$40 cheaper than renting a server for a year :/ and i doubt POW_ASIC 'sticks' will get cheaper than that too matter of time until there are ODROID rent-a-farms

Staking is the future Mining is wasteful
Why not both? POS early adopters get 'it' ... why would i want to invest in a POW coin when all that means is that the miners always get to basically extort more money the higher the price goes. Just another version of rent seeking. POS fixes the problem, ownership is equity, yes there is still inflation but paid to the share holders who help maintain the network. POW is all about inflation (BTC never speaks of this) ... thus shit for investment because it 'taxes the savers' just like central banks with printing presses. But it makes for better currency, it needs to trade and be traded quickly, new coins ALWAYS present downward sell pressure, thus LIQUIDITY! whereas; POS markets can have wide spreads and no volume, and that is not a bad thing. --- POS is laptop POW mining that does not melt the cover

UNO $1.60 > $2 since suggestion. Re: Most undervalued coin? I have the solid opinion that UNO is the most undervalued, but that's my thing, and not everyone wants bitcoin level security with nearly nill inflation, cool. So I agree. If you want a super easy big gainer with deep liquidity. LTC is a fair bet. It may take 2 more years but testing $5 is going to happen, topping off at $20 could happen, really up to China. But of the Core4, LTC is going to deliver the least gains ... yet it offers the best liquidity.

Nxt 2.0 Nxt 2.0 short description:
- There is a new main blockchain called fNXT, used only for forging and simple transactions (without involving assets). So this is meant to be a much smaller blockchain than actually. - NXT and all MS Currencies will be child chains from fNXT. - The child chains are pruneable, although every full node owner can opt to keep all transactions forever ("archival nodes"). - Assets will be global and it will be possible to trade them with each "child" currency, not only NXT. I think also asset-to-asset-trading was meant to be possible this way.
Advantages: - Better scalability, because of the smaller disk space requirement for simple (not-archival) full nodes. - important: MS currency transactions pay their fees in their own currency, not in NXT. That will make them much more usable than today. - Asset trading to MS currencies and other assets (?)
Disadvantages: - The fNXT chain needs a new auxiliary currency. The plan is to distribute it among NXT holders, but not asset holders. So asset holders are the main opposing group to the 2.0 plans because they won't get fNXT when NXT 2.0 is launched. There is still discussion about this issue.

Developers has nothing to do with the success of their coins. A coin does not need too much gimmicks in order to succeed. Many people think that features are very important, but that's not true, because of one simple reason - they are confusing for the general crowd. The key of success imho is simplicity. You have a lot more chance for better adoption if you keep things simple. People need to know the answers of these questions: - what is this? - how can I use it? - why should I use it? That's about it.
Now it changes everything from what I've known about crypto currency so if ever there's problem on the nodes or the block explorers or the nodes or any components of the coins who will fix that I think developers plays a crucial on the development of any coins,I am not a developer but you can always correct me.. spartak_t is on the money. And if you are dependent on the dev for "explorers or the nodes" you are invested in the wrong coin. Those areas are completely the responsibility of the community, if not at launch, then eventually, so the better the sooner. Devs (re)create good code, it compiles for WinMacLx, and that's it. Have that shit in triplicate on a github. The dev can pull a Satoshi ... p000ff! Very few of the gimmicky special features panned out to much more than techno babble hype. Most just created buggy vaporware.

cool ....... i like #3 (not my first choice) .... but seems to be popular so if it wins .... could the artist not repeat the same 3 faces of the globe ... can do 1 Americas, 2 africa&europe, 3 asia pacific oz ... also might want to narrow it to top3 and have a grand finale, where the logos are reduced to favicons to make sure the 'logo/brand' works at that level.

@pc888
i think short min. hold time is an imperative
1. if the network is running low on stakers and has super low diff. then a regular accounts that always stakes will be able to keep the network going.
2. now a whale with a super large chunk might game to hit a block every unit of minimum time (but they can be put in check via the max reward limit). if not this would cause big diff spikes seen in intervals of min. hold time, btw
3. stakers could run large wallet.dat files (dust bins) so that they are geared to stake 24/7 but they will likely have to wait weeks before the small lots gain weight, so these full time stakers will insure that they have a longtail of dust that eventually smooths out to an efficient staking of blocks ... they will basically act as seednodes as well ... so the trick is to make sure that they can help keep the block speed 'regular' and thus the diff chart 'smooth'
