3441  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you stop gamble if your girl friend insists ? on: August 04, 2022, 08:42:41 PM
I'd give her that. I'm not addicted and I'd be able to live without it. It's not an important part of my life. Being in a relationship and having a family is much more important.

Someone not addicted like you won't find it difficult to do that but an addict won't have to succumb to her pressure like that. If the addict love and cherish the girl, he can agree to stop it in public but will go back in private to keep gambling and take out all the traces of being caught by the girlfriend. This is typical of any bad habit. A chronic addict don't stop that kind of behaviour just because of the treat of a woman. What can stop such behaviour is severe health challenges that won't allow the addict freely doing that.
3442  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Nigeria (Naija) on: August 04, 2022, 04:27:25 PM

Na so dem do with twitter , how many we go talk for this government.
3443  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Martingale Betting Strategy on BlackJack, how effective it is? on: August 03, 2022, 09:23:08 PM

If you don't have a big capital then you can start with a little as 8 sats per bet as I think lower than that won't trigger the martingale anymore. If you are looking forward on playing to have fun then there is no need to use such strategy as that will only make you bust faster.

It is not to be in doubt that martingale is always for those with high level capital and those ready for risk taking because of their risk taking. Small capital players need to avoid the martingale strategy. You don't double your bet when the first has not been cashed out because you need the capital to continue playing instead lose at a goal.
3444  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How Gambling companies can get more users to deposit. on: August 03, 2022, 04:06:37 PM
I think that if you do not take into account bonus hunters who break the rules, then these bonuses are beneficial to both parties.

I think bonus hunting is the reason that casino can even be popular. Although they may break the rules but it makes the attraction of more hunters possible. This is to the fact that it generate traffic to the site and getting the online busy on the site and the more some succeed to register, the site increase in subscription.
3445  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Share your Football Betting Strategies to Beat the Bookies this Season on: August 03, 2022, 02:35:19 PM
:

  • Choose 2 reliable punters and ignore others.
  • Don’t be a Gambler be a calculative winner.

These two points are just what it is and should be a winning watch word if someone wants to win. The reason for losing most of the times is to belong to many call groups, searching and using more sites. If we pick between the most accurate punters then we begin to get nearly accurate results and correct results , from their we perfect it to winning 90% of the time. A gambler should be precise and not to gamble between numerous games and at the end losing consistently.
3446  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Can Decentralization Exist Without Blockchain? on: August 03, 2022, 11:45:11 AM
I think this thread will eventually find itself on
legal board  because it sounds to be better fixed there. On a second thought I was wondering the relationship between justice, dispute resolution and cryptocurrency or blockchain and it came to me that there are could be some disagreement, defaulting of contract or what more in crowdfunding or purchase of coins that may arise in litigation like we have seen in the past with ripples etc.
3447  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bullish VS Bearish on: August 01, 2022, 09:00:26 PM
Government getting into the market however are not always positive because sometimes they can order rules which are against to crypto.

Government does not get into cryptocurrency they only try to regulate the exchanges operating within their country. That is only the extent that they can go. They only try to imitate cryptocurrency by developing digital currency and that they can control and monitor but not cryptocurrency.
3448  Economy / Economics / Re: Is the US economy in recession? on: August 01, 2022, 04:42:02 PM
The United States had entered into recession but it is still unclear to many people about what's going on. The Biden regime has been a time where we all have to fix our belts and get ready for the worse because this looks like the beginning of inflation and we should be expecting more. It is not in the US alone that inflation is affecting people and also in other parts of the world where people exist. The effect of the covid-19 had affected many countries making things to go wrong.

This is a sign of recession. Inflation is felt highly in an economy where recession is setting in but I'm not sure if USA is already facing this but it has witnessed increase inflation during the Biden administration. Another factor is when cash flow is not circulating. If fiat and the means of better living is in the hands of few and far from the reach of the masses. This is a sign for recession and high level of borrowing. I don't think US is lacking finance on their economy for now.
3449  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Knowing Potential projects on: August 01, 2022, 03:26:34 PM
Some important things to be considered

1. Team
2. How far the development of projects
3. What already achieved so far
4. Commitment by the developers to the project
5. VC or companies who have been also backed the project

I used all of those things to make sure how potential the project is. It's caused by this is the most difficult thing to be known. I do believe if once the project has been fulfilling all of those things and i will call that as a potential project.

