A Real Democratic Challenger for Hillary Clinton?

Quote
...
Officially, O’Malley is still merely considering a bid. But his travel schedule suggests otherwise. Last weekend, he was in South Carolina; this weekend he’s headed to New Hampshire. He has also scheduled trips to Iowa this month and next.

If O’Malley does formally enter the race, he’ll be a heavy underdog, of course. Still, he’ll find some encouragement from Clinton’s ongoing troubles. On Wednesday, the Associated Press reported that she maintained her own home-brew server for the private e-mail address that she has been revealed to have used for work correspondence as Secretary of State, rather than relying on an outside service, such as Google or Yahoo. “Operating her own server would have afforded Clinton additional legal opportunities to block government or private subpoenas in criminal, administrative or civil cases because her lawyers could object in court before being forced to turn over any emails,” the A.P. story said.

Awash in cash, Bush asks donors not to give more than $1 million – for now Roll Eyes

Quote
An unusual request has gone out to wealthy donors writing large checks to support former Florida governor Jeb Bush: Please don’t give more than $1 million right away.

The requested limit, confirmed by multiple people familiar with the amount, may mark the first time that a presidential hopeful has sought to hold off supporters from contributing too much money.

The move reflects concerns among Bush advisers that accepting massive sums from a handful of uber-rich supporters could fuel a perception that the former governor is in their debt. The effort is also driven by a desire to build as broad a pool of donors as possible among wealthier contributors.

Good move, way to win over working class people, Jebby boy.

Have people forgotten how bad his brother was?
The amount of money he is raising is staggering.
The political/establishment class seems to be uniting behind Bush on the so-called right to intimidate other candidates and force the media to project him as the presumptive frontrunner as they've been giving him and their 'anti-establishment' candidate Walker so much free media while attempting to overlook the real anti-establishment candidate, Paul. This media knows that all this Bush money is going to be spent on consultants, tv ads and everything related to that and naturally many GOP party officials are salivating at the amount of money they have to work with. Same song and dance all over again.

It does seem like most people around here, besides the trolls, have a very positive outlook for the future going forward. Sure is nice to have that disgrace, known as 2014, behind us. But yeah, lots of great developments occurred last year so it'll start to pay off coming up here. Should be good times ahead.

I think all of us should just go to Vegas for a week, get drunk, party, gamble, and settle all these differences of opinions in person. It would be fun. I'll room with LampChop.

Sos no room, lamp chop has to book a whole floor suite for all his sock accounts.

i have a feeling LampChop can really party hard.

i'm in, lets do this next year when price is 9K and climbing

 Cheesy
She'd like to be fucked real hard, yes, I'm sure we can all agree on that point. Otherwise, it's curtains.

BAC, haven't seen you around the forum lately but now you are here out of the blue which I respect. Are there any timelines for payments or is this a wait and see approach and hope? The spreadsheet is clear as to whom should be repaid confirmed or not. So, is the whole payment chart gonna be taken care of or is this going to be paid out to those that have had contact w/ Klye in the past ensuring that the sum is being paid? I have more ?s but go on...

This would be a great ad of sorts in any of the early primary states to showcase Dr. Paul's policies on foreign policy. I urge all of yall to view it and if you're impressed to donate to Rand @ Randpac.com to urge him to run for president if you're an American. Stay tuned for all those that are foreign nationals cause we can all foster a road together in this fight.

Why target the handful of Chinese, when every year hundreds of thousands of Mexican illegals give birth to anchor babies in the US hospitals? Oh... I forgot... the Chinese are not an organized voting bloc... unlike the Mexicans...
Brilliant viewpoint that I've seen elsewhere and what I've thought myself to the T. This is so spot on and obvious as to why the 14th amendment needs to be pulled to stop this anchor baby crap that has gotten citizenship for god knows how many illegals up til now. I only wish this country was in the condition to accept plenty of people irrespective of nationality or race to make their lives better w/o a welfare state ready to saddle the dwindling middle class w/ more debt than they've already got.

Thanks to that buttkissing-broadside-deviant-corrupt and criminal underworld boss Hillary Clinton that started this situation to unfold and go to hell like it has been. The end result is these dirty fakeass rebels known as ISIS running the show in that part of Libya. It's no secret that I hope she is forced to retire over the recent stuff and that that retirement is very unpleasant at best for that bunch. Furthermore, I don't wish the best for Chelsea on any of her plans. If there's any witches out there, do the right thing and look out for the average person and spite the elitist factions of the Clintons and Bushes and get the out of our hair for good, thx.

