcoin solves on: July 20, 2019, 03:47:05 PM
Bitcoin solves many financial problems especially those related to financial transactions. Bitcoin grants its users the power to own control over their financial lives via its decentralized platform where there is no third party interruption in transactions. This facilitate fast and secured transactions.

Bitcoin is not the best solution to be used in financial services.
In this industry we need a reduced response time and bitcoin blockchain is very slow to do that.
Having said that, if we need to solve problems in the financial industry we need a faster chain that will execute transactions faster than the currenct state of bitcoin chain.
3459  Economy / Economics / Re: Are Blockchain Projects in Northeast Asia can change the economy? on: July 20, 2019, 03:38:02 PM
Link Project, ICON Project, Klaytn in Japan and South Korea are starting their business. How these projects can change the local economy? Carry protocol and Contents protocol can be a good example for this.

Asia has a lot of countries that have strong manufacturing industry and many companies are active there.
They need new technologies that improve their automated operations, thus blockchain technology can change their economy completely. This is the reason why they spend so many resources in blockchain research.