I see many of the reasons you listed very appropriate but team doesn't really matter for me if they have highly reputable and technical personality but are unable to show it in lifting the project , that is why number 2,3 and 4 are very necessary to look at. If a project is not developing, not achieving different mile stone it means the team is not committed to the project. So if the project has lasted for a longtime without doing well, you need to
reconsider these factors before investing.
3450  Economy / Economics / Re: Are we hodling BTC or we are hodling Fiat?? on: August 01, 2022, 02:02:35 PM

It will only be regarded as BTC holding if every price wave adds to it.

Above all that you said, having known with understanding of what bitcoin is and that it privacy and decentralised system is a greater advantage, it also has to be taken into cognizance on it volatility. If we say that when it adds up (that is when there is increase in value) then it is bitcoin and reduction by inference to what you are saying means it will be fiat, no it is not to be taken as that. The volatility of bitcoin is what makes it different and when the value goes bear, it also bitcoin that is why people are having it as store of value and buy more when the price drops.

It won't be regarded as fiat if it drops because at that point it still retains the characteristics that makes it bitcoin especially that it is not controlled or regulated and whatever will make the value increase is independent of any government control .
3451  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Russia To Ban Cryptocurrencies on: July 31, 2022, 08:19:43 PM

The Bank of Russia said crypto mining created problems for energy consumption as Russia is one of the largest crypto-miner in the world. Meanwhile, The central bank is planning to issue its own digital rouble. The proposed ban includes crypto exchanges too.

Banning cryptocurrency in Russia won't bring any solution or creating digital ruble won't either. CBDC and cryptocurrency are not on same purpose. If Russia is having difficulty in their economy, they should better stop the war with Ukraine and get back into supply of energy to Europe and their economy will bounce back because the economic sanctions too will be lifted and not to look in the direction of banning crypto mining.
3452  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: This clearly damage the gambling. on: July 31, 2022, 04:12:42 PM
well fixed matches is not a new thing here anymore.

Yes fix matches do happen in different leagues but not as obvious that the public will instantly know something went wrong. Fix matches are suppose to be what the coaching crew may know and players but fans that are not insiders won't know but in the case of this particular one, even passer by that happens to watch it would ask questions too. This kind of fix matches makes people treat the game with unseriousness, mockery and disdain.
3453  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The characteristics of people who are addicted to online gambling on: July 31, 2022, 03:31:55 PM
Online gambling addictions such as online slots, online lottery, etc. can ultimately destroy the lives of the players, both financially, physically, emotionally, and socially. The back and forth wins experienced by online slot gambling players, online lottery, etc., is what ultimately makes these players fall into addiction. The National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG) in the United States estimates that bankruptcy, theft, domestic violence and neglect of children, foreclosure of homes and other investments, and even suicide are also linked to gambling addictions such as online slots.

I didn't know if you mentioned drug or drug dealing among these characteristics here and I think drug itself is a major causative factor that people gamble and or drug is the after effect of the reason gamblers commit these listed crimes. Such crimes under list are not commited without intoxication of substances. Drug dealing is a characteristic known with gamblers as they invest in purchase of drug when they have a winning.
3454  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Nigeria (Naija) on: July 31, 2022, 01:54:18 PM

The news no complete here as no be my areas of concentration for the discussion I wan make we reason. So my question na be say, shey the government they find solution to use decrease this alarming increase in dollar rate and from the looks of things, crypto trading na one of the major driving force of the surge in price of dollars. So you dey think say the government go even support the idea of Nigeria welcoming crypto trading for the country or the government go dey fear say e go continue they contribute to expose their yansh say the government no know wetin dem dey do.