King v. Burwell: What Republicans Are Really Hoping For

Quote
The plaintiffs in this case, and the many Republicans in Congress who are cheering them on, want to eliminate the current tax credits that enable millions of Americans of modest means to buy health insurance.

Let's think about what those rooting for a 5-4 decision by the Supreme Court conservatives are actually hoping for.

They're hoping to cost about seven million Americans an average of $3,164 per year.

They're hoping to cause health insurance premiums for those Americans to rise by an average of 322 percent -- in other words, for cost to more than quadruple.

In short, the outcome they're hoping for means dire financial consequences for millions of middle-class families -- an outcome that, for many, could cause them to lose their health insurance entirely because it simply wouldn't be feasible for them to afford it anymore.

They ram Obamacare through unconstitutionally, wrecking an imperfect system but one that worked for the time-being, but NOW IT IS OUR FAULT if the Supremes rule the subsidies to be nonapplicable to the 37 states who opted out. And, this is the extent that republicans want to raise their flag to fight the health care law at this point. You couldn't make this stuff up. They better hope they get smacked down cause the next wave of middle class and lower people that lose their insurance is likely gonna fall at their feet. I hope this isn't the self-sabotage that it appears to be.
3471  Other / Politics & Society / Obama unveils plan to start federalizing state and local police on: March 05, 2015, 04:04:39 AM
Quote
President Barack Obama today introduced his plan for a progressive takeover of state and local policing.

“We have a great opportunity… to really transform how we think about community law enforcement relations,” he said Monday.

“We need to seize that opportunity… this is something that I’m going to stay very focused on in the months to come,” Obama said, as he touted a new interim report from his Task Force on 21st Century Policing.

Obama also instructed his media allies to help federalize policing, and to sideline the critics of centralized policing rules. “I expect our friends in the media to really focus on what’s in this report and pay attention to it,” he instructed.

.........................

State and local policing may need to be subordinated to federal social policy, Obama suggested. “Our approach to our drug laws, for example, and criminalization of nonviolent offenses rather than taking more of a public health approach — that may be something that has an impact in eroding trust between law enforcement and communities.”

Ben Carson: Being Gay Is A Choice Because Of Prison Sex

Quote
Dr. Ben Carson, who recently formed an exploratory committee for a potential run for president, finds himself in a new controversy on the issue of gay marriage.

Debating with CNN Chris Cuomo on New Day, Carson, a retired neurosurgeon, said the fact that straight men have sex with other men while in prison proves being gay is a choice.

Cuomo asked if Carson thought being gay was a choice, to which he replied, “Absolutely.”

Carson said, “A lot of people who go into prison go into prison straight and when they come out they’re gay. So, did something happen while they were in there? Ask yourself that question.”

As Jeb Bush Pounces On The Hillary Email Scandal, The Real Winner Is... Goldman Sachs

Quote
...
But while one could ascribe victory to the Florida republican in this latest scrimish, the real victor of this spat between the so-called "left" and "right" is the firm that stand to benefit no matter who wins: Goldman Sachs.

Why? Because both Bush and Clinton are desperate to be courted by the bank that made bloodsucking molluscs infamous, and to have the opportunity to return the favor in spades once either of the two moves to occupy the oval office.

As Politico reports in the "Goldman Sachs Primary", one can "forget the Democratic and Republican primaries: The two biggest names in the 2016 presidential race are competing directly against each other in an elite forum, the halls of Goldman Sachs."

...

She and her husband, former president Bill Clinton, have both raised huge sums from Goldman and all across Wall Street for their campaigns and charitable foundation. But Blankfein has also made warm comments about some in the Republican field including Bush. Blankfein has indicated he would be fine with either a Bush or Clinton presidency.

With Eye on 2016, Rand Paul Courts Sheldon Adelson (Casino Magnate)

Quote
Rand Paul said Wednesday that he met with the Las Vegas casino magnate Sheldon Adelson this week while Mr. Adelson was in Washington for a congressional address by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel.

Mr. Paul and Mr. Adelson are not especially close — personally or in their world views. Mr. Adelson, a staunch supporter of Israel, favors a robust, activist military policy. Mr. Paul, the junior senator from Kentucky and a likely candidate for the Republican presidential nomination, has advocated a more restrained approach overseas.

