3461  Economy / Economics / Re: Should we be scared of zero reserve banking? on: September 11, 2020, 07:19:26 AM
Q: "Should we be scared of zero reserve banking?"
A: If about bank run. It depends on whether the banks can manage their reserve or not. Removing the requirement doesn't mean there will be an empty vault because banks still have to honor day-to-day withdrawals.

Quote
Reserve requirements are a tool used by the central bank to increase or decrease money supply in the economy and influence interest rates.

...

Reserve Requirements vs. Capital Requirements
Some countries don't have reserve requirements. These countries include Canada, the United Kingdom, New Zealand, Australia, Sweden and Hong Kong. Money can't be created without limit, but instead, some of these countries must adhere to capital requirements, which is the amount of capital a bank or financial institution must hold as required by its financial regulator.
Source.

Quote
The Basics of Capital Requirements
Capital requirements are set to ensure that banks and depository institutions' holdings are not dominated by investments that increase the risk of default. They also ensure that banks and depository institutions have enough capital to sustain operating losses (OL) while still honoring withdrawals.
Source.

The central bank wants to flood the economy with fiat at the moment to (artificially) move the economy; therefore, the high inflation rate is scarier than the risk of a bank run IMO.
3462  Economy / Economics / Re: Real estate vs. Bitcoin on: September 11, 2020, 06:48:26 AM
Don't overcomplicate things (about real estate correlation with the exchange rate). A simple supply-demand analysis would be sufficient.
People buy real estate as an investment when the economy is going well (booming), and they expect to sell it for a higher price. Conversely, when the economy is going bust, they will sell it to get liquidity (cash is king stuff).

The lower-middle-class also buys real estate with a loan when the job is paying well. When they go unemployed, they default, and banks sell the house.
3463  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Modifying a signature code, can or should this be considered as plagiarism?. on: September 11, 2020, 06:34:50 AM
So you have two things: the visual and the code. Both have to be treated separately because each has its own license and stuff.  By the way, copyright violation is not the same as plagiarism.

About this modified signature, the creator has the copyright (by nature) about the visual. Any changes/usage if it's not categorized as fair use, will violate the copyright. BUT this is the internet where "stealing" visual/image is pretty common. It depends on whether the creator wants to make a case or not.

About the code, not sure if the creator didn't use someone else's code to produce the signature. No proper licensing here, so it's a weaker case.
3464  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: My experience is gambling on: September 11, 2020, 05:58:41 AM
Gambling has made me forget what money is and even seem worthless because I am so desperate for more.
Yes, especially after a big win. Sometimes I would think, "why I work so hard and not just gamble to earn the same/more money," then burn the winning money to purchase useless stuff.

That's why hard-earned money will last longer than "dirty" money.

I should have realized that if I made gambling a place to have fun then I didnt have to be excited about winning.
You will still be excited about winning, but the change in mindset about gambling is an entertainment and not a money-making machine, will help you decrease your playing time.

Who goes out to the movie theatre every day?! Conversely, many people do work every day.
3465  Economy / Gambling / Re: Roobet.com | Crypto’s Fastest Growing Casino 🦘 on: September 10, 2020, 06:12:46 PM
10$ minimum withdrawal is also one of the lowest when you compare with other gambling sites like Stake(20$), Sportsbet(20$) etc. As others have pointed out, the rise in txn fee and the minimum withdrawal are mainly because of the rise in network traffic.
If BTC yes, Roobet has the lowest minimum withdrawal, however, if you use XRP you can withdraw as low as 50 XRP (~$12) from Stake, and 200 TRX (~$7) from Bitcasino.
Anyways, If users have low budget, better use cheap coins at the moment.

3467  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Changelly Big fees! Becare. Is at limit of scam on: September 10, 2020, 07:30:07 AM
the eth tax fees where 65 cent. but the final balance don' t was 29,45 dollars of eth, it was 20 dollars.
Are you sure it was the network fee, not the exchange (0.25%) fee one?

The network fee currently is 0.02917 or ~$10.76. The problem with instant exchange is the fluctuation in network/miner fee won't cancel the deal, but it will go through and cut your converted ETH. Don't use instant exchange for expensive coins, since maybe Binance et al. will offer cheaper withdrawal fees.
3468  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Slots 103: More In-Depth about Return To Player (RTP) (With Poll) on: September 10, 2020, 07:08:45 AM
^Well, it's a gaming industry, not "making money online without risks" industry.
True, play responsibly!

Anyways, I found this excellent article to inspect Play'nGo's RTP.
https://bestnetentcasino.info/en/blog/different-rtp-numbers-in-playn-go-slots

This way, we can check the custom RTP used by the casino by simply inspect -> network -> XHR -> select xxxfly.playngonetwrok.com

Here's the response you should be looking:
Quote
"<custom><RTP Value=\"94\" /></custom>"

Below 94: rekt machine
94: expensive
96: good! <- I only want to play with this setting.
3469  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Have you lost btc at some point of the time ? What is your story on: September 10, 2020, 06:37:23 AM
Sadly I lost my first bought BTC because of transaction fees, it was more than $10 fee at that moment, and I only bought $20 IIRC Grin
It was the worst day to get introduced to Bitcoin.

