3461  Economy / Economics / Re: Which cryptocurrency do you decide to invest in for the long-term? on: July 07, 2021, 11:29:44 AM
Bitcoin would probably be the top answer, but if you want other options to spread your portfolio, go look up the top coins in the market. They should be in general good investments in the long-term and if you even manage to find a good project that you can invest in for a few months, then that's even better though looking it up would take a LOT of time imo. If you're looking for only a single coin though, then Bitcoin. It's pretty much proven its worth throughout its existence of 10 years.
3462  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Million dollar win on $15 parlay whoa on: July 07, 2021, 08:23:10 AM
I even think it is pretty common that people only report their winnings and hide their losses. I had a friend who told me literally every weekend that he won a parlay but lost none. As I have a clue about betting and parlay betting, I know that's impossible for several weeks in a row. I asked him what his losses were and he always denied there were any... Come on, you don't just only win with parlay bets, there is just no way.
I mean it is kind of stupid to actually consider losses if you were thinking of gambling as simply for entertainment purposes. It's just like other games, would you really consider sharing your losses instead of your wins? Not really right? It's pretty normal that people actually only report winnings, not to mention the media. Losses literally make up almost the entirety of an ocean for example, nobody would actually enjoy listening to how someone lost ngl. Even as a method to convince someone to stop, it isn't really that effective.

I think it has inspired me now, lol.. maybe I'll start putting huge parlay so one day I'll be able to make a fortune in gambling. They say no one wins in big parlay but that's the proof, when you are really lucky, nothing is impossible and I just can't imagine how the owner o the bet feels while watching the game., especially the last leg to settle.
Be careful though because parlay is a difficult one to win from, this person was just at the right place and right time and that he won this big. Remember that this isn't a thing that will happen to anyone, this might not even happen again for a really long time.
Up this. Parlay is probably one of the hardest (if not the hardest) things to win from. It's like asking to find exactly $5 in the middle of nowhere when you're in need of exactly $5.
3463  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin as a ESO (Employee Stock Option) on: July 07, 2021, 07:18:50 AM
No. Most employees would probably just invest on their own after they've planned out everything after they get their money. I mean, I would. It's not a bad idea don't get me wrong, but as others have said, Bitcoin is way too volatile and they shouldn't really risk it. Even if they plan beforehand, it'd still be a lot better for them to do it themselves if they want to, since they could afford to micro manage it themselves. Unless the said option gives out bonus features or something, then they could think twice before deciding.
3464  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why can a piece of news from the Chinese government affect the price of Bitcoin? on: July 07, 2021, 05:35:04 AM
Because it affected the people, and people are the ones who demand Bitcoin hence it affected the price of Bitcoin. In reality, it shouldn't have that much of a huge effect on the market tbh, it's just that most investors are quick to judge and decide, not really bothering if it would or even should affect the market. As long as two points of notice are in the news, Bitcoin plus any negative idea, then they'd immediately agree for some reason without really even understanding if it actually has an effect or not.

Long story short, people get affected by news, and they affect the market.
3465  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What does it take for a game to "hook" people on: July 07, 2021, 04:34:29 AM
Are you talking about casino games or games in general? Cause in games, in general, is very broad, there are story immersive ones (most heavy games one are these types) and then there are puzzle repetitive types (like Plant vs Zombies) and casino games should fall towards the latter. Ofc, it isn't like there are only these two types, there's still a broader lot of genres out there. Casino games are engaging since even if they were repetitive, they bring a freshness of sorts? That makes it addicting. Not to mention that it includes money (fr, the latter takes up most of the reason tbh).

Though if you consider table card games such as poker, now those are quite fun and addicting since you play against other players and what you get isn't always the same. It feels like it's a new type every time you play it or something? Simple but has depth kind of thing.
3466  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are some interesting ways you've introduced bitcoin to your friends? on: July 06, 2021, 03:08:53 PM
Gambling! Not really the best way, but hey. It started when I had a campaign that paid on their crypto site accounts, I started trying out some games with the paid amount since I was too lazy to pull it out, not to mention that I was met with a few games when I entered, had to try it no? Stayed for a few weeks then when my cash ran out, invited a few of my friends to try out crypto casinos and went ahead to put more funds into play.

There was also a case (this time it was me who got introduced into it) where my school mate was using the school's library to run some type of mining machine. Was never sure what coin it mined exactly since I only heard tidbits from the friend of this person, so I got curious.
3467  Economy / Economics / Re: Why is cryptocurrency bullish in the long-term on: July 06, 2021, 01:29:44 PM
Well, it is loved by the people right now and I reckon it wouldn't really die off for a few more years. We would actually see it stabilizing into a steady price once the supply reaches close to its peak since that simply means supply increase would now be locked. Tbf though, most people invest in Bitcoin due to its past, its history. Starting from 0 to a price of 5 digits? Who wouldn't think that it's a way for an easy profit? Well, it'd be those that haven't exactly entered/tried trading. Some people though do believe that crypto has the potential to reach higher values, and it's due to Bitcoin being, well, Bitcoin.
3468  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who to Trust, Fiat Banks or BTC? on: July 06, 2021, 12:35:51 PM
Well, I'd trust myself as my own bank first and foremost before anything else. Sadly the system we have now almost requires us to trust Banks with our money, even if we don't want to. Most businesses and whatnot have developed a system of transactions with banks at its center, making it a lot easier so we don't really have a choice on that point. Still, the adoption of Bitcoin opens up the doors of having people actually be their own bank. As much as most people hate how banks operate, it is also the banks that make transactions a lot easier compared to if they weren't there.

