This was the reason why conference league was created to begin with, all these teams that would have hard time in any other cup, could at least face each other in the conference league and would have a chance to win it all. Roma would probably have hard time being out of the group stage in europa, or at the very best case would have a chance to lose in the first elimination phase.
Instead, they are here and trying to win. That is exactly what happened to Marseille and that is why they are here. All in all I would assume that it is easier for teams to try to win something lower, instead of losing something higher.
Glimt played some good games, they got a draw against Roma in the group stage once and won vs them with 6 goals earlier. This happened between October and November 2021 when Roma was in its worst days. For April game, odds aren't that big between the two teams and it don't show a clear favourite. Still confused with home and away goal with African world cup qualifier where they still adopt it, I see most country active participant on each world cup edition as Nigeria have missing this time world cup after eliminating from Ghana, first leg both countries play draw and Ghana as playing home match, but on 2nd leg away to Nigeria, Ghana success get draw with score 1-1 and as the winner for this match because created away goal and make Ghana will play on world cup, but different when UEFA Champion League match they not counted again with home and away goals created. Africa isn't underdeveloped for no reason.. Everything there is applied late and the rules might change at the last minute whenever they want to push a team against another. Anyway, this rule is known by everyone and those who fall back should improve themselves especially Algeria, they dropped a lot comparing to the previous year.. I am still worried that qualified African teams won't do anything special in Qatar and will be an easy opponent for the others, hope I am wrong.. |

Based on the first half, North Macedonia will not win this game, although they are not playing badly, but Portugal have many dangerous chances. Ronaldo and Jota are constantly taking dangerous shots. Yes it does, and Nigeria will not be heading to Qatar. Congratulations to Ghana and they duly deserve to go through, Nigeria's performance is the 2nd half today was horrible, and even when the game was over there wasn't much sense of urgency from the players still kept very slowly with the ball and not charging forward, the coach could also be blame too for lack changes early enough into the 2nd half knowing that he need a fresh set of legs into the game, there was nothing left to lose. I know that North Macedonia has taken out Italy. They also stunted against Germany last year, when they won in Germany with 1-2. Those are unimaginable achievements. Would it work a third time? My prediction is that they will dig into the whole game and then get 1 or 2 chances and then 1 of them has to go in. Ronaldo will be eager to qualify for the World Cup. Manchester City - Atletico Madrid draw can be really fun for us to watch. But maybe we might see few goals in the second leg that is going to be in Wanda Metropolitano. But my expectation from the first leg is going to be quite high. Because all of us know how great Manchester City are playing in their home matches. They literally own those matches and make us watch a match with a high tempo most of the time. And I hope to see at least three goals in that match too. And obviously, Manchester City would advance to next round.

Harry Kane will not be targeted firstly by Manchester City anymore most probably. Because it seems like that Manchester City have changed their route now and they are targeting Dortmund's wonderkid striker Erling Haaland to sign. They won't be the only team to sign him of course but they are one of the richest clubs in the world. So they have a big chance for him. And if this transfer comes true for them, then Harry Kane might be on the radar of some other big club. And that big club might be even Manchester United. If Ronaldo leaves in the summer, they will need a striker in the end.
It could also be a move to reduce the ridiculous price asked by Spurs to let him go... I assume City could buy Haaland for €150m but not Kane regarding the age, performance and effectiveness difference. I doubt also that ManU will join the race, with that amount of money, it would be better to fix the team and replace those who will left. |

Another thing I do not like is what I heard that President Buhari has promised to be at the Abuja stadium to watch the encounter. Austin Egueavon should up his game and make necessary tactical changes wherever it is possible. The performance of the African teams is so laggy in fact. In their competitions, you will never know how the game will end even if top teams like Nigeria is playing vs an unknown country. It is classic there. I'm watching the Ghana vs Nigeria match, and it's tough, but not the kind of toughness I expected from the Nigerian team after all the hype and the caliber of players they brought to the match; they have better and more experienced players than the current Ghana team, but Ghana is playing better than them.
On the other hand, Egypt leads Senegal 1-0 thanks to an early own goal from Ciss; perhaps now is a better time to exact vengeance and eliminate Senegal from the upcoming World Cup, but Senegal is still aiming for a draw.
The outcome of the games for today was quite upsetting for many people betting on what supposed to be the favourite team to win. Morocco and Nigeria got a draw. Algeria surprised Cameroon. Egypt and Tunisia won by 1 own goal each.. I recommend seeing the goal scored by Mali player in his goal, pretty ridiculous mistake that shouldn't be seen in a professional match..even worst he got a red card 5 minutes after. |