Perhaps this scenario should be mentioned on the OP because probably in the peak of bull-run, many newbies lost their first bought BTC because of absurd fees.
3470  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Changelly Big fees! Becare. Is at limit of scam on: September 10, 2020, 06:27:14 AM
Instant exchanges such as Changelly et al. always post the exchange rate and the transaction fee before you send your coins. Why you still did it after you know the ETH tx fees will rekt you? I don't recommend instant exchanges for BTC or ETH as output because of the fees. But instant coins like XRP, TRX, BCH, etc. would do just fine.
3471  Other / Archival / Re: The Fundamental Flaws Of Provably Fair on: September 10, 2020, 05:20:53 AM
I thought you always play slot from all those 3rd party provider  Tongue
The 3rd party, like BGaming, also has provably fair games, so everyone can use the concept.
The question is, if the big players can easily implement the provably fair concept, but they didn't use it.
WHY? Is that because of flaws? Or more about conspiracy theory...
3472  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: September 10, 2020, 05:03:33 AM
Mourinho? You are kidding right?
How many players that Mourinho signed at united did actual play some nice football. If he had gone to United, that would have been the end of his career  Grin
He wanted to sign other players at that time but given marketable (but weak) players instead. So it's not entirely his fault.
Signing Maguire last season, and if MU buys Perisic this season, would be the irony of that club.

Well, Mou bought Pierre-Emile Højbjerg, and he is a great player. Let's see if this player can be world-class like his Football Manager's stats.
3473  Economy / Gambling / Re: ♠️CASINEOS.COM | Blockchain Powered Betting | Crypto Casino and Sportsbook🥊🏀🎲 on: September 10, 2020, 04:52:15 AM
Their withdrawal system is really fast and smooth. I think this is one advantage of this casino. And when you talk about XRP, no waiting time. But I noticed in their sports section, they have a lot of sports needed to be added such as boxing, table tennis or volleyball. And the loading is quite slow or is it my computer?
Yes, I couldn't load the sports section as well. Perhaps the product isn't ready yet.
I previously withdrew BTC and XRP without a problem.

The downside is about minimum bet that was rather high, however since the site uses EOS chain, it is understandable. I would say it's the cons of using EOS, they have to limit the transactions.

I think you need to add more recommended games in the OP
Well, you can recommend your favorite game, and I will put it on OP if it's not too lousy Grin
But for my personal pick is complicated as I have to pick the "evergreen" game, a game that I continue to play despite lucky or unlucky.
Anyways, some recommendation for the book of xxx mechanics lovers:
* Rise of Merlin - Play'nGo
* Mystery Museum - Push
* Book of Shadows - NoLimit
* Ancient Egypt Classic - Pragmatic
* Book of Gods - BTG
* Book of Tut - Pragmatic <- turn off the sound, lol
3476  Other / Off-topic / Re: How to check whether your email address has been compromised? on: September 09, 2020, 04:53:51 PM
I knew this site a long time ago, afaik it's not the email that has been compromised, but the service you register with the email address. Perhaps I translated OP wrong though. In other words, users' email may or may not been breached/hacked (depend whether they use the same password every time or not, which is BAD). Anyway, the site is pretty accurate, not sure about logging things.

I am not sure but the best they can do when someone has your e-mail is try to guess your password through brute-force attack I assume. And as long as your password is strong it would be not easy to find it. Plus if you have 2fa enabled then that would be another layer of security that they'd have to bypass to get through. I remember watching Mr.Robot and Elliot had to install malware into someone's computer to gain access to their e-mail because they had 2fa enabled.
As long as 2FA and strong password are there, it should be sufficient. But the thing is the spam that keeps coming is pretty annoying. That said, we don't have to use such services. If suddenly we get spam emails, then our email is known.
3477  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: September 09, 2020, 03:34:17 PM
Perisic should have joined Mourinho while he was still in prime. Now he is getting older and probably a bit more difficult to be the 1st choice in a big team.
Where will he go then.. hmm.. I think not EPL.
3478  Economy / Economics / Re: Gold Price Prediction & its impact on cryptocurrencies on: September 09, 2020, 01:46:42 PM
The gold price will continue to rise as long as women like it, and people use it as a symbol for love, marriage, and wealth. Regarding the impact on crypto, of course there is, because some people (a very small group) consider both as substitute goods. The question is whether it will be significant or not. IMO it won't be significant.
3479  Economy / Economics / Re: The freer the market, the freer the people? on: September 09, 2020, 01:31:29 PM
The market has no soul. It can do good or wrong depends on the people using it. The ideal free market assumed individuals have no morality problem, and the ideal command market thought that the leaders have no morality problem.

It is correct the free market will promote freedom, but some will misuse the liberty to do profiteering. Hence, it needs everyone to be bounded by morality or have a mechanism to enforce the rule.

There is only one bet that can be considered truly fair and random. That is the very first bet of a seed pair of which the player sets the client seed after the site gives a hashed version of the server seed. The result of EVERY bet after the first is known by the casino and only by the casino! This holds the supposed purpose of provably fair in total contempt.
Source.

Agree with the above paragraph. After the first bet with the new seed pair, the casino immediately knows the next results. This opens the possibility of unwanted behavior. Hence, I usually prepare my own random number generator for client seed and randomly change the seed pair as many times as possible.