It's close to the idea of having a killer hold the knife, but you decide when to die under a contract with him vs you holding the knife and you decide when to die kind of thing.
3469  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Question for bitcoin traders !!! on: July 06, 2021, 11:09:52 AM
Just don't look at the market, I fully trust Bitcoin would bring me profits, just not in the immediate long term. I guess that's why I'm more content with peeking at the market every now and then only instead of back when I was new, where I was looking at it every day. Switching from trying to do day trading to long-term investment made me get a huge breather and let out that huge source of stress that I always get. As for investments, well I DCA every month so it doesn't really hit me that badly. It's rather light on the load even tbh.
3470  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are you a gambler? on: July 06, 2021, 05:04:55 AM
Well, I wouldn't really deny that I post here for sig count, but it doesn't mean that I don't gamble. Have had a few experiences with Roobet and wolfbet before (when I had the time and money), I've also tried out Sportsbet but never really stuck into it and just left sports gambling to just simply watching matches that I like. I've recently had an interest in horse racing though it's still rather debatable even if I would actually try out gambling or just enjoy watching it.

Still, I enjoy discussing topics about strategies and the like, especially when it comes to games such as poker and blackjack. I've had my fair share of fun with them back in Highschool when me and my friends started to play and mess around with each other.
3471  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Feedback on the Blackjack Trainer by Bojoko on: July 05, 2021, 11:09:39 AM
I like the chart idea, haven't played it but based on what was shown on the page, it should be pretty useful even for experienced players, especially those that didn't really bother having an in-depth study on how blackjack works. Pretty simple yes, but hey, some players just wing it when playing so this should be plenty of useful. Not to mention that there also seems to be a bunch of other stuff that teaches the players. It's actually quite interesting how you implemented the chart of Hit, stand, etc., to a tutorial of sorts from the image shown.
3472  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Recognizing Gambling Disorders, Symptoms of Severe Gambling Addiction on: July 05, 2021, 07:47:37 AM
If he's your real friend, you wont leave him that way instead you'll help him until he recovers. Sometimes, people are too weak to control themselves and that's why some friends or your family can help you on making yourself better again. I do witness some addict in gambling, and his friends continues to motivate him and encourage him not to gamble anymore, then it works to him. It's hard to dictate someone in the casinos because you didn't know that guy so I think it wont work if you are not connected with that gambler.
Now, this is just blaming the wrong party tbh. He already tried to help, if the friend doesn't acknowledge it, then that's his fault. Changing doesn't only come from the persuasion of others, it also comes from one's own realization, it comes from both sides. Now if one side doesn't want to change, there's nothing you can do, and it's also your own choice if you want to continue or not. Asking the words "if he's your real friend" is just something that induces guilt towards one party, and not really what he actually wants, basically taking advantage of his feelings.

Especially in gambling. Gamblers should be responsible for their own selves since this industry takes advantage of you basically if your mindset is weak. You choosing to enter then succumbing to it is your own fault, and heck you should even thank your friend for even trying to help you. If they left you, not really their fault tbh, it's just yours.
3473  Economy / Economics / Re: Die today, Die tommorrow, the same dying! still get vaccinated! on: July 05, 2021, 06:29:43 AM
5. Spend your money wisely not by purchasing luxuries in life but only the need and don't forget to share if you have some extra resources to spare to others.
I mean, if you were preparing for death, why spend sparingly. If you were planning to leave money for your family, then sure, part some of it, but the money you'd want to spend for you shouldn't be spent sparingly. Man idk, whatever you said doesn't seem like it's actually "preparing for death". It's more like preparing to live, like, isn't that how life is supposed to go? The notion of death behind this idea just exudes it with a negative connotation or idea that I was honestly confused at what it was even talking about at the start. Kinda funny that what I basically said was something like living is the preparation for death, but hey, that's the reality now isn't it?

Are you willing to be vaccinated?

Why wouldn't I? It's not like Covid is a myth, it's a reality, no reason why I should avoid being safe from it.
3474  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How does on-line compete with the VIP experience on: July 05, 2021, 05:40:16 AM
Many casinos treat visitors to free alcoholic beverages because visitors under the influence of alcohol in most cases will lose all their money. In case a drunken player starts to rampage in the casino security is always a few tough guys who will throw the troublemaker out of the institution in a matter of minutes.
That's in the case for non-VIP though. I doubt that they'd do the same for VIP, hence why I was asking that most VIPs should have their own private rooms so that even if they rampage, the damage is at least contained and minimized to only inside the room. There's also the issue however of how they play games. Is there a dealer inside together with a few games? or maybe it's just a private lobby made for poker games that VIPs play with their friends or something, since honestly, VIPs would only use private lobbies if they had someone with them, and not with their alone, most of the time anw.
3475  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: To what extent can sport be strengthened with cryptocurrencies on: July 04, 2021, 03:49:30 PM
I think we will soon see that the largest crypto projects have become the main sponsors of sports tournaments.