In an interview on the radio program “Jewish Moments in the Morning,” Mr. Paul said that Mr. Adelson had assured him he would not fund an effort by Republicans to defeat him. The New York Times reported last week that Mr. Adelson had told associates that he was open to the idea of underwriting such a campaign. Many hawkish Republicans are worried about the prospect that Mr. Paul could gain traction in the primary and are already attacking him as ill-equipped to lead a country at war with extremists.

In the interview, Mr. Paul said that he met with Mr. Adelson and his wife, Miriam, and that “they assured me there was no truth to that.”

Hillary should retire White House dreams...
Maybe she doesn't want to run in 2016, top Democrats wonder. Maybe she shouldn't.

Perhaps Hillary Rodham Clinton shouldn't run for president.

Maybe she should stay at the Bill, Hillary & Chelsea Clinton Foundation, where the former secretary of State could continue her life's work of building stronger economies, health care systems, and families. Give paid speeches. Write best-selling books. Spend time with Charlotte, her beloved granddaughter.

Because she doesn't seem ready for 2016. Like a blast of wintry air in July, the worst of 1990s-style politics is intruding on what needs to be a new millennium campaign: Transparent, inspirational, innovative, and beyond ethical reproach.

Two weeks ago, we learned that the Clinton Foundation accepted contributions from foreign countries. Assurances from the Obama administration and Clinton aides that no donations were made during her tenure as secretary of State were proven false.

Amnesty calls on King Salman to 'put an end to this shameful record'

Quote
The rate of executions in Saudi Arabia has reached “unprecedented” levels, a charity has warned, as the kingdom killed four criminals in two days on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Amnesty International said the latest state-sanctioned deaths took its tally of executions for the year so far in Saudi Arabia to 39 – almost three times the equivalent number for this time last year.

Local media say the Saudi authorities have attempted to hail the killings as an example of the government’s commitment to “maintaining security and realising justice”, a crackdown in response to the rise of extremism and the threat of Isis.

Who Is Eric Hoteham? Clinton Private Server Listed Under Mysterious, Untraceable Name

The computer server that transmitted and received Hillary Rodham Clinton’s emails — on a private account she used exclusively for official business when she was secretary of state — traced back to an Internet service registered to her family’s home in Chappaqua, New York, according to Internet records reviewed by The Associated Press.

The highly unusual practice of a Cabinet-level official physically running her own email would have given Clinton, the presumptive Democratic presidential candidate, impressive control over limiting access to her message archives. It also would distinguish Clinton’s secretive email practices as far more sophisticated than some politicians, including Mitt Romney and Sarah Palin, who were caught conducting official business using free email services operated by Microsoft Corp. and Yahoo Inc.

Most Internet users rely on professional outside companies, such as Google Inc. or their own employers, for the behind-the-scenes complexities of managing their email communications. Government employees generally use servers run by federal agencies where they work.

Quote
WASHINGTON (AP) — The Supreme Court was sharply divided Wednesday in the latest challenge to President Barack Obama's health overhaul, this time over the tax subsidies that make insurance affordable for millions of Americans.

The justices aggressively questioned lawyers on both sides of what Justice Elena Kagan called "this never-ending saga," the latest politically charged fight over the Affordable Care Act.

Chief Justice John Roberts said almost nothing in nearly 90 minutes of back-and-forth, and Justice Anthony Kennedy's questions did not make clear how he will come out. Roberts was the decisive vote to uphold the law in 2012.

Otherwise, the same liberal-conservative divide that characterized the earlier case was evident.

USCIS OFFICIALS REVEAL FEDS PROCESSED 7 MILLION IMMIGRATION-RELATED APPLICATIONS IN ONE YEAR

Quote
United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) officials revealed that the agency processed nearly seven million immigration-related applications in just one year alone (fiscal year 2014). Because the agency does not have the resources to conduct in-person interviews with every applicant, officials noted that applicants for President Barack Obama’s Deferred Action for Childhood (DACA) program did not have to go though face-to-face interviews before being granted temporary amnesty.

Potential applicants for President Barack Obama’s executive amnesty  program for the illegal immigrant parents of U.S. citizens will also not be given in-person interviews if the federal government is allowed to proceed with its implementation after the court case against it is resolved.

At a Senate Immigration and the National Interest Judiciary Subcommittee hearing on the day the House passed a “clean” Homeland Security funding bill that did not defund Obama’s executive amnesty, Donald Neufeld, the Associate Director of Service Center Operations for USCIS, told the Senators that “USCIS administers the world’s largest immigration system that includes more than 100 immigrant and nonimmigrant classifications and more than 200 different forms and applications.”
