I should point out that Avalon sold 1000 units within Batch 1 (in China).
less FUD please, there's total of 300 units for batch one, -/+ 10. this includes in china. fun fact: we rejected 2x 100+ orders and a deal to buy the whole 300 unit lot. p.s. sorry about the DHL delay guys, since we are doing shipping through another company we get the tracking a few days after we ship, and due information being passed through multiple parties, it is entirely possible you'll receive units before tracking information, which is currently what is happening. Wow... what a surprise. PuertoLibre lying? Who would have thought. Unfortunately I was wrong about this. When it happens I own up to it. ------------------ Keep truckin on through your own lies for a few months. It will be a keen experiment in seeing how long you can make people wait for their orders. (Like the one obvious lie about Sabrina Rep being misinformed about your timeline for shipping because she is "new".) |

I recall that large order customers were allowed to order before Batch 1 went live. Either way I am asking for confirmations. It's been a long time.
Almost as long as you have been waiting for BFl to ship out it's products SloK.
Example, I'm not tired of waiting .... in fact, sometimes I forget I have a BFL order expected to turn up on my doorstep in the not too distant future. It's not until somebody at work asks me if my order has turned up yet that I remember it hasn't . . .

Maybe you are waiting because most units go to Chinese customers first, and they really made far more units than said here? I should point out that Avalon sold 1000 units within Batch 1 (in China).

So revise your power numbers.
1300 units * 67Gh/s = XXTH/s
Edit: By the way, 600 units in China in Batch 2. It is unkown how many exactly in the USA in Batch 2 since the orders were botched and pieced together. No, that is not true. It's not even rumour. But but but Puerto said it! This was brought up way back in September/ October (or thereabout) when people were hunting around for info about Avalon and whether it was legit. Several posts were made back then to references of Chinese message boards with advertisements of sales of lots. I already asked Avalon to clarify if their Chinese customers are part of the Batch 1 or if they are counted separately. (Josh asked me to get it from the horses mouth) And if you don't know yet --Korbman --Slok Are lackeys for BFL. |

PS: this is the last time for anyone. any inquire CAN NOT let you to get your Avalon any faster but cost me at lest 1% everyday sleeping time. here is a man who lack of sleep for 2 months.  You have the "problem" of having too many orders. Don't be greedy and hire someone short term to help with the secretarial work, it will pay off massively and you will sleep better. You won't have a shortage of work any time soon. Don't waste the opportunity to ship faster, because this market won't last forever.+ ( 300 + 600 ) Lacking sleep for 2 months is not good. You can buy back your sleep for not too much money, and do better business at the same time. I agree, they could hire a secretary or two and the parts that people complain about (legitimately) would over a week be completely resolved. Hire some temp workers for a month for the cost of one Avalon. |

Half expecting the airline to accidentally that bag to the wrong country.
seems like a valid reason for another delay. Where can I bet on this? First part of the 5000. The chips I have with me (not many) are all for test boards... the shipping chips and boards are coming along behind me via FedEx. The thing to point out in all this is the fact that they threw away an entire wafer. Right now, despite being packaged, they are still testing the quality of the chips. The only difference is that Josh is flying the chips to the testers with a package on them rather than without. There is no chance in hell they are going to be shipping soon if there is something wrong with the chips at this stage. |

What's a realistic shipping date for someone making an order just now? I just don't want to gamble that much. If it's going to ship in 3-4 months time FSM knows where will difficulty be at that point...
I would suggest waiting until batch 2 customers start to receive theirs. It should give you an adequate idea of when Batch 3 users will get theirs. The problem is CNY (Chinese New Year) was in the way of the first and second batch. So there is no real way to know how long it should take from ordering to having it in your hands. If you wanna get on the train, you're gonna have to order when batch 3 opens no matter what. You won't get another chance until batch 4. Whether batch 2 will ship before then or not is anyone's guess. Actually, if he gets his hands on an Icarus or whatever the other one was called, he can trade it in and skip the batch sequence. (In theory) Problem is, I don't think Avalon is yet accepting the trade-ins so in essence...yeah, he will have to wait till batch 3. Or whenever they start accepting trade-ins I guess. |

Update: Josh stated in the shoutbox that if the chips overclocked well and consistently that they would use less chips per board. That'd be awful  . The least we deserve as pre-order customers who've waited the better part of a year is a possible overclock. Also, this would put Jalepeno customers at an advantage, as it is just one chip. I wonder if BFL would actually use chip-sized spacers and short the pre-order customers of Singles, Mingles, and Mini-Rigs? I could understand doing this on later non pre-order sales when HSFs and specs can be redesigned and finalized, but for pre-order customers that paid last June for an order that should have shipped in October? I really hope this isn't the case. Possible short changing of customers in the near future. Let BFL know ( office@butterflylabs.com ) how you feel about such "a drastic" option. As this would reduce your overclocking potential in the long run and reduce the long term value...it is bad news bears. |