On the sportswear of the players, we will see advertisements for Tari, Ethereum, Ada (Cardano), Atom (Cosmos), Solana, and many others.

It will be very interesting to see the symbiosis of traditional sports and web 3.0. It will become common practice for athletes to receive tokens of various projects (in the form of fees).

A sports team in the form of a DAO (Decentralized Autonomous Organization) is it possible?  In my opinion - yes!
I'd actually want to see a sport made out of the premise of crypto tbh. Integration of crypto towards sports betting and payments is just a matter of time imo, Making a sport, on the other hand, that has crypto as its own core (idk the specifics, but yea something like that) is something I'd actually love to see.

Advertisements should be in the foreseeable future, maybe around 4,5 years I guess? Adoption towards countries have been happening in the past few months, so that time span shouldn't be unrealistic imo.
3476  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: You got a pifzer ? Then you can be eligible for lottery in Poland. on: July 04, 2021, 11:38:49 AM
it is clear that this is one of Pfizer's marketing tricks that are working with the government to attract more citizens who need to be vaccinated

my country's government makes different rules so that its citizens are willing to be vaccinated, they limit the movement of people who have not been vaccinated, such as not being able to buy plane tickets, buses, or ships

this makes me a little annoyed because actually being vaccinated or not is a human right, every citizen has the right to choose
Well if every citizen has the right to choose, then the government, as the leading organization responsible for managing the safety of public places, should also be allowed to uphold laws that limit the movement of those people who weren't vaccinated right? Idk why, it's just simple common sense tbh. It's not like the Coronavirus is a myth, being vaccinated to combat it seems like the natural course imo. Ofc, granted that supply is not really enough for the demand, there would naturally be some that wouldn't be vaccinated, but any problems that can be solved with time doesn't really seem to be a problem imo.
3477  Economy / Speculation / Re: Analysis of the causes of bitcoin's fall that is minimized on: July 04, 2021, 08:49:18 AM
Ye no you can't. The market basically moves because of demand and supply, and demand is affected by the personal judgment of people towards the market (Not all, but one part I suppose), and personal isn't really only "one thing". News being FUD is a factor, and really, even if it was FUD for you, it may not necessarily be for others (to my confusion anw). There isn't only one issue, and removing one issue can potentially crop up another one that goes against what others believe, so really, there's no point. The only thing you can actually do is to educate people, but fr, majority of them probably wouldn't even accept it.
3478  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you know the Cards game..lucky nine, pusoy and tong its on: July 04, 2021, 07:05:08 AM
Well without global audience for those games, I hardly think casinos would actually add them. Afaik, those games are only relatively popular in the Philippines, and not really in other countries. As for crypto being used in gambling apps, I mean, we have crypto casinos, so I don't think that's anything new. It's just that those games aren't really included in the roster of games that crypto casinos have, and hence why you don't really see them that much.

I don't know any of these games. Are they very popular? Playing new card games is always fun, but I wouldn't gamble on it. I only consider gambling on games which I know well and where I think I have an advantage. That is why the only two card games I play with money are poker and blackjack.
They're games popular in PH. Looked it up, and it seemed like Pusoy and tong its originated from there, Tried looking up luck nine and didn't really have any luck with it though.
3479  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: You got a pifzer ? Then you can be eligible for lottery in Poland. on: July 04, 2021, 05:25:41 AM
It's a rather good idea imho. Granted that we all need to get vaccinated, the idea of lottery when vaccinated gives them the push to do it sooner than later. It doesn't really affect them in anyway after all, since early or late, it wouldn't really matter. It's an incentive so to speak, and a welcome one if I must say.

The question is will this stop on lotteries and gambling or do we anticipate that government will allow access to each and every facility only to those people who are vaccinated  Huh

I heard that in some part the government is giving tax relief to the people who got vaccinated. Soon vaccine will be made mandatory.
Should be. Though it's still long in the future imo, since afaik there are still variants of the virus right? Though vaccines also work to some percentage with the variants, it isn't 100% from what I know, not to mention the issue of supply of the vaccine. Though it's basically a guarantee given time.
3480  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: To what extent can sport be strengthened with cryptocurrencies on: July 02, 2021, 11:03:16 AM
It'd probably remain to be advertisements or what not, or maybe something similar to the NFT craze that Axie Infinity made. But for the current state of sports? I honestly see nothing that could actively influence sports. Maybe for gambling casinos as other have said, but again, it wouldn't really influence how the game or how the community works. Crypto in itself is a medium for payment after all, and it's not like sports actually actively use it to influence the results of the game itself.
