Bitcoin gem developer has just ran away with 225BTC: Butterfly Labs sucks balls bought at 115.31 btc and is about to make 5.765 btc profit Butterfly Labs ASIC Miners bought at 104.83 btc and is about to make 5.24 btc profit I guess that's karma ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) I'm not positive he's out to scam... He's taken down the ability to purchase the gem while he waits for a buyer. If his aim was to scam as much as possible, he would have let people continue to buy the gem. Actually, no, the price has already reached absurdity levels and maxmint is now 50 BTC richer. It can't go on for much longer, so the logical thing is to look for a fool to hand him another 300 BTC (looking at reddit there's no shortage of "bright people" believing this thing to go on forever). Now if he left the option to buy the gem open, people would see that no one's buying it at that price, lowering the chances of finding said fool.

It takes decades to build trust, and only one second to break it.
How long does it take to offer a screenfull of opinion on how to handle a situation that happened two years ago?

|

Quite right.
Just putting it out there because a lot of people don't know about this yet.

I wish that picture had something else next to it so I could get an idea as to how big it actually is.
Power connectors tend to be the same size wherever you are, so you can extrapolate from there. You don't know how big a standard computer ATX power supply is? I do. He asked. Which is why I told him to extrapolate from the C14 connector.

Is it just me or did that webpage just change to something even more insulting?
It sure did. Someone sure is trying to hide their tracks. What did it change to? It's down for me. Exactly.

At this point, OP should just build their own ASIC. ![Undecided](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/undecided.gif) If I remember her right, she'd probably could do this too.

Was that thing EVER correct? Whenever I read about it, it's always spewing out tomorrow's weather or the lottery numbers or something.

Oh, btw, in case you're wondering, maxmints avatar is "Räuber Hotzenplotz" from the German Hotzenplotz children storys. Hotzenplotz is of course a shrewd and clever robber.
So, yeah, you're being "pirated" again.

This is the part in the story where the OP "sells" the site to a sockpuppet. Mr. Puppet suddenly (maybe after a couple days/weeks to make it more "legit) vanishes with the site and coins. Obviously this isn't the fault of the OP. He no longer owns/operates the site and will be very upset that it happens but there is nothing he can do about it.
I hope he sells to an African Shaman Billionaire who collects teddy bears with which to entice starving children to join his ever growing hacker army.

What you should order ![Huh](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/huh.gif) There's only one company even taking orders, so the question is kinda moot.

Maybe they sent it in a junk like Marco Polo. We can expect arrival on European shores in about 2015 then.

Koelen3.
Of course, Mr. van Gampelaere. You'll have no problem with the Belgian state attorney verifying that, won't you?