Las las if you look very well you go see say the country don collapse if you get spiritual eyes. One of the signs to know this small small collapse apart from insecurity na devaluation of the currency. As the Naira just speedily dey run down no surprise me shey and this time be the fastest wey Naira dey drop with huge margin. Dem no get choice, you go see when one of dem go still advise demselves say make dem unban the banks regarding crypto trading maybe e go help the Naira lol. Naira dey fall like this when dem never even stop the paper naira to circulate, wetin go come happen if dem come finally stop paper say make the country go e-naira I tire for the people. But why Naira no go collapse when the country no dey produce anything but to depend on importation of the finished products wey dem export as raw material, electricity no dey , boko haram dey disturb and kill farmers, herdsmen dey disturb with their cow wey dey chop crops. Which one we want talk self. Las las dem go still welcome crypto trading.
3455  Other / Off-topic / Re: Myths, Superstitions, and Legends about Playing Cards on: July 30, 2022, 08:34:19 PM
I might not have seen this quotes the way they appear but I can say that there are different kinds of superstitions in our daily lives this is same with different people, cultures games they play, and gambling is not an exception. In Nigeria and the local where I am, I think there are some similarities to the list made out there like number 5 and 9 but for number 5 , it is not about 52 which comes as even number but about numbers ending in odd form and so picking such numbers that are odd is not really a popular choice, people will select or call for odd numbers or numbers ending in odd forms , they see such as negative. And number 9, using of the left hand to play games or the use of it for anything is linked to the reason for misfortune if it happens so. And some playing with left is looked as dangerous.
3456  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Nigeria (Naija) on: July 30, 2022, 05:10:40 PM

We are just lucky in Nigeria not be witnessing environmental hard reactions like tsunami, earthquakes and volcanic eruptions. We have all the available natural resources to turn things to our good yet we are still far behind because of corruption and bad leadership.

You don mention our own tsunami, earthquakes and volcanic eruptions as corruption. If to say all these wey you mention dey happen follow join corruption for naija, na there situation for worst pass because even common road wey spoil dem neva repair not to say earthquake come happen or tsunami. Common say beach like bar beach dey overflow them never attend to am fast. We just dey manage dem corruption whether God go touch dem one day.

3458  Economy / Economics / Re: You don't earn money only from others, but also when you avoid spending your own on: July 30, 2022, 03:01:34 PM
Life is short! Hustle hard to be able to afford the things you enjoy.

This seem to me like word on marble, like a wise saying. There is reason in the whole of the things you said before the above line. Truly if you have different means of income and good income, you can well take care of all your needs in life and in fact become a philanthropist, giving to motherless homes and the needy. Having much to spend will is the solution to a miser kind of life as you said life is too short but if you don't have much, then being economical is the option left.
3459  Economy / Economics / Re: New scenario for cryptocurrencies next semester on: July 30, 2022, 11:27:42 AM

  • when the token sale is over, and got your token, stick to your mobile or PC because you have to sell the token immediately after listing (Cos, token pumps after listing, and you have to exit in that pump)
This is the IEO journey and this is the reason it doesn't really cause any positive vibes for investors anymore because when you get your share and relax for it to increase as expected for the purpose of profit but it will go crashing down to your face. This is why it is better investing straight with buying of ready selling coins from the market except as said you want to be ready visiting your PC always and get ready for swapping, change of contract address , KYC etc.
3460  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is it profitable to hedge/cashout bets before end of sport event? on: July 30, 2022, 09:06:56 AM

In the case of counter betting, I made a few only because I was convinced that the team I placed a bet on earlier is probably gonna lose. So it was not about the odds really. It wasn't about making profit. It was simply about trying to recover my potential loss.

Yes to regain your potential loss and be safe of total lose, I do cash out to have my money back and no need to wait all the way till you lose totally.

It seems a bit odd to cash out before the game ends. I mean, it's usually fun to watch the game anyway, so might as well wait for it to end before checking the betting results.

It is not odd bro when you see that you may lose your bet and you have the choice to opt out, you do that and bet again next time. If you see a clear winning that you are sure of and the team is already leading with still holding good possession then you don't bother cashing out

But I guess you can make betting more efficient that way, just seems less fun

How will losing your money become fun when you are playing with money? You are playing with money and so you want to double it, losing your money is not fun.
